Hi Siru,
Great, tips to get Wi-fi started. I have BSNL WA3002g4 modem. I followed all the steps
mentioned by you but in my system the NAT and Firewall checkbox are in grey. Not able to click
them. So the next page to enable DHCP doesnt open.
Please let me know how to proceed ?
SiRu
Hi Rashmi,
May I know whether you have followed all the steps (please check again) provided in
the link. I have checked the settings again and it seems to be working fine (I dont use
this modem anymore -my friend does).
If you are unable to configure, also take help from BSNL toll free number: 1800 424 1600
(You may need to spend hours and all BSNL tech do not know how to configure).
I hope all will be fine soon..

Rashmi
Hi ! Siru,
Thanks for your reply, Yes I had tried all steps many times before writing to you. The NAT and
Firewall are not at all activated check-box in my setup. I checked my internet protocol (TCP/IP) in
Windows XP, it shows DHCP enabled.
So I think I have to get in touch with BSNL. The moment I get any info or solution to my problem
I will update you so that you can tell others who may be facing same problem.

Hi! Siru,
I have got my Wi-fi connected from BSNL modem. I just went to my nearest BNSL
office with my modem and power cord and there engineer opened the
192.168.1.1 page on his laptop and reset the WAN Setup page to default setting
and then NAT and firewall icons were highlighted and he clicked them. He did
following changes in wireless Security page
1. Network Authentication as WAP2-PSK
2. WPA Pre-Shared Key: As per our choice
3. WPA Encryption: AES
4. WEP Encryption: Disabled
Then save/apply
I have enabled Wi-fi to my samsung b 7722 duos. In that also we have to enter
the same Pre-Shared Key after mobile detects the Wi-fi.
Now both Desktop as well as my mobile are connect to net at the same time.
So my problem was solved.

Rashmi

SiRu
Sorry, have not done it yet.
Might need to call the BSNL toll free number at: 1800 424 1600

13. On the next page, enter below said details.
PPP Username: Username provided by BSNL.
PPP Password: password provided by BSNL (default password is password)
isnt there any other option by which there is no need to fill these two columns in modem
settings.
i mean to say that we fill these two columns in mobile like we do for laptop when connecting it
for internet .
SiRu
Gurpreet, if my understanding is right, you need to enter the BSNL user name and
password in modem configuration. Then only the modem can communicate with BSNL ISP
