Store in a cool place away from food, feedstuffs, seed, fertilizers and other agricultural remedies.
RE-ENTRY: Do not enter treated area until spray deposit has dried unless wearing protective
clothing.
Keep out of reach of children, uninformed people and animals.

Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions the
registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions because the
action and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as soil, climatic and storage
conditions; quality of dilution water, compatibility with other substances not indicated on the
label and the occurrence of resistance of the pest against the remedy concerned as well as by
the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not
accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment or harm to man or
animal or for lack of performance of the remedy concerned due to failure of the user to follow
the label instructions or to the occurrence of conditions which could not have been foreseen
in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier immediately in the event of any uncertainty.

PRECAUTIONS:
Do not smoke, drink or eat while using this product.
Prevent contamination of food, feeds, drinking water, water supplies and eating utensils.
For safety when mixing:

In the event of contact with eyes, wash with water immediately.
Wear rubber gloves and a face shield when handling the concentrate.
In the event of contact with skin, wash with water and soap immediately.
In the event of contact with clothes, remove and wash.
For safety when spraying:
Do not inhale and avoid contact with the spray mist as much as possible.
Avoid spray drift onto susceptible crops, grazing, rivers, dams and areas not under
treatment.
For safety after spraying:
Wash yourself.
Change and wash work clothes.

CONTAINER RINSE AND DISPOSAL:
Containers and packages must be completely emptied before being disposed of.
Shake out thoroughly into the application hopper before destroying empty container.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS:
Do not apply product directly or allow product to visibly drift onto water or wetlands. Do not apply
where runoff from treated area will contaminate water or within 10 meters of permanent water. Do not
mix or load within 20 metres of any body of water. Do not mix or load within 20 metres of a well unless
on an impervious pad to prevent groundwater contamination. Prevent well contamination by back-
siphoning when filling spray tank by use of an anti-siphoning device or an air break between water
hose and spray tank contents.

RESISTANCE WARNING

For resistance management KARMEX

DF is a group code C2 herbicide. Any weed population may

contain individuals naturally resistant to KARMEX

DF and other group code C2 herbicides. The

resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used
repeatedly. KARMEX

DF or any other group code C2 herbicide may not control these resistant
weeds.

KARMEX

DF, Page 2, 2005/07/05

To delay herbicide resistance:

Avoid exclusive repeated use of herbicides from the same herbicide group code. Alternate or tank
mix with registered products from different herbicide group codes.
Integrate other control methods (chemical, cultural, biological) into weed control programmes.

For specific information on resistance management contact the registration holder of this product.

USE RESTRICTIONS:
Do not apply more than 12 kg of KARMEX

DF per hectare per annum for any crop.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: USE ONLY AS DIRECTED
COMPATIBILITY:
KARMEX

DF may safely be mixed with the following products at the recommended concentrations
(Registration numbers in brackets):
Velpar DF (Reg. No. L5432 Act No. 36 of 1947), MCPA (Reg. No. L1404 Act No. 36 of 1947), Oxytril

(Reg. No. L3982 Act No. 36 of 1947), Sencor 480 SC (Reg. No. L3034 Act No. 36 of 1947), Harness
EC (Reg. No. L3029), Metribuzin SC (Reg. No. L4374 Act No. 36 of 1947); Falcon 960 EC ((Reg. No.
L5750 Act No. 36 of 1947).

MIXING and APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Half fill the spray tank with clean water. Then add the required quantity of KARMEX

DF as
recommended under RECOMMENDATIONS. When KARMEX

DF is used in tank mixtures with
other chemicals, first add the adjuvant, then the suspension concentrate (SC) and finally the
emulsifiable concentrate (EC) herbicides. If OXYTRIL is a constituent of the tank mix, it is important
to note that the OXYTRIL be added after all the other remedies have been put into the spray tank and
mix well. Top the spray tank up to the required volume.
The spray mixture should be kept in suspension throughout spraying by continuous agitation. Do not
use air agitation. Foaming must be kept to a minimum.

Ensure that application equipment is correctly calibrated prior to spraying to ensure uniform coverage
of the area to be treated. Openings in sieve should be 50 mesh or larger.
KARMEX

DF is not a contact weed killer; it kills weeds by being absorbed through the roots and best
results are obtained when KARMEX

DF is applied prior to weed germination.
KARMEX

DF is most effective when applied to moist soil under conditions favourable for weed
growth.

NOTES:
1. When KARMEX

DF is mixed with any other product the information on the label of that product
must also be carefully read and its instructions followed.
2. Under certain conditions KARMEX

DF or mixtures containing KARMEX

DF may cause some

scorch or yellowing of sugarcane leaves. This is normally temporary, and yield will not be
significantly affected.
3. Poor weed control may occur if KARMEX

DF is applied when the weeds have been subjected to

moisture stress or other stresses. Apply only during moist conditions when the weeds are actively
growing.
