The newsletter provides updates from Queens for the King's work in August. Their boys' dorm construction was completed and planning began for the move. Interns helped teach first grade, paint, and do evening duty to relieve staff. They also had one man commit his life to Christ during house visits. Birchman Baptist Church from Texas visited and ran a VBS program for the children while helping with construction. Donations of items like laptops and flooring are needed. Elizabeth is doing well in soccer and Jacob is playing multiple sports while helping with field day.

August...Full Steam Ahead! We continue to move forward on all fronts this month. We continued to share the gospel on house visits this month with one patient firming up his salvation on house visits. Birchman Baptist Church in Texas came. They provided our kids with a VBS after school while they were here. Our boys' dorm construction is complete so now planning for their BIG move begins. Our interns taught our first graders all month, helped paint the girl's lounge, and are doing evening duty now to give our tired staff some nights off. September here we come!
Buckets of Hope It is so great to see the patients' faces when they receive the Buckets of Hope the KY WMU made them as well. These buckets are packed with fresh linens, waterproof mattress protectors, Vaseline and lotions, soap, etc...It is Christmas in August! How beautiful are the feet of those who bring GOOD NEWS! This month we had one man who thought he was saved but when we explained salvation to him more fully then he said he did not have a relationship with Jesus as we described and wanted that to change. He then gave his life to Christ. He got his first Bible too.
Tabitha's Energizer Bunnies! Emily and Julie co- taught the first grade this month. After teaching all day, they helped me paint the tired ole girls' lounge. They also teach guy baking classes and do Zumba. They even do evening duty to give our permanent staff a break. They share the gospel every chance they get with our kids and in Sweetwaters. They are super women for Christ. I will hide God's Word in my heart.... Birchman Baptist Church came to help us this month. They ran a wonderful VBS after school daily for our Tabitha kids. They loved it. They also help complete the construction boy's dorm. They scrubbed floors until they shined!
Principal Wrestle-mania! Thomas is hard at work looking for a new Math & Reading teacher to help students who have fallen behind. He encourages students to make use of the revamped library by requiring book reports. In Friday school assembly, each grade recites Scriptures they memorized during the week. Doesn't everyone get to have a huge wrestle off with their school principal?
Donations-that make us dance! Used or New Laptops for our computer room Money to replace flooring in Girl's dorm 1 New or Used American DVD player Used or new children's tennis shoes Toothpaste (with Baking Soda/Peroxide) PJs for kids ages 8-11
Elizabeth Update Elizabeth is doing great. She made the first team soccer team. She hustles like no body's business. She hasn't scored YET but we have been soooo close...She is active in her school's SCA (which is like Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and still helps out with Funky Friday night at Hilton Baptist. She is one great girl! The Jacob Scoop
Jacob is playing 3 sports now. He is pictured with his biggest fans. He is throwing shot put, still swimming, and plays field hockey for Cowan House. He helped us with field day at the Tabitha school on his mid-term break. Oh and now he is required to be in the school play as a dancing pirate...yeah, not Captain Hook-like at ALL he saysHehehe
