Brahmakamal 2.
Understand your own body for meditation. One very important thing that can never be forgotten is
body. It is an important tool for your sadhana....the path of travel for your soul.
Travel begins from a destination and reaches some destination again.
The first thing every sadhak must know is the destination of beginning and the destination to travel.
If you begin the sadhana without knowing even any One of them, your journey is on wrong track.
This indicates that you want to begin, you want to travel and reach the ultimate goal but you are
unaware about your own path.
This is misleading your ownlife.
Never travel on your own. You may get lost in the dense forrest of wrong thoughts and concepts.
You need to understand yourself, your soul, and your destinations.
Also you must know where are you standing just now. What is your present location in adhyatmik
life.
And before knowing yourself, your soul, we need to understand our own body.
Let us begin with understanding our bodily systems.
We....I.....Me....comes from the thoughts generated in brain. Brain is the location of sahasrara
chakra....
The one who takes you towards the path is brain and the one who can divert you completely is again
your brain.
Let us begin with understanding it in different tracks.
For today, brain is the tool to walk in adhyatmik life.....as we walk with our feet carrying our body...

Brahmakamal 3

Our brain works through the Neurotransmitters.

What are they?

Neurotransmitters are the chemicals in your brain which make your thoughtful personality.

All the thought processes in the brain happen because of the neurotransmitters which are released
in the brain.

Anger is because of androgens and love is because of serotonin,

attachment is because of Oxytocin,

you get attracted towards someone, it is because of Dopamine and Nor-epinephrine,

Your long term bonding of relationship is because of Oxytocin and Vasopressin,

the feeling of lust is because of Androgens and so on....

I know the names of these Neurotransmitters are boring....difficult to remember, and its going too
scientific, but let me tell you, these chemicals make you...your feelings and your imaginary world.

Why are we concerned about these chemicals in brain?

The major concern is because, when we start meditating, when we start our path in the Adhyatmic
world, the sadhana first imparts changes in the Neurotransmitters.

Let me be frank,

Sadhana changes your brain chemistry.

When we are beginning the sadhana, basically when we start studying the Adhyatmik pathways, the
first thing to know is control ourself.

How does it happen?

It happens only through changing the Neurotransmitters in the brain....we are going to learn the
procedures and at the same time are also going to change the chemical nature of our brain.

Thats What Gurudev says:

Shanta Ho Shree Guru Datta,

Mama Chitta Shamavi aata!

Hari Om Shri Rahul Phate.

Brahmakamal 4

There are two almond-shaped structures in our brains which are called the amygdala.

This area identifies threats and also immediately takes action to come out of the threat. It sets the
aggressive impulses on, which reveals out as anger.

As you become angry your body's muscles tense up.

Some neurotransmitters are released in brain causing you to experience a burst of energy lasting
up to several minutes.

This burst of energy is behind the common angry desire to take immediate protective action.

At the same time your heart rate accelerates, your blood pressure rises, and your rate of breathing
increases.

Your face may flush as increased blood flow enters your limbs and extremities in preparation for
physical action.

Your attention narrows and becomes locked onto the target of your anger. Soon you can pay
attention to nothing else.

In quick succession, additional brain neurotransmitters and hormones are released which trigger a
lasting state of arousal. You're now ready to fight.

We start to relax back towards our resting state when the target of our anger is no longer accessible.

Though we do calm down, it takes a very long time for us to return to our resting state. During this
slow cool-down period we are more likely to get very angry in response to minor irritations that
normally would not bother us.

Sadhana first of all teaches you controlling the Neurotransmitters for anger.

How is it achieved?

How do we control ourselves? Its an easy task for Sadhakas. Mainly the sadhakas clow down on
anger. How it happens? How to control our anger initially?

Let us work out on this tomorrow.

Avadhoot Chintan Shri Gurudev Datta.

Brahmakamal 5.
Anger...raga....santap....
These are naturally happening processes. Once the mind is grabbed by anger, you can notthink
anything else. Your focus is only upon the person, thing, or thoughts you are angry upon. Then your
thought processes are lined in a single direction. Do you know how focused you are when you are
angry?
Certainly you are even thinking in a single direction in the stage of anger.
When you are happy your brain is occupied by many thoughts, and you enjoy them but you are not
serious.
But in anger your concentration is unique. Ekagrata you may say.
Can you believe how great you will be if you have same focus and concentration and determined
when you are happy......
But unfortunately this is not the natural process. You become determined only in anger and May
decide many things in the process of anger.
But always believe in One thing....in the process of anger your vission is narrow. Although you are
focused still you can not think in all directions in the process of anger.
That is why most of your decisions go wrong when you take long term decisions in angry state.
Now understand the first thing. Human begin is an animal first. Nature always think you to be an
animal. And ......Anger is the protective reflex for you.
When you are in unsafe situation the process of anger actually protects you.
You become agressive.... you concentrate on the one you Srebrenica anoid of.....you take rapid
decisions and you act fast to come out of the situation.
Great protective reflex is anger because of which people are worried of you.
So what' happens with anger?
Several chemical changes happen in brain which protects you but also makes you uncontrolled.
What are the chemical changes?
Let us discuss tomorrow.
Avadhoot chintan shri Gurudev Datta.

Brahmakamal 6

You think more optimistically when you are angry.

When you are angry the dangers appear smaller. You start feeling risk in taking action and you
become more confident, you feel you will easily overcome the tasks.

In Anger, you are more likely to take risky decisions.

More over you are more negative and prejudiced in terms of relations. You trust less and have a
strong feeling that you are the only good and never dare to attribute goodness to others.

You tend more to blame others.

Understand, like sadness and fear, Anger is a negative emotion. Negative emotions make you
remember all the negative things and you focus more on the anger creating things, which booms
your anger and negativity.

This image shows the orbitofrontal cortex, this area is responsible for decision making and this area
is most activated in anger. Look at this area marked to initiate anger.....you will find that this area is
just associated with the third eye portion.....and you can achieve only one thing.....either Anger
or.....piece.

When you are angry your heart rate increases, the blood flow towards your hands and feet increases
to prepare you more to fight. Adrenalin is released by the adrenal gland, and your testosterone
levels increase as well.

So hormonally what happens understand......your androgens increase....Androgens actually make
you aggressive. You are in a typical situation of...bhag lo.....ya bhaag lo.....either to fight or run
away....if you are confident enough to be more powerful, you fight and your muscles are activated
more to provide strength.....and if you are not confident of your strength, these hormones also
increase strength in your legs so you can run away.

Your brain starts rapid firing and your piece is lost.

Coming out of Anger and setting piece is the first step of your sadhana. Bhagwan Shree Krishna says
in Bhagwad Geets that Anger, Greed and Lust are signs of ignorance and creates an unending
burden....come out of it!

Next thing to think is coming out of anger....but dear ones....when you are angry...do you know that
you are angry?

First start realizing that you are angry....As you start realizing you are getting angry....you will fell
ashamed of it if you are a sadhak. Dont even think of controlling your anger completely. In the first
steps of Sadhana try to identify first that you are angry.

Dont let others feel you are angry.....let yourself identify that you are angry...and the first step of
sadhana is reached. It means now you cna control yourself.

Let us learn the controls now.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shri Rahul Phate.

Brahmakamal 7

Gurudev says its not difficult controlling your anger. For this Breathe Consciously and thoughtfully .
But as discussed in Brahmakamal 6, Gurudev says that your first responsibility as a sadhak is
identifying anger. This begins with the self-personal study.

First of all identify the persons, things and situations you get angry with.

Mark these things in your mind that you may get angry of them and decide to forgive.

Kshama.......it is said....Kshama Veerasya Bhushanam.

We will give a thought on Forgiving....Kshyama..in later pars. Let us focus first on the aspect of
Anger. Once you identify and decide you are not going to be angry, the process begins.

In the beginning as you identify that you are angry or you are going to be angry, now instead of
focusing on the other part which makes you angry, start focusing on yourself.

Simply, start focusing on your breath. Let me tell you about breathing.

Do you know how many breathes we take in a minute? Following are the number f breathes in
healthy human beings in the age groups:

birth to 6 weeks: 3060 breaths per minute

6 months: 2540 breaths per minute

3 years: 2030 breaths per minute

6 years: 1825 breaths per minute

10 years: 1520 breaths per minute

adults: 1822 breaths per minute

this indicates that we take 18 to 22 breathes per minute. This means duration of one breath is about
3 seconds. We take almost 27-28 thousand breathes in a day.....but how many of them are
cautiously taken?

Here comes the actual process of controlling yourself. Unlocking the path from Unconscious
workouts to the conscious ones.

Let m explain it tomorrow. Till then today just sit quiet and focus on your breath. Just count
them....feel them.

Avadhoot Chintan Shri Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate.

Brahmakamal 8

Understand yourself....Understand your anger.

Once you identify you are angry focus on your breath.....focus on yourself.

Understanding anger is conscious effort to understand unconscious chemical pathways in brain. As
you have the feeling of getting angry, or as if you realize that you are angry, now first focus on your
breathing, and now concentrate on Diaphragmatic breathing. This turns the bodys ultimate
relaxation system on! It starts controlling the thermostat of your mind.

Now just dont look at the breath. Appreciate yourself. Your Purity. The God in you.

Understand your breath now.

Inhaling the air in, you are pulling your diaphragm. This takes your tummy out. The breathing inn is
Brahma Swaroop.....the Breath ....initiation of Life.

Now hold your breath with your tummy still out. This is what we call it as the Kumbhaka.
Kumbhak for short time is good, but as you prolong you start suffocating. Never pull it that much.
Each breath teaches us that holding on too long on anything always creates Pain and sufferings. This
seems to be the most potent lesson on nonattachment.

Leave your breath gently. Letting go is natures way......let the anger go as well....

Each breath teaches you

Swallow the anger......Never hold it too longer as it will create pain and sufferings....let it go naturally
and gently.....it begins your sadhana!

Diaphragmatic breathing should be forceful. Pull the air forcefully in your lungs, this fills the deepest
parts of your lungs with fresh air. You start feeling relaxed.

Ya....when you are angry, as you realize it, just start deep diaphragmatic breathing in the said
manner.....deep inhaling.....short Kumbhak and gentle expiring the air.....

You wont believe but the relaxation starts immediately after your third breath.

Let me explain you what chemical changes happen in your brain when you breath like this. Wait for
tomorrow to understand this. Till then experience this.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Brahmakamal 9

Understand the diaphragmatic breathing.

Always remember, shallow breathing is just life support to oxygenate the blood. Deep diaphragmatic
breathing provides oxygen transport to the deeper areas of lungs and the required number of
breaths automatically reduces.

Deep Breathing provides several benefits:

70 percent of the body toxins are excreted outside the body through breathing. Deep breathing
exchanges more carbon dioxide with oxygen and the body is better de-toxified.

Try to exercise deep breathing every day at least for 30 minutes.

The most important benefit of deep breathing is, it drastically releases tension. Always remember
one thing, whenever you are tensed, you breath shallow.

Shallow breathing provides less of oxygen and your tension increases. As you consciously start
breathing deep, the tension, stress as well as anger are relieved. Deep breathing is the most
powerful stress reliever, it is better to any other medicines as well.

If you are stressed and taking medicines, start with deep breathing and your requirement for
medicines to reduce stress is reduced as well.

Another important benefit I want to list is that, deep breathing provides better clarity of mind.
Basically anxiety reduces with better oxygen supply to the brain.

Whenever you want to take decisions and you are in dilemma, you are confused, try out this
exercise of deep diaphragmatic breathing

Start deep diaphragmatic breathing. Prey your Guru and your Aaradhya god, and now focus on your
breath completely. You will observe that your confusions start reducing.

This is because of the path guiding action of your Gurudeva and Aaradhya and more of oxygen
reaching your brain.

Altogether these things inspire you to walk on the right way and your guru mantra plays the major
Role.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate.

Brahmakamal 10

We are going to discuss the About the guru mantra, Beej mantra and their benefits and support in
meditation. When the walking on adhyatmik Marga begins, most promising is the guru mantra.

Actually your guru mantra is the torch in your hand, which shows you the path in dark. Your journey
towards the enlightenment always goes through darkness and Guru mantra is the promising support
to you.

Actually Guru Mantra and the Beej mantras are related. I am going to convey you the thoughts of
Gurudev shree Vasudevanand saraswati swami maharaj on the concept of guru mantra and Beej
mantras, but give me some breathing time to do that. Let me first complete with the exercise of
deep diaphragmatic breathing and then we will come to the mantras.

Try to notice the places in your body which are tight and tensed and breath slowly to relax them.
While doing this the only thing in your mind should be the Guru mantra and nothing else.

As you start with the recitation of Guru mantra, the body and mind automatically start relaxing. Your
brain calms down. Do go into this process for about 10 minutes and now you are completely relaxed.

Now start focusing into your problems, and you will notice that you have better clarity of thought.
You start finding solutions to your problems, and you start getting wise answers, filled with purity.

Many a times you are also involved in emotional problems. You are stuck up with the intermingling
thoughts in relations, again answer is guru mantra with deep breathing.

One question prominently appears in my mind, when we are thinking of this benefit only with deep
breathing why do we need to involve the guru mantra, gurudev and our aradhya in this process?

Is it just to support our religious factor settled in our mind?

No. it is not just that. The Guru-mantra always plays a very important role in the process happening
in brain, and that is why all the adhyatmik processes are first pointing towards the guru-mantra. I
actually mean to say that many things happen in our life and mind because of Guru-mantra.

. Let me tell you, when you recite Guru-mantra and deep breath in silence, many of your emotional
problems start relieving. Your uneasy feelings with the relations and people also are relieved and
relations get better strength and purity . Let us practice this more spontaneously.

In the next part of Brahmakamal, I am going to discuss the physical benefits of the process of deep
diaphragmatic breathing.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate.
O9.04.2014
Brahmakamal 11

Also there are physical benefits of Deep breathing. Your health can improve many times with the
regular practice of deep breathing.

Just think you are in physical pain. You have throbbing pain in some part of your body and you are
troubled. Under such circumstances, the answer again is deep diaphragmatic breathing. You will find
that as if you are in pain and everything seems to be uneasy for you, just take help of your Guru-
Mantra. Start japa ( Meditative repetition) of the guru mantra.

Now on the rhythm of guru mantra, start deep breathing. You will find that your pain threshold
slowly goes on increasing. Now you can sustain pain, actually your are not feeling the pain intensely.

The japa of Guru Mantra also strengthens your immune system. Deep breathing enriches your blood
with oxygen and the body more effectively uses the nutrients, vitamins and enzymes.

Also deep diaphragmatic breathing improves your Nervous system, Strengthens your lungs, makes
your heart stronger, improves your stamina and work performance and also supports weight
control.

All above this deep diaphragmatic breathing improves the regeneration of cells and therefore is
rejuvenating, and the greatest benefit is it elevates the mood. Let me just tell you here, there are
certain neuro-chemicals in your brain which give your Feel good sensation, and Deep breathing
improves the concentration of these chemicals in your brain making you feel very energetic and
positive.

Ya, this means, feeling positive, taking the things positively and positive attitude of thinking also
comes from certain chemical changes in the brain which is because of deep diaphragmatic
breathing.

Just three conscious deep diaphragmatic breaths make changes in your body. With deep
diaphragmatic breathing tour Blood pressure reduces, cleansing of lactate in your blood begins, you
feel less of body pain, within 20 seconds of deep diaphragmatic breathing you start feeling good and
your brain starts generating Alpha Brain waves.

Let me explain you the meditation with deep diaphragmatic breathing. In tomorrows brahmakamal.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate.
10.04.2014.
Brahmakamal 12

Physiologically deep diaphragmatic breathing is filling the lungs completely with the fresh air. This
cannot be done with the chest breathing. It is only possible with the abdominal breathing, that is
breathing with tummy.

When we begin with the deep diaphragmatic breathing the downward movement of the diaphragm
compresses the abdomen and forces it outwards. This in turn causes the gut to press on the deep
diaphragmatic breathing Vagus nerve which triggers the relaxation response. The pressure
developed by the Kumbhaka causes release of a very important neurotransmitter called Serotonin
from the intestines, which comes into the active blood stream which is carried towards the brain.

At the same time if you are doing the process on strained and wrong way, you may get acidity after
the pressing of vagus. Put up your problems with me if it happens so and I will tell you the right way
to avoid this.

These benefits are not extracted when we breath shallow. Let me tell you, chest breathing makes us
more exposed to aggressiveness and adrenalin, the hormone of aggression is released more easily.
You become more prone to stress.

Shallow breathing also adversely affects our sleep, creates craving for high fat & carbohydrate food,
suppresses our immune system, & decreases our capabilities.

Along with deep diaphragmatic breathing I want to mention one very important point that the
breath must be more thoughtful, taken consciously and quietly so as to release body stress, and
therefore must always be associated with the Guru-Mantra.

To begin with the deep diaphragmatic breathing first just sit quiet, and now first look into how you
are breathing. Observe whether you are breathing with the chest or your belly.

Another easy way of testing this is, place palm of left hand on your belly and the right hand on the
chest and now breath normally. If the hand on chest or booth the hands are moving it indicates that
you are taking shallow breath.

Only when your left hand placed on the belly is moving, it indicated that you are taking deep breath.
Deep breathing will cause more of fresh air transaction into the lowest parts of the lungs. But if you
are not sure to understand how you are breathing, place your hands on belly and chest and sit in
front of the mirror, and now you can experience the change.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate.
11.04. 2014
Brahmakamal 13
Hari Om. If you recognize that you are a chest breather, its ok. Dont worry. Understand one very
important thing, that we are all born as Diaphragmatic breathers. Observe a small baby, and you will
find that the baby breaths by its belly, and not by its chest. This is the most natural reward given to
us by the nature, we have to breath by our diaphragm, actually we are designed by the nature to
breath by our belly....our Diaphragm.
Actually our ribs are connected internally by the small muscles called intercostals muscles. When we
take deep breath, the ribs open up and oxygen flows inside, but it is the stressful breathing which we
do in our hurried life.
What do I mean by Conscious Breathing?
We actually mean that we have to breath as per the nature has made us. We are always after the
easy to do tasks, and stretching the intercostals muscles is too easy, that is why in course of our
hectic and stressful life, we shift to the easy intercostals breathing.
In case of Conscious breathing, we are just focusing upon going back to the natural process of
breathing by our belly.
Also understand one great thing about belly breathing, it helps burning better calories and helps
weight reduction. This will be a boosting point to go and practice the belly breathing.
I was feeling it difficult to breath by the belly. This means I was too much stressed and was working
under the influence of materialistic world, and has forgotten my own nature and natural habitats.
But My Gurudev, was very gentle to explain me, boost me.
He said, Rahul, Never worry. This has been the past. Now at least you are on the right tract and I am
there to help you out. Why do you worry? He was absolutely right. Why should I worry when he is
with me?
This was the guiding force and the initiation of my adhyatmik life. Gurudev never insisted me to
perform any task. He said, just follow the nature, and you are wise enough to understand your own
nature. Do I need to explain you your own nature?
He was absolutely right. But unknowingly, it was he who was making me understand my nature and
my own path. It is because of his gentle, caring and guiding attitude, that I started enjoying my
sadhana. It has never been a burden on me to follow some task, it was enjoying my own leaving
under Gurudevs guidance.
Before we begin another excercise, I request all of you, not to consider this as a task, but try to
enjoy the sadhana as it is the Natures path of travel of the Atma towards the Parmatma.
Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.
Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate. 12.04.2014

Brahmakamal 14
Hari Om. As you begin your belly breathing, you may notice your belly rising and falling. Your belly
expands more and the stomach muscles relax. When you do this, your craving for food automatically
reduces. The abdomen gets toned.
Still if you are feeling that the belly breathing is difficult, just try to practice this mudra. Do is and you
will get a great feeling. Criss-cross your fingers and hold your hands behind your head. Now the
elbows will be positioned outside. Your hands are just behind your Adnya Chakra. Now start with
longer breathing, and you will notice that you are automatically breathing with the belly.
In this position, your stomach muscles are automatically relaxed, and they come under the direct
influence of your diaphragm. IF your breath in this posture for about three minutes, you are totally
energized. It will end all of your exertion and you will start feeling fresh now.
Also try another of this mudra now. Criss cross your fingers and hold your hands behind the back, to
be exact, bring your crossed fingers behind the Swadhisthan chakra and start long breathing. Even
now you will notice that you are automatically breathing with your belly. Such an easy task.
Now you have to compare and decide, which position is convenient to you. Initially you can even
practice this in standing position, and letter practice in sitting position. While you sleep, you can do
this as well and try to practice the abdominal breathing. This conscious breathing slowly should
become the life style.
Moreover, dont be very aggressive in doing this. I tried this initially for a longet term and ended in
troubles. Gurudev was observing me and he started laughing as I finished off and was more stressed.
He said, Rahul, why do you want to exert yourself and try to achieve immediately as soon as I tell
you something? Better be slow, but continuous.
He said, whenever you are beginning something, begin with 3 minutes, not more than that. As you
practice and become more perfect, then increase the time period.
But as you begin with this, you will experience calm feeling. Do it for short time, but do it
continuously, daily without gap. With practice, you will start enjoying this initial stage of Sadhana.
Initially do it for three minutes once a day, slowly increasing it to atleast three times a day, and just
keep following.
This is the first key, to unlock the mystery of the Atmik energy. As you begin doing this, your process
of gathering energy for your long adhytmik journey begins. Prey Gurudev Parmahansa
Parivrajakacharya Shree Vasudevanand Saraswati Swami Maharaj, and begin.
I am waiting for your response, after you begin with this.
Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.
Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate. 13.04.2014

Brahmakamal 15

Hari Om. Let me tell you about the general process of meditation, the basic, the basis. When do we
think meditating?

Hey! Really we have to think and meditate. That is the worst part of our life. Actually the life is 24
hours meditation, along with the work, if we really station at.

Meditation is nothing different, but remembering the self....the Atma....Self existence all the time,
every breath we take.

As we were talking about the conscious breathing, we also intend to initiate self consciousness. This
creates sense of self being.

Remember one very important thing, although you are born as a social animal, you are social
physically, but you are all alone, your own for you and you are born for the Atma to get the Atma
dnyan. The Knowledge of self...understanding self....and gathering the whole universe in you.

For this the most important thing which need to happen is not forgetting your atma-the self, any
time of the day. Is it really possible? Why not?

Someone says they continuously chant the guru mantra, even if they are working, they are thinking,
they are talking, the chanting of the guru mantra continues in their mind.

What is this?

This is just remembering the mantra, which is another form of just reminding you about your
existence.

This has to be initiated some time at least, and the basic form of meditation is just reminding you
about yourself, it is the time spend by you for your own. Do you know the most important and the
most basic thing, that conscious breathing is the first, basic form of meditation.

Let me tell you, there is no time, no form, no limit for meditating. You can do it any time. Practically
you should begin with conscious breathing in the morning and you get up, and at the time you are
going to sleep. These are the two precious times you can enjoy meditation, that is being with self.

Just focus on the breath. Close down the eyes and just focus on your breath. Start the deep
diaphragmatic breathing. Just inhale deep, and exhale the breath with the same speed. Feel you are
breathing for yourself. Feel the relaxation. This is the first and most important form of meditation.
Let us begin with it.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate. 14.04.2014

Brahmakamal 16
Hari Om. Good we have started with the most powerful tool....the science of meditation. I am very
happy that so many of you have started with the diaphragmatic breathing.
Breaths make you love. When you are in love, the first thing you experience are the worm breaths of
your partner, they bring you together, and the sense of loving starts. Realize one very important
thing now, as you start focusing on your own breath, as you start feeling it, you start loving yourself.
So.....Feel your own breath. Start loving yourself.
Now we have to start the actual practicals above all the theories. Till now we were just in the mode
of understanding the techniques. But now let us begin. To begin with the practical, let me give you
the time limit.....it is three minutes.
Gurudev, Shree Vasudevanand Swami Maharaj when started teaching me, his first guideline was to
initiate the thought with the workout of just 3 minutes. The same I am forwarding you.
Initially to begin with, we are going to perform the deep diaphragmatic breathing continuously for 3
minutes. Just breath with your belly for this time period. Try not to breath with the chest at all. Begin
initially in shavaasan. This has to be done in morning as well as at the time of sleeping.
Sleep well on your back and just relax. Just look at the tip of your nose and close your eyes. Focus on
the fresh air entering your nose and feel the air you are throwing out of your nose.
Let us purify the process. Initially prey your Gurudev and then just imagine that his blessings are
entering your body through your breath. Your body is getting purified with the blessings he is
showering on you. The feeling is amazing now. Just keep breathing with your belly.
How much time are we going to breath in...inhale and exhale....? ya count 1 to 5 and count 1 to 8
and exhale out. The in breath should be deep and forceful, and the out breath should be slow and
steady.
Set an alarm for 3 minutes and keep doing this till the alarm rings. You can feel that 3 minutes is a
large duration. Believe me, you are not loving yourself, you are loving others and the materialistic
world, you think more about others then yourself and therefore you feel 3 minutes which are spent
for and with yourself are too long.
Now you have to start loving yourself, and this time of 3 minutes will be very short....even
hours...days spent in ourself are too short, once you learn loving yourself. So, Let us love ourselves.
Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.
Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate. 15.04.2014

Brahmakamal 17
Hari Om. How was the feeling being with yourself?
I believe so many of you have done this in the morning and evening. If not immediately begin with
this. Because now every day we ager going to add something to your daily meditation. Try to
practice it every day so that you become perfect on the practical along with the theory.
Ya, I have started breathing with my belly now, and every day I have started reminding myself about
the diaphragmatic breathing. As I remember it again I focus on my breath and my belly breathing
starts.
Now today we are going to perform another task. Still we are going to perform the meditation in the
sleeping position.
Relax in the shavaasan. Lying on your back, come out of all your mental and physical tensions and
just relax. Now again looking at the tip of your nose, just close down your eyes and again focus on
yourself. Prey your gurudeva, and now start with belly breathing.
How much time and how?
A new instruction form today. Count 1 to 5. Just imagine one count is one second, and you are going
to inhale the breath for 5 seconds, counting 1 to 5. Now hold the breath in your belly for next 5
counts. This is called Kumbhaka. And after 5 counts start releasing the breath, again count 5 and
exhale slowly. I know, to be perfect on this it needs practice. But continue doing it for 3 minutes.
Dont think whether you are performing it correctly or not. Just keep doing. Practice makes you
perfect, and I am confident you will do it great. I know so many of you already have reached many
stages ahead, but I request you to perform these basic things again with the flow, and certain things
which are skipped out will be perfectly followed with this.
More over this practice has to be done as many times you can and as many times you are free and
thinking what to do now. This is the beginning of practical and the theories will follow on.
I prey my Gurudv, Shree Vasudevanand Saraswati Swami Maharaj to bless you for this particular
type of sadhana. Continue doing the same till the next instruction.

Brahmakamal 18

Hari Om. For some one kumbhaka is difficult, for some others while releasing the breath cough
accumulates in the throat and you have to loud clear it. For some one inhaling for 5 counts is difficult
and for others slow release of breath is difficult. These things are to happen.

N\But many have done it successfully and were thinking...Oh...Its so simple. What is difficult doing
this? Just relax. Dont be proud of knowing something, dont laugh at the easy happenings, because
in sadhana as you go on walking the longer path, you start getting restricted at very small points and
then you are left helpless.

If you are capable of doing this without any hurdles, this means you are sadhaka since long. You
already have practiced it in last life and fortunately you are still in touch, which makes you feel easy
of this.

Although it is easy for you, still you are supposed to perform this task. I have asked for 3 minutes.
There is no need to show that you are better and can do it for longer time. Just follow the
instructions without being over smart on the sadhana, because these instructions are given by
gurudev. He is going to guide us slowly on the right track, and daily we are going to walk on the path.

Now I want to tell you how to sit. Only padmasana is not the way sitting for meditation. According to
your physical status, dont even hesitate sitting on the chair for meditation. If you can sit in
padmasana it is well and good. The basic requirement for meditation is sitting with the back bone in
straight position.

Now keep your hands in the form of anjali on your thighs and observe that the middle finger of your
hand before your knees. It must not cross the knees. When you sit in this posture, automatically
your chest comes forward.

Now bend your neck and try to accommodate your chin to touch your Hyoid bone (Throat Bone).
Now you are at the perfect position, where the sahasrar chakra is exactly above your Mooladhar
Chakra.

Look at your nose tip and close your eyes. Some more instructions are to be followed by the
sadhakas. Dont sit on the floor directly. You must sit on a non conductive place. Cover your sitting
place possibly with a woollen shawl, even if you are sitting on chair. Next important thing is not
keeping your feet on the bare ground. Your feet are the centres for energy. Keep them on woollen or
warm asana.

Also remember one very important instruction, whenever you are bowing in front of your Gurudeva,
try to make him stand on an aasana so that the energy flow comes directly to you and your chakras
are purified by such namaskara.

Todays change is just the sitting position. Remaining Breathing mechanism remains the same. Keep
following the belly breathing along with Kumbhaka for 3 minutes. Gurudev is going to focus on you
and shower blessings on you for your sincere efforts.

Promise me to religiously and sincerely give me 3 minutes in the morning and 3 minutes in the night
for this self realization.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate. 17.04.2014
Brahmakamal 19

Hari Om. Along with the breathing sadhana, let us work out on the concepts of mantra form today.
Mantra is not the only authority of Hindu Dharma, but different similar kind of mantras are seen in
almost all religions.

All the Vedas talk about the mantras, but the melodious, musical approach towards the
methamatically structured mantras was propagated by the Samaveda.

The Mantras were further classified as the Tantrik mantras and the Non-Tantrik mantras. Tantra
shastra is based on the chanting and activating the power of the siddha mantras, and performing the
task through these mantras.

But the Non-Tantrik mantras have different vision and role.

We belong and believe in the Non-Tantrik mantras, as for us the mantras are the energizing
mathematical, time bound rhythms for the empowering of our Atma...the pure soul.

Actually Mantra is a Sanskrit word. It indicates fusion of two processes:

1. Man that is the process of our brain to think in the manas that is mind, and

2. Tra: it indicates the tool of thought process. (Vishay)

Hence Mantra is the actual Vishay, the process of thought, and is mathematically balanced, set in a
rhythm, melodious, time bound and calming or stimulating.

Let us think of each and every concept of the mantra, so as to know why the mantra given by the
Guru, which is known as Guru Mantra is so important.

Let me tell you the man, of mantra. Man is the mind which generates the thought processes. You
might not be knowing, but literally around 600 thoughts are generated in the mind at one time.

The number of thoughts developed in the 100 billion cells of the brain depends upon the age, health,
activity and many varying factors. Average adult has about 70000 thoughts per day. This happens
because we never stop thinking in our subconscious.

The brain has about 200 firings per second. George Miller, in his book The Psychology of
Communication estimated that humans have thoughts at a rate of 7 +/- 2 per second. Averaging
about 7 thoughts per second. This creates the feeling of tiredness in the evening and you are
generally exhausted.

But when you chant mantra, the mathematical, musical rhythm of words in your mind, the number
of thoughts about 420 which are generated every minute, are generally reduced to 1/4th which give
you the feeling of calmness. Let us discuss the further aspects of the mantra in next brahmakamal.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate. 18.04.2014
Brahmakamal 20

Hari Om. As discussed with you, the first part of Mantra is Man. It is the thought process developed
in the brain. As we know now, about 420 to 450 thoughts are generated in the brain in a span of 1
minute. The process is huge and involves about 100 billion nerve cells of the brain. So many
neurotransmitters released every minute, keeping the brain involved in multiple processes.

But this jumbling of the thoughts distracts the brain from focusing on one single concept, and that is
why, we begin with the sadhana with the Guru Mantra. Once we start chanting the mantra, the
thought processes in the brain slow down, and we focus more on the single concept, this is what we
mean to do in the travel towards the adwaita.

For understanding the mathematics of the mantras, let us calculate the Gayatri Mantra. Gayatri
Mantra is the 24 digit Rhythm mantra, which is the concentration and contraction of actual 108
numerological vibrations.

The 24 digit rhythm indicates 24 hours of the day. Out adhyatmik concept believes that there are
108 feelings. It calculates the 6 senses, of which one important sense is Consciousness.

Number of senses = 6

The 6 sences are of three types: Pleasent(Ananda), Sorrow (Dukkha) or Neutral (Non-Affecting) =3

These are generated internally or externally = 2

And these sences are related to the three concepts of past present, or future = 3

Therefore the calculation is

6 X 3 X 2 X 3 = 108.

It is a cycle of 108 vibrations of the thoughts and therefore the number 108 for chanting the mantra.
More over as the Gayatri mantra is, every mantra has its rhythm and the numerical thought as well
as the number of vibrations generated to calm down the senses and the thoughts generated through
these senses.

This clearly indicates that the thoughts are generated through the senses and the increased number
of thoughts distract you from the atmik development. Mantra with its mathematical vibrations, calm
down the sences there by making you more focoused, and therefore the meditation done along with
the Guru mantra is the most potent, powerful and positive tool for walking on the Adhymatik Path.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate. 19.04.2014
[12:33am, 20/04/2014] Rahul Guruji:

Brahmakamal 21

Hari Om. Mantra, the balancing concept for the senses, and therefore the thought processes is the
base of the sadhana, the altered thought process of your brain and mind.

Let me focus on the Tra: when it is related to the mind it is Mantra and when it is related to the
physical body and the activities done thereof it is Tantra. This Tra is the Vishay, the tool required
to perform.

Now we need to understand what we mean by the tra for us in the process of meditation, dhyan and
sadhana.

We must agree with one thing that our sadhans is going to be based upon the Mantra. Let me tell all
of our sadhakas, that all of you need to start your workout with the atmik mantra (Beej Mantra). In
next Brahmakamal I am going to write about what is the basis of the selection of the mantra, but
you need to get one mantra, through your Guru and then decide to work out on the adhymatik
sadhana.

For today try to work out, and decide that you want to begin, you can come to me for the beginning,
so that we can scientifically identify yourself and the mantra of your sadhana. Those who are already
showered with the blessings of Guru mantra are supposed to follow the same.

Now let your guru mantra be your thought. This is what adhyatma means. Our sadhana begins with
the initial chanting of the guru Mantra for 108 times. The mantra is not just words as we have seen
earlier. It is the mathematical and vibratory mode of changing your thought processes and also it
talks about the rhythm and the time of chanting.

The timing of the mantra is also very important as we are going to breath according to the mantra
timing. Guru maharaj has instructed me to bind the mantras in the rhythm for 5 seconds each. Now
remembering one complete mantra at a time is called the Avartan. The Tra of our sadhana is now
through chanting the mantra and accompanying it with the deep breathing.

When we begin with the chanting (Avartana) of the mantra and the belly breathing at the same
time, it is like learning the cycle, where you either can focus on the handle or pedal. When you try
to focus on pedalling you loos the control on the handle and you fall down and when you try to focus
on the handle, you loose control on the pedal.

Same happens with the mantra and breathing for the initial time, therefore I request you to
understand this concept, and keep the practice of deep breathing with the counting of numbers.

But the Mantra is the tool for driving you on the spiritual path. We have to work on the mantra. Next
Brahmakamal I am going to write on the atmik...that is the Beej Mantra. Let us discuss these
concepts. Till then you have to focus upon Identifying your guru mantra and practicing the deep
breathing by counting 1 to 5.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate. 20.04.2014

Brahmakamal 22

Hari Om. Beej mantra is also known as the atmik mantra. Beej is the seed. As the seed is the carrier
of all the genetic characters of the plant, similarly the Beej mantra is characteristic of the complete
nature of our aradhya daivata.

Each diety (God-Aradhya) has a specific Beej mantra. The beej mantra is for chanting along with the
deep diaphragmatic breathing.

The repetition of the beej mantra in the mind continuously keeps your conscious thought to
continually think about the Deity. This conscious repetition (japa) will continue in the mind in the
further steps as the unconscious repetition, which is known as Ajapa.

In the process of Sadhana we have to train our mind to focus upon the Beej mantra and the Deity.
But this process has to be initiated and introduced only by the Guru. One must be very clear that the
beej mantras have different capacities and powers, when chanted for a particular time, it may reveal
many different conditions,a nd we must have capacity to face them.

Unknowingly if we go through the wrong tract, our sadhana may be miss leaded and we may be
forced into the difficult tracts, so never try to be over confident and practice any of the beej mantra.

When it comes to the practice of the beej mantra, we have tp be very conscious about the nature of
the deity, as each deity has different nature- prakruti and the requirements of the sadhana differ.

One of the most practiced Beej mantra is OM. OM is the symbol of the complete universe and is
made of three sounds-A-U-M. It is the basic trinity of sound. It is the soham mantra, the greatest to
practice the Nirgun sadhana.

All the mantras we practice can be started with the Universal Beeja mantra OM.

When it comes to the different Deities, the beeja mantrakshar changes, as we can represent with
Ganesh = Gam, Vishnu = Dam, Mahalakshmi = Shreem, Saraswati = Ayeim. And so on. Why this beeja
mantra is also called as the atma mantra ? this is because, once we start practicing the beej mantra,
we get involved in it in the form of japa and ajapa, that it becomes the power and the mantra of our
atma, and sadhana is the conversion of Beej mantra to the atma mantra.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate. 21.04.2014

Brahmakamal 23

Hari Om. Beej mantra is also known as the atmik mantra. But how do I know what is my atma
mantra? What beej mantra should I follow and believe in?

This is what your guru identifies and tells you about.

Believe me, Guru mantra is not something which is given in a group. It is the one to one conversation
between your Guru and you. It is the guide path and the relation established between you and your
guru.

But still let me clarify certain aspects about the Aaradhya and the Guru Mantra.

About the Sadhana, Bhagwan Shree Krishna was asked:

He Jagadguru, if I am involoved in the Sadhana, is it possible to achieve the Atmadnyan in one
single life?

Bhagwan said: It is possible, but it depends upon the sadhak, sadhana procedures, guru and the
Aradhya itself.

And suppose if I die before my Sadhana is completed then? My sadhana will eb incomplete and I
and my life will be a wastage...isnt it?

Bhagwan Shree Krishna has guided on this in th gretest way, which becomes the base of the
Adhymatik sadhana. He says:

If some Sadhaka meets death before his Sadhana is complete, his bodily living is over, but his
Sadhana is not. The Sadhana of the sadhaka is associated with the soul and not with the body.
Afterwards he is again borned to complete his sadhana.

Does he remember the last sadhana and the sadhana tatwa? How is it continued?

Bhagwan says: the Atma is enriched with the energy gained during the sadhana. And the sadhana
is never a loss. It is carried forward. After the death, the Soul is again born to continue the sadhana.

The soul is born at the same level of atmik energy (Avastha) at which it was died in the last life. What
do we mean by this avastha?

It is the energy level, that is the Chakra till which you have reached with the sadhana. Now is the
time in this life to begin with the same sadhana again. When you are destined to born with such
atmik urja, you automatically get your guru, who guides you on the path of sadhana.

You have to come up with the willingness to begin your sadhana, and you cefinately meet your guru.
Meet him, take his guidance and begin your sadhana.

We will talk on the Aradhya in next Brahmakamal.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate. 22.04.2014
Brahmakamal 24

Aaradhya!

The path of love in the adhymatik life begins with the Aaradhya. He is our master, Magnifier, the
goal to reach, the one whom we can also call Paramatma.

Aaradhya is nothing else but the form of a deity, in which your soul is going to get converted. Atme is
going to be the parmatma, with the attachment of Aaradhya!

Let me tell you, the Sadhana is the compiling of the three angles of the Sadhana, and they are the
Bhakti Marga, Yoga Marga and the Dnyan Marga. In Bhakti marga the Diety is our Aaradhya, in Yoga
marga it is our soul and in Dnyan Marga it is the Parmatma.

All the three concepts are to be implemented simultaneously so as to achieve the param ( Superior
most) Avastha.

We have to begin with the Bhakti marga and the path begins with the identification of the god
whom we love as our Aaradhya.

Many a times it happens so, that a girl loves someone. She has the image of that boy in her mind as
the companion of life and she thinks of her happy world in his form. She is now mature and the
adulthood thoughts are generated in her mind. The dream world of that girl is rotating around the
same personality in her fiction.

This is now called as attraction. This means she is initially attracted physically and later she is
completely involved in this boy. At every point of her life, she keeps thinking of the same person,
which develops attachment and this attachment gets converted into a beautiful feeling......you call it
LOVE.

Love is the attachment which comes form within and you start loving the person means the image of
the same person is in your thoughts, mind, brain and heart. What is this called as? LOVE? Ya, in the
physical world you call it Love, in the adhyatmik life, the same is known as Bhakti.

The necessary thing to happen in Bhakti is you have to fall in love. Once you are in love the process
automatically gets purified in your heart, now it is called Bhakti. For this you need to have a
Aaradhya deity (Daivat) whom you should start loving.

Start loving and achieve Bhakti. This is the scientific thought of Spirituality.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate. 23.04.2014
Brahmakamal 25

Hari Om.

The girl is in love, and she is completely involved in a boy, her mind, thoughts, heart and brain are
involved in him, but unfortunately she is not bold enough to express her love.

She cannot open it up with the boy she loves, and she cannot even explain it to her parents. In
process of time, her parents identifies a boy for her, and she is supposed to marry this person,
according to her parents he is the best match for her.

She doesnt have voice to say no.....and the marriage happens.

Understand the processes happening in the mind of this girl. She was in love with some other
person, and she is married to other. May be leaving in the Indian society, she will be the best wife,
she will adjust the lifelong and nobody knows that there was something else in her mind.

But she has that realization. She marries, stays but is not completely involved in the person called
her husband. She loves him, as staing together will also create affection, but the divine love which
she had for the person in here mind can never be imagined any time in the life.

Same thing happens with the Adhyatmik vishva (Spiritual World). Same thing happens with your
Aaradhya and your Guru.

When you are confused and want to have a guru, how do you identify? The process is simple, the
first and the only thing you should keep in mind is weather you can love your Guru. Are you feeling
convenient with the person to interact and get the guidance? Are you comfortable with him. If you
are comfortable, please go ahead and select him as your Guru.

If you are not feeling Comfortable, wait. Wait, observe, try to love and if you feel comfortable now,
make him your Guru. But still you are not comfortable, he is not your Guru.

Moreover, only thing you should have in mind, that your personal Ego should not inhibit the process
of deciding your Guru. Once your comfort levels are achieved, select the right person to guid you on
the adhymatik path. Your Journey begins here.

Let us talk about the Aaradhya in tomorrows Brahmakamal.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate. 24.04.2014
Brahmakamal 26

Hari Om. Aaradhya!

The Deity, the God whom you love.

It happens so that you like some god since beginning of your life, since your childhood. This liking is
always by birth. It is not so that you have worship f the same god in your family, it may be or may
not be, but you have affection for the Deity.

How does this happen?

Again we have to go back to the words of Jagadguru Bhagwan Shree Krishna. He says, the phrase,
the energy levels of Soul in which you die, you are born in the same stage.

This doesnt mean that you were King of a territory and you will be born in the Royal family again to
become the King, but it talks about your sadhana and the energy levels achieved through the
sadhana in your past lives.

It depends upon the Chakravastha (Energy Level) your soul reached in the past life. If supposed you
have reached till the Manipur Chakra, this means your atma has reached the energy level to match
the Manipur chakra, and you naturally have affection for the Deity, god associated with this Chakra.

Manipur Chakra is associated with the powers of Bhagwan Vishnu, or Krishna and Rama, his identical
forms. And naturally you have affection for these gods.

Your affection is not one sided as well. Let me explain you. Love is not one sided. It is a bond
between two souls, which makes you match with the other and the affection between the souls is
labelled as love. It is not just the physical attraction and the lust, but it si the attachment at the level
of soul. When two souls interact the relation is called love. It is the affection between atma and
atma, and whe n it happens between Atma and the Paramatma, it is the most purified form called
Bhakti of the atma?

And do you know, the affection of the atma is Bhakti, and what is the affection of the paramatma
towards your Atma called? It is called Anurag....and the feelings you get is the Anubhuti.

Dont forget when you are going through the sadhana marga, as you start loving your Aradhya, as
your brain waves, thoughts and affection is transmitted to him, the paramatma also starts loving you
and a bond of Anuraga is formed.

This Anuraga of Paramatma is the link you are born with. And this anuraga make you affectionate
towards him. You automatically start liking a particular god, which is deemed to be your Aaradhya.
Lets start loving. Let us be in the bhakti marga. Come we will Identify your Aaradhya.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate. 25.04.2014
Brahmakamal 27

Hari Om. My dear ones,

You are very unfortunate if you meet a guru who does not understand the bhakti of your soul and
the Anuraga of the paramatma you are born with, he may give you the same mantra given to him by
his Guru, through which the concept of sampradaya was born.

Actually the concept of sampradaya has nothing to do with the Adhyatmik life. Let us talk of the
Sampradaya. Giving something similar is the sama-pradaya, and the sampradaya related Guru-
Shishya parampara is based on the similar thoughts, concepts and Aradhya.

All the members of a sampradaya are the followers of a particular guru and the aradhya of the Guru
is considered to be their Aradhya.

But the teachings of Gurudev, Vasudevanand Saraswati Swami Maharaj are all together different.
Although he belongs to the Datta sampradaya, He is the follower of his deity Shree Dattatraya, he
never insisted upon only praying Datta. He has even written ample of literature and melodious
bhakti kavya on several deities, Rivers and so on.

Along with this he was gifted by the vision to understand the past of his disciples, and
understanding their sadhana in the previous lives, he used to guide them for the further workout.

Gurudev was a sanyasi. A sanyasi is not allowed to stay at one place for more then 3 days, excluding
Chaturmasa. And Gurudv used to travel all over the country. The mode of communication was
writing letters, which he used to write and others never had a chance to write him because he was
not stationed at one place.

The only meeting time was the Chaturmasa, when he used to stay at one place and his disciples from
all over the country used to get the information about the place of his Chaturmas,a nd thousands of
his disciples used to travel to him for his darshan, and getting further guidance from him about the
Sadhana.

This indicates that Sadhana is the process where he never just interacted verbally with his disciples,
but used to guide them in the path of meditation and during the process of meditation.

He actually explained me about the Sadhana mantra, and according to him, the Sadhana is to be
done only after properly knowing the Aaradhya .

He has explained the process of understanding our Aaradhya and the gretest technique how to love
your Aaradhya.

Hari Om.

What are the Chakras? And what are the Chakra Awasthas?

What are these energy centres and how do they work?

Are the Chakras really in existence?

The same question was asked to Swami Rama of the Himalayas. Swami Rama was one of the
greatest yogis in the Himalayas and in his later part of life he went to many countries guiding people
on the true Adhyatmik path.

Once when he was out of India and was talking on ht Chakras, he was asked about the existence of
the Chakras. Even some doctors, Physicians and surgeons were there attending his lectures and after
hearing him on the Chakras, he was questioned:

Swamiji, We have operated so many patients, we have dissected so many dead bodies, but we have
never seen the Chakras? Where are they? Have you actually seen them?

Answering them Swamiji Said:

Morning I reached your country, America. I was hearing beautiful songs on the small transistor. It
was a miracle that you are hearing songs sung many kilometres away from the transistor. It was
actually unbelievable, so I opened the transistor, but I couldnt see the song inside.....

What do you say about this? AS the song can not be seen similarly the Chakras cannot be seen in the
body when you operate them, but these are the different energy centres existing in the body and
they are actually related to the self consciousness, the confidence as the Atma, and the energy
centres in the path of Atma travelling to become a Paramatma.

The energy levels are upgraded as you travel towards the upper chakra, and the lightness increases.
This is indicated by the tatwa of the Chakra. We are going to discuss about each and every Chakra in
due course of time, but let me communicate today about the Chakra Avastha, it is the level of
enlightenment you have reached with your Sadhana.

Once you are reached and you are re-born, now your journey begins form this particular point, and
the Swami of this Chakra is the one who has Anuraga for you. Also you have some unknown
affection for this deity. There is just a curtain between you and your Aradhya. Your Guru is supposed
to just remove this curtain, and you are near to your own deity.

Experiencing this process is an anubhooti in itself. Let us experience it soon. Once you get it....a large
part of your journey is actually covered. Now you just have to walk on the path because the way is
already shown.

Try to walk, but dont forget, you are supposed to practice the deep belly breathing daily, and daily
you have to increase at least few breaths so that you can continue the process for about 5 minutes
now.

Hari Om.

Adhyatma is indeed interesting once we start understanding it. More over I feel it has to be
presented in the simplified form for all of us to follow it and to get involved in the actual processes.

I always feel proud, lucky and blessed to get a Guru like my Gurudv, Paramhansa Parivrajakacharya
Shree Vasudevanand Saraswati Swami Maharaj. He has always helped me to understand the
concepts, science and then has taught me the actual meditative processes.

I wish to discuss these scientific views with you so that your sadhana also happens in the right track.
The first question arises is that how much Sadhana we have done in the last lives and how much
more we have to do?

How many last lives we were involved in the sadhana processes and what were we in the last life?

The same question I was very curious upon. After meeting Gurudev, my curiosity was at its extreme
levels. Gurudev was guiding me, helping me, I was translating so many Sanskrit Scripts into Marathi
under his guidance, and still I was eager to know what I was in the last life. One fine day when the
curiosity was uncontrollable, I finally asked Gurudev, about who I was in the past life.

And the first time Gurudev explained me and answered me in a different way.

Gurudev said: Do you know the Prakriti of your mind? Prakriti the Nature has designed your brain
in a different way. Your mind has two kinds of memories. The short term memories and the Long
term memories.

The moments which you enjoy, which you celebrate come under your short term memories and the
most difficult incidences, bad experiences, and the sorrows are all stored as the long term
memories.

When you try to recollect about your past lives, you get a collective gift of the forgotten sorrows,
bad experiences and the most difficult time memories. Then, Why do you want to get involved into
all the problems and worries of the past life. Better dont get involved. Don't try to go beyond what
the nature has given you.

More over with your further sadhana you can always reach a level where you can easily poke into
your past lives, but never do that. That will disturb your Sadhana in this life and you will get loaded
with the sorrows of all the lives.

So, just live today. Enjoy the truth of the nature. Celebrate the consideration that you are again born
to perform the Sadhana, let us begin....

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate.

Brahmakamal 30

Hari Om.

Every Chakra has its own master. The master or god is defined with the nature and the qualities. It is
described as the Prakruti that is Nature.

Actually, we are Physically, mentally and Spiritually designed to suit the atmospheric conditions we
are born with.

The genetics collaborates with the Nature and the body is designed to cope up with the qualities of
the nature.

Even our colour, height, strength, lung capacities are designed to suit the atmospheric conditions.
This talks of the physical body.

Similarly our mental status and structure is designed to work out with our society. Society becomes
the atmosphere for the mind. The thought processes are developed according to the social exposure
and the related mentalities, basically the training that is Sanskar!

Most important is our Spiritual status.

The spiritual status is influenced by our Physical as well as the mental status, but the spirituality is
not something which develops in this life or after birth. Every person is born with the specific
spiritual characteristic.

Actually, this is what Lord Krishna talks about. You are born with your own Spiritual Characteristics.
These spiritual characteristics are nothing but the affection, love and orientation and attraction
towards a specific god.

We come to know about the respective god after our birth only, but we definitely have affection for
a specific god whom we are very convenient with.

This spiritual attraction and the nature building comes not only from our previous lives sadhana, but
also through the affection of the Deity whom we were worshiping for longer time.

Yes I mean to say it. It is not so that we only have affection and love for out god, the Aaradhya, but
with the constant contact, out Aaradhya also starts loving us. As we prey him, he blesses us. As we
love him he gets attracted towards us. As we meditate him, he starts loving us.

That is why we are born with the spiritual characteristics and we carry them for one life to another.
This life also we are definitely born with the spiritual characteristics, only important thing is to reveal
the nature and understand our Aaradhya. Definately our Guru helps doing that. He understands and
explains us.

Similar is the condition of the master of the chakras. They have their own prakruti, They have their
own nature. The characteristic features are very much developed on the different parameters, which
we have to think in physical, mental and spiritual way.

The masters of the Chakras are again designed to suit the nature, Prakruti of the Chakras. Their
energies match with the chakras. And hence, before we understand the masters, before we
understand the Prakruti, we need to understand more about the Chakras, their concepts, so that we
are thorough with the scientific aspects of Sadhana.

The word Chakra comes from the word Wheel. Actually it talks about Whirlpool.

Let me tell you that the Indian, Hindu Yogic and tantric traditions believe in this concept of Chakras,
which are considered to be the energy flow systems of the subtle body. These Energy flow Wheels
are located at the physical counterparts of the major plexuses of arteries, veins and nerves.

Again keep it in mind, that the Chakras are the part of the subtle (Fine/Delicate) body and not the
physical body.

The energy in the body flows from the energy movement channels which are called as the Nadies.
Through the Nadies move the Prana or the Vital energy.

The three major Nadies through which the Chakra workout is carried out are

1. Ida 2. Pingala and 3. Sushumna.

Energy which flows through Nadies, boosts through deep breathing techniques, and is potentiated
with the sadhana through breathing with the powers of Guru Mantra.

Now understand one very important aspect, that the three Nadies are not the electrical wires, just
to carry the electric current, but they are the systems of the subtle body and the energy is not in
form of electric current, because of this, the flow of energy cannot be unidirectional. It keeps
regurgating all over the body.

One of the most important aspect of the sadhana is rescheduling the flow of the energy through the
Nadies, and we Need to practice it with our Guru mantra, so the flow of the energy is regulated,
which helps travelling form one chakra to another.

When I am talking about the Deep and slow belly-diaphragmatic breathing, it is not just the air
circulating in your lings, it is not just the movement of the diaphragm, but it is the pulling of the
energy in the form of the chakra to form the Whirlpool.

What is this Whirlpool? How is it related to the Chakra? Let us talk in tomorrows Brahmakamal.

If we read different spiritual texts and teachings, so many talk about the chakras and the differential
numbers of chakras. Let the texts talk of anything, my master, my gurudeva has taught me about the
7 basic and the important ones.

These are the most important and powerful centres of the subtle body. Now we need to correlate
the three parameters in the process of Sadhana. Physical body is the tool, Shwasa (Breathing) is the
media and Mantra is the power of Aatmik Sadhana. This power activates the movements of the
chakras, if we want to just visualize the Chakras, they are the moving wheels of the energy which is
continuously revolving or rotating.

Every Chakra Vibrates and rotates in a different speed. These Chakras are located arbitrarily on the
Spinal cord and beginning at the coccyx and ending in the brain. The speed and the vibrations of the
lowest Chakra are minimum and they are maximum at the brain.

Each of the Chakra is stimulated by different parameters. Although the breaths energize them, still
all the six sensec contribute towards stimulating of suppressing the chakras. Colours. Sensation,
Feeling, everything contributes.

Let me first just list out the 7 major chakras and then we will go on listing and working one by one on
each and every chakra.

The Seven major Chakra includes the following:

1. Mooladhara Chakra.

2. Swadhisthana Chakra.

3. Manipur Chakra.

4. Anaahat Chakra

5. Vishuddhi Chakra

6. Adnya Chakra and

7. Sahasrara Chakra.

Mooladhara Chakra is located near the coccyx of the spinal cord, The Swadhisthan Chakra is near to
the Saccrum, Manipur is near the Umbelicus, also known as the Nabhi Chakra, Anaahat is near the
heart, Vishuddhi near the Throat, Adnya between the two eyebrows, and Sahasrar Chakra in the
brain.

As we are born, different parameters, physiological, mental, and Spiritual and all of them contribute
towards the basic energy levels of the chakras and their characteristic features. It can happen so that
by birth some chakras are weak and the other is strong.

The first aspect of sadhana, after the Deep diaphragmatic breathing is balancing the chakras. It is
energizing the weak Chakras and controlling the energy flow of the very strong Chakras. Let us
understand this one by one.

Let us discuss the association of the Chakras with the different physiological systems of the
body. Each Chakra is the energy centre which governs a particular area of our body.

Today, Let us co-ordinate the Chakra System with the Endocrinology. It is the most important
regulating system of the body, which co-ordinates with the brain and helps us maintaining the
systems of the body.

Endocrine system actually comprises of several ductless glands, and they produce hormones, which
are released into the blood. As the hormones are released into the blood, they are circulated
throughout the body, and this makes them to act very fast and all over the body.

The hormones are the chemical messengers which regulates the optimum state of health. Hormones
monitor your body systems. Hormones are released by your endocrine glands and are regulated by
the brain, and in fact, brain is under the control of the spiritual processes regulated through the
meditation.

Due t this, as we become strong on the meditative processes, we start regulating our endocrine
functioning and the Chakras as well because they are linked with the hormone creating glands.

The spiritual path talks of the holistic impact on the health. Through the meditative processes we
can balance the emotions and mental activities and the hormones as well because they are deeply
related.

The lower chakras are more activated by the impulses, that is instinctual way(Pravrutti) and the
higher chakras awe more stimulated by the mental inputs.

Also when we are coordinating the chakras with the endocrine glands, we have to understand their
association with the deity-master of the chakra. Let me list the different Chakras associated with the
endocrine glands.

1. Mooladhara Chakra or the Root Chakra is associated with the Testis in men and Ovaries in
female

2. Swadhisthana Chakra or the Sacral Chakra is associated with the Adrenal gland, which is located
on the kidneys.

3. Manipur Chakra or the Nabhi Chakra (Umbilicus) is associated with the Pancreas.

4. Anaahat Chakra also known as the heart chakra is associated with the Thymus gland

5. Vishuddhi Chakra or the throat Chakra is associated with the Thyroid gland.

6. Adnya Chakra which is well known as the third eye is associated with the pituitary gland, and

7. Sahasrara Chakra the Brain chakra is linked with he Shivlinga gland in the brain, the Pineal gland.

Let us discuss about the chakras first and then we will focus on their scientific characters.

Brahmakamal 34

Hari Om. Let us enter the core of the sadhana, here we need to know the whirlpool of the energies,
where the intense Oorja shakti will energize your soul.

We will study each Chakra and its science and along with the theory of the science of Chakra I will
introduce you with the Practical of the chakra Sadhana.

Mooladhara Chakra. Is also known as Bhumi Chakra or the Adhara Chakra. The Basic description of
the Mooladhara chakra comes from Atharvashirsha. The Aaradhya of Mooladhara Chakra is
Ganehsa, Gan ish means the master of the Neurons, One who controls the basic activity associated
with the neurons.

Atharva Shirsha describes Ganesha as:

Twam Guna Traya Atitaha II Twam Deha Traya Atitaha II

Twam Kala Traya Atitaha II Twam Avastha Traya Atitaha II

Twam Muladhara Stiti yosi Nityam II

Twam Shakti Taya Atmakaha II Twaam Yogino Dhayanti Nityam II

It says,

Hey Ganesha, you are beyond the three qualities: Satva (pure), Rajas (Activating) and Tamas (Dark
and dull)

You are beyond the three bodies; (Gross, Subtle and casual)

You are beyond the three states of time (Past, Present and future)

You are beyond the three states of being; (Awake, Dream and Deep Sleep)

You are always located in the Mooladhara Chakra.

You are the trinity of Power (The Power of Creation, Existence and Destruction.)

Yogies (sages) Always meditate on you.

This describes of many important aspects of Mooladhara Chakra. Lord Ganesha is the Aaradhya of
this Chakra and the qualities of the aaradhya are described here. These qualities indicates the
Prakruti of Ganesha, and we need to understand this Chakra by understanding Ganesha First.

Ganesh is also the Aaradhya of the Gaanapatya Sampraday, the tantric sampraday associated with
yoga and Tantra Vidya. Let us understand Ganesha and the Mooladhara in his form.

Hari Om. It is great to discuss on Lord Ganesha here. We know Ganesha for his great powers,
Intellect and love. Let us make him our beloved friend before we start worshiping him. Making
friendship with Ganesha is a great concept.

Ganesha is special amongst all Hindu deities. He is the real Authoritative Aadadhya for the yogic
Practices. As mentioned, he is the lord of muladhara chakra.

In other words, he rules our material life on the Earth. As per the mythological story he was made
by Parvati. The story describes that Parvati rubbed her skin and removed the dead cells...the
Mruttika tatwa from her skin and made a small boy out of that.

She asked the boy to protect her. She told him, not to let anyone enter her place and disturb her.
Being real follower of the jaganmata, He started protecting her. Ganesha is the true protector and
Gatekeeper for Parvati....Kundalini....The Jaganmaata.

The story further describes that Yogeshwar Sadashiv came and wanted to meet Parvati. Ganesha
was protesting against this. He was not allowing Shiva to Awaken Maa Kundalini, his Aaradhya.

Ya. Again a great thing, the Aaradhya of Ganesha is Maa Jagadamba, Kundalini Shakti.

As asked by maa Jagadamba, Ganesha was against letting her awaked. Shiva was insisting him to
awake maa, and let him meet her. The strong protective nature of Ganesha was making him protest
against Shiva, and this violated Shiva.

The war started. Both of them were adamant. Shiva wanted to Awaken maa Kundalini and Ganesha
wanted her to rest.

This is the basic fight between the two shakties. One wants the materialistic things happen in proper
fashion and another wants to cross the materialistic boundaries and enter the spiritual world.

Actually this is the story to explain the concept, but the actual moral of this story is the complete
explanation of the Yoga marga for awakening the Kundalini Shakti.

We feel great to have the feeling of getting the Kundalini Shakti awakened, but believe me, when
Maa Kundalini Awakens suddenly, it creates great hazards and the normal living suddenly ends, we
lose our control on the brain and reach a typical Pisaccha avastha, the condition where brain loses its
control on us.

Thanks God, Ganesha protects us from all these hazards.

Let me actually explain you the moral of the story to understand the yoga and dnyan marga. We will
talk about the science of this story in next Brahmakamal.

Hari Om. I remember my childhood, when my mother used to tell me stories in summer on the
starry nights. I would insist her and my uncle to tell me the stories. I was fascinated with the
mythological stories.

The first story which I remember, and was told my by mother was the Ganesh Story. When shen
used to tell me the stories, I used to have lot many questions and many a times she may not answer
me as she didnt had any answer.

She would say, Paarvati took out dirt from her body, and made an idol of a child. Then she blew life
into the child. It was fascinating for me, but still I was puzzled.

I asked Her, Aai, was Parvati SO dirty, that she made a complete child from the dirt came out of her
body? Was she not bathing regularly? You wont allow me to let a single day without bath....

She was expert hiding many things she would not like to speak, just behind her smile. Still I will insist
her to describe. Then she will say.....Rahul, these are just stories....dont think on all these aspects so
seriously. She will say, dont take everything of the story seriously, just try to collect good things
from every story.

Never think about the small bad elements, but better just collect good incidences and teachings
from each story. This is what I have learned from her.

Whenever people talk something bad and they gossip about someone, I will try to avoid
concentrating on that, but will try to identify what good can be learnt from that person.

Anyways, Since my childhood I was not satisfied with her answer. I was puzzled, how can so much
dirt come out of somebodys body to make a child? My mind was not ready to accept the story in
reality.

This has helped me to learn the science and also go into the depth of the reality and understand the
deep rooted meaning of the stories. She also taught me correlating the mythological concepts with
the scientific aspects in my further life.

But I was puzzled on the dirt, and realized the fact that it was not the dirt but it was the mruttika
(Mud) tatwa of the Muladhar Chakra, with whom Ganesha is associated with.

Let us reveal the actual science. Its not the story of some Paarvati staying in the Himalayas, but it is
the story of Jaganmata Maa Kundalini Shakti, Located near the Mooladhar Chakra, and Ganesha the
Aaradhya of the Muladhar Chakra is the basic protector of Kundalini Shakti.

Without the permission of Ganesha, its impossible to activate the Aadishakti Jagadamba, the so
called Kundalini. That is why it is said, that the Yogis first prey you. Twaam Yogino Dhayanti Nityam
II The Sadhana to Activate Kundalini begins from muladhara, that too preying Lord Ganesha.

Let me tell you how is Kundalini in the resting stage and Yogeshwara eager to meet her. Let us wait

Hari Om.

The Kundalini Shakti is in deep Nidraavastha. She is sleeping in peace. She doesnt want to
participate in the day to day activities and not interested in the physical world. Her existence is
always beyond the materialistic world.

Who is she?

Kundalini is described as a sleeping, dormant potential force in the human organism. She is called
Jaganmata, Aadishakti Jagadamba, the one from whom the world was formed. She is the immense
energy stored in the compact form. She is the beginning of the life(Srujan), and she is the end of
everything when she bursts out.

Kundalini is described as being coiled up at the base of the spine. Kundalini is said to reside in the
triangular shaped Sacrum bone in three and a half coils.

According to the Shakta Sampradaya, the one who preys Aadishakti, there are two nerve currents in
the spinal column called Ida and Pingala. And the third formed due to the ienergy interactions
between the two is the Sushumna. In the sacrum is the place of the Kundalini. When Awaken,
Kundalini tries to make its path of journey through the Sushumns.

Step by step, according to the sadhana, she rises up and up in the canal, reaches the adnya chakra
and the yogi is enlightened.

When Kundalini Shakti reaches the brain, the human being is completely detached from the body
(Videha Avastha.) That is why, Kundalini Shakti si the power, An energy which is very difficult to
handle once activated.

Just imagine fire. It is very difficult to set fire on the hard wooden blocks, but once the fire blossoms,
it is very difficult to control it. Controlling is extinguishing the fire. But The Kundalini Shakti cannot be
extinguished. Once it is ignited, the complete body, mind, brain and the atmik situation changes and
you are not under your own control.

This is why, it is not safe enough to activate the Kundalini Shakti, till you are prepared enough to
handle the fire. Otherwise it can be destructive enough to end you.

Let me tell you, Ganesha, the Aaradhya of the Mooladhara Chakra protects the Kundalini Shakti. It
protects it completely and inhibits every force from attacking it, and never allowes any source to
awaken it.

This is the major function of Ganesha, the sanrakshak...is the protection. He protects the Kundalini
Shakti in its original form. That is why, in Atahrvashirsha, We ask him to protect us from all the
directions. He is the gatekeeper at mooladhara, the first chakra where our spiritual evolution starts
by awakening Kundalini.

So if we want to begin our spiritual life, we need to begin with Ganesh Bhakti, and we need Lord
Ganeshas Grace to begin walking on this path. As the yogis begin from praying lord Ganesha, we
should also begin praying him.

Mooladhara Chakra. It is the force to begin the sadhana and sadhana begins here. These are two
synonymous terminologies. Ya I mean to say, Mooladhara, that is Ganesha helps beginning your
sadhana and the sadhana begins with the procedures of the Mooladhara chakra.

When I talk of the Chakras and the sadhana and at the same time I say that the sadhana is the
procedure of all the ages, all the lives, you have to reach the particular chakra avastha and then in
the next life you are at the same position of the Avastha, then if I feel I have already crossed the
Mooladhar Chakra, Why should I think of Mooladhara?

It is the beginning Chakra, and those who are in the Mooladhara Avastha, for them this is the Chakra
to work out. I need not bother.

Is it so?

No. It cannot be so. Although you have travelled the path, as you begin with your exercises with
warm-up, similarly when you begin your sadhana, you cannot skip Ganesha. We have to begin with
the Mooladhar workout. That is why Twaam Yogino Dhayanti Nityam II

This means, you have travelled the path up to a particular chakra, and your aradhya is different, but
your sadhana has to begin from the Ganesha, that is what is called as Shree Ganesha. And this is not
for a day or few, every time you sit for dhyan, you meditate, you need to begin with Ganesha,
because he is the Gatekeeper of the Chakra system, and cannot be opened without Shree Ganesha.

This means, the sadhana starts from regulating the end part of the spinal cord which is most
sensitive and is the origin of the coccygeal nerves. These neuronal plexus innervate the skin in the
triangle of Perineum.

Actually when our deep belly breathing begins, the focus is on the breath and the pressure acts upon
the Vagus nerve in a specified way, due to which the overall relaxation begins, above that in the
actual process of Sadhana, the focus has to be on the Mooladhara nerves.

I know that it is a difficult process, and keen workout is needed to work upon it, but I promise you to
give all the details about controlling the Mooladhara in due course of time where we will talk upon
the nerves and their role.

According to the mooladhara chakra workput, the place of Mooladhara is in the sacrum and coccyx,
where altogether 7 neurons are associated, that is why the chakra is represented by the elephant
with 7 trunks. These 7 trunks are responsible for the control of the basic activities and when the
control on them is achieved, the energy flow is regulated and the travel towards the further chakras
begin.

When we are starting the sadhana of the Mooladhar chakra, now let us be very clear. We will focus
upon two things;

1. The Mooladhara and the Adhyatmik understandings and associated symbols and

2. The 7 Neurons, their functions and how to work on the neurons.

Understanding the details we will be focusing upon the controlling exercises to achieve basic control.

Next Brahmakamal we will talk on these details.

Mla = Root, Origin, Essence And, dhra = Basis, Foundation

Mooladhara chakra is located in the end of the spinal cord, in the coccyx and the part of sacrum. Its
activation point externallt is located in the Perineum.

The Karmas of our past lives rest in the Mldhra Chakra, and from these arise the happiness or
unhappiness experienced in this current life.

Every act we have performed in the previous lives is stored in the Mooladhara in the form of seeds,
which further determine our fortune. Each life time, we plant uncountable seeds that continue to
grow and multiply till a dense forest is formed.

Mooladhara Chakra is basis of Unconsciousness. It is completely dark and the contents are not
visible. This Unconsciousness appears to be peaceful and harmless, but it is extremely violent in the
awakened state.

When the state of deep sleep is crossed, we start experiencing greatest feelings of Freedom,
happiness, and closeness to god. At the same time we may go through the violent phases of
destructive rage, the deep seated anger may come out, and the dominating desires may speak out.
Hence the process of awakening has to happen under the guidance of our sadguru.

Once awakened, we are transferred from the stage of unconsciousness to the conscious state,
where we are illuminated with the knowledge. Here we recognize our reality, and our complete
vision changes instantaneously getting associated with Mooladhara chakra.

The main Symbol of Mooladhara chakra is an Elephant with 7 trunks. This Elephant represents
several things:

1. Elephant represents Prospirity and wisdom. ( Indicates that Mooladhar Chakra is the one which
provides you Wisdom, understanding and Knowledge)

2. Elephant is the Carrier of Indra and Brahma, Who are the sources of Knowledge and creation.(It
not only explains you about the practical studies and knowledge but also helps you gaining the
Aatmadnyan)

3. Elephant brings wealth and Prosperity.( This chakra helps you achieving the Wealth and
prosperity, physical and spiritual)

4. The Elephant head represents the Gandasthal, which represents Brilliance.( It creates capacities
in you to understand and digest the Knowledge.)

Hence when you look into the depth of Mooladhara Chakra, in the light of consciousness, what you
see is the treasure of Wisdom. Above this, the symbolism and understanding of the Mooladhara
Chakra is the next part.

Let us wait for the next Brahmakamal.

Hari Om.

The Seven trunks of the Elephant represents the Sapta Dhatus; the seven basic elements of the
body. It also represents the seven levels of consciousness.

Let me describe you the seven levels of consciousness:

1. Unconsciousness (Needravastha): Actually we are in the unconscious stage, when we are leading
the normal life. We are ignorant on several parts of the natural happenings. We are even unaware
about our previous lives and our past and what we are going to face in our life. This unconsciousness
represents the first trunk opf the elephant, and the sadhana begins with the Unconscious stage of
life. The unconsciousness actually ends after meeting your Guru.

2. Subconsciousness (ardhanidravastha): Physically it is the ardha jagruti avastha, but in the
spiritual path, it actually the beginning of the sadhana, where we are unaware about several aspects,
and our Guru initiates our walking on the sadhana marga. It is the stage where our Guru introduces
us to our Aaradhya, and he explains us the nature (Swabhava) of our Aaradhya, and we start loving
him.

3. Dream Consciousness (Swapnavastha): This is the avastha, where we get attached with our
Aaradhya, and our Aaradhya also starts loving us. We begin our walking on the Bhakti Marga, at the
same time with the mantrajapa, and Ajapa we remember him at all the stages and times of life. We
feel him, we dream him.

4. Walking Consciousness (Jagrutavastha):Physically Jagrutavastha is the phase where we are
awaken. We are performing our tasks while we are awaken, but when it comes to the sadhana
avastha, the Jagrutavastha represents the walking and living with our Aaradhya. Now as we pray
him, love him, are attached with him, he is also woth us and we are in the jagrut phase of sadhana.
The fourth trunk represents the fourth stage of Adhyatmik Leaving, where the sadhana also
continues in the awaken stage.

5. Astral Consciousness (Videha Jagruti): The fifth trunk represents the Astral, that is the
videhavastha. This stage is the achievement where we are not concerned with our physical body.
More over the Soul is free to move. It is not dependent on the body, and this is the great
achievement is the sadhana avastha. Here the soul can come out of the body, and still the sadhana
continues with the body.

6. Supreme Consciousness (Samadhi Avastha): the sixth trunk represents the param avastha, the
Samadhi avastha. Understanding this stage is very important. Always understand that the brain is in
two physical stages, either the neurons are excited or depressed. The Samadhi avastha is the only
stage where all the neurons of the brain are neither stimulated nor depressed. They are all in the
equilibrium, which is physically called Samadhi.

Samadhi avastha is the stage of Immense happiness (Anandavastha) the stage of experiencing the
feeling like Orgasm for several hours.

In the Adhyatmik language, it is the equilibrium between the Atma and the Paramatma. This is what
the complete sadhana is done for.

7. Cosmic Consciousness (Brahmachaitanya).: This is the final stage of the the sadhana avastha and
the Sadhaka, whre the soul is blessed with the Atmadnyan, and it merges with the Brahmachaitanya.

Let us understand that the seven trunks tell us about the total path and the achievement. Let us
understand the symbolic parameters of the Mooladhara Chakra in the next Brahmakamal.

Hari Om.

After understanding the representation fo the 7 trunks of the elephant of the Mooladhara Chakra,
after understanding the story of Ganesh, Shiva and Maa Kundalini Jagadamba, let me tell you now
that the Mooladhara Chakra forms the border between animal and human consciousness. It is the
foundation for the development of our personality.

The Positive Characteristics of the Mooladhar Chakra are: Vitality, Vigour and Growth.

The Negative Qualities of Mooladhara are: Laziness, Self-Centeredness, And Dominating Tendencies.

Let us also reveal the Tendencies of this Chakra:

1. Master (Swami/ Aaradhya): Ganapati, and the sadhana of every sadhaka begins with the praying
and attachment with Ganesha. Gan ish, the master of the neurons, the one who controls you and
which protects you from the diversions from the sadhana avastha. The one gret deity who always
supports you in sadhana and keeps you attached to the sadhana avastha.

2. Main Symbol (Prateek): Elephant with 7 Trunks. We have already studied the seven trunks and it
also represents the 7 elements the body is made up from.

3. Colour (Rang Vyapti): Deep Red. This colour is the representation of blood. Ganesha is designated
to be the Raktawarna (Blood Coloured God). The liveliness of the sadhana comes from this Chakra,
and Ganesha keeps your physical body and your soul in the live stage. Red colour also represents
Shakti. Shakti is energy, movement, Awakening and development. Red colour indicates awakening of
the sleeping consciousness to the active consciousness to active alert consciousness.

4. Element (Tatwa): Earth (Mud) This indicates the heaviness of this chakra. Mud, earth is the
heaviest element of the Mooladhara chakra as compared to other chakras. As we travel from the
Mooladhara Chakra towards the Sahasrar Chakra the process of lightening begins. This chakra is
more associated with the physical sense.

5. Floral Form (Pushpa Prateek): Mooladhara Chakra is represented by red coloured lotus of four
petels. These represent the four functions of the psyche:

mind (Manas),

intellect (Buddhi),

consciousness (Chitta) and

ego (Ahamkara)

all of which originate in this Mooladhara Chakra.

These are the important points but some more is to be understood about the Mooladhara Chakra.
Let us study tomorrows Brahmakamal.

Hari Om.

One single Mooladhara Chakra has several dimensions. Master, Seven trunks, Colour Element, Lotus
with specific Number of petals, are very importsnt but along with these things, some more
parameters are associated with the Mooladhara Chakra. Let me just put them up for your
knowledge.

Other symbol of Muladhara Chakra is the inverted triangle, which represents two things:

1. It indicates that the cosmic energy is attracted and guided downward direction. As we pour
water in the funnel, similarly the cosmic energy is poured into you through the activation of this
chakra.

2. Another sense is the upward expansion of the consciousness. The seeds of the past lives are
representing the pin point of the triangle and the extended upward side indicates the unfolding of
the Consciousness.

Life is consciousness and consciousness strives for evolution. The symbols of the Muladhara Chakra
are characteristic of both energy and upward movement.

Also Mooladhars Chakra has many more dimensions, let me put them for your knowledge.

a. Planet (Graha): Mars

b. Day (Divas): Tuesday

c. Symbol (Chinnha): Swastik

d. Representing Stone: Coral (Powale)

e. Organs Innervated: Prostate Gland, Penis, Testes, Ovaries, Uterus, .
Urinary Bladder, Kidnies.

f. Qualities (Guna): Innocence, Purity, Wisdom, and Courage.

g. Sensory Portions: Heels (Back Portion of Heels), the joining are of the palms and the Wrist, and
on the back parts of the Head.

Some time we will coordinate these parameters with the sadhana avastha. But now it is the time for
our practical sadhana. I know several of you are involved in the process of deep belly breathing and
you are already doing it for 5 minutes now.

Let us be more practical now on the workout of the sadhana marga, and let us begin with the
sadhana of the Mooladhara Chakra.

I want to put it up in accordance with all the three paths, the Bhakti Marga, Yoga Marga and the
Dnyana Marga. We will again begin on the practical with the deep breathing and then touch the
actual activating parameters of the Mooladhara Chakra.

Mldhra Ganesha Vandan

Hari Om.

I am very happy to begin with the sadhana of The Mooladhara Chakra. The Swami of Mooladhara
Chakra is Ganesh, the master fo the Ganas, that are the Neurons.

Let us Pray lord Ganesha Before our sadhana for the Mooladhara Chakra begins. Let us imagine the
Ganesha in the form described in the Atharvashirsha.

Ekadantam Chaturhastam Pashmankushdharinam |

Ekadantam:

You have one prominent teeth, which is sharp enough to continuously poke me and bring back to
the path of Sadhana whenever I get diverted from my Path.

Chaturhastam:

You are said to be Chaturhasta, the one with four hands, as per the four petals of the Mooladhara
Rakta Kamal (Blood red Lotus). Each of your hand is responsible for the control of our Mind,
Intellect, Consciousness and ego.

Hey Chaturhasta (My Lord with Four hands) you are toe one who calms down my mind when I want
to begin my sadhana and spiritual workout. Focusing on you, my mind is more focused and the belief
in you helps me prevent myself from diverting.

Hey Ganesha, I have started my sadhana to achieve the goal of Atmadnyana. But I want to gain the
capacities to achieve it. I request you to improve my intellect for understanding the parameters told
to me by my Sadguru for my sadhana.

When I am in the phase of my Sadhana, you are the one which protect me from the state of
unconsciousness. I request you to protect my consciousness in the complete course of my sadhana.

Hey Ganesha, you are to one who is going to inhibit the building of the ego. Let me forget myself and
dissolve in you, as sugar dissolves in milk, completely forgetting its own existence and making a
sweet combination.

Pashmankushdharinam:

Lord Ganesha, You hold Pash in one of your hands, This Pasha is the string which holds oneself in
discipline. I request you to hold me strictly in the discipline of the sadhak avastha. Another of your
hands holds an Ankush which can also be described as the Spear or Spike which helps us learning
self control.

Hey ganesha with your blessings and my Sadgurus teachings, now I have started recognizing my
stage of anger. Now I understand, that I am angry and I started controlling myself.

This has happened because of the Ankusha led by you on my soul and the physical personality as
well. It also helps me cutting hte bonds of attachment.

Hari Om.

Radam Cha Varadam Hasteirbibhranam Mushakadhwajam |

Hey Ganesha one of your hand holds the broken white teeth of the elephant. This is the symbol to
help me understand the tatwas, and have complete faith in my sadhana and my Sadguru. Single
tooth in your hand indicated one single focus and saves me from the duel mentality.

Also as i have started worshiping you, I have lost the duel thought and the confusion between my
body and soul and I have started believing in the soul which is immortal.

I bow before you for you have ended the duel mentality I had and you are the one to bring me
towards one single belief.

The most important and soothing feeling for me is your Varadhasta, which tells me, be calm and just
proceed in your sadhana, I am behind you to support you for your complete sadhana, and therefore
your varadhasta is also known as the Abhayahasta.

Hey Ganesha, You are holding the Mushakdhwaja in your hand forwarded for blessing us. This is the
dnyana pataka, the flag of knowledge.

Mushaka, the rat is one of the greediest animal. It keeps nibbling at everything available. Keeps
cutting and eating every possible thing. Actually thinking, the rats teeth keeps growing continuously
and it has to continuously bite something to keep it shortened. Rat keeps eating and nibbing but it is
never satisfied, like that of the our senses, which are never satisfied. Our senses keep craving all the
time for new experiences, new tastes. If they are not controlled, they keep growing forever.

Hence the Mooshakdhwaja indicates us to sit on our senses and control them so as to never get lost
in the greedy things and keep walking on the Sadhana marga.

All my beloved ones, please understand that Ganesha is the god who begins your sadhana and he is
the one who makes you walk on the sadhana marga. Trust me, my Gurudeva, Shree Vasudevanand
Saraswati Swami Maharaj has taught me why and how to believe Lord Ganesha. Because of this I
have immense love for Ganesha. All the rooms of my home contain idols of ganesha in different
forms and they keep reminding me about my sadhana. Keeps me always on the ground and reminds
me to sit on my senses, and control them consciously.

My Ganesha tells me continuously of not being greedy and provides me immense satisfaction from
my life and sadhana. Let us pray him to bless us in the Sadhana marga.

Mldhra Ganesha Upsan

Hari Om.

Let us continue understanding Ganesha, who is the Vaidik God. He is the lord who has initiated our
Sadhana. Ganpatya is the sampradaya which represents the group of the people who used to
worship ganesha.

Further in the Atharvashirsha, Gnesha is described as:

Raktam Lambodaram Shurpakarnakam Raktavasasam l

Let me tell you, Red is the warmest colour you can trust. It indicates extrovert behaviour. Although it
also represents temper and anger, it is the colour of Prosperity and joy. It also indicates passionate
love.

Red colour is associated with fiery heat and warmth. It also prevents you doing wrong things. Red
colour of blood is great symbol of Life and vitality. It helps you focusing on the essence of life and
emphasize you for lively survival.

Deep Blood red colour of Ganesha indicates:

1. Increased enthusiasm and interest.

2. More energy

3. Action and Confidence to go after your dreams

4. Protection from fears and anxieties.

When it comes to the sadhana, Ganapati is trusted for several reasons. Ganesha is the one who
arises in different forms and keeps the interest and enthusiasm alive in the process of sadhana. He is
Raktam- red, the one who is the energy of life, blood and sadhana. The warmth of the energy can be
felt by the sadhakas during the sadhana, and there can be gentle heating between the two
eyebrows, when the energy gathers here.

Ganesha is the one who attacks our fears and helps ending our anxieties during the process of the
sadhana.

Our upasya is known as Lambodara. Although it is the storage of the past, present and future, the
name Lambodara or Mahodara also refers to the sadhana done through Belly breathing. Dont
forget, Ganesha is the one who has immense capacity of performing the Kumbhaka.

Let us not forget, that our sadhana begins at the Mooladhara Chakra with Belly breathing. As we
proceed forward, our capacity to master the breathing process increases drastically and the
kumbhakavastha is improved as well, where the breath is stored in the belly without any pressure or
tension. Even the use of the throat is not needed for holding the breath in kumbhaka.

Let me explain you this concept some other time.

Ganapati is also known as Shurpakarna, not only because he has large ears due to the elephant
head, but it is because of the sense ok keen observance. He is the one who make you focus on your
sadhana, and a time comes where you are so much focused that you start hearing the sound of
Anahata. Ganesh is the one who makes you listen the anaahat naad for you further travel.

The next explanation of Ganapati is RaktaVasasam! The one who mixes in your blood and stays
circulating along your body as the vital energy. Ganapati is the energy which moves all along your
body, and the vital strength is provided to each and every part of the body by his presence in the
blood.

This indication for the Ganesha is amazing. He is called Raktavasasam, the one who stays in your
blood, circulates in the body and all the functions attributed to the blood are performed by Ganesha.
The Maarut Shakti, which enters your body through the belly breathing process mixes with the blood
and it is supposed that the brahmachaitanya is circulated all over the body by Ganesha.

Reaching each and every fine part of the body, he removes all the ill elements and completely
purifies you. The brahmachaitanya is forwarded along with the oxygen to all the living cells of the
body, and along with the soul, the complete body is energized by the chaitanya shakti of Ganesha.

When our sadhana begins, the complete body is energized with the purity, and every cell of the body
starts working in synergism, enriching the zeal of the Atmik sadhana, the boredom- monotony-
dullness-tediousness is expelled out of the body by Ganesha and the paramananda, the enjoyment
of the sadhana begins with the blessings of Ganesha.

Raktagandhanu liptangam Rakta pushpaih supujitam l

Ganesha is the energizer, and the energy in him is represented by red colour. He is bathed in the
deep red raktagandha. All parts of his body are coated with the Raktagandha, means, he is the one
who energizes each and every part of our body.

Hey Lord Ganesha, let me pray you with the Red flowers you love. You are the lover of the energy,
enthusiasm, and the force and power for leaving. One who loses the power should therefore pray
lord Ganesha for re-energizing himself.

Lord Ganesha is the one who loves offerings filled with energy, and same is the Modak, the ball filled
with energy and the energy is directed in the upward direction, as we know the shape of Modak.
This Modak is filled with the sugar which is again the ready form of energy. Let us pray him, and
during the payers let us use deep red coloured flowers so that our prayers, our sadhana is energized,
blessed and directed.

Mldhra Chakra Ganapati Poojan

After knowing the Ganesh Swaroop, the symbolism of Ganesha, let us turn towards another
important aspect of our practicing, that is Practical workout on the Ganesh Sadhana, that is
worshiping Ganesha by the three important ways: Bhakti Marga, Yoga marga and the Dhyana marga.

Ganesh pooja and Archana is the main path of Bhakti marga, where we pray Ganesh, the Aaradhya
of the Mooladhara chakra and the Upasya of all the chakras.

The best ever explanation of Ganesh sadhana is in the Tripurtaapini Upanishad. This Upanishad prays
Ganesha as:

Hey Ganesha, Please Come! Come and stay in our heart. We are not offering you the Brahmaasan,
but what we are offering you to sit is our hruday, the heart. We believe that your seat isonly in our
heart and nowhere else. Hey Ganesha, please come and sit in our heart! The greatest prayer id
described as:

Om Gananam Twam Ganapatim Hawamahe l

Priyanam Twam Priyapatim Havamahe l

Nidhinaam Twam Nidhipatim Hawamahe l Waso Mama ll

The lord is described as Brahmanaspati it means he is the master of mind and Knowledge!

Taittiriya Aranyak dpells Ganeshgayatri as:

Tatpurushaya Vidmahe l Vakratundaya Dheemahi l Tanno Dantihi Prachodayat ll

As we begin now with our sadhana, our beginning of the day should be with the Ganesh darshan.
Just observe him and try to grasp the happiness of the Ganesh darshan. Pray him saying:

Sumukhschaikadantaschya Kapilo Gajakarnakaha l

Lambodarascha Vikato Vighnanasho Vinayakaha ll

Dhoomraketurganadhyaksho Bhalachandro Gajananaha l

These are the 12 names of Ganesha you need to pronounce daily as you get up in the morning.
These help getting you the greatest blessings from Ganesha.

As you begin with Ganesh upasana, all your efforts become powerful and enriched. Along with this
you can perform all the tasks of Ganesh pooja including Atharvashirsha, Abhishek, Poojan, archan,
offering him Durva and red flowers and the naivedya.

Whenn it comes to the Ganesh pooja, I say it is more of the celebration and we enjoying praying this
god of happiness, who also initiates our travel towards the Yoga marga. Let me talk about the yogik
sadhana in next brahmakamal.

Brahmakamal 48

Mldhra Chakra Sdhan

After Ganesh Poojan, darshan, and gungaan, let me take you towards the yogik part of the upasana
and Sadhana.

During the process of Sadhana, what we need is the confidence in our Masters, that is Shraddha in
our Guru. One must understand that when we begin our sadhana, we are like the tender shoots of
the creepers and our guru stands erect to supports us to reach the higher levels of achievements.
Our guru supports us in our actual spiritual development.

The Beeja mantra of Mooladhar Chakra is LUM and this sound is considered to be the sound of our
spiritual awakening. What I personally believe is, we can practice Om in place of LUM. Only the
practice of routine OM and when we practice it for the Mooladhara Chakra varies.

For our general practice of OMkar we our Akar and Ukar is to be 50 % and the Makar is to be 50%.
That is half the time of OMkar is given for O and half time is given for pronouncing M closing
down the lips.

But During the OMkar Sadhana for the Mooladhara Chakra, this OMkar is to be done in a
differential way. Here the O is to be 90 % and the M just 10 percent. I will explain you how to
practice OMkar in Mooladhara sadhana, but understand certain things before that.

When we sit for the sadhana of Mooladhara Chakra, sit on ground or a chair, but observe that the
heel of your left leg is pressed in the perineum area (The area between the anus and Penis or vagina)
this creates pressure on the mooladhara and it is pushed slightly in the upward direction.

This is believed to bring the Mooladhara more closer to the place of Kundalini, and at the same time,
when the deep OMkar is taken, the pressure created by the deep belly breathing further
compresses the Mooladhara chakra.

This actually initiates the sadhana of the Mooladhara chakra.

Sitting in this position, start belly breathing. Pull the breath deep in the belly. But this breathing must
not be vigorous, it has to happen slowly. The complete filling of the belly should take approximately
5 seconds. If you will forcefully deep breath, you will again face the problem of acidity and gastric
problems. Be gentle and begin the sadhana in calm and quiet way.

Dont be tense. Just relax and begin. Dont get over conscious during this breathing. For initiating this
sadhana I suggest you to get up early or sit in the night when you are all alone and no one disturbs
you.

For coming out of the Anxiety, just lay in a sleeping position, relaxed. (Shavasana) and deep breath
for about 3 minutes. This will relax you and then sit on your left heel pressing on the Perineum.

Now today for the first day of the Mooladhara Sadhana, just sit in this position for 3 minutes and
perform your routine deep breathing practice.

We will work out with the Omkar of the Mooladhara Sadhana in the next Brahmakamal.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Brahmakamal 49

Mldhra Chakra Sdhan

Hari Om!

A proper OMkar releases the tensions and the blockages in the Mooladhara Chakra and activates its
energy. Understand few physiological aspects of the Mooladhara Sadhana.

Mooladhara is the chakra, which indicates that it rotates in a particular direction. How do we judge
the movements of this chakra? Is it located horizontally or vertically and it is moving clockwise or
anticlockwise?

Really isnt it confusing? Never thought of this. Right?

The movements of the Chakra are like the movements of the electron in an atom. As an electron
moves in random direction around the nucleus, it rotates around as a sphere and keeps moving
continuously in a particular motion, similar is the energy movement in the chakra. This energy is
conserved into the rhythmic concentric circles.

As we cannot neglect the tremendous energy stored in an atom, similarly we cannot neglect the
huge energy stored in a particular chakra. Mooladhara is the first to get activated and the process
begins.

The movement of the Chakra is in coordinated by the neurons, and the neuronal discharges, which is
a physiological process. It also has impact of the respiratory rhythm on it. When in normal course of
life, our belly breathing reduces and we keep breathing by chest, the belly muscles weaken, and the
Mooladhara force is also reduced.

Once we start practicing the Belly breathing again, our Mooladhara chakra gets potentiated and its
activity normalizes. Hence it is very important to breath in a particular fashion described by Gurudev,
Vasudevanand Saraswati Swami maharaj.

He says, regulate the time of breathing. Dont hurry on the process. Belly breathing is blowing the
fire in the closed nut shell of Mooladhara. Over blowing may set fire and you may feel hot in your
tummy.

Regulate your belly breathing in gentle way. The first thing required is, the breath must go in the
same speed and strength as it has come. The force, strength, speed and way should all be equal
when we breath deep inside the belly. To maintain and achieve an equilibrium in your breath,
initially deep breathing of 5 seconds becomes very difficult.

This is because the breath can be released slowly for about 5 or more seconds, but inhaling the
breath with the same slow motion and speed is very difficult initially.

You will notice that the process on inhaling is quiet fast and the process of exhalation is slower, and
you can control it for longer time, but try to build an equilibrium in the two processes.

It is not the quantity but the quality of work we do in the belly breathing process.

1. Inhale for 3 seconds. (your Belly should turn out as you breath in)

2. Exhale for 3 seconds. (The breath should be released in the same speed as that of the
Inhalation.)

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate.

18.05.2014 Vaishakh Krushna Chaturthi.

Brahmakamal 50

Mldhra Chakra Sdhan

Hari Om!

What is balancing?

Balancing is the equilibrium in two processes. Although we are breathing for so many days, still we
breath unconsciously most of the time in our life. Always understand one thing, we have to
consciously train our brain in any process, and then automatically the things are taken on their own
due to the practice.

Just let me remind you the table of two again. In the childhood we have mugged the table of Two
so many times, and still we were incorrect so many times. But with the practice now, we are perfect
with the table of two, although we are not in touch with the table. Suddenly if someone asks you
two eights are? And you say sixteen, because practice has attributed the function to the part of brain
where the thinking is not required, it comes automatically.

Similar is the concept of belly breathing in the process of Sadhana. Once you start practicing it, make
a point that whenever you are free, you are just inhaling the breath for 3 seconds and exhaling it for
next three seconds, in the same speed, force and depth.

Slowly it will be automatically achieved, and in normal circumstances, your breathing process will be
set for three seconds inhalation and three seconds exhalation by belly. It has to be practiced so
much that the breathing cycle of three seconds each is automatically set. Once your breathing is
balanced, it also start balancing the Mooladhar chakra.

This chakra starts balancing when you do it for the same time period, and the balanced movement
help you maintaining the homeostasis of the body, without getting any disturbances. The aatmik
sadhana begins with deep belly breathing and it proceeds towards the process of Samadi. The word
Samadhi comes from the concept of Sama that is equal. It is the completion of the equilibrium of
all the process of body physiology and sadhana.

Therefore, during the initiation of the Sadhana in the Mooladhara Chakra, we need to achieve
equilibrium in the process of breathing. Once this is achieved, then we have to go for the Kumbhaka
of 3 seconds.

Let us actually work out this process of belly breathing with Kumbhaha..

1. Inhale for 3 seconds. (your Belly should turn out as you breath in)

2. Hold the breath in your belly for next three seconds. (Do not inhale or exhale the breath for
three seconds)

3. Exhale for 3 seconds. (The breath should be released in the same speed as that of the
Inhalation.)

Let us revise. Sitting by pressing the heel on the perineum to get the downward pressure is the first
step.

Breathing in the specific ratio of 3:3:3 seconds is the second step.

We will work out on the third step of Mooladhara Sadhana in next Brahmakamal.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Hari Om Shree Rahul Phate.

Brahmakamal 51

Mldhra Chakra Sdhan and Ndies:

Hari Om!

Now as we are proceeding towards the Mooladhara sadhana, we need to understand some more
concepts. The 3 seconds equilibrium of breathing and Kumbhaka once is achieved, we need to focus
on the three Nadies: Ida, Pingala and Sushumna.

These three are known as the Nadies! In English you can call them Nerves. For yogic sciences, there
are three main Nadies, Ida lies to the left of the spine, Pinglala is on the right of the Spine and
Sushumna runs through the centre of the spinal cord.

These Nadies carry the force of energy (Praan Shakti). Actual Active Praan Shakti flows in the Pingala
and the passive Praan Shakti flows through the Ida. They are known as Praan and Apaan. Sushumna
is the path for the flow of the energies, when Kundalini Energy is activated. The Nadies have
extrasensory functions.

The Yogic Scriptures spell that there are 72000 Nadies. These are the energy channels. As long as the
mind is involved in the external maters, only Ida and Pingala are active. But once the mind becomes
calm, as with the meditation the thought processes are channelized, the central canal, that is the
Sushumna awakens. This gives us immense joy. The travel along the Sushumna is the Anandyatra
and this Ananda, Joy cannot be compared with any joy achieved through any sensory reflexes.

The joy of Ida and Pingala are the physical feelings and the joy of Sushumns is referred to as the
Anubhooti.

Pingala: It is the path flow for the active energy of the body. This active energy is referred to as the
Praan Shakti. It is the Active Naadi and it corresponds to the right hand side of the body and
the Left brain. It is assumed to be the surya Naadi (Associated with the solar plexuses). It is more
powerful, hot and aggressive like sun, with male characteristics. It is also referred as Yamuna. It
controls the vital processes. Originating in the Mooladhara it ends in the right Nostril.

Ida: It is the path for the flow of the Passive energy, the Apaan Shakti. It corresponds with the left
hand side of the body and represents the right Brain. I is said to be associated with the Chandra
Shakti (Lunar energy) Ida is actually Comfort in Sanskrit. It has cooling effect. Also referred to as
Ganga. It controls the mental processes. Originating in the Mooladhara it ends in the left Nostril.

Sushumna: This is the actual path through which the Mooladhara Chakra is connected with the
Sahasrar Chakra. It playes its major role when the mind is quietened. That is why we Pray Sadguru
Dattatraya :

Shant Ho Shree Guru Datta- Mama Chitta Shamavi Aata

Chitta Shaman is the tranquil mind, quietened one.

Let me remind you, Ida and Pingala are the two nadies, which when are in active state, gives us
vision to observe, learn and experience the inner world, But Sushumna is not at all concerned with
the External matters, it is completely focused on the inner vision, and as the experiences of Ida and
Pingala are the bodily experiences, the experiences of Sushumna are associated with the Atmik
vision and the Atmik experiences.

Let us study the Sushumna in detail in next Brahmakamal.

Brahmakamal 52

Mldhra Chakra Sdhan: Sushumn Activation

Hari Om!

When we are diverting towards Sadhana, the Spiritual Practice, the changes in the personality, and
overall mind happen once the Sushumna is awakened. This basically gives calming feeling and the
mind is diverted towards the inner world.

This starts happening because the flow of Ida and Pingala is diverted towards Sushumna. This helps
removing the distractions and the Sadhana and meditation becomes automatically peaceful.

Till now we used to hear about the awakening of the Kundalini, and now we mean to say that we
want to awaken our Sushumna. Ya its right. Kundalini awakening is the later stage, basically we need
to awaken our Sushumna first.

Now you will feel, oh its true, but how do we awake our Sushumna?

Gurudev says, Awakening of Sushumna happens with the Breath awareness. This happens when the
breath starts flowing freely through both nostrils, where the mind becomes calm and quiet.

That is why I say that the breath synchronization is very important in the Mooladhara Sadhana.
Actually we need to practice the breathing in a way remembering following tips:

1. As you breath in, you should breath out.
2. As much you breath in, You should breath out that much.
3. As many seconds you breath in, that many seconds you should breath out.
4. Force of air while breathing in must be the same as that of the force breathing out.
5. Belly movements must be in the similar fashion while breathing in and breathing out.
6. Moreover, to open up both the nostrils, before we start the breathing , Later we are going to
begin with Pranayama. We will learn the Pranayama later for this purpose.
As we begin with this, and the breathing balance is achieved, the mind calms down and the Tranquil
condition is achieved. Such mental condition is necessary for our mind to travel into the deep levels
of consciousness. This is required in the meditative processes, because if this is not focused upon,
the mind does not remain steady and it cannot enjoy the Happiness of the spiritual practices.

Deep and steady breathing helps controlling the thought processes and the diversions in the
sadhana can be restricted through these simple processes.

Also with your deep and balanced breathing, you need to keep your head, neck and trunk in a
straight line. Sitting straight will inhibit the uneasiness in the Spinal cord and the Central,
Sympathetic and parasympathetic ganglionic cords are co-ordinated.

I know I have to explain you the details of these physiological scientific structures. We will continue
in the next brahmakamal for the detailed study of the same.

Mldhra Chakra Sdhan: Sushumn Activation

Hari Om!

We have already studied that the Sushumna Naadi is located Centrally along the spinal cord. If you
observe you can see that Sushumna divides into anterior and posterior portions above the Vishuddhi
Chakra, that is near the Larynx.

These two portions of Sushumna terminate in the ventricular cavity of the brain, which is known as
the Brahmarandhra , the Cavity of Brahma.

We know that Ida and Pingala also travel along the Sushumna, but they do not travel till the
Brahmarandhra, they end up in the left and right Nostrils respectively. Before ending they crisscross
each other, this crisscross junction actually is referred to as the Vishuddhi Chakra.

Ida and Pingala join at a point opposite the forehead between the two eyebrows, Called Adnya
Chakra. At this point is present a small but significant ganglion called Ganglion of Ribes. Ida going
around this ganglion reaches the left nostril and Pingala goes around it and ends in right nostril.

Hence when we are concerned with the Activation of Sushumna, there are several ways of activating
it. These can be identified as:

1. Beginning the sadhana with Pranayama.

2. Breathing in and out in equilibrium.

3. Focusing our mind on the Chakra Sadhana, which I am going to clarify in further parts, and

4. Concentrating in between the two eyebrows. ( But this has to be avoided by the sadhakas in the
initial days as it may build more tension in mind. This should only be done after Gurus advise and the
proper way to focus upon it.)

5. After the breathing equilibrium is achieved, as we begin with the equilibrium Kumbhaka, the
Kumbhak pressure developed in right way activated the Sushumna,

6. Above all these, the basic and most powerful source of activating the Sushumna is the Guru
mantra!

The diversion and diversification of the mind can only be prevented with the Sushumna awakening
procedures. As and when the Sushumna is activated, the situation makes us focus more on our
internal discipline.

More over when we are depressed or are in emotional stress the Saadhana with Mooladhara Chakra
and with Sushumna brings you out of the stress. Also one must notice that when we are in the
breath with Sushumna, the Knowledge of Intuition is also received in a better way.

For achieving control on the Sushumna, you should have capacity to change the breath with your
mental ability according to your wish and desire. People talk of many things, but Gurudev asks me to
focus on the left and right Nostril. If the nostril is blocked, not because of the reason like sinuses, just
focusing through our mind will activate it. With practice as you can change the flow of the nostrils
according to your mind, slowly a time will come when both the nostrils begin flowing evenly. This
may take some months of year.....

Once the Even flow of the nostrils is achieved, worries go away, as now you are disconnected with
the senses in the particular stage of meditation. You reach the actual Anandavastha under such
situation.

Exactly focus on this. This is the right path shown by Gurudev to meditate in scientific way.

Mldhra Chakra Sdhan and Balanced Sushumn

Hari Om!

The workout with sushumna is very important. Without it, the deep the deep meditation is not
possible. Let me tell you, Samadhi is the form of Deep meditation itself.

As I told you that focusing on the Adnys chakra, that is in between the two eyebrows has to be
avoided as it may create more tensions and the meditation may get distracted in the initial stages,
the focus has to be on the bridge between the two nostrils.

Focusing on the bridge between the two nostrils, the mind should be concentrated upon the free
breathing through both the nostrils. No external pressure is required on any part of body when the
mind is focused on the equilibrium breathing. This practice is the only way which takes you towards
the deepest stage of meditation, that is Samadhi.

If we think about the aims of the meditative procedures, the only two achievable are the
strengthening of the Sushumna and Awakening of Kundalini. The functioning of Sushumna only takes
us towards the deepest part of Meditation.

Let us begin with the practical of Sushumna awakening. Prepare yourself to focus upon the breath.
Feel it between the two nostrils. This will help us to focus awareness on the flow of breath. When
you concentrate on the bridge between the nostrils, you will recognize that both the nostrils are
flowing freely. This particular achievement is called Sandhya. This is the equilibrium between Ida
and Pingala.

Remember one very important thing, If you are capable of maintaining this position of equilibrium of
Ida and Pingala, you have crossed a great barrier and the mind has achieved the focus and
concentrating level which is referred to as Ekroopata the feeling of oneness and now you have
better capacities to focus on your inward awareness.

Once you are in the activated state of Sushumna, the diversions of the mind are lost, and your inner
journey begins. This inward journey track travels through three achievement stages:

1. Activation of the Sushumns

2. Awakening of Kundalini Shakti

3. Atmadnyan (Knowledge of Absolute)

But these are the absolute ways of working out with the Yoga System. At this point we must
understand that we are on track of the journey which is very scientific, at the same time it is the
path blessed and Guided by Sadguru Dattatreya.

This path is a simultaneous application of the Bhakti, Yoga and Dnyan Marga. What ever we are
learning about the Mooladhara chakra, Ida, Pingala and Sushumna are the parts of Yoga marga, but
if this is not synchronized with the Bhakti and dnyan marga, again we will only be involved in the
mechanical processes and the ultimate goal is not achieved.

Let us synchronize it with the Bhakti and Dnyan Marga in next Brahmakamal.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Brahmakamal 55

Mldhra Chakra Sdhan and the Bhakti Mrga

Hari Om!

The practices of the yoga marga are purely mechanical in one sense. Otherwise these practical
processes are the only parameters to achieve the actual Aatmadnyan. But when we perform it only
in a mechanical way, we go on becoming rigid and the emotional support and the calmness of mind
is not achieved.

When we talk about the equilibrium breathing and achieving focus and concentration, one part of
the spiritual workout is definitely achieved, but other part where you are also filled with Love is
not achieved.

This is why, when the teachers of Yoga shastra just explain the path of yogic workouts to the
Disciples-sadhakas, they are not achieving the complete goal and get restricted in the spiritual
workout with ego and false self confidence, because the thought and concept of Submission is not
enforced.

The first principle of the Bhakti marga is Submission. A spiritual practitioner and Sadhak cannot
achieve the final stage without the feelings of submission. Here comes the role of Bhakti-Marga.

My Gurudev, Shree Vasudevanand Saraswati Swami Maharaj has explained me the path of
submission. He says, Rahul, if you are not submitting completely, you have the feeling of doing the
things on your own. Slowly as if you start achieving the goals in yoga marga, you feel you have
achieved, you are superior and then a thought goes developing in your mind...I am even superior to
my Guru.

You start getting a feeling, oh! I have achieved a lot and now let me guide many people. Let me
perform as a guru. Then you yourself decide that you have achieved the position of Guru and you get
encircled in the threads of your ego which forma a cocoon like a silkworm. You get tied up, and your
journey stops.

In this phase, you are self centered, not in the inner way, but in the external way. So never get
involved into all those things, never focus on yourself, never think you have achieved, and have a
pure feeling of Submission.

Many a times our self ego is so high that we even miss out understanding our Guru. When your ego
is powerful you even have two feelings in your mind, whether you should bow in front of someone
or not. This kills you.

Gurudev explains me, when you have a person who has knowledge, never compare yourself with
him. You may be superior in one sense, but the other person can be superior in many other aspects,
try to extract good of him (Gunagraahi).

To explain this he has forced we to be in love of my Aaradhya. He says dont be on the mechanical
path, be on the path of love when you are travelling spiritually. Love your Aaradhya and be under
the process of complete submission.

Before we think and understand this, we need to understand one of the prayers made by Gurudev,
Which is part of Karuna-Tripadi!

Prrthana: The concept of Karuna:

Hari Om!

Karuna Tripadi is the prayer of Gurudev Datta which activates our Adnya chakra and also calms
down our thought processes and kills our ego. Karuna Tripadi is written by Gurudev Shri
Vasudevanand Saraswati Swami Maharaj. His orientation of writing this was to pray Dattatraya from
the heart, with complete submission and help travelling the sadhaka without ego.

Lot many stories are said about the writings of Karuna Tripadi. It is a script of three poetry songs
sung before the sadhana. Although many stories are told, let us not enter into the stories, but go
into the actual thought why Gurudev has written it. His orientation was to take us towards complete
submission.

Let me tell you About the word Karuna You will be surprised to know that it is a Chinese word. The
word of Indian origin, travelled to China and accepted as Mercy.

As that of Hinduism , it is also accepted in Buddhism and Jainism. In Buddhism, Home of Karuna is
attaining the happiest phase of live being surrendered and protected. It is a co-request for becoming
Bodhisatva.

According to the scripts of Hinduism, Karuna = Compassion- sympathy- empathy- Concern-
Kindness- Consideration- Care Mercy- leniency- Pity.

Karuna is that which makes the heart of the good move at the pain of others. It crushes and destroys
the pain of others; thus it is called Karuna. It shelters and embraces the distressed. It is the desire
to remove harm and Sufferings.

When we ask our deity for Karuna, Compassion, we also need to inculcate the same concept within
our self. That is the basic concept of leniency we need to achieve during our spiritual journey.

This begins with the feeling of Sameness between you and others. We need to understand that
we all same in joys and sorrows. Thus you have to be the guardian, protector of all as that of
yourself.

Different beings, in their joys and sorrows are like me, and everyone wants happiness. My pain must
not be felt by others but I am in pain which cannot be beard by me. Give me capacities to feel the
pain of others. I should be in condition to feel the pain of others as if it is mine.

This prayer to the Almighty Gurudev Datta is asking his Karuna and filling our self with the same
Karuna, where as gurudev Datta understands our sufferings and feelings of pain, we should also be
in condition to understand the pain and difficulties of others.

This actually makes you human.

Try to inculcate these feelings in yourself, and you will be enlightened!

Let us understand the karuna in form of prayer in next Brahmakamal.

Prrthana: the First Prayer Of Gurudev: Karun Tripadi

Hari Om!

Karuna Tripadi. The greatest prayer for the deity. My Gurudev, Shree Vasudevanand Saraswati
Swami Maharaj has given this Sanjeevani Mantra for the sadhakas to be the greatest souls.

Karuna Tripadi Talks of three songs composed by Gurudev Vasudevanand Saraswati.

1. Shanta Ho Shree Guru Datta, Mama Chitta Shamavi aata.

2. Shree Guru Datta Jay Bhagawanta, te mana Nishthur aata.

3. Jaya Karuna Ghana

is said that once during the Datta Palkhi in Wadi, Datta idol came down of the Palkhi during the
procession. All the people were afraid of the situation and were worried of some horrible
consequences.

Several of them ran to Gurudev Tembe Swami Maharaj, and requested to save them from the rage
of Prabhu Dattatreya. Gurudev explained them the cause of Dattatreyas anger and guided them to
pray Lord Dattatreya through Karuna Tripadi, Since then Karuna Tripadi is sung in Wadi during
every day Datta palkhi.

Let us take each prarthana, one by one for our understanding. The first one is:

Shaant Ho Shree Guru Datta- Mama Chitta Shamavi Aata

Although Gurudev guided people to pray Dattatreya with Karuna Tripadi so as to calm down his
anger, his intension was lot different. He knew that Dattatreya cannot think and do bad for his
followers, but the prayer is in the form which not only asks Karuna from Lord Dattatreya but it also
starts calming down the one who prays.

To explain in other words, Karuna Tripadi Calms you and lowers the Anxiety. It relieves tension and
stress and is supposed to be the best anti stress workout. It is not just a prayer but a form of mantra
for calming down. The words also indicate the same.

The first part of Karuna is asking for Shanti the Tranquillity. Yogis practice working on the
Sushumna for months-years together for achieving the phase of Tranquillity, and the same is
achieved through the Karuna Tripadi.

Guru Maharaj prays Lord Dattatreya as to calm down. Shanta Ho Shree Guru Datta

The prayer has to be looked upon in sense of Bhakti, Yoga and Dnyan Marga. The Bhakti Path asks
Shree Guru Datta to calm down, please never be angry on us. It is he telling the mother, Oh my
mother- why do you get angry? We may make mistakes, but we really love you. Please forgive us.

The Yoga Marga explanation asks for Shanti the achievement of Tranquillity, which can only be
achieved through deep phases of meditation.

Above this, the Dnyan Marga explanation is in the next sentence- Mama Chitta Shamavi Aata I am
not praying only for your calming but am also requesting you to calm me down. Its the request to
travel towards the Aatma Dnyan.

Let us travel with the Meditation Mantra Shanta Ho Shree Guru Datta-Mama Chitta Shamavi Aata

Shnta Ho Shree Guru Datt Mama Chitt Shamavi t!

Hari Om!

The feelings can be achieved, just once hearing the prayer closing down your eyes. Gurudev
explained not to sing this prarthana in hurried manner. He says, calm down and just pray from your
heart and the Tranquillity which is achieved of long yogic practices is achieved just in three minutes.

Shanta Ho Shree Guru Datta-Mama Chitta Shamavi Aata

Hey Dattatreya, Please calm down, and let us go into the phase of Tranquillity. This Tranquillity will
bring us very close to you, and the feeling of anger which comes through the distance will go away,
we will be altogether yours!

Shanta HO!

While praying Lord Dattatraya, Gurudev says,

Tu Kewal Maata Janitaa you are the only mother, You have given birth to us.

Sarwatha Tu hitkarta you are the only well wisher for us.

Tu aapta Swajana Bhrata : You are my relative, friend, subordinate, and my brother!

Sarwatha Tu chi trata: you are the only one who is going to protect us.

Bhaya Karta tu Bhaya harta : You are the one who makes us afraid of several things and you are
the one who takes our care and relieves feelings of fright. You relieve our anxiety.

Danda Dharta tu paripata : You are the one holding stick in your hands to stop us doing wrong
things and guide us walk on the right track.

Tu Arta Ashraya Datta: you understand the depths of my sorrow. You can reach the depths of my
heart and understand me. And he prays, please Calm down!

Gurudev prays Lord Dattatreya explaining himself that he is zero without his Aaradhya, Sadguru
Dattatreya. With this self understanding he also explains himself, in name of Dattatreya, that His
mother, well wisher, relative, friend, subordinate, brother, protector, all the roles are played by Lord
Dattatreya. He is explaining himself that he cannot imagine himself without his Deity.

The purpose of writing all these things is to make you realize that when you are travelling on the
path of Adhyatma you need to get involved in your deity, to the depth of your heart and you must
feel him in you.

When this prayer is said with understanding and feeling each word, the complete sense of travel
changes. We are involved in our Aaradhya and our Aaradhya is involved in us.

With my experience I can tell you, when we Pray our Aaradhya with Karuna Tripadi, and then we sit
for meditation, just focus on your breath and you will experience that the breath achieves very easy
equilibrium and the Sushumna starts working.

We will understand the complete Prarthana and will try to inculcate the feelings to achieve practice
of Sushumna.

Hey Datta, you always predict the wrong things done by us immediately and you have a stick in your
hand to control us. But whenever we make mistakes now, because of your blessings we have at least
reached the stage where we recognize that we have make mistakes.

As soon as we recognize our mistakes, we bow before you and pray for consideration. But still if you
are angry with us, whom are we going to look at? Who will help us under such circumstances? If I
look forward, I have only one master...that is you! In our difficult phases, no one is there tp help us
out. You are the only one.

So, Please dont be angry on us. Please calm down and give us assurance so that we can also calm
down. II Shanta Ho II

Hey Datta, I know this very well that although you are angry on me, I know this anger is a drama. You
are just showing that you are angry, but a mother can never be angry on her son, so you are just
dramatically showing that you are angry on me. But even if you punish us under such circumstances,
we will feel better because we have made mistakes and we are bound to get punishment for the
same.

But now you have to take care that we never commit such mistakes again. But unfortunately if we
commit some mistake, please never get angry on us.

Always think that we are not deliberate doing the mistakes, it was just falling down while walking
towards you, so please dont get angry on us. So please forgive us, shower your blessings on us.

So, Please dont be angry on us. Please calm down and give us assurance so that we can also calm
down. II Shanta Ho II

In the second and third stanza of the prayer, Gurudev convinces Shree Dattatreya on his authority?
No I think he is convincing himself to state that he is no body, he is solely dependent and merged in
Dattatreya, his Aradhya. The duality (Dwaita) is extinguished and by stating this, he is killing his ego,
surrendering 100 % with Dattatreya.

Same is his teaching to us, so as to achieve Dattatreyas Sayyujja. (Oneness)

Let us understand the remaining part of prayer in next Brahmakamal.

Prrthana: the First Prayer Of Gurudev: Karun Tripadi

Hari Om!

Gurudev prays from his heart, and that is why his prarthana is filled with intensity and great
attraction for Dattatreya. When he prays, his words are expressed from heart, in other words, he
prays with the understanding of each and every word. Further in his Karuna Prarthana he says:

Tava padari asatA tAtA, AdamArgi pAul paDatA II

SAmbhALuni mArgAvaratA, AnitA na dujA trAta II

ShAnta ho II

When we have submitted our self with you, now we are not different. Mainly we are your
responsibility now. Once we are under your shade, we have to be pure, but suppose some time we
leave the track and we go on the wrong way, it is your responsibility to bring us back on the right
track.

He prays Dattatreya not to forget him any time. His Aaradhya Lord Dattatreya is the one who lifts all
the one who are fallen down. Now it is the time on us. We are in the deep crests of fear, diverted
from the path. But never be angry. Please consider and Uplift us.

So, Please dont be angry on us. Please calm down and give us assurance so that we can also calm
down. II Shanta Ho II

Now swami Maharaj says, I am not alone your follower, our complete family, Parivar believes in you.
Our complete family is in your service. We think that submitting with you is the success in life.
Understanding this you are caring us you are Ocean of love. We never have to suffer when we are
with you.

Hey data, Vasudeo, your-self is praying you to relieve him from sufferings and involve him in your
sadhana.

So, Please dont be angry on us. Please calm down and give us assurance so that we can also calm
down. II Shanta Ho II

Here is this prarthana, which is altogether different from all the other prayers, and is considered to
be the favourite of lord Dattatreya. This Prarthana is sung traditionally in a fast, rhythmic manner,
but Gurudev has instructed me to sing it with the same depth of feelings.

Once we hear it, we automatically calm down, and the feelings during Sadhana are completely
changed. You can experience this after you listen the Karuna Tripadi.

Ardhy: the First Love & Practical Sdhan

Hari Om!

After learning the concept of Karuna, let us come back to the practical work out of meditation, and
let me explain you the combination of yoga marga and Bhakti marga. It is basically the path of
practicing love and begins with the process of loving our favorite god.

When we are in the Mooladhara Chakra, its loving Lord Ganesha and meditating him in yogic way.

Aaradhya is the god who is the master of Chakra. Again to clarify with, bhagwan Shree Krishna says,
that the master of your karmic chakra in this life is master of your meditative sadhana in last life, and
that is why when we begin with the bhakti of our aaradhya, we get involved in our aaradhya and so
is he.

As we proceed through the bhakti marga, and our yogic sadhana is also continued with the same,
the process of awakening the dormant powers within us begins. This awakening of the dormant
power leads to the conscious feeling of the awakened Aaradhya.

This means the dormant powers within us is our Aaradhya.

Now when we are focusing on our Mooladhara, what actually we have to do? Come out of all the
theories and focus on the practical you have to perform now. Practically following instructions now:

To begin with, understand your Aasana! This is how you should sit. When you are sitting on the
ground, you are not supposed to directly sit on the ground. When you begin with the sadhana with
activation of Sushumna, the energy flow begins through your body. The energy cycles are activated,
and when you directly sit on the ground, it is direct earthing of the energy flowing through you.

You have to take care that you are sitting on the insulated place. Its simple, place a woolen blanket
on the land, put up soft cotton cloth or silk aasana on this woolen blanket and then sit on this.

If possible put up the Darbhasan on the land first, woolen blanket on it and then the cotton or silk
cloth on the blanket. This gives you proper insulation. If you are unable to sit on the ground, make it
more simple, preferably sit n a non metallic chair- best the Wooden chair. Now you have to insulate
two places: Put up woolen blanket on the sitting portion of the blanket and a soft cotton cloth or silk
carpet on it where you will actually sit.

Secondly cover the place with woollen blanket covered by cotton cloth and place your feet on this.
Never place your feet on bare land, this will also damage the energy generated in you. This is very
important says Gurudev.

Once a person went to Gurudev and was insisting him to allow him place his head on Gurudevs feet.
Gurudev never allowed anyone to keep his head on his feet. The person was very angry on this and
started cursing Gurudev. Finally to explain him, Gurudev asked him to come with Jowar the next
morning.

Gurudev came after his bath and he asked that person to throw Jowar on his legs. To his surprise, as
soon as he threw Jowar on Gurudvs Legs, the intense heat popped the jowar to puffed Jowar.

He understood why Gurudev does not allow anyone to put head on his legs.

Similarly when you are performing sadhana, your energies may get lost in the bare land. Please do
follow the insulation process before you sit for the sadhana.

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Dhyn: To Practically Begin With:

Hari Om!

As you decode to sit for the sadhana now, before you begin anything, just sit on your aasana and
relax for two minutes. Practically dont do anything. Just relax. Dont think of doing anything.
Practically be lazy.

Now the beginning of the sadhana is with remembering our mother and father. This is what Gurudev
insists. He says, your mother and father the first Deities. You are in this world because of them, and
their blessings are going to be the most powerful when you begin your Sadhana.

If your Perents are living with you, practically go for Praying them, have a grand Namaskara and then
come and sit for the sadhana, and even after that, when you sit on your Aasana for the meditation,
first remember them, pray them and then begin your further proceedings.

The next step is remembering and praying your Guru. Remember, Guru is not your Aaradhya. He is
the one who is going to guide you on the practical performing and sadhana, and at the same time he
is going to be the one who is going to take your care whenever you get diverted from the track of
your Sadhana.

Sit on your asana in calm position and pray your Parents and Guru. Your Parmarthik Guru is your
Gurudev, the one who teaches you how to walk on the sadhana marga. Just feel your guru near you.
Feel you are with him, very close to him, and slowly as you do this a time will come when you can
feel him breathing near you.

I have experienced this many times. The first time when Gurudev asked me to read Dwisahasri Guru
Charitra I was new to this path and journey. I used to read Dwisahasri religiously, but whenever I
was diverted in my own thoughts, I used to get a breeze of beautiful fragrances.

Champaka and Chandana are the two I can remember and differentiate, the other fragrances I have
experienced are unexplainable. But he used to divert me back to my readings and I used to feel as he
is sitting near me when I am reading the Guru Charitra. I am very confident of this act.

This is why I always say, what is the need always to talk on the cell phone? I never require assistance
of telephone of Cell phone to get connected with my Gurudev, then why do you need it? So many
associated with me in this path now can definitely feel that we are together when you are in the
sadhana. We have experienced question answer sessions. Several of the questions are answered
during the sadhana.

So many times we have conversated-interacted without any media between us.

You can even experience this when you will get involved in the meditative processes. So, after you
trust your parents, now you have to trust and believe your guru. Pray him, bow before him, and
humbly ask his permission to begin your sadhana.

Just say Gurudev, Should I begin?

A charm will enter in you as you do this and then begin with your actual sadhana. You will start
feeling fresh. Your sluggishness will go away and you will be filled with enthusiasm as you believe
your guru and pray him.

Now your Sadhana is going to be perfect. I assure You!

Brahmakamal 63

Dhyn: your sitting position and comfort.

Hari Om!

Hey! You are absolutely ready for your Sadhana now. Be alert. Keep yourself on the track now.
When you sit for the dhyan and sadhana, the first important thing is your posture. I have already
explained you about the posture but let us get the fine tuning today.

The first requirement is whenever you are focusing- meditating, your Spinal cord must be straight
but without any stress. Dont stretch your spinal cord to over strain it, otherwise you will have pain
in your back. Your posture has to be absolute, so that even after sitting for hours together, you must
not have any pain in your back.

Now focus on your legs, if you are sitting on the ground, you are crossing your legs. Now place your
heel on the perineum and put your pressure on the left heel. But if you are unable to sit on the
ground, then you have to sit on the chair. While sitting on the chair, put your legs on the blanket, not
directly on the ground.

Placing one heel bellow the perineum is significant, this physically applies pressure on the perineum
to activate the dormant power. In women it is suggested that this pressure be applied on the Labia
majora instead of Perineum, as the exact location of the Mooladhara activation actually differs in
both genders.

While sitting on ground, if it is not possible to sit on the heel below the perineum, then dont bother
initially, just sit plain as if you can. Later we will study how to apply pressure on the perineum while
sitting.

Now take care that when you are meditating, your both thumbs are not touching each other. Place
the heels almost together and the thumbs widely apart. This prevents the intermingling and
whirlpool of the energy near the thumbs. The better way is bring your heels together and the
thumbs wide apart if you are sitting on the chair.

I believe this is not a yoga class. We are not going to get involved in the complete yogic practices.
Our orientation is more towards the meditation, Dhyan and the aatmik sadhana, but we have to
practice some easy steps to achieve the goal.

The basis of this procedure is providing better flow of the energy when you are proceeding in Dhyan.
This is basic requirement and for this you have to keep your spinal cord in straight position. You may
sit on ground or chair, that is unimportant, but keeping your spinal cord in straight position is more
important.

Some important hints doing this:

1. Try to keep both of your shoulders in parallel line.

2. Hold your hands straight and let them cross your knees. Now pull them back and observe that
your fingers are inside the line of your knees. This automatically pulls your chest forward and your
belly breathing becomes more appropriate. The associated diagram shows how to hold your hands
inside your knee line.

3. Now just bend your head, and try to touch your chin to the hyoid bone. Dont push or press your
chin on the hyoid bone. It should be a relaxed posture.

This is the way you should ideally sit for meditation.

Let us decide where we are going to focus in the process of meditation.

Dhyn: Focusing points step by step.

Hari Om!

I consider you have achieved convenience in sitting the right way. If you are sitting in right way, you
wont have back pain or discomfort at all. Those who are not confident sitting on ground for longer
periods, should practice it slowly and must not over stretch. This will divert your mind from
meditation and you will be focusing more on your sitting discomfort. Therefore I always say that it is
more important to sit in comfortable way.

Now let us come to focusing.

What are we going to focus upon? There are several steps to focus upon step by step.

The first focus after praying our parents and Gurudev is to be on the Aaradhya. Dont you think so?
No its absolutely wrong. Focusing on our Deity is the final step in the process of focusing . Before
that begins the Karma Yoga.

This is referred to as Kriya Yoga as well by some followers. Kriya Yoga refers to the Kriya or
Process. What is it actually?

Always remember one thing, when you are meditating, the mind goes through so many thought
processes and the cyclic thinking continues. Some or other thought hits your mind. If you are in
some trouble, the troubling thoughts trouble you a lot. You get disturbed.

If you are not in deep trouble, you are involved in some other thought processes as you sit calm.
Many a times you are thinking about yourself. Suddenly you realize that you are getting in some
thoughts and you alarm yourself!

You fill guilty that you are meditating and so many thoughts are coming to you one after another.
The time when these thought processes reduce, you feel sleepy. And you keep complaining that you
try to meditate but you can not focus fully and you get diverted from the meditative processes.

Basically the thought processes are not reducing.

Why does this happen?

Let me tell you. This is the nature of a human being. When you are free and with yourself, it is
automatic that the thought processes are initiated. The best thing is, you have started recognizing
that the thought processes are troubling you and you want to focus on the meditation.

But how that can happen?

So many people say so many things about meditation. Some say that they actually go into the
thoughtless stage. I say they are lying. They are dishonest. You cannot be thoughtless. Thoughtless
brain is coma.

There is the technique to regulate the thought processes. This is actually called the Yogic Karma of
the brain or the Kriya Yoga.

Just wait for the next Brahmakamal for this authentic process of Yogic Kriya!

Dhyn: Focusing on the process(Kriya).

Hari Om!

When you want to regulate your thoughts, we have seen that we have to focus on the practicing
processes and we have already started working on this. Let me be very clear on this process now.

Till now I hope you have practiced the belly breathing and you should not have difficulties in belly
breathing.

Now after praying your parents and Guru, you have to focus on your nose now. Please understand
that some people may ask you to focus on the centre between the eyebrows. Never do that initially
or till your guru guide you to do that.

You have to focus initially on your nose tip after closing down your eyes.

Relax now. Just be calm and breath normally without any counting, but this should be the belly
breathing. Now you are supposed to focus upon the nose tip and feel the breath touching the bridge
between the two nostrils. Now here are some practical and very important instructions to be very
practical.

1. When we talk of breathing, we are always bound to go for belly breathing. As belly breathing
indicates, Belly breathing means belly to protrude out when we are breathing in.

2. This can be done two ways, to breath in enforcing through the nose and belly turns out after the
breath. This is not what we expect. We expect first the movement of the belly and then the breath
coming inside simultaneously. We have to practice breathing with the belly.

3. Now synchronize your movements of belly in slow motion so that the breath in flows in your
lungs. There must not be in-synchronization between belly movement and breathing, both the
processes must happen simultaneously.

4. Now focus on the bridge between your nostrils. Now when you are breathing with your belly,
feel the breath on the nose bridge. One most important thing you have to notice that the flow of
breath should be equal from both the nostrils.

5. For this your nose has to be clear. Congestion in the nose may obstruct your equilibrium of
breathing. Never be very aggressive on clearing your nose. Blowing the nose forcefully may damage
the blood vessels in the nose which can be another obstruction for equilibrium breathing.

6. Pranayam, where you go for Anulom and Vilon can help clearing the nose, but along with that I
want to clarify certain medicinal aspects so that you can practice it regularly.

Let me explain you the stuffing of nose and the different parameters involved. We will also try to
understand different procedures for clearing the nose and medicines as well.

Dhyn: Clear un-obstructed nose.

Hari Om!

A stuffy or congested nose occurs when the tissue lining it becomes swollen. This swelling is
generally due to the inflamed blood vessels. This problem many a times may also associated with the
runny nose if excess mucus runs back of your throat. This is called as Postnasal drip. It may cause
cough or Sour throat.

Stuffy nose may be caused by Common cold, Flue, or sinus infection, or some allergens entering the
respiratory tract through breath. The best home care of treating blocked nose is finding the ways
through which the mucus thins and easily flows through the nose as well as sinuses and relieves the
blocked nose. For clearing the nose never think of the aggressive procedures.

When the nose is blocked, the Indian way to clear it fast is putting a thread of Coconut coir into nose
and sneezing. But this is most harmful. You cannot achieve the clear nose with this, but the mucosal
membranes and blood vessels in nose will get inflamed and you will increase your trouble.

Following tips will help you clarifying the blocked nose and provide you better breathing during the
processes of meditation.

1. Drink ample of water and fluids. Try to consume 2.5 to 3 litres water every day.

2. Apply Worm moist wash cloth on your face several times a day, this will hydrate the mucus
making it thin.

3. Inhale steam three to four times a day. Please be sure that the steam is not very hot. Moderate
temperature steam will immediately liquefy the mucus. In the initial days of sadhana, if you have
congested nose, better have steam before you sit for meditation. You can use vaporizer or
Humidifier for this purpose as well.

4. For clearing the stuffed nose one more better way is nasal drops. For this take 1 cup of warm
water, add tsp salt and 1 pinch of baking soda. Either spray this solution into the nostrils or put
few drops. This will help clearing the nose. Use these drops three or four times a day.

5. De-congestents, Over the counter nasal drops or sprays of Anti allergic (Anti-histaminics) may
help in severe conditions, but better take these things with the advice of your doctor. Many a times,
the antihistaminics and deconsegtants cause shrinking and drying of your nasal passage. This many a
times lead to severe dry cough. So always be careful while taking the medicines for clearing your
nose.

6. Congestion is often worst when lying down. Better be in upright position or at least keep the
head in elevated position.

7. 1 tsp turmeric, tsp Cinnamon powder, 1 tsp grated ginger, 10-12 crushed leaves of Tulasi,
tsp ajwayan and 3-4 black pepper. Mix, grind and boil with 2 glass water. Filter after boiling for 2-3
minutes. Have this liquid extract three to four times a day. You can add jiggery to this extract while
boiling if you prefer it sweet and you are not diabetic.

Begin your sadhana with cleara nose, for better performance and confidence.

Dhyn: The Initiation through controlled breathing.

Hari Om!

Now assuming you have clear nose, let us focus once again on our practical of the Mooladhar
meditation. This is the first phase of meditation. When you are breathing gently now, the first focus
is on the nose bridge, where you are trying to breath equally by both the nostrils.

In the next phase now, you have to focus upon the equal amount of inhalation and exhalation. This
equilibrium is very important. The equilibrium should be in the following senses:

1. Equal amount of air should be inhaled and exhaled.

2. The force of inhalation and exhalation has to be equal.

3. The time of inhalation and exhalation has to be equal.

This is not at all difficult. This can be definitely achieved by practice. But you have to be very keen
doing this. Achieving this although seems easy, we have to do this perfectly for at least 3o minutes.

Meditating for longer time is a different aspect, but regulating the breath for at least 30 minutes is
needed for every student of Adhymatik practices. There are many benefits of this. The equilibrium
breathing with belly provides following benefits:

1. It helps reducing the stress and providing better health.

2. When you belly breath ofr 30 minutes a day at least, your muscles relax of stress and you relax
completely. It was found in the research that the genes which protect from infertility, high blood
pressure, Rheumatoid arthritis, and pain were strengthened.

3. With the deep breathing done with belly reduces the levels of Adrenalin and Cortisol, which are
generally raised by stress. This leads to reduced heart rate, boosted immunity.

4. When you have tortured and traumatized ego, meditation and deep breathing relieves it. It
improves your healthy emotional status.

5. Relaxation through this way improves male fertility.

6. It helps relieving the irritable bowel syndrome.

7. It also relieves you from inflammation, stress has strong inflammation boosting response, where
as with deep breathing the inflammation reduces.

8. The major advantage is it calms down your mind. Our instant aggressiveness reduces and we
gain soft, touching, loving nature. Very calm and quiet. Understanding and emotional.

As you will began practicing this, you and experience the power, and the most important thing which
happens to you is your changed personality.

What alters in our personality as we meditate? Let us discuss in next Brahmakamal.

Dhyn: Changes in Personality and confidence with meditation.

Hari Om!

We are always confused, and non-confident till we know whom we are. Meditation initially is
nothing but self realization. This actually changes you. I can confidently tell you that sitting every day
for meditation at least for 15 to 30 minutes and it will make huge difference in your approach
towards life. How personally you take things and how you interact with others is very important and
this approach completely changes with meditation.

When you meditate, you become more compassionate and you get better clarity of your mind, this
in turn creates calm and centered character. I assure you that the brain changes with meditation.

When you begin with the sadhana, several changes happen in your brain. We have already seen that
as we have started with the workout, we recognize the anger, and as we recognize anger, we can
control it. This starts happening because of the changes happening in brain and chemistry of brain.

There is a part of brain, the Lateral prefrontal cortex. This part of brain is responsible for the rational,
logical skill you have, that is it determines how balanced you are. It also works on modulating the
emotional responses as per logic. When you start with the above mentioned sadhana, the changes in
this center first affect you in a way, that you stop taking small-small things personally.

The associated area of brain with this area is the Medial prefrontal cortex. This part of the brain is
constantly referring you back to your older experiences. This area is basically related to yourself and
self thinking. This center helps you reflecting yourself daydreaming, thinking about yourself, that is
why it is a self-referencing center. As you practice the above way, you start self realizing. The
dreaming is reduced and the practical thinking develops.

Changes happen in one more important center. Amygdala. It is the fear center of the brain and
modulates our emotional response. With the interactions in between all these centers, a human
being learns protecting himself.

Because of this you can realize certain things. When you think about your life partner, may be
husband or wife, and you are married since long. What do you remember the most in your relations?
I will assure you, you remember so many bad things happened between you. Still after so many
years you remember the small fights, anger, troubles.

Am I wrong? No practically I am true because it is the normal human tendency. It actually is a
learning process. The brain is modulated in such a way that you must remember the wrong
incidences and learn from them so that the same mistakes are not repeated again.

But the interactions between the above centers and thinking more on you oneself makes these bad
things more prominent, and as you look back into your life what you have more is the bad
remembrance.

Now as you start practicing the above mentioned task, there will be a balance set between
these centers and the exaggeration of the thoughts is stopped. You basically become a good and
kind person now, and the negativity of the thoughts slowly reduces with the calming down of mind.

You become confident at the same time humble, you start caring others. That is why I insist all of
you to listen Karuna Tripadi before you start meditating.

Dhyn: Clarity of Vision with meditation.

Hari Om!

Meditation and the complete focusing is a different thing, but even if you start with belly breathing
and concentrating on your breath, and you try out for the equilibrium breathing, and more
important is if you do these things regularly, several positive things start happening.

The connectivity between the Me Center and bodily sensations and the fear center slowly break
down. With this what happens in the process of meditation is that, you are not very much bothered
with the bodily sensations and fear.

I want to clearly state that the ANXIETY Decreases. (Anxiety actually refers to the nervousness,
worries, tensions, concern, unease, apprehension, disquiet, fretfulness, hesitation or angst) Actually
Anxiety is not being inquisitive about something. When you understand the synonyms for Anxiety,
you get more clear idea about what meditation causes to you.

Always understand one equation: As anxiety increases, you think more and more about yourself,
but as and when the anxiety decreases, you start thinking of others.

Under the influence of Anxiety, you are completely involved i your own pain and just build it high
for yourself. As and when the anxiety decreases, the result is thinking less of our self and thinking
more and more about others. Now under such circumstances, you forget your own pain and now
you start realizing others pain.

This is what is called:

Shant Ho Shree Guru Datta- Mama Chitta Shamavi Aata!

In other sense, you achieve the state of Shanti, that is the Anxiety is killed and now you are in a calm
situation of resting and enjoying mind.

Basically your ability to ignore the sensations of Anxiety are enhanced as you break the connection
between the Me center-bodily sensations and Fear center. Here you rely and depend on Lord
Dattatreya, for his support.

At the same time, whenever you feel potentially dangerous or upsetting, you are more capable to
look at it in a broader sense. Suppose if you are feeling deep pain, now instead of becoming anxious
and caring more about the pain, what you do is just experience the pain and feel it rising and then
slowly falling down in a short while.

This is called Chitta Shaman. Your capacity to get connected with other people rises high. As a
result in understanding the other persons state of mind, we start feeling other people, and
understand the pain of others.

When you start understanding others and you have capacities to forget yourself, you are able to see
yourself. Your responding to yourself and others becomes more balanced. But to maintain the gains,
you have to meditate every day.

If you are not doing that, the brain has its own capacity to revert back to its original behavior. You
have to keep meditating, as you have to keep your brain on the right path and make the meditative
pathways more stronger in the brain. I feel this is the only way of coming out of anxiety and leading
a fearless, thoughtful life.

Meditation brings you to a level where you start loving others as much as you love yourself.

Dhyn: Positive Sadhana in Negative Atmosphere!

Hari Om!
I know many of you have started practicing and are now focusing on the breath. Once you get
trained with this aspect, now the next workout begins:

Where to focus now?

Looking towards the tip of the nose you have started focusing on the bridge between your nostrils,
and now you are trying to focus on the equal flow of breeze flowing between both of your nostrils,
you are trying to achieve this.

I know this is absolutely difficult, but I am confident as well that you are going to achieve this with a
consistency and practice.

This kind of breathing is going to help you on the activation of the Sushumna.

Now once this is at least initiated, we need to focus on the next concept. This next concept is now
associated with the Mooladhara, where we are going to pray Ganesha, before we pray our
Aaradhya.

Actually this begins with the generation of pressure in the lower abdomen. Mooladhara is located in
the area of the coccyx. When we normally breath with the belly, the belly protrudes out and
pressure is generated inside the belly.

Now two important things happen here. The first is setting the control through deep but slow
breathing. What all do we mean by this? The breathing when is deep but fast, it leads to hyper
oxidation, and you must understand that over oxidation leads to ageing. Actually as much you are
exposed to the oxygen, you grow older. This is because excessive oxygen affects all the tissues. This
actually creates oxidative damage to the tissues.

You need to understand one important concept. The positively charged molecules damage you
much. Actually the atmosphere is supposed to be pure and the best when there is balance between
the positively charged and negatively charged particles in the atmosphere.

The atmosphere is polluted when the positively charged particles increase in the atmosphere. These
positively charged particles are actually called as Positively Charged Free Radicals. As the amount
of the free radicals increase in the atmosphere, the more it gets polluted, and the pollution free
atmosphere refers to the minimum amount of the free radicals in the atmosphere.

That is why, the morning atmosphere at Brahmamuhurta from about 3.45 am to 5 am can be
considered to be the best, as the amount of free radicals is minimum in the atmosphere at this time.

Free Radicals when are forcefully inhaled, they reach the deepest levels of the lungs and get easily
dispersed in the blood, through which they are circulated all over the body. Understand this is very
important during the sadhana. When you breath deep, you practice Belly breathing, and the
atmosphere is charged with the free radicals, you are less benefited and more damaged.

What you need is more of the negatively charged atmosphere and the positive mind for the process
of meditation.

Let us focus on the concept of atmosphere for our perfect sadhana.

Dhyn in Electron Rich Atmosphere, the negative one!

Hari Om!

We always feel that the atmosphere at our home is fresh and pure, but it is not so. Let me tell you
that fresh air is chemically different from the re-circulated room air. The highest quality air is actually
electrified.

Many a times people are tempted with the incense sticks, the fragrances and the aromas. But
whenever you are meditating and focusing on the belly breathing, you must avoid incense sticks.
They spread smoke in the atmosphere and the synthetic aromas when burnt charge the atmosphere
with more of positively charged free radicals. Never ignite the incense sticks in the room you
meditate.

Also try to avoid the room fresheners or any other types of the synthetic perfumes in the room you
are meditating. Also try to avoid applying perfumes of strong fragrances on your body or clothes
which may disturb you.

The only aromas, which you can genuinely trust are the aromas of Chandan, Mogara and Kapoor.
But they have to be strictly natural and the perfumes are to be completely avoided. When we are
meditating, before that when we perform the pooja, we are using these ingredients in our pooja.
The reason is the aromas, natural ones calm us and we perform better in the sadhana.

More over let me further explain about the negatively charged atmosphere. The most important
thing to be always remembered is when you breath air charged with the negatively charged
particles, your anxiety automatically reduces. The brain chemistry changes completely with the
breathing in negatively charged atmosphere and even the blood pressure normalizes due to this.

The behaviour changes, the problems of acidity and ulcers also drastically reduces. Better
improvement in the performance of the Learning disabilities, and the brain function drastically
improves.

More over the negatively charged atmosphere also inhibits the mood swings. Also problems like
migraine, headache, nausea, eye problems, irritability are reduced noticeably when a person is
exposed more to the negatively charged a atmosphere.

The negatively charged fresh air can benefit a sadhak through providing excess electrons in the
atmosphere. I can assure you that the negatively charged electrons give you several benefits which
will change your complete personality and the behaviour as well as chemistry, making you more
positive.

Effects of negatively Charged Fresh Air:

Improved sense of well being Increased rate and quality of growth in plants and animals
Improved function of the lung's protective cilia Tranquilization and relaxation
(decreased anxiety)
Lowered body temperature Lowered resting heart rate Decreased survival of bacteria and viruses in
the air
Improved learning in mammals
Decreased severity of Stomach ulcers adn acidity problems.
Let us think about how to achieve it.

Dhyn:Building negative ions at home.

Hari Om!
Having as many negative ions in the atmosphere in home as possible is always better. Positively
charged free radicals add up to the pollution.

Positively charged ions damage you, your body and mind. You need to have pollution free
atmosphere at home.

These are few tips for making your home more negative, so that your sadhana is more powerful.

You must have traced one very important thing, why the yogi's go
to Himalayas for their sadhana.
Although the amount of oxygen is less at the higher altitude, the amount of positively charged free
radicals is minimum in the atmosphere. These things benefit the yogis a lot.

Less of oxidation is less of ageing and less of free radicals is more of vitality. This gives them better
power to meditate and leave longer for the purpose of sadhana.
There are several changes happening in the brain during the process of sadhana, similarly they
happen according to the altitude of the place.

At sea level, the brain is hyper activated and its mood is more towards the romance, that is why, sea
places are preferred by the youngsters and couples. As you move towards the higher altitudes, your
brain calms down and you become more comfortable for the sadhana. But let us seriously think of
our own home. We are going to perform our sadhana in home and I wish we must get proper
amount of negatively charged particles in home as well.

Some important points to focus by the sadhakas:

1. Having water fountains or water falls in home will relieve so many positively charged particles
from the atmosphere and you get better atmosphere at home. You can have small fountains and
water falls as well in the room you meditate. Keeping it active will reduce the free radicals as well
and what you get is the purified atmosphere. Water droplets release negative ions. Regularly change
the water, as it gets filled with the positively charged radicals.

2. Positively charged free radicals get accumulated in completely closed rooms and the free air
circulation makes the atmosphere more clear. Keep the windows open. Keeping the windows open
is one of the best source of increasing the flow of negatively charged particles in the home, provided
you are not staying in heavily polluted areas.

If you feel that you stay in a polluted area, better keep the windows open at night, it gives you better
atmosphere.
Always remember that spread of tuberculosis is maximum with the people who sleep in the closed
damp places always with the windows closed.

Nitght time, the free breeze of air need to circulate in your bed room for avoiding the free radicals
and getting more negative ions.

3. Home ionizers are also available for making the atmosphere more negative and killing the
positively charged free radicals.

4. Reduce the use of air conditioners, try to shift on water air coolers and reverse exhaust is a
better way of getting best atmosphere. More of television is also claimed to release positive ions,
reduce it.

5. Houseplants also helps providing you better atmosphere. They will absorb the free radicals and
will charge your home with negatively charged ions.

6. Try out these few things, and your atmosphere at home will be more suitable for your sahana.

Dhyn: Sadhana and the Rate of Breathing.

Hari Om!

Belly breathing done slowly, that too inhaling more negatively charged particles has several benefits
for you. We know that we can very well control our anger using this technique, but there are several
more benefits of this. More over this shows us very fast results. After just few minutes of slow and
deep breathing, the following things start happening to you.

Your heart rate decreases. Even during your exercise when the heart rate increases, start deep
breathing and you will notice that your heart rate starts decreasing.

The oxygen consumption by the body automatically decreases. This leads to reduced risk of
ageing.

The blood pressure slowly starts reducing.

You may not believe, but the brain waves even show changes in their patterns when you start
deep breathing, and this is why you start feeling relaxed after deep breathing.

The most important thing happening is the increased concentration. More over the alertness
increases but the body and mind feel calmness.
The activity of the parasympathetic nervous system increases. What is the effect of the
parasympathetic nervous system and sympathetic nervous system and what is their role in
meditation is the part which we have to learn.
The regulation of the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) is unconscious regulation. It is very
interesting to understand that PNS when gets activated with the deep slow breathing, It immediately
lowers your sense of stress. The blood pressure is also reduced because of activation of PNS.

To understand the PNS, we need to understand the ANS. ANS is the Autonomic Nervous system. It is
divided into sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous System. Activation of the Sympathetic
nervous system aggravates your stress, increases your blood pressure and so on.

You will observe one beautiful thing that the Sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system act
in balancing way for each other. One stimulates and the other inhibits the same activity. When the
Sympathetic system is activated in response to some stressor, PNS in turn brings the body back to
the state of equilibrium.

Sympathetic system spends energy from your body, where as the Parasympathetic system tries to
conserve energy in the body. PNS is responsible for ongoing, smooth. Steady-state activity.

Due to this it provides the feeling of relaxation. It increases the blood flow towards the
Gastrointestinal tract and improves digestion.

It stimulates the salivary glands and increases the peristaltic movements of the intestine. Even
you become more sensible and your eyes are automatically filled with water.

To be very simple, PNS is the stress erasing system of the body. PNS is known for its relax and
renew action.

I must tell you that deep and steady breathing is the key to open up the activity of the PNS.

We have already discussed about the Vagus Nerve, it is the main nerve in PNS. Therefore Deep and
steady but slow breathing activates the PNS, which in turn slows down the heart rate, dilates the
blood vessels, activates digestion, and stores energy in the body. This is why those who were
breathing in a wrong way were getting acidity, now understand the importance of this slow-steady
and deep belly breathing and continue with your sadhana.

Dhyn: Deep and Slow breathing: The perfect timing mechanism.

Hari Om!

Slow breathing is the key to longer life. Let us study this with the animal breathing rate and the life
span. Just let us look into these animals and experience what is their life span:

Mouse (Life Span = 1 to 2 years) respiratory rate = 95 to 160/ minute.

Rabbit (Life Span = 5 to 6 years) Respiratory rate = 30 to 60/ min.

Monkey (Life Span = 18 to 25 years) Respiratory rate = 30 to 40/ min.

Dogs (Life Span = 18 to 30 years) Respiratory rate = 20 to 30/ min.

Human beings (Life Span = 75 to 85 years) Respiratory rate = 12 to 16/ min.

Whale (Life Span about 110 yrs) Respiratory rate = 4 to 5 / min.

Elephant (Life Span = 70 to 80 years) Respiratory rate = 5 / min.

Giant Tortoise (Life Span = 150 to 200 years) Respiratory rate = 4/ min.

If we study this we can understand that more the breathing is fast and shallow, the life span is
shorter. This is not only because of the oxygen consumption but it also refers to the very important
concept of PNS activation as we have already studied.

Hear I want to explain you some important tasks. Let us understand that we normally breath at the
rate of 12 to 16 breaths per minute. This means we are very shallow and short in our regular
breathing. This means that on an average we inhale for 2 seconds and exhale for 2 seconds. This is
a very high speed of breathing according to Gurudev Vasudevanand Saraswati Swami Maharaj.

He has guided me in a very different way on this. He says your sadhana begins with the Mooladhara
Chakra, and the swami is Ganapati. There is one more coincidence here, you believe or not, but the
Ganesha is an elephant headed god and look at the rate elephant breaths in the resting position. It is
just 4 to respiration's in a minute.

Similarly when you are perfecting yourself with the mooladhar sadhana, you should respire only four
times a minute. More over when you are doing this you must not get stressed and you can easily
hold the breath.....ya here comes the actual role of Kumbhaka.

To enter into this phase of the sadhana, I was insisting you upon the slow, steady and equilibrium
breathing. We have already practiced it for three seconds till now. Now we have to work with the
bahya kumbhaka in this sadhana.

Now focus upon the timing of the breath. Each of your breathing activity has to be of 5 seconds now.

How to work on this? It is simple,

a. you have to inhale the breath for 5 seconds,

b. You have to perform bahya Kumbhaka (Belly protruding out as you breath in) for 5 seconds and

c. You have to expire for 5 seconds.

Let me explain you the detailed procedure in the next brahmakamal.

Dhyn: The Kumbhaka.

Hari Om!

We will focus on the practical Kumbhaka now.

Kumbhaka is one fine point in the process of breathing between the inhale and exhale. It is the point
of perfect stillness (Nischalta). When we start practicing Kumbhaka it provides us with deep calm
and tranquillity.

To be very simple, between the inhalation and exhalation is the Kumbhaka. It is the state, where you
inhale the air and then hold the breath for equal or more amount of time that you inhale or exhale.

For achieving the Mooladhara concept of meditation, we have to be perfect with the Kumbhaka. I
will give you a simple example. Suppose you have appeared for exam, and now the result is to be
declared. You have opened the web site for your result and now you are finding your number.

You have loaded the information, and now there is gap of few seconds. Do you realize what
happens then? Your breathing stops for few seconds. You know holding the breath helps us focus
more powerfully.

Similar is the condition when we put thread into the small needle hole. When we are performing this
task, have you noticed one thing again? We hold the breath for few seconds and the thread goes in
the small hole, this clearly explains us the role of holding the breath in our concentration and
focusing.

The same thing happens during your breath holding in the process of meditation, slowly your focus
increases. There are different processes of performing the Kumbhak, but let us not get confused and
let us focus only on one kind of process which we are going to perform during the process of
Mooladhara meditation.

Actually respiration includes the cyclic inhalation and exhalation. In between the inhalation ad
exhalation, there is a very minute gap or pause. This is usually very small.....few milliseconds.
Because it is too short it is generally not felt or noticed. The normal cycle is
exhalation...pause...inhalation...pause...exhalation...and so on.

The process of Kumbhaka is nothing but enforcing the increase in the pause by holding the breath in
between. Many a times the breath is hold in between both the processes, but we are not supposed
to do so.

We are supposed to practice only internal breath holding, that is holding the breath when the lungs
are full of air. In the process of belly breathing, automatically the belly will protrude out and we will
be holding the breath inside.

It has been observed that more the time is spent in Kumbhaka, more is the concentration. More we
can focus, and this clearly explains that the running thoughts in your mind are controlled when you
perform this task of belly breathing with Kumbhaka.

But the Kumbhaka and belly breathing here is not just to be performed counting numbers. It has to
be coupled with the Mantra.

Let us work put this concept[t with Mantra in the next Brahmakamal.

Why Do I Say Hari Om!

Hari Om!

When we are walking on this divine path of Atmik sadhana, let me explain you one very important
thing here.

Why do I always say Hari Om!

Is it a trade mark so that you are recognized? No it is the concept given to me by my Gurudev. He
belongs to Datta sampradaya. I am very proud, that my Guru is a great Sanyasi, the only one after
Shankaracharya to follow the path of Sanyas Dharma perfectly. I am blessed, my complete life is
blessed by his teachings, he who is a deep follower of Shree Gurudev Datta. He who has spread the
Datta Sampraday all over India.

My Gurudev Shree Vasudevanand Saraswati Swami Maharaj is the one with whom Gurudev Datta
had direct conversation, and my Gurudev was not a blind follower of anything. He was the true
walker on the Dnyan marga.

Gurudev has shown the places of birth of Shreepad Shre Vallabh Swami and Shree Nrusimha
Saraswati swami Maharaj. He it the great authority who wrote the beej mantra of the Datta
Sampradaya Digambara Digambara Shreepaad Vallabh Digambara

I am very happy that I am propagating his thoughts to all of you in this year, which is the Samadhi
Shatabdi Year of Gurudevs Samadhi. Gurudev left this world 100 yrears back, and still he is guiding
us on the process of Adhyatmik sadhana. Its really great. I am honestly lucky, he has chosen me for
this divine task.

So, I was telling you that it is he who has guided me to say Hari Om!

One fine day he explained me.

Rahul, when you are walking on the Adhyatmik path, whom are you following?

I said, No doubt Gurudev, I am following you..

He said, No! I am guiding you is a different thing. But when you are following the path of atmik
sadhana, you have to select a path, one single way! There are different ways of sadhana. Different
procedures to be followed, but all the paths reach the same place, the Aatmadnyan!

But you need to follow one single path. This is what is known as the Guru Sishya Parampara,
where once your Guru is decided, you are supposed to walk on the path guided by him, and there
should not be any diversion to the sadhana path.

If you try to listen different people and change the path of your sadhana every now and then, you
may learn many procedures but you will achieve nothing.

So always remember that your path of Sadhana is the path taught to you by your Guru. This refers to
the procedures, and the procedure needs some authentication.

While explaining me about my sadhana, he told me, you now belong to the Datta sampradaya. In the
next few pages I will explain you about the Datta sampradaya. Let me tell you the main concept
given by him.

He said, although I am guiding you on the fine aspects of sadhana, you have to follow the path
advised by Bhagwan Shree Krishna in Bhagvad Geeta. Whenever you are stuck up, you should refer
to what Bhagwan Shree Krishna says about the procedures of Sadhana. And the path will take you
towards the Omkar Swaroop Atmadnyan.

So your journey begins with the path propagated by Hari, and you are supposed to mearge in the
knowledge of Omkar! When you say Hari Om you are indicating your path of adhmik sadhana.

Therefore I always say: Hari Om

Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta.

Dhyn: The Begining with Guru Mantr!

Hari Om!

We are not talking of technical meditation only. We are concerned with the technicalities as well as
the science, but only technical workout counting numbers is not going to help us. We have to
meditate scientifically along with the powers of the Mantra.

Here actually Mantra refers to the Guru Mantra.

We already have discussed about this concept, but let me clarify again!

Guru mantra is not just any kind of mantra. The mantra has to come through the Sampradaya you
are associated with, at the same time it is not just the wording which is dictated to you by your Guru.

Also Guru mantra is not the one which is given by some guru to our guru and he is trespassing the
same to us. It actually has to match the aura of our atmik personality. It is somewhere also linked
with the last life and our Sadhana in that life.

Arjun was learning about the Atmadnyan from Bhagwan Shree Krishna, and Bhagwan was explaining
him the procedures and the path of Atmik workout, and while listening to him, Arjun had several
questions dwelling in his mind.

He was bold enough to ask Bhagwan about his doubts and on one fine incidence he asked,
Bhagwan, If someone dies in between when his sadhana is not complete, what happens? Is his
complete sadhana lost? He will have to begin again from the same point?

There Bhagwan Shree Krishna explained him, Hey parth, the path of the Atmik sadhana is not so
short and small. Once you start walking, the process is continued till you reach the destination of the
Atmadnyan.

once you are walking on the sadhana path, and you meet death in between, you never loos your
sadhana. You are born again with the same sadhana powered to your soul. You have to begin form
the next point now.

This clearly indicates that you have to start and the walking is taken care, and it is also taken care
that you reach towards the Atmadnyan. Your Guru is responsible for this. He guides you here and
continues guiding you in different form till you reach your destination.

And the sadhana begins with the Guru mantra!

Now what is this Guru Mantra? Guru Mantra is the mantra of your Aaradhya god. Dont be over
anxious, we are going to discuss about the concept of Aaradhya as well. Just wait and understand
this concept of Guru mantra here.

Guru Mantra is associated with your atmik sadhana in this life, and your journey in the last life. It is
the Chakra you have reached in the last life and now your journey in this life is to be coupled with
this. Looking into your present and past, your Guru, after conversations with you comes to the
conclusion about your Aaradhya, he tells you about the mantra of your Aaradhya.

This mantra of your Aradhya is your Guru mantra.

Dhyn: The love of Ardhy!

Hari Om!

Let me tell you about the Aaradhya today. Be sure on one thing that your sadhana can not be
complete or even initiated without your Guru!

You cannot begin without your Guru Mantra and you cannot perform without your Aaradhya. The
beginning of actual Sadhana is with the identification of the Aaradhya.

Its the process of identifying a husband for you. Your Aradhya is going to be your husband and you
are going to simply love him. Truly your complete atmik sadhana belongs to your love towards your
aradhya and the chemical changes happening in your brain as you start loving your aradhya.

First understand what is Aradhya now!

As you begin with the sadhana, and you meet your death in some life, your sadhana is not lost.
According to Bhagwan Shree Krishna, you are born again with the powers achieved by your soul in
the last life.

This process is not only the atmik sadhana, but it is also related to the Deity you were worshiping in
the last life. This is absolutely true. Once you start loving a deity, a divinity, you get involved in the
same deity. You start loving every aspect of his personality you are completely involved in him, as
you have started loving him.

There is a rule of nature, as you start loving someone with great intensity, the vibrations of your
mind, your love definitely reach him and the person also has affection for you. If this can be true
about a person, then when you are in love with the divinity, the same rule is applicable.

As you love your deity (Aradhya) in the process of time he also start loving you. A great achievement
in the life is seeking love of your aradhya. Now truly speaking, once you die in love with your
aradhya, you are born with the love towards him, and your next life is definitely enriched by the
blessings showered on you by your last lifes aradhya.

Great thought! When my Gurudev explained me this, I was just in the heaven. Thinking that as I love
my Aradhya, Maa Jagadamba, She also loves me! Its great feeling!

Because of this, you automatically have affection for your aradhya, since the beginning of your life.
And this is what is taken into consideration by your Guru, when you pray him to guide him on the
path of adhyatma.

When he decides to guide you, its is not his decision, but he is guided to do so by the aradhya and
his Gurudev.

My first suggestion to you is you should approach the Guru, request you to guide you on the path of
adhyatma. You must ask him, when he can initiate you as his disciple. Once it is decided, your
journey starts now.

He will first guide you in somethings, and at the same time asking you some questions, he will also
confirm with you that you are really in love with the aradhya, and once all the favourable conditions
are seen, looking into your past lifes aura he will suggest you your Aradhya.

Once you agree, he will tel you the mantra of your Aradhya. This is marrying with your aradhya,
where the Guru performs the role of your father. This marrage of your soul with your aradhya is the
auspicious occasion of taking the Gurumantra

Let Maa Jagadamba shower the blessings on Atmadnyan on all of you!

Dhyn: Ardhy: Select the perfect one!

Hari Om!

Aaradhya is not someone whom we have met in this life, he is the one whom we are worshiping
since few or many lives. He is constantly with us to support us and guide us. More than we love him,
he cares us.

Unnecessarily we are afraid of the small things happening in our life, but if you really love him he is
always there to take your care.

Every Aaradhya has a different Aura, nature and characteristics, and let me tell you, your personality
actually develops in your life with the characteristic features of your Aaradhya.

When I was learning Aroma therapy, the western science of the aromas, which work on your body
and mind, I was more fascinated by the Sugandha Chikitsa of the Ayurveda. I always felt that the
aromas which we are getting from the western world, how much effective are they? We always have
heard about Tea tree Oil, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Rosemary, Parsley and all.

Have you any time seen these herbs? Do you recognize any of them? No. These herbs are not
actually meant to grow in the Indian atmosphere and there I feel strongly that these herbs may not
work on our body and mind as effectively it works on the western people.

This is because we are distinct from the biological flora and we are not fascinated by these aromas.
But at the same time if you think of the Indian Sugandha chikitsa, you can feel the aromas. When
you think of Mogara, Rose, Cardamom, Khus, you can recognize the smell and you get cooling
sensation when you just remember or feel them.

When you think of clove, black pepper, you can feel the warmth of the aromas. And you get the
effects of these herbs as well.

Let us understand the same concept with the taste. We regularly taste the Indian herbs and spices
and we love them. Cinnamon, cardamom, clove, black pepper, tamalpatra, large cardamom, saffron,
these are the spices we know very well.

We love the taste of these spices, but if you try to eat the Chinese herbs, you are not easy adopting
with the taste of the spices.

We are habituated to eat food cooked in groundnut of sunflower oil. If we start cooking in coconut
oil, it becomes difficult to adopt with the taste so that we can like it. Above this we cannot tolerate it
if we are eating food cooked in fish oil.

All these things particularly tell you that it always depends upon what kind of conditions you are
growing into. If you are born in Maharashtra, you are fond of groundnut of sunflower oil and may
not like the taste of food cooked in coconut oil. But if you are born in Kerala, you are habituated to
eat food cooked on coconut oil and you love that taste. But still you may not tolerate the smell of
food cooked in fish oil, but if you are born in china, you ate tempted with the smell of food cooked in
fish oil.

Similarly it happens with the aradhya.

You may respect and pray all the deities, but you are fascinated with one particular deity. This deity
is also attached to you. Both these things appear simple to listen, but it mean to say that you and
your aradhya are perfectly tuned with each other, and you can easily congeal and grow when you
are coupled together.

The wrong choice if is made, there is lot of time wastage.

Suppose if you do not like food cooked in coconut oil, but you are staying in Kerala for 3-4 years adn
bound to eat food cooked in coconut oil, slowly you adapt with the taste and you start liking the
taste of Coconut oil in food.

But for this adaption there is wastage if few years time.

Similarly if wrong Aradhya is chosen, there is lot of wastage of time in just adaption. And in the
process of adaption you may be spending complete life....wastage of the time of sadhana.

Kuldevata & Araddhya!

Hari Om!

Please do not confuse your Aaradhya with your Kuldaivata.

Kuldaivata is the Deity worshiped by the family for years together. This is generally related to the
Deity, which was followed by the complete family, since it was traditionally accepted by the
ancestors.

If you look into the matter of the Kuldaivata, it is somewhere related to two facts, either the deity is
located near to the place where our ancestors were staying or the deity was the Aradhya of some of
our Ancestors, and because of this, the god/ deity may be worshipped for years together in the
family, and then slowly it was considered to be the master deity for the family.

Although this concept is followed in many families, and they think of the Kuldaivata to be the prime
deity for their worship, I strongly feel that Kuldaivata is now the Aradhya always. It can be in some
cases, but not always.

Just imagine a case, where a girl is born in some family and she is worshiping a deity since her
childhood. Now she gets married in a distinct family where the Kuldaivata is altogether different.
Generally it happens so that she is taught about this new deity and explained that this is our
Kuldaivata and you should start worshiping this now.

As a tradition and the family concept, she starts following this new god. But again a question comes,
is she worshiping her Aaradhya? No!
This makes difference in the actual sadhana.

I do not mean to say that we must not worship our Kuldaivata. We must. We must also follow the
family traditions, but let me tell you one thing; Never get confused between your Aaradhya and your
Kuldaivata. Your Kuldaivata may be some god and you have to follow it in your family, but when it
comes to your Aradhya, never keep the inhibitions in the mind that your Kuldaivata will only e your
Aaradhya.

Let me tell you about myself.

I belong to a family, where we are honoured by the blessings of Bhagwan Gopal Krishna, Our
Kuldaivata! The one for whom I say Hari OM. From the initial days of my life, I do remember the
worship of Lord Krishna in our family. My Uncle was a great lover of Shree Krishna. He will pray, sing,
love Krishna.

My mother was even a deep follower. Every day she will pray Krishna, and Janmashtami will be a big
festival in our family. My mother would read Harivijay every year and she will tell me stories from
Harivijay.

I was also fond of Krishna, and will pray him from my childhood.

But, I never got confused. Since then, before I started understanding, I had a very clear vision of Maa
jagadamba in front of my eyes. I was in intense love with her. I was in intense bond with her.

In the next Brahmakamal, I will tell you the story of my aradhya. How i was intensified by her love.

Jaganmt Mahalakshmi: My Ardhy!

Hari Om!

How do I know her? Its a question for me and many of us.

I call her Aai! My mother. My Aaradhya! The one whom I love intensely. How am I bounded with
her?

To remember all this I have to go long back. Even before my birth. Do I remember that? Ya...I do!

I was actually fascinated by the curiosity of what I was in Last life. But as I told you few days back,
Gurudev told me, not to remember everything about the last lives. He says, you may not carry good
incidences with you, but you may remember only the sufferings of the last lives! Understanding this,
I never requested hem to tell me all about my previous lives.

But I do remember certain things related to my sadhana. I know some strong incidences happened.

As Gurudev said, we always remember the bad incidences and similarly i do remember the phase of
my death. The strongest memory I have is the death in one of my lives.

I remember I was wearing a yellow colored sari with orange-reddish flowers on it. I do remember my
face, and I strongly recollect I was about 45 that time. I also remember the diamond nose pin in my
nose, which was stuck inside my nose at the time of accident. Still in this life I am carrying the mark
of nose pin on my nose.

I was travelling in a White colored car, was on the back seat. It must be late night time. I was half
asleep in the car. I went for some music concert, and after singing in the program I was returning
back.

Suddenly something stuck hard on my car. It was a truck completely filled with Coal. The accident
was very harsh. The car was destructed and I was falling somewhere out of the car. The coal from
the truck was lying nearby and I was going through a very strong feeling of pain....which was just for
few seconds.

Then everything was light. I was in a different form. Out of my body! The body must still be suffering
with pain, but I was unaware of all the things. The remembrance of this time we will discuss some
other time, let me tell you about the further what I noticed.

This was the timing somewhere during the Ganesh festival. And during Navratri, my mother was in
the Jagadamba Mahalakshmi Temple during Navaratri, in the year 1969. It was the ashtami, and she
was blessed.

I was growing in her womb. My Aaradhya, Jagadamba Mahalakshmi, the Aadi Roop in in Koradi,
which is very near to Nagpur, was again supporting me! I was born with her blessings. The one who
was my love, my Aaradhya in last lives, has again blessed em in this life!

I trust her, I love her, I belong to her!

Mahalakshmi Jagdamba in my home temple, is the swaroop of my Aaradhya in Jakhapur, a small
village near Koradi Thermal Power station in Nagpur District.

Sadhana of my last life and impact in the childhood!

Hari Om!

I was initially worried if I am just getting involved in fantasies. Am I dreaming in the day? Am I going
through Hallucinations?

I was in confusion. But I was afraid to tell all these things to anybody. The only person whom I have
shared every experience in my life is my mother. Me and Aai were actually very close friends, and we
used to share everything in life.

I was very different even as a child. A small boy deep engraved in his own thought processes and his
own world. What other children generally do is spend their time in playing. Every child is fascinated
with playing, interacting with the children of the same age group.

But I was not. I was more comfortable with the elderly. I was fascinated by my uncle, Shree
Shankarrao Phate. He was the follower of Naath sampradaya, and was involved in the sadhana. He
will talk to me on the sadhana and I would get involved in the processes. As soon as he use to come
to our home, I will be behind him suggesting him to tell me some stories and adhyatmik miracles.

When other children used to play, they even called me man times for playing, but I always avoided
that. My playing was a different game. I used to play in sand. Collect beautiful stones, and will try to
observe if some stone resembles god.

I do remember since childhood I was dreaming that I am playing in sand and god beautiful Idols.
Some times Ganesha, sometimes Shree Krishna. Sometimes many different forms whom I do not
know.

I always felt that I will get some great Idol in sand and my worship will take me towards a great path.
But I used to collect stones, place them on the steps of our home. Our Home was in Savner, Dist
Nagpur. Our home was located on the highway. It was an old pattern home, triple storied. There was
one staircase going up from outside, closed by wooden door, and two big cement steps outside.
These two steps were the place for my playing.

What was I playing there?

I had my stones for Pooja. I used to place them on these steps. Move in the surroundings and gather
flowers of all types I will get. Then my pooja will begin. What I needed for the pooja was Kumkum
and flowers. But I was worried of my father. If I will take Kumkum powder form the pooja room and
use it outside the house, he may get angry.

But I had my own ways of tackling this. I will take red bricks and rub them on each other. The red
brick powder was my kumkum.

I used to have one Lord Ganesh, Krishna and my Jagadamba. I would take round stones resembling
face, mark eyes and lips with red brick on it and my goddess was ready for the Pooja. I wont lie, but
this was the time of immense happiness in my life. I was spending great time with my gods.

I used to talk to them, pray them, perform aarti with the small plate without lamp, prepare Naivedya
of the available fruits and vegetables. Also sometimes I will have toffees, and I will offer them to my
deities.

What I was getting of it was immense satisfaction and love from my Jaganmata!

Pooja! My childhood Play and love.

Hari Om!

I used to talk to my deities. Although I was not aware about the concept of Aaradhya and the related
worship, I was in love with maa Jagadamba. Why I do not know. Along with praying my deities in my
own way, I always felt that we should have a small temple for my deities.

Constructing a small temple in my home was just impossible.

My father was very strict and very hot by nature. We wont even stand in front of him. Constructing
a small temple at our home premise, even outside was just beyond thought.

But I had a very good friend. Whenever it came to friendship, I would think of only one person,
Satish Bhude. Both of us were studying in the same English medium school. Satishs father was
Lecturer in the Arts and Commerce College and was a good friend of my father. He was my only best
friend and I will go every day to his house, which was located on the first floor.

I was his family member. His mother and two sisters were equally mine. Every now and then I will go
in his house. Even we had our mathematics tuition together. Satish was staying on the first floor and
there was a small passage way to enter their house stare case. That place had a small door and can
be closed.

Many a times we will play there closing the door. It was a safe and secrete place for us. What all
childhood and playing I have experienced was with Satish. Many experiences, good and bad we have
taken together.

One of the great one was, we constructed a small temple in the Diwali vacations in the small galli of
Satishs house. We made out of mud, sand and bricks. A small temple was constructed. It was
plastered with wet mud and we places shivlinga. That was the only Idol we can make.

Then we brought all kind of flowers, and had a great pooja. Then as well I was considered to be the
expert in Pooja. I learnt so many things about the pooja and the shastra from my uncle and my aunt,
who had a broad vision looking towards the rituals.

I always had immense satisfaction with this. It was my playing as well. And from that time, the three
deities I was fascinated were Lord Shree Krishna, because it was our Kuldaivata, and my uncle used
to tell me stories of Krisha every time I met him.

Was fond of Ganesha, which still I am. Ganesha was my companion. I loved the form of his idol. I
remember, in my college days, I used to prepare murals on stones, and my Ganesh murals made on
the stone were most popular. Still so many people have the ganesh murals made by me on stones.

And toe most I loved was maa Jagadamba.

Why was I so much involved in her? What was the reason?

Let me tell you the truth in the next Brahmakamal.

Intense Attraction for Aaradhya: Jaganmaata Mahalakshmi!

Hari Om!

Let me explain you what traditions we had in our family.

We were staying in Savner and my father was practicing there as an Advocate. He was also taking
care of our farms, 11 km from Savner at Khairi Dhalgaon. He was always very keen on his studies and
was a very hard worker.

Along with his practice as a lawyer, he was a good farmer and was secretary of Adasa Ganapati
Devasthan. This is the Adosh Kshetra, where Waman worshiped Ganesha. Its a very old temple of
Ganesha, with a large Idol of Ganesha.

My father was devoted to this Ganesha. He was a great follower, trustee and was involved in the
work done for the Ganesha temple in Adasa. I remember, he never used to take anything from the
Devasthan, he will arrange even the Devasthan meetings at our home and believed not taking even a
single pie from the Devasthan.

Every day his prayers included Atharvashirsha. Even my mother she followed him doing so If we look
into this, we were worshiping Lord Ganesha and Krishna in our family.

Above this, My Uncle was disciple of Shree Vyankatnath maharaj, and we all were following the
teachings of Madhavnath Maharaj. What I remember from the childhood is, as we were in our Pooja
House, the first thing which wil come in our mind since childhood was:

Sadguru Nath Madhavnath Sada Vasave Ya Vridayat

And under all these circumstances, traditions, rituals I was growing, but I had great attraction
towards Maa Jagadamba Mahalakshmi. I remember, in my childhood many times I used to dream
about her. I was always in the temple of Maa Jagadamba Mahalakshmi in Koradi.

To tell you one more important fact, that we had almost all festivals in our family, but we dint had
Navaratri in our family. It was surprising for us, but in spite of all festivals celebrated with all the
rituals, why there was no Navaratri Pooja in our family was a question for me.

I asked this many times to my mother and my aunt and they said, someone from the family must
have died in Navratri and that is why we are not celebrating it. Actually speaking, we never had any
Devi pooja or tradition in our family. Nobody was Devi Bhakta. No one even kept the fasts in
Navaratri.

And in spite of all these things, my first attraction was Maa Jagadamba Mahalakshmi. I used to
request my mother and aunty, that we must keep navaratri in our home. I love my Maa. But they
were strictly against this. They said, we cannot break the rituals and we need to have a baby birth in
the Navaratri, to re start the tradition.

I was desperate to start Navaratri Pooja in our family, and used to fast for all the nine days since
long. After my Marriage I was more tempted to have Navaratri again in our family. My emotions and
the love was so strong, that several things helped me starting the tradition.

Mrunalini My wife is born on the first day of Navaratri. Wow it was great, but my mother said, no
she is not born in our family, you cannot begin with this.

My Daughter Tejasvini was born on the second day of Navaratri. But again the thought was, she is a
girl child, you cannot start.

But thanks god, my Maa Jagadamba Mahalakshmi was in my complete favour, and my elder brother,
Madhudadas son, Pranav is also born on the first day of Navaratri. And the Navaratri started in our
family.I felt I am blessed the most!

Mahalakshmi my Ardhy: The blessings I got!

Hari Om!

I am blessed by her. My Aaradhya, Maa Jagadamba Mahalakshmi. After the navratri Mahotsava
started at my place I was very happy. Here my actual sadhana started with Maa Jagadamba.

Let us go back to certain incidences. One of my friend Rahul Tak, was also follower of Maa
Jagadamba Mahalakshmi in Koradi. He was trying to go to USA for his further studies, and before
going for the interview for his Visa, he wanted to go to Koradi. We planned and both of us went
there for the Pooja.

When Rahul was preparing for GRE, I was preparing for my GATE exam. We went there with great
trust. We requested maa for our better results, and still I feel that my score in the GATE exam is
because of the blessings of Maa.

The Idol of Maa in Koradi is very old. About this Moorty, it is said that Devi looks like a girl in the
morning, she is an adult woman in the afternoon, and in the evening she looks life your old mother.

This is just an example, but I have experienced her so many times. As a child asks for some toy to his
parents and they have to fulfill his wish, similarly, whenever I was really and deeply in need of
something, till the date I only ask her for my requirements, and I have found, whenever I request her
with true heart, every of my wish comes true, and it is only because of her blessings and love for me.

I was so much fond of her, that I made the same idol at my place. With my mother coming back to
my place my sadhana started once again.

What I really remember since last few lives are her dark and deep eyes, the large ones! From my
childhood I am habituated to see them. As I used to close my eyes during the prayers, the first thing
which appeared in front of my eyes are her eyes.

I always felt that she is watching me continuously. She keeps a keen watch on everything I do in life.
They even protect me. After she came to my house, I got more confidence in these eyes. I mean to
say, actual interaction started between me and her. I know this very well that whom I love the most
in this world is Maa jagadamba, and I also know this very well that she even loves me.

You may think I am a schizophrenic. Even I felt so during the initial days of my sadhana. I used to feel
her with me during my sadhana and Pooja. I have felt her touching me. During the Pooja, when I get
involved in her, I have felt the soft skin touch to the brass Idol. I have experienced different
fragrances while performing the pooja.

I have even heard her voice, calling me!

It resembles dreaming. But I have experienced my mother in the lively form, may be just for few
seconds, but she is there with me. I believe her.

Not only me, but so many people can tell you about her Liveliness on the Ashtami Pooja in Navaratri.
What I experience in her closeness is unexplained. Just wait for an instance and I will tell you the
real essence of my Aaradhya,in the next Brahmakamal.

Maa Jagadamba: Tripursundari

Hari Om!
Maa Jagadamba Mahalakshmi! Who is she? My Kuldaivata is Gopal Krishna, My Gurudev is
Vasudevanand Saraswati, himself a Datta avatar. His Aaradhya was Gurudev Datta. In spite of all this
my Aaradhya is Maa Jagadamba!

I myself was puzzled many times, why is it so?

Why do I love her so much? I tried to ask Gurudev about the last lives, but I already told you his
answer. He only assured me to let me know the sadhana procedures I have completed in the last
lives. There I realized her love for me.

He first told me, the Aaradhya of Datta is Tripursundari, Maa Jagadamba herself!

This gives a soothing thought, but why I was so much involved in my Maa? I actually call her Aai! My
mother. The roots go deep back into six different lives. Surprisingly all the six were in the worship of
Maa Jagadamba!

Let me tell you about her. How she is. She is actually Tripursundari, the godess of Three worlds. She
is the one who unites with Shiva in all the three forms.

My Maa looks reddish golden in colour. She has four hands and she holds Paash and Ankush, the
arms of Ganesha in two of her hands, Five arrows of flowers in one hand and the sugarcane bow
(Ikshudanda) in one hand.

This Pasha is the string which holds oneself in discipline. I request you to hold me strictly in the
discipline of the sadhak avastha. Another of your hands holds an Ankush which can also be
described as the Spear or Spike which helps us learning self control. The sugarcane bow represents
the mind and the arrows are the five sense objects.

Tripurasundari is also worshipped as the Shree Yantra, which is considered by practitioners of Shree
Vidya to be a more true representation of the goddess.

Maa is the combination of:

Iccha Shakti: That is the power of will,

Dnyan Shakti: That is the power of Knowledge and

Kriya Shakti: That is the power of Action.

Tripurasundari, my Maa is also called as Shodashi: She is the most beautiful in the three worlds. She
is also called Moksha Mukta.

Let me tell you one very important thisn gabout my Maa, Jagadamba Mahalakshmi air Tripursundari,
She is the power of consciousness, Chit-Shakti. She is the awareness of Supreme self, the
Parabrahma! She is the Kundalini Shakti!!

She exists in here forms.

The Physical or the Murta form: Sthula

The subtle or the finest form: Sukshma and

The Supreme form : Para.

Mantra, Yantra and Tantra are the three aspects of Shree Vidya. Mantra implies holy chanting, while
Yantra is a symbolic representation of Mantra. Tantra comprises mental concentration and focusing,
rituals and kundalini yoga. One thousand names for this form of Dev are recited in the Lalit
Sahasranma, which includes Shree Vidya concepts.

We have to finish complete the Ganesh-Mooladhara Sadhana and then I will explain you the Devi
Sadhana, which is also known as the Kundalini Sadhana.

Brahmakamal 87

Let us begin the actual meditation process!

Hari Om!

We are going back towards the mooladhar meditation again, and when we are reaching there I
humbly request you to read the Brahmakamals from 70 to 75 once again. This will give you the basic
idea again about what we are supposed to do.

We are supposed to Chant the Ganesh mantra in the Mooladhar Meditation. Before that as said
earlier the complete process will be as follows:

1. First you are supposed to pray your Parents, Mother first and then your Father.

2. The Second thought is your Guru. This is bowing your head in front of all those whom you pray
as your Guru.

3. Then comes your Adhyatmik Guru. The one who guides you on your complete sadhana, and you
are really travelling with.

4. Now This is the time, where you must Listen Shanta Ho Shree Guru Datta the most calming
prayer of the Karuna Tripadai. This will help you calming down. Will relax your mind as well as your
body. Once you are relaxed, then proceed for the technical process of the Mooladhar Meditation.

5. Now focus on your Nose bridge and feel the breath when you are breathing normally. Feel the in
going air and then the air going out. While doing this you should feel the cold breeze going in and
warmth of the deoxygenated breath while you exhale. Feel this for some time till you calm down.

6. Now focus on the timing of your breath. Initially you should breath in for 5 seconds and Breath
out for 5 seconds. This needs practice, and I already have told you to practice for 3 seconds on this.
Now you must feel confident and must practice for inhaling for 5 seconds and Exhaling for 5
seconds.

7. I very well know that inhaling for 5 seconds is very difficult. This normally happens when we
have lower breathing capacities and you try to inhale fast. This indicates that you are not calming
down properly.

8. Dont rush and try to achieve success in this meditative process very fast. You must achieve the
Chitta Shanti. That is why I insist you to Listen the Karuna Tripadi Prarthana. When you are relaxed
and you have sufficient strength to exhale for 7-8 seconds, dont pull it longer, just be calculative and
exhale for 5 seconds. This will avoid the fast inhalation and you can slowly inspire for 5 seconds.

9. Now focus on the Mooladhara Chakra and the Mooladhara Swami Shree Ganesh! For this
meditation now you have to focus on the sitting posture. I have already explained you how to sit for
this. Those who cannot sit on the ground can also sit on the chair, the only requirement is keeping
your spine straight.

Practice this sincerely, its time now when we are going to focus on actual Ganesha in the next
Brahmakamal.

Mooladhara Sadhana: The Begining!

Hari Om!

Let us revise the Mooladhara Knowledge. The manifestations on the Mooladhara Chakra includes
your sexuality, Reproduction , Excretion, Memory and it helps setting the Emotional balance.
Because the Mooladhara Chakra is responsible for setting your emotional balance, Before we enter
into any other form of meditation we are supposed to work on the Mooladhara Meditation.

Once you start practicing the Mooladhara Meditation, you will be benefited with strong sense of
understanding the wrong and right. You will not have any bias and your innocence will start
developing slowly.

Your concentration will be better and what you gain is stable eyes.

The Mantra for the Mooladhar Chakra is Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha. We have the Ganesh
Mantra CDs specially designed for the Mooladhara Ganesh Aradhana. Here we have set the Ganesh
mantra perfectly in 5 seconds.

Now you just have to follow the rhythm. One Ganesh Mantra that is for 5 seconds you have to
exhale the air, Next Ganesh Mantra you are supposed to inhale for 5 seconds. Be very gentle and
soft while inhaling, otherwise your inhale will be finished in 3 seconds and there will be a lag of 2
seconds. Be very slow in your inhalation.

There must be perfection of timing which will come to you with your regular practice. So you are
listening the Ganesh mantra and exhaling and inhaling for 5 seconds. Now after inhaling for 5
seconds, do not immediately release the breath. Now you are supposed to perform the Kumbhaka.

While performing the Kumbhaka in the Mooladhara Sadhana, you have to be very sure that you are
not holding your breath with the nose or your throat. You are supposed to keep the Kumbhaka, that
is keep the air in the lungs for next 5 seconds and you only have to use the belly muscles to perform
this. This automatically generates pressure in the abdomen and the Mooladhara point is softly
pressed.

You have to listen the Ganesh Mantra, Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha. For one Avartana
(Repetition) of the mantra, you are going to exhale, one complete avaratana you are supposed to
inhale, and one complete avartana you are supposed to perform the Kumbhaka.

The Ganesha mantra is very soothing. It releases our tension and stress and has a very balancing
effect on our brain. The Ganesh Mantra has huge capacities and it is one of the powerful source of
restricting the thought processes coming into the mind.

Should we loudly pronounce the Ganesh Mantra during the Ganesha Meditation? No I will say not to
pronounce the Mantra. Just let it regurgitate in your mind. As you calm down listening the Ganesh
Mantra, just feel the waves of water in the sea are flowing as per the rhythm of the Ganesh mantra.

This is the beginning of the experience of the Ganesh Mantra. Just experience it and each time you
do that you are blessed with the balancing of your brain.

Mooladhara Sadhana: Ganesha Mantra Breathing!

Hari Om!

The Ganesh mantra regurgitating in the mind is a great experience. Once we get involved in the
Ganesh mantra, the experiences are amazing. Once I told my elder sister to focus on the Ganesha in
the Mooladhara chakra and just feel him.

She was doing it religiously. Imagining the Mooladhara deep in her belly, she was focusing on the red
Mooladhara Kamal, and was imagining the Ganesha standing in the red lotus.

With the workout of few days, what she experienced was amazing. The thought was as she was
happy, she would notice that her Ganesha is enjoying. If she is not feeling well or if she is disturbed,
her Ganesha will sit calm, without doing anything.

Once she started laughing suddenly when she was meditating and the matter was, her Ganesha was
dancing standing on the red lotus and moving his trunk, he was giving her the tingling sensation from
inside. The feeling was so loud that she cannot control her laugh.

This was because of her concentration and the perfect focusing for longer time. Every one of you will
experience at least one thing that your focus and concentration definitely improves as you begin
with the Mooladhara Sadhana.

What you have to do is, I am sending you the workout picture of the Mooladhara chakra for your
concentration to improve and for your complete focusing. What you have to do is basically learn this
Mooladhara Chakra.

As you sit for the sadhana, put on your Ganesh Mantra CD. Listen the Ganesh Mantra and start
performing your exhalation, inhalation and Kumbhaka with the rhythm of each mantra.

While this task is going on at one time in your brain, now you are supposed to focus on the picture I
have send you with this Brahmakamal. If you require a larger version of this I can mail you for your
workout.

You need to sit with the picture actually in front of you. Now just look at the complete picture. You
can observe four petals of the red lotus of the Mooladhara Chakra. At the centre you can see
concentric circles of the earth, which is red. In the centre is the Ganseh Idol for your worship.

Above you can observe the elephant head and the end point of the trunk becomes the Bindu on the
Mooladhara beeja LUM Bellow the elephant head and the petals is the red Triangle of the
Mooladhara Chakra.

Now after observing the complete Mooladhara chakra, just simultaneously keep the track of the
Ganesh mantra and the breathing cycle along with the Kumbhaka, each of 5 seconds.

Dhyn: Ardhy: Select the perfect one!

Hari Om!

Now you have seen the Mooladhara chakra and at least you have the rough idea of what to imagine
about the Mooladhara chakra and the Mooladhara Aradhya Ganesha.

Now this is the next step of proceeding for the Mooladhara meditation.

After grasping the complete Mooladhara Rakta Kamal, the one which we have studied in the
Ganesha Atharvashirsha, now you have to enter inside the Mooladhara.

This is a typical exercise which will take you deep into the Mooladhara dn your focus will also
improve.

Look at the Moladhara Kamal. Now you have to begin from the left ear of the elephant. Notice one
thing that your right hand side is the elephants left ear. Looking at the corner of the elephants left
ear, you have to slowly move your eyes around the petals one by one and after completing one
rotation near the elephant head enter into the internal layer of the petals and keep moving your
eyes through the petals, one by one reaching inside the inner circle.

As you reach the outer boundaries of the circle keep moving your eyes on the concentric circles, one
by one entering inside the circles. This process must not be fast. In one repetition of the mantra you
should cover one circle.

Performing this go on entering inside till you rich the feet of the Ganesha. Now you can suddenly
feel the cold breeze touching your nose bridge. Go and meet the Ganesha here. He is the master of
this chakra and you will notice he responds to you. If you are happy and you are in the best of your
mood, the Ganesha will be very happy and he will reciprocate.

Now you are near the Mooladhara Aaradhya. This is the point where you can love him. You can
represent your love towards him and just try to look at his eyes. You will see immense satisfaction in
his eyes.

Now you have to completely focus on the Bindu, which represents the end of the elephants trunk
and also represents the Bindu on the LUM. What you have to do now is look and focus completely
on the red Bindu.

Now your complete focus will be on the Bindu, the dot. Keeping staring on this Bindu as much you
can. Your mind must not divert from the dot here. Keep watching the Bindu till everything in front of
your eyes does not merge inside.

At this junction slowly close your eyes and what you should see is the red dot in front of your eyes
even after closing them.

Now you are just into a Bindu,a dn the mantra keeps re-cycling one by one. Your exhale, inhale and
Kumbhaka cycle of 5 seconds each is automatically happening and you are getting completely
focused now.

Your thoughts get stabilize, your brain slowly is neither in the state of excitation nor it is depressed.
You slowly start enjoying the balance phase.

This is the Mooladhara Sadhana at one point. Keep enjoying with your own Ganesha!

Brahmakamal 91

Dhyn: Ardhy: Select the perfect one!

Hari Om!

The Mooladhara meditation learning process is started now. At this junction of time you are involved
in three major processes:

1.When you move your eyes sequentially on the petals of the Mooladhara Lotus you are
concentrating on the concentric parts of the petals and focusing not to skip out the layer of the
petals.

2. At the same time you are Hearing the Ganesha Mantra and the Bhakti Bhav is initiated in you. You
cannot Skip out the Ganesha Mantra. Your complete focus has to be there in the mantra.

3. You are at the same time regulating your breath. Focusing initially on the nose breath, feeling the
breeze of air on the nose bridge while inhaling and exhaling, and then you are focusing on your
Kumbhaka.

Initially it becomes very difficult to focus on all these things at the same time, but as time passes and
you practice the things properly, you feel this is easy, the difficulties reduce with the practice.

As you practice it more, what you experience is your focusing and concentration increases and in a
span of time. This time span required for achieving the perfection depends upon the time you spend
and practice you do on the Mooladhara meditation.

Once you become perfect with this, and your focus on the Bindu increases, now imagine the
Ganesha residing in this bindu. You have to feel the Ganesha performing in you.

This Mooladhara meditation also trains your mind and the Pineal gland as well as your superstition
center. But for this you have to feel the Mooladhara Chakra and the Ganesha. This means you have
to get involved with all the senses so that you perform in a perfect way.

The first sense you should get involved in the Mooladhara Chakra is the colour. Remember that the
colour of the Mooladhara Lotus is blood red. You need to feel this red colour. You need to
understand and feel the warmth of the red colour whenever you are meditating. The orientation of
the Mooladhar Lotus diagram is basically feeling the red colour in all possible depths.

As concentrically you enter deep in the petals of the lotus, what you feel is the intensity of the red
colour which actually directly stimulates certain centres in the brain. Whenever you are meditating,
what you have to register in your mind now is that the red colour represents your llove and affection
for the Ganesha, and whenever you observe the red colour, you must feel Ganesha in the red colour.

May be you see some red flower you recognize the presence of Ganesha in you, similarly, you have
to train your brain to recognize the red colour as the colour of Ganesha, and whenever you come in
contact with the red colour, you immediately start recollecting about your Ganesha sadhana, and
this should start happening even when your eyes are closed.

This means you should get so much accustomed with red colour, that you should start recognizing
red colour even with the closed eyes.

This recognition will be your first achievement of the Mooladhara meditation.

Dhyn: The colour concept of finding the path!

Hari Om!

Let me tell you about the colours of the chakras.

When we work on the different chakras, and their colours, the first question comes, why we do so?
Why do we colour them? Does the Chakra exist in such colours?

When we are actually supposed to answer this, the first question is, can we see the chakra?

According to our last discussion, the Chakras are not visible, then how do we say that the
Mooladhara Chakra is branded with red colour and so?

Let me explain you the concept of these colours, their science and the Chakra Technology. There is
something which is recognized the most by your mid brain are the colours. The colours can be very
well sensed by the Mid brain, and hence in the meditative training program, we are basically training
the Mid Brain to perform and recognize certain concepts.

The chakras are located in the different areas of the body and when the task related to their
activation is performed, how do the mid brain recognize which chakra is it? More over when you are
in the dhyan avastha, and suppose if you get lost, how do you find your path, the only way to find
your path again is the existence of the chakras, with the colour branding, which bring you back to
your original position.

Therefore to train the mid brain for recognizing the chakras, they are to be labelled by specific
colours. These colours are not selected abruptly, but they are selected according to the nature and
workout of the chakra.

Let us study the red colour for this workout. The Mooladhara Chakra is governed by the red colour.
This red colour stands for Vitality, Courage, and Self Confidence.

Red colour is related to your self awareness and therefore during the meditative practices and in the
process of sadhana, the first colour involved is the red colour, which talks about you, your self
recognition.

When you get associated with the red colour, you become more courageous, more confident,
humanistic, Spontaneous. You become more of extrovert and you are honest, at the same time you
have very strong will.

This colour when you practice with, you first develop the self awareness. The existence of your soul.
It provides you the stability. This stability is not only related to your routine life but also related to
your meditative workout.

Red colour provides energy from the earth and gives energy on all the levels. This red colour actually
connects us with our physical body. This colour actually correlates connectivity.

The positive aspects of the red colour are:

Security

Courage

Pioneering and

Strong Will Power.

At the same time, the red colour also has some negative aspects, which during the sadhana we have
to minimize and neglect from our achievements:

Insecurity

Self Pitying

Aggressiveness and

Fearfulness.

Let us workout on the different colours and the chakras, and then the other related senses in the
chakra Abhyasa.

Dhyn: The colour concept of finding the path!

Hari Om!

We are definitely going to study all the chakras and their colours and the significance, but this is the
time about sensing all the Chakras, through the different senses.

Now understand the sequence of sensing.

The first sensing is not through the nose or breathing but it is the vision and the observation of the
colours. When we are meditating, we are focusing on the mind, which is the wrong concept. If we
start focusing on the mind initially, and we start meditating we are always disturbed by the incoming
thoughts.

Then we keep feeling that the thoughts keep coming in my mind and I cannot meditate. Mind is
actually like a small notorious child. If we will inhibit the child from doing something, he will be
deliberate to do that. Similarly, when we try to meditate and enforce our mind to come out of all the
thoughts, it deliberately runs behind different thoughts.

Better dont instruct the brain to go thoughtless. We will make the brain to work in coordination
with the different senses, and the first sense which plays the major role is the Vision. When we are
meditating on the Mooladhara we are focusing on the red colour. We have seen the qualities of the
red colour also resemble the qualities of the Mooladhara chakra.

The next sense we are supposed to focus upon is the smell. We are focusing on the breath, but we
were not thinking of the smell. Now its the time to actually understand this sense.

Sense of smell is generated by the sensory cells on the nasal Cavity. We can smell the odour when
odorant molecules binds with the Olfactory receptors (Smell Receptors). These receptors actually
explain us the feeling of smell.

Volatile small molecule odorants, non-volatile proteins, and non-volatile hydrocarbons may all
produce olfactory sensations. Some animal species are also able to smell carbon dioxide in minute
concentrations.

IN female humans, the sense of smell is a bit stronger than men. It also becomes more active during
the menstrual periods. Also it is considered to be strongest during the time of ovulation in the
female.

You may not be knowing, but the human being can detect individuals that are blood related. That is
why, the sense of smell is very important in the process of meditation. During the stages of
meditation it also happen that we start smelling different fragrances, and you must agree that when
we pass through the fragrant breeze during the meditation. We also smell great divine aromas
during the meditation.

Let me tell you more scientific things about the smell, process of olfaction and the role of brain in
the next Brahmakamal

Dhyn: The Path of Smell and Aromas!

Hari Om!

The sense of smell is the most valuable workout in the terms of meditation.

When we talk about the normal smell, we actually talk about the small aromatic molecules which
are dispersed into the air. While inhaling when the smelling molecules enter our nose they get
dissolved in the nasal mucosa and as a result we feel the sensation of smell.

The smell receptors basically can identify 7 different types of smells:

Camphoraceous: Camphor like. These fragrances are the most important ones during the meditative
processes. Many of the Camphoraceous odours are regularly used in the process of Pooja. Camphor,
Raal, Ood, Dhoop, Guggul are the most commonly used one, and these fragrances are widely known
for their mind calming properties.

These aromas are very well recognized by our ancestors and since long are used to enhance the
meditative power.

Let me tell you about the main aromas used in this process:

Frankincense known as Loban in Hindi is an aromatic resin. This smell is used in all the traditions,
Muslims, Hindus and also you find it in the Bible. It is also used in skin care. It is used in nearly all the
religions for its spiritual qualities. Ayurveda uses it in the treatment of Arthritis. It is most commonly
used in the Devi Pooja, mostly during the Navaratri Poojas.

It has to be mentioned that the Ashtami Pooja in Navaratri is considered to be the most pure timing
for meditation and spiritual workouts. During these timings, the ladies use earthen pots which
contain Raal and Ood. They repetedly smell this and dance in the night.

The Unmani avastha achieved on the Ashtami Night is mainly because of the fragrances of the
Dhoop, which helps carrying you into the deep trans.

Similarly is used the Guggul. Guggul is considered to be rejuvenating. It helps relieving the circulatory
problems, nervous system disorders and rheumatic complaints.

Guggul when is added on the burning fire, a mind calming aroma spreads all over which helps you
concentrating in a better way.

Similarly camphor is used in all the pooja processes. All these fragrances are well known for the
camphoraceous smell and its direct mind calming effect on the brain. But in the meditative
processes what I personally suggest is a bit different.

Although these aromas are very effective in taking you towards a special drive of meditation, when
you burn them on the fire, more of the smoke enters your lungs and this smoke is not appropriate
for the meditation.

During the belly breathing the smoke reaches deep into the lungs which is not suggested. Even use
of the incense stick should be avoided before the meditation or in the meditation room, as the
oxygen content is affected and more of smoke is created.

Instead smelling these aromas in the raw form can also be effective in achieving the tranquility.
Better use these aromas regularly in the meditation process without burning. If you want to burn
them, burn them in the meditation room, half an hour before meditation so that the great aroma
keeps lingering and you are not chocked with smoke.

Let us think of the Pheromones and musky odours in the next Brahmakamal.
