LETTER OF INTENT

Germany being the center of excellence for engineering education my expectation is that I will
be able to complete my study in Germany with the help and support from local people. This is of
very importance because no one can achieve complete success without some help and support of
others. Hopefully I will be able to build up a promising career in Engineering in Germany and
will be able to serve mankind with the learning I will receive in Germany.
The main reason I choose RTH !achen "niversity because it provides wide range of facilities
to its international student and the educational methods are suitable for international students so
that they do not have any problem during their study period at RTH !achen "niversity. RTH
!achen "niversity is ranked as one of the top university of the world. #o any graduate studying
here must be proud of the university. $esides I have found out that the university is affiliated
with a number of internationally noted scientists including some %obel laureates. I have also
been inspired by some of the graduates of RTH !achen "niversity who are now amongst the
top researchers of the world.
I choose &etallurgical engineering because it is a diverse field and it provides wide variety of
career opportunities to people who have an interest in technology' science and engineering.
&etallurgical engineers are re(uired in every industry and enterprise that produces' buys' sells
refines or manufactures metals or metallic products. !part from opting for industrial )obs one can
also )oin as a research fellow or an associate or a scientist or professor in various labs and
universities. !s a student I had always found the field of &etallurgical study very interesting. I
took a lot of courses in metallurgy like &&E *+*, -hysical -roperties of &aterials &&E *./,
-rinciples of 0re 1ressing and Extractive &etallurgy &&E 223, 4errous -roduction &etallurgy
&&E 22*, -hysical &etallurgy of #teel and Heat Treatment' &&E 2.5, -owder &etallurgy and
many other courses. In all the courses I have always got good grades 60n an average *.. in the
scale of 2.78 in those sub)ects. The field of &etallurgical study in $angladesh is not so well
developed. $angladesh lacks modern e(uipments and processes re(uired to carry out study on a
higher level.
!fter finishing my &aster of #cience 1egree' I would like to enroll into the doctorate program'
and then I would like to )oin a research team for developing the field of &etallurgy. I strongly
believe that after the completion of my study I will obtain the necessary knowledge within the
field of &etallurgical Engineering.
