We are assigned to observe the Can-avid Central Elementary School, and
because of that observation, we got some ideas from the class that we have observed. And because of those experiences, our minds are already enlightened on what kind of profession we are soon to face. This portfolio is made for certain purposes. As future educator, we must be able to know some hindrances in the continuing Teaching- Learning process. For that, we will know what approaches to be applied in teaching. One purpose is to know what the capabilities of the students when it comes to learning. To know what are their waterloos in a certain subjects. To be able to construct assessment on the subject. Another is to assess the teacher on how and what are their approaches in handling students, which are very different from another. Because some teachers only apply one approach, which I think is not enough in handling students. Most of all is to be able to know if most of the students are already capable in going to a higher levels of education. Because some students are uncertain in going to high school because they are not yet fully nourish with proper training- Cognitively. I want others to know on how difficult the job of the elementary teacher. Other says that the teacher are just a repeater. It is the simplest job of the world that even those people who are not licensed are capable to teach. And I believe so, that`s why when I`m inside the room, observing on how the teacher managed her pupil`s. I feel pity to the teacher because she is eager to impact the learning that she have. But sad to say her pupils are listening to her, others are quarrelling, others are eating, it seems that the teacher effort are useless. I observed that scenario, on what if, I experience this kind of scenario too. I ask to myself if I can hold my temper as what the teacher did. That`s why I`m very thankful that we have this kind of curriculum which is field study 1, which gives us full opportunity to observed in elementary school. Without this curriculum, we will left hanging. So now, we already understood our profession, and now were ready to face another chapter of our life. And I hope that others will also know the value of our teachers, on how big is their sacrifices toward us, students.

Article of Lesson Plan and its parts
Effective classroom management depends in large measures on the teacher`s ability to plan interesting, student- centered multi- activity lessons to promote a high degree of student involvement and participation. According to Thomas R. Mac Daniel the word plan has been deliberately underscored to emphasize that planning is a vital part of teaching. According to Grossman et. al. Effective planning is based on knowledge of: 1. The general goals of the school 2. The objective of the course or subject 3. Student`s abilities, aptitudes, needs and interest 4. content to be included and appropriate units into which the subject can be divided 5. Techniques of short-range instruction or lesson planning.
There are at least two bases for classification of plans for teaching. One basis is in terms of the time frame. With this is a basis, for types of instructional plans can be identified : 1. The plan for a terms work 2. The unit teaching plan 3. The project teaching plan, 4. The session plan, which is often called a lesson Plan.
We have three kinds of lesson Plan according to Salandanan, The Semi- Detailed Lesson Plan, which involves only the teachers activity. The Brief Lesson Plan, Wherein only the teachers activity is being presented for this type of lesson plan and the Daily Lesson Plan. According to Salandanan, Daily Lesson Plan is the most specific types of lesson plan that teacher`s prepare. It has five components the: ( 1 ) objective, ( 2 ) Content, ( 3 ) Resources and Materials, ( 4 ) Methods and Procedures, ( 5 ) Assignments I. Objective. This portion of the lesson plan is the specific of knowledge ( Cognitive ), Skills ( Psychomotor ), and values ( Affective ) that students are to acquire as a consequence of instruction. II. Content. This section is the outline of the content to be covered in the lesson plan III. Resources and Materials. Listed in the component of the lesson are the instructional materials needed for the lesson. Teacher should select the teaching materials that are only available and present in school and in the community. The purpose of including resources and materials in the plan is to guide the teacher in resembling the reading material, Library and research materials, and audiovisual equipment needed to carry out instruction. ( Tyler 1949 ). IV. Methods and Procedures. Method is the pattern of techniques you use to attain your goals. ( Samalonies 1970). Relying on the same methods day after day would be boring. Even for adults. Different procedures sustain motivation throughout the lesson. This part of the lesson is subdivided into the following subsections: A. Initiatory Activities. This portion includes daily class routines, review of the previous lesson and motivation 1. Daily class routines. Included checking of attendance, giving of assignments and enforcing classroom management. 2. Review of the previous lesson. Is the subsection of initiatory activities that contains the activity to be undertaken by a teacher to find out what students had learned from the previous lesson. 3. Motivation or Springboard. Is an activity to be used by a teacher to get the student`s undivided attention or to arouse their interest on the days lesson. Other educators can this Set induction .
B. Development Activites. This subsection of the methods and procedures section spells out in greater detail that step procedure that the teacher will undertake for the students to achieve the intended learning for the class session. C. Cultimating Activities. This part represents the wrap- up activity for the lesson . 1. Guided Practice. Represents the practice exercise that shall be administered to the class for the purpose of fixing skills or competencies taught in the lesson. 2. Synthesis of the lesson. Describes that students will do to summarize the key learning for the session to formulate with the guided of the teacher. 3. Valuing or Values Integration. In this session are the activities the teacher will employ in integrating value in the day`s lesson. This is the way of developing the affective or values content of the students. 4. Evaluation. This portion presents the teacher`s planned activity to assess the intended learning of the students. The lesson plan must be evaluated so that it can be modified and improve. At the end of a lesson, A teacher should have a clear idea about how the students reacted and understood.( Richard and Holt )
V. Assignments. This portion of the daily lesson plan presents in the class assignment or homework to be done or completed by the students for the next class meeting. The homework is an extension of the class activity. It test further understanding of the subject and critical thinking. The last two homework problems are geared for advanced students. ( Source: Adapted From Geography Lesson plan 1987 ). The work that the students are requested to do at home should furnish them with the content ( Kowledge , Skills and Task ) needed to participate in the next day`s lesson. ( Micahel Palardy ).
Daily Planning is a task that most teachers engage in. A will established principles of psychology is that , everything else being equal, the more immediate the goal the more impelling is its influence. The following are prerequisites to successful lesson Planning suggested by Shepley et, al.
The teacher must be thoroughly familiar with the subject matter is to be taught. Passing out misinterpretation is an educational Sin. The teacher, must know the students needs, interest, and differing abilities, and the traits for different age groups. She must provide for the individual differences and take into account environmental influences. The teacher must know the physical assets of her school, its equipment, its limitation and what concentrate materials may be largely determine what types are most useful. Before writing the daily plan, a teacher needs to think about it and make a few notes. Lastly, the teacher should develop a summary of the lesson for the benefit of the class, and perhaps have the class evaluate the knowledge they have acquired.
