KARMEX
DF or any other group code C2 herbicide may not control these resistant
weeds.
KARMEX
DF may safely be mixed with the following products at the recommended concentrations
(Registration numbers in brackets):
Velpar DF (Reg. No. L5432 Act No. 36 of 1947), MCPA (Reg. No. L1404 Act No. 36 of 1947), Oxytril
(Reg. No. L3982 Act No. 36 of 1947), Sencor 480 SC (Reg. No. L3034 Act No. 36 of 1947), Harness
EC (Reg. No. L3029), Metribuzin SC (Reg. No. L4374 Act No. 36 of 1947); Falcon 960 EC ((Reg. No.
L5750 Act No. 36 of 1947).
MIXING and APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Half fill the spray tank with clean water. Then add the required quantity of KARMEX
DF as
recommended under RECOMMENDATIONS. When KARMEX
DF is used in tank mixtures with
other chemicals, first add the adjuvant, then the suspension concentrate (SC) and finally the
emulsifiable concentrate (EC) herbicides. If OXYTRIL is a constituent of the tank mix, it is important
to note that the OXYTRIL be added after all the other remedies have been put into the spray tank and
mix well. Top the spray tank up to the required volume.
The spray mixture should be kept in suspension throughout spraying by continuous agitation. Do not
use air agitation. Foaming must be kept to a minimum.
Ensure that application equipment is correctly calibrated prior to spraying to ensure uniform coverage
of the area to be treated. Openings in sieve should be 50 mesh or larger.
KARMEX
DF is not a contact weed killer; it kills weeds by being absorbed through the roots and best
results are obtained when KARMEX
DF is applied prior to weed germination.
KARMEX
DF is most effective when applied to moist soil under conditions favourable for weed
growth.

Apply as a directed spray between the
cane rows when the broadleaf weeds are
smaller than 10 cm tall and pre-flowering
and the yellow nutsedge plants are in the
early flowering stage. Use the higher
OXYTRIL rate under winter conditions
when the weeds may be small, but old
and thus more difficult to kill.

Apply as an early post-emergence spray

MCPA for severe weed infestation or less
susceptible weed growth stages. In older
cane, plant damage may occur. To
minimise this, avoid wetting cane leaves.
