On behalf of the Villanova College of Engineering and NovaRacing, thank you for taking an interest
in our team. We are excited to welcome you to the Formula SAE design series, where collegiate
racing teams conceptualize and build a formula-style racecar from the ground up.

Founded in 2008, the NovaRacing Formula SAE team at Villanova University is a defining aspect of
every team members college experience, developing the engineering knowledge and teamwork
experience critical to excelling in any field. NovaRacing team members work all year, pouring
thousands of hours on top of a rigorous academic schedule, to finance, design, fabricate, and race. It
takes special focus, motivation, and commitment to produce a winning team in this competition.

Our team has proven to exhibit these qualities and continues to grow from its mistakes. Constantly
overcoming adversity and challenges, NovaRacing continues to innovate and improve, steadily
moving up the final competition standings each year. The team is poised for a breakout year as we
develop our seventh car, VU07, and is well-equipped to finish on time, on budget, and on top.

Villanova Universitys 2014 entry into the Formula SAE Competition (VU06)
represented the teams sixth year in the competition. VU06 was developed to
build off of the strengths of our previous cars, while improving reliability and
driver comfort. Some highlights include a frame that is 10% lighter and 15%
torsionally stiffer, increased reliability across the vehicle, a redesigned cooling
system, a new paddle-actuated CO
2
shift system and computer, and a new
data acquisition system.
THE CAR
THE TEAM
At the start of each school year, over 100 new members sign up to join
NovaRacing. Yet, by race-day, our team consists of 20. We welcome each
potential new member, but being a member of NovaRacing means more
than showing up to meetings and tightening some bolts. It is more than just
a club: its a lifestyle. While the car attracts all, the lifestyle attracts some of
smartest, craziest and passionate students. We dedicate every second of
our free time to our passion: building racecars. We make sacrifices
because our car is our number one priority. In fact, its our only priority.
People wonder why were obsessed, and we wonder why theyre not.
When you spend so much time, effort, and sanity on a project, you become
more emotionally invested than imaginable. Every year is a rollercoaster of
emotions. Excitement, disappointment. Optimism, dejection. Confidence.
But all that matters is finishing on top. We define success not by finishing
first place, but by meeting our goals. Our 2014

season represented just
our sixth entry into the FSAE competition. We competed against teams
twice our size, three times our budget, and four times our age, yet we were
one of the most competitive contenders present. We are the underdogs
and we need your support to accomplish our goals and finish on top.

NovaRacings success depends on the support of our partners. Our
partnership is mutually beneficial. In addition to our largest sponsors*
appearing on the race livery, all of our sponsors are promoted on the team
tee-shirt, Facebook page, and website.

The team, car, and its sponsors are well promoted locally and nationally by
Villanova University. The team maintains a display car in the College of
Engineering, attends all Admissions, Alumni, and Engineering events on-
campus, and is consistently featured in alumni newsletters, university
publications and local news outlets.

Other sponsorship benefits include the opportunity to recruit team
members, visit the garage, and appear as a guest speaker at team
meetings. Previous cars have even been temporarily displayed at
sponsoring company locations.
