elcome students, parents and staff, both
new and old to a new school year. The
frst days of class in August are always
high energy and motivational for all.
PK- grade 12 attendance is 93% which sounds
good. We are always concerned about the 40
students who have not yet returned to the important
frst days of school.
As we work toward common goals for your children
our students, I look forward to the continuation
of a clear culture of parental support directed
toward supporting instruction and working towards
the mission and values of EBV (October, 2013,
AdvancEd External Review Team - Accreditation
Report)
Construction of a new two story building that
includes a cafeteria, classrooms and offces is
on schedule. Completion of the steel structure
was accomplished and is now followed by less
disruptive construction to continue over the course
of the frst semester.
Please understand that in order to accomplish a
project of this scale during the academic year we
will all need to be even more cooperative and be
fexible in the use of space.
This is just one challenge that I know we will manage
effectively as a community. A greater challenge is

I
would like to offcially welcome back all of our EBV families! I trust everyone had a restful and relaxing
summer holiday and students and parents are ready for the 2014-15 school year. As we enter our
fourth week of school for this new school year, please be aware of some of the new policies at EBV:
Welcome to 2014-2015 School Year!

.Students are no longer allowed to use their
cell phones on campus from 8:00am-3:10pm
(2:10pm on Wednesdays).
2
.Attendance letters: You will begin to receive
e-mails and/or letters regarding your childs
absences. Upon the 3rd absence from each
class period, the teacher will notify both the parent
and student via e-mail. Upon the 5th absence,
you will receive a letter from the academic offce
requesting a meeting with the secondary principal.
Upon the 8th absence, you will receive another
letter informing you that your child may be subject
to loss of credit pending any further absences.
Note that all EBV students are granted 8 absences
per semester for each class.

.All EBV students need to provide their own
lock for their assigned locker.

I want to invite all parents to our annual
the Back to School Night on Tuesday,
September 2nd. The goal of the evening
will be for all parents to meet each of their
childs teachers and gather information
regarding specifc protocols, expectations,
and requirements for individual courses.
I encourage all parents to attend and take
the frst step in establishing positive lines
of communication to EBV and your childs
teachers. The event will begin at 6:30 with
an introduction from our superintendent
(Mr. Zukewich) in the Auditorium.
In addition to the above-mentioned new

Welcome Back to 2014-2015 School Year!
O
n behalf of the entire EBV staff we thank you for trusting us once again with your childs education.
I hope you had a restful summer and that you are ready to begin an exciting new school year.
This summer EBV went through some changes which will result in enhanced facilities that will
better serve our community. Our staff and students have demonstrated great fexibility in adapting to
certain limitations in our buildings. At EBV we strongly believe that every child is capable of achieving
success; it is our job as a community to come together and make it happen. It is with great enthusiasm
that I look forward to your continuing cooperation and collaboration in achieving common goals in our
community and to the beneft of our students.
A. Important Reminders
1. MORNING DROP OFF.
Every morning starting at 7:30 am staff members
on duty will be greeting students and making
sure they are safely dropped off. To this end we
assist your children in getting off the car and
steer them away from moving vehicles and into
a safe area.
Please help us by ensuring your child is ready
to get out of the car as the process needs to be
safe and speedy.
Staff members will be in the drop off area until
8:00 am as they must be ready for students and
in the classroom.
2. To ensure your childrens safety
(please avoid).
Parking on the street to walk your children
into the school campus.
Arriving before 7:30 am or after 8:00 am
3. Dismisssal.
Grades Pre K-4 are dismissed at 2:45 at the
small gym by the Early Childhood building.
Grade 5 is dismissed at 3:10 also in the small
gym. If you have children in both age groups
plan to be at the pick-up area by 3:10.
Secondary Students 6-12 gr who have
siblings in Elementary may also be picked up
in the small gym promptly at 3:10.
B. USE THE SIGNPLEASE
You should have
received a car sign
with your childs name
and grade on it. It
is essential that this
is placed in a visible
part of your vehicles
windshield and remain on the dashboard until
your child is in the car. This is to ensure safety and
promptness during school dismissal.

ienvenidos sean todos los estudiantes,
padres y empleados, tanto nuevos como
antiguos, a este nuevo ao escolar. Los
primeros das de clases en Agosto son siempre
llenos de energa y motivacin.
La asistencia a clases de los grados de PK al 12
en los primeros das fue de un 93% los cual fue
muy bueno. Siempre nos preocupa los otros 40
estudiantes que no han venido a clases en estos
primeros das de clases que son tan importantes.
En la medida en que trabajamos hacia las metas
comunes para sus hijos, nuestros estudiantes,
esperamos ansiosos la continuacin de una
cultura clara de apoyo para los padres, dirigida
a apoyar la instruccin, trabajando hacia la
misin y valores de EBV (octubre de 2013,
avanzado equipo de revisin externa - informe de
acreditacin)
La construccin del edifcio de 2 pisos donde va
a estar la cafetera, salones de clase y ofcinas
continuar segn la programacin establecida.
Las bases de acero para dicha estructura ya
fueron terminadas, sin embargo se continuar
con la construccin en este primer semestre pero
en una forma menos prejudicial.
Para lograr un proyecto de esta magnitud,
requerimos de todos ustedes una mayor
cooperacin y fexibilidad en el uso de los
espacios durante este ao acadmico.
Este es un reto que estoy seguro podremos
manejar efcazmente como comunidad que
somos. Hay un reto mayor que debemos manejar
y que todos hemos vivido, dentro de la escuela
como fuera de la misma, como lo es la falta de
agua. Invito a los padres a ponerse en contacto
con nosotros con el fn de ayudarnos a adquirir
este valioso recurso en el esfuerzo por llenar el
tanque continuamente. Un pequeo detalle y que
positivamente contribuir a la causa, es asegurar
que su hijo(a) traigan una botella de agua de la
casa todos los das
Espero verlos a todos en la noche del martes 2 de
septiembre en la Noche de Regreso a Clases.

a protocolos especfcos, expectativas,

.Los estudiantes no tienen permitido el uso de
su celular en la escuela de 8:00am a 3:10pm
(2:10pm los mircoles).

.Cartas de asistencia: Comenzara a recibir
correos y/o cartas con respecto a la ausencia
de su hijo(a). Despus de la 3ra ausencia de
cada periodo de clases, el profesor notifcar a,
padres y estudiante por correo. Despus de la
5ta ausencia, usted recibir una carta de la ofcina
acadmica solicitando una reunin con el director
de secundaria. Despus de la 8va ausencia usted
recibir otra carta informndole que su hijo puede
estar sujeto a la perdida de crditos por otra
ausencia. Note que a todos los estudiantes de
EBV se les conceden 8 ausencias por semestre
por cada clase.

Todos los estudiantes de EBV deben traer su
propio candado para el casillero asignado.

E
n nombre de todo el personal de EBV les agradecemos por confarnos una vez ms la educacin
de sus hijos. Espero que hayan tenido unas descansadas vacaciones y que estn listos para
comenzar un emocionante nuevo ao escolar. Este verano EBV paso por algunos cambios que
resultaron en mejoras de nuestras instalaciones, que servirn mejor a nuestra comunidad. Nuestro
personal y estudiantes han demostrado una gran fexibilidad en adaptarse a ciertas limitaciones en
nuestras edifcaciones. En EBV creemos frmemente que cada nio (a) es capaz de alcanzar el xito.
Es nuestro trabajo como comunidad el unirnos y hacer que suceda. Es con gran entusiasmo que
espero con inters por su contnua cooperacin y colaboracin para el alcance de metas en comn en
nuestra comunidad y en benefcio de nuestros estudiantes.
A. Recor dat or i os
1. LA LLEGADA EN LAS MAANAS.
Todas las maanas a partir de las 7:30 a.m. los
profesores de guardia recibirn y saludaran a los
alumnos, garantizando que sean dejados con toda
seguridad en la escuela. Para ello, asistimos a su
hijo al bajarse del vehculo y nos aseguramos de
alejarlo de los vehculos en movimiento a una zona
segura.
Por favor aydenos, garantizar que su hijo(a) est
listo para bajarse del vehculo como se necesita,
para que el proceso sea rpido y seguro. Los
profesores estarn en el rea de llegada hasta las
8:00 a.m., porque despus de esa hora deben estar
en sus salones de clase con sus alumnos.
2. Para garantizar la seguridad de su hijo(a) (por
favor evite):
Estacionarse es la calle afuera de la Escuela
y entrar caminando con su hijo.
Llegar a la escuela antes de las 7:30 a.m. o
despus de las 8:00 a.m.
3. Salida.
PRE K - 4 GRADO hora de salida a las 2:45 p.m.
por el gimnasio pequeo, rea de preescolar.
5TO GRADO hora de salida a las 3:10 p.m.,
tambin por el gimnasio pequeo. Si tiene nios
en ambos grupos, planifque buscarlos a las 3:10
p.m.
ALUMNOS DE SECUNDARIA 6TO-12VO
GRADO. quienes tengan hermanos en primaria,
deben ser recogidos por el gimnasio pequeo
rpidamente a las 3:10 p.m.
B. UTILICE SU AVISO.POR FAVOR
Usted debe haber
recibido un aviso
para con el nombre
y grado de su hijo/a,
para ser colocado
en su vehculo. Es
imprescindible que sea
colocado en un lugar visible del parabrisas de su
vehculo y permanecer en el tablero hasta que su
hijo(a) este en el vehculo. Esto es para garantizar
la seguridad y rapidez durante la salida.

Apreciados Padres,
Estn cordialmente invitados a nuestra Casa Abierta con motivo del Regreso a Clases de EBV el
Martes, 2 de Septiembre, 2014 a las 6:30 p.m. Comenzaremos nuestro programa en el Auditorio.
Despus de la presentacin de apertura, los representantes visitaran los salones de sus hijos. Donde
podrn conocer a los maestros, asistentes y familiarizarse con el programa del ao escolar. A fn de
facilitar este evento, los estudiantes no deben asistir a menos que el profesor lo solicite. Y no se les
olvide visitar a nuestros Especialistas.
