course covers advanced NetBackup topics, including
deduplication, advanced backup image copies, application
and database backups, virtual machine backups, NetBackup
environment security, and basic NetBackup troubleshooting.
Prerequisites
Students must be familiar with the administration and
configuration of the platforms that are covered by the course.
Students must also have onethree years experience with
basic NetBackup administration, configuration, and
operation. These prerequisites can be met by attending any
version of the NetBackup Administration course plus,
additional on-the-job experience.
Course objectives
At the completion of the course, you will be able to:
Configure and run backups that utilize media server and
client-side deduplication
Enable the NetBackup Accelerator
Configure and manage backups that employ advanced
methods, including storage snapshots, Automatic Image
Replication (AIR), NetBackup Replication Director, and
optimized duplication
Back up third-party applications and databases
Configure and perform virtual machine backups
Ensure your NetBackup environment is secure using
authentication, authorization, encryption, and the Key
Management Service (KMS)
