1. Obey all organization rules and regulations, both written and/or verbally executed. 2. Obey all private and public institution rules and regulations, both written and/or verbally executed. 3. Ignorance is not bliss. If you are not certain about something, it is your responsibility to become certain. 4. Maintain a good testimony. 5. Do not use your credentials if you are being disciplined by your ecclesiastic authority. 6. Notify SNYCF immediately in the event of any infractions of the law. 7. All SNYCF badges and credentials are the sole property of SNYCF. 8. Shields are licensed from SNYCF and must therefore be returned to SNYCF upon termination or resignation. 9. A minimum of two (2) activity reports should be turned in every month, unless unforeseen circumstances prevent you from doing so. 10. Your membership may be terminated if found guilty of a legal offense. 11. Your membership will be terminated if you knowingly provide false information. 12. First Aid/CPR/AED Certifications must be kept up to date. 13. Use of lights and sirens, and the installation of such equipment in your vehicles must be approved and sanctioned by SNYCF. 14. Always identify yourself properly to the authorities when necessary and/or if required of you. 15. Use your credentials correctly. If you do not know how to use them correctlyask. 16. Your ID card may be used on its own. Badges/Shields must be accompanied by your ID card at all times. 17. Shields are licensed separately for an additional fee that is not included in the cost of the training. 18. Lost or stolen I.D. cards or shields must be reported to the Police immediately. A copy of the Police Report must be filed with SNYCF as soon as it is obtained. 19. Replacement badges may be licensed from SNYCF for a fee of $150 (fee subject to change without notice). 20. There is an annual fee of $100 to renew your ID Card (fee subject to change without notice). 21. Replacement ID Cards may be obtained from SNYCF for a fee of $35 (fee subject to change without notice). 22. Do not lend your credential to anyone. 23. Do not misuse your credentials or misrepresent yourself. 24. Do not alter or change your credentials in any way. 25. Do not use your credentials to obtain favors from anyone, to obtain free public transportation, or to trespass. 26. Dress conservatively when performing your chaplaincy duties. 27. When dispatched please notify SNYCF as soon as possible as to whether you can respond or not. 28. When in doubtask. 29. Create a conscientious email account and voicemail message. 30. Memorize the SNYCF Creed and Code of Discipline, and become very familiar with the SNYCF Code of Ethics. 31. DO NOT EVER speak ill of a fellow chaplain or a member of our organization. Any disagreements between members should be brought to a peaceful resolution between the members in disagreement. This should be done as soon as possible lest it become known to the Commander. 32. Report to whoever is in charge within the Institution or Incident Command System. Adhere to Institutional or Incident Command System rules & regulations at all times. Offer spiritual care through the practice of presence and hospitality. Identify and solve immediate concrete problems. Meet, accept, and respect persons exactly as they are. Encourage individuals to talk about their experiences while remaining an active listener. Recognize normal stress reactions and find or make referrals to resources who will address the immediate problems. Do no harmnever evangelize, proselytize, or exploit a vulnerable person reacting to a traumatic event. Protect Confidentiality. Respect social diversity and cross-cultural settings. Function at levels appropriate to your training and educational background. Help the individual to understand and normalize what has happened.
