Last January 16, 2014, Architecture Engineering Technology shop was
inspected. Results of inspection are assessed based on the building requirements stated in the National Building Code of the Philippines to determine the shops present condition as to its space, ventilation, illumination, wirings, safety, maintenance and facilities.
Primary findings of the inspections show the space in the shop room are 290cmx900cmx907cm. Its ventilation is very weak because through the five large windows in the shop room have broken glass and the shop has only one electric fan. Illumination in the shop room is provided by six fluorescent lamps. There are two open wires, but all are working. It has no enough medicine supplies for emergency cases that may happen during shop hours. The shop is maintained but its facilities crowd the shop room.
DISCUSSION/BODY AND RESULTS
The inspection was divided into the following sections: space, ventilation, illumination, wiring, safety, maintenance, and facilities. Area Detailed Inspection Requirements as stated in the NBCP 1. Space 290cmx900cmx9 07cm SECTION 803 Maximum site occupancy shall be governed by the use, type of construction, and height of the building and the use, area, nature, and location of the site; and subject to the provisions of the local zoning requirements and in accordance with the rules and regulations promulgated by the Secretary. 2. Table 1. Result of detailed inspection and requirements stated in the NBCP
Figure 1: Inside the Shop of ART (Architecture Technology Shop)
Figure 2: Outside the Shop of ART (Architecture Technology Shop)
All area seemed to be in a very good state except for the safety, because the shop has no fire extinguisher, and for maintenance because they have no first aid kit in case of emergency.
CONCLUSIONS
The whole inspection is aimed to determine whether the shop conforms to the building requirements, the shop inspections result turned out positively except for the safety, because of some insufficient things that required in that area based on the national building requirements, and for the maintenance because the shop has no fire extinguisher in case of some emergency. As well as in the area of ventilation there are lots of needs regarding in that area because they only one electric fan to supply the needs of the students and its not enough to supply the air needs of the student and based on the NBCP all building erected shall face a street or public alley or private street which has been officially approved. The shop did not properly follow the standard building requirement provided by the civil code of the Philippines.
ABSTRACT
This technical writing report are all about the present condition of the shop we inspected and we used in our school (TUP-C *Technological University of the Philippines-Cavite Campus) and the requirements as stated in the National Building Code of the Philippines (NBCP), and for a requirements we need to submit in our subject in English 3.
In this report, we inspected all the area that we can see in the shop room condition as to its; space, ventilation, illumination, wirings, safety, maintenance, and facilities, and to see its present condition and if they are following the requirements stated in the NBCP.
The shop room that is assigned for me to inspect is the drawing room or the Architecture Technology Shop (ART). And based on my inspections/observations during the activity we are doing all areas seemed to be well-maintained and all are in good conditions. But there are many things that the shop needs to improved even they are seemed to be in good state room like they need the following: more electric fans, chairs, drawing tables, fluorescent lamps, first aid kit, open window to supply the light and air they needed and also a lot of space. Also they need to cover up the exposed and hang wires so that it will not cause accidents that may happen during the shop hours.
RECOMMENDATION
There are plenty of needs that the shop must require to have. For the area of ventilation it is recommended to fix the 3 broken glasses on the large 5 windows that are broken. For illumination, it put 3 more fluorescent lamps in the shop room to supply the light the students need when they are taking classes during in the evening. For safety, put first aid kit and a fire extinguisher in case of emergency. And for the facilities, I recommended that it was more applicable if the drawing table is placed 5 cm away from each other.
