ThisisthesetofpoorKingVendrick,andifyouthoughtacquiringitwouldbeaseasyaspickinghis
gearfromhiscorpse,youaregoingtodisappointed.Itrequiresalittlebitofbacktrackingtothe
ShrineofAmana,whereyoucanfindahiddenpathjustalittlewaybeyondthesecondbonfirein
the area. Once Vendrick is defeated, which is no easy feat considering the fallen King can quite
comfortablykilloffmostbuildsinoneortwoswings,youcanopenthishiddenpathwayandgain
accesstohisarmour.Withitsdarkcolours,layereddesignandawesomeblackcloak,itseasilyone
ofthecoolestlookingsetsofarmourinthegame.Itevencomeswithacrowntoletthosepesky
demonsknowwhosboss.TheincludedshieldalsoprovidesaniceupgradetotheDrangleicShield,
alikelycomponentofmostswordandboardbuildsthroughoutthegamethusfar.fyoureallywant
to cosplay as Vendrick, you can also acquire his Ultra Greatsword by trading his soul to

13.MoonlightGreatsword
TheentiretyofthisentrycouldbewritteninthemannerofBenhartofJugo,theScottishaccented

slowmovingtankplayersduetoitssuperhighstats,anditcanbefoundonceagaininthesecond
game! You can find this ultra heavy gear by first acquiring the Forgotten Key in the Black Gulch.
This is done by defeating the two giants hiding in a cave underneath the section leading to The
Rottenbossfight.Oncethatsdone,headtoTheGutterandlocateahiddendoorbehindacircle

armour. It takes a lot of strength to equip but if youve got the muscle, itll repay you with

tododgewhentheyreawalking,talkingtank?
11.HandmaidsLadle
Hewhochoosesthisasaweaponeitherfacesextenuatingcircumstancesorhasanoddsenseof
humor.Ifyoucareforyourlife,leavethisoneinthekitchen.Thusreadstheitemdescriptionof
theHandmaidsLadle,retrievedfromMilibethinThingsBetwixtupondefeatingallthreeCyclops
enemiesinthearea.Theresnothingspecialaboutthisitem.Itdoesnothaveahiddenpowerwhich
is unleased upon upgrading or infusing or defeating a certain amount of enemies. The task this

buffindeed.YoullalsoreceivetheIdolsChime,whichisoneoftheearliestavailablehexbased
chimesinthegame.Gettingthisgearfromthatdirtyliarisverysatisfyingindeed.
8.VanquishersSeal
So,youthinkyourehardcore?YouthinkyourethebestDarkSoulsplayerthereis,andnoonecan
stand before your mighty prowess? The Vanquishers Seal better be in your inventory, or youre
lying. To acquire this ring, you must first enter the Covenant of Champions. As a part of this
Covenant,youwontbeabletosummonhelpthroughoutthegame,meaningallbosseswillhave
tobetakendownallonyourown.Everyenemywillalsobemadeimmediatelytougher,sogood
luckwiththat.Next,youllneedtocollect50Awestones,droppedbyvariousenemiesandinvading
players.Oncethatsdone,yourrewardwillbetheVanquishersSeal,aringwhichupsthepowerof
yourbarefistattacks.Thatsrightyouwillbegrantedthepowertosetswordsandaxesasidein
favourofsimplypunchesyourfoesinthefacebecauseyouareastraightupbadass.Itsalsoworth
notingthatthereareitemsreservedforplayerswhomakeitthroughtheentiregamewithoutdying
orusingabonfire.ButthatscrazierthanfightingthefinalbosswiththeMaidensLadle.
7.HeideKnightSet
Duringthegame,youllencounterthreeHeideKnights.Theyretheguyswithwhitecloakswho
lookutterlydepressedandwillonlyattackifyouattackthemfirst.Theyllalsoonlyspawnonce,
and during your first playthrough, youll get a different Heide weapon from each. The weapons
themselves, especially the Heide Knight Sword thanks to being found so early in the game, are
prettyhandy.Butdidyouknowyoucanactuallygetholdoftheirarmour?OnceinNewGame+,
eachknighthasachancetodropapieceofhisarmourratherthanhisweapon.Eventually,youtoo
can sit in the corners of the world of Drangleic, sighing deeply and only emerging from your
reflectivemusingswhensomerandomUndeadcomealongtryingtostealyourstuff.Justbearin
mindthatthesearenotguaranteeddrops,soequipyourbestitemfindinggeartominimizefarming.

ThisisoneofthemostludicrousarmoursetintheSoulsseriesaswellasthemostdangerous.If
you think the greatsword that is larger than your character is dangerous, you are wrong. If you
think the spell that throws an allconsuming fireball is dangerous: You are wrong. You see, the
MoonlightButterflyset,whichcanbeboughtfromMauglininNewGame+afterspendingenough
soulsonhisgear,willpoisonnearbyfriendsandfoes.Thismeansthathangingaroundnexttoa
hammerweildingmonstrositywillsoongethimfeelingqueasy,butsowillhangingaroundnextto
anyofthefriendlycharactersinMajula.Thesetalsolengthensyourjumpssothatyoumayflutter
gracefullythroughDrangleicliketheprettybutterflyyouwereborntobe.
5.TheVengarlSet
Dark Souls 2 is not much of a philosophical game, with only a hint of deeper questioning
penetrating the thick skin of its dragons, demons and put the sword in the face gameplay. But
sometimesthoughtprovokingcharactersandeventsoccur,likekillingUndeaddeepintheGutter
whoweresimplytryingtoscrapealivingdowninthedark,orquestionsofhowfarsciencecango

poemsaboutpeaceandtranquility.LettingVengarltellthetaleofhisjourneyfromwarriortowell
wisherwillprompthimtogiftyouwithhisunbelievablybadasswolfhelm.Youcanthenfindhis
headless body later and acquire the armour he donned in those early ruthless killer days,
completewithbloodyragsandamyriadofripsandtearsthatnodoubthaveinterestingstoriesto
telloftheirown.
4.DrangleicSet
Thisisanexcellentsetwhichmanyplayersmighthavemissedoutonearlyinthegamethanksto
beingfairlywellhidden.Manyshieldwieldingplayerswilllikelyhavefoundthemselveswiththe
DrangleicShieldmergedpermanentlytotheirleftarmbecauseofits100%physicalblocking,and
theDrangleicSwordisabrilliantweaponforthoselookingtowieldqualityweapons,whichbenefit
fromboththestrengthanddexteritystats.Thearmouritselfisalsoverygood,thoughyoulllater
findgearthatoffersmoreprotectionfortheweight.Eitherway,theearlyhoursofthegamecan
bespentverycomfortablyinthisset,andtheswordandshieldareusedbymanyplayersrightup
untilthefinalencounters.TofindtheDrangleicset,gobeyondthesecondPursuerarenaanddrop
downthecrumbledrampartsontheright.YournewDrangleicdigswillbewaitingforyouthere.
3.Avelyn
Forsomemen,onecrossbowisnotenough.Whatifanenemyweretocomealongforwhomone
bolt would simply not be enough? What if time was of the essence? Its commonly known that
crossbowsarecumbersometoload.So,forthosemen,whoneednotonebolt,nottwobolts,but
threeboltswhatoptionsarethere?Thereisoneoption.ThereisAvelyn.Thisthreeinarowfiring
crossbowisfoundintheUnceadCrypt,andthoughitlacksscalingthatbenefitsputtingpointsinto
particularstatsforincreaseddamage,usingittoquickfirecrossbowboltsdirectlyintothemuddy
facesofthosenastyfellowslookingtochewonyourlimbsisincrediblysatisfying.
2. TheSantiersSpear
Thisisaweaponwithaverycooltrickupitssleeve.ItsaspearthatcanbefoundintheDoorsof
Pharros, a trapriddled player vs. player area filled with doors waiting to be unlocked that often
lead to tricks, but sometimes lead to treasures. The Santiers Spear is one of those treasures. To
findit,lookforathreesectioneddoorclosetotheGyrmsRespitebonfire.Thespearhasalarge
chunkofrocknearitstip,butifyoubashthedurabilitydown,thatrockwillfalloffandtheweapon
willchangesignificantly.Itgainsattacksfromvariousmovesets,includingthespinningtwinblade
styleattacksaswellasspearattacksandcurvedswordattacks.Thismakesitincrediblyversatile
andveryflashy.Forplayersmoreintopolearmsthanswords,thiscanbeaverypowerfulweapon
thatatfirstseemstobeasplainastheycome..
1.RingOfWhispers
ThisisaninterestingringthatsavailableforpurchasefromthecatlivinginMajula,SweetShalquoir.
Theringitselfisnotsomuchasecret,butitsusecertainlyis.IntheShadedWoodsarea,alarge
manscorpionstandsaloneinasandyarena.HisnameisManscorpionTark,suitablyenough,and
whileanunawareplayermightmistakehimforanenemy,thisbeastisactuallyapotentialally.To
talktohim,youllneedtoequiptheRingofWhispers.Tarkwilltheninteractwithyou,andyoull
unlocktheabilitytosummonhimduringtheareabossfight.Itsaroughbattleandheprovides
invaluablebackup.TheRingofWhisperswillmakeaneerienoisewhenenemiesarenearandits
easytoassumethatthisisitsonlypurposeifyouarentawareofthissecretuse.
