We believe that the struggle to

preserve our planet is not about us. It's
about you.

-Amazon Rainforest deforestation
A bit about the Amazon:
The amazon Rain forest is a vital
part of the Earths survival. It is
the largest remaining rain forest
left teeming with approx. 40000
plant species, 10% of the worlds
known species, home to around
2 & million insects, and also
home to around 400 tribes. It
also produces 20% of the Earths
oxygen, thats why its called
Lungs of the planet. But sadly
we are losing 200,000 acres of
the Rain forest every day.

Who We Are
About us:
We are an independent global
campaigning organization that acts to
change attitudes and behavior, to
conserve and protect the environment
and to promote peace. We started off in
1971 when a small boat of volunteers
and journalists sailed into Amchitka, in
the north of Alaska where the US
government was carrying out
underground nuclear tests. We are now
present in 40 other different countries &
have been working together for 40
years. We do not accept any donations
from the government. Only from
individual supporters & foundation
grants, and now today we have 2.8
million supporters worldwide. We
believe that we exist to expose
environmental criminals , and to
challenge corporations and the
government to promote justice to the

SAVE THE
AMAZON
By: Nichole Suarez Perdomo

Stand with the
people of Brazil to
SAVE THE
AMAZON

What we are doing to the Rain
forests of the world is but a
mirror reflection of what we are
doing to ourselves and to one
another -
Mahatma Gahndi

How you could help:
The amazon may be suffering from
many different types of
destruction but, there is a way that
you yourself can help:
*Buy only sustainable and
environmentally friendly products
*Support the people or companies
who make efforts to save the
amazon
*Educate others about what is
happening in the amazon Rain
forest & how they too can help.
*Buy woods that are more
environmentally friendly
*You can even BUY some Rain
forest land for preservation!!

Amazon Rain forest destruction
Why we need to protect the
Amazon:
We need to save the amazon
from the ongoing illegal logging,
cattle grazing, farming, road
building, hydroelectric dams,
and mining operations. The
consequences that the Amazon
suffers from because of the
destruction is: soil erosion,
water & air pollution, carbon
dioxide in the atmosphere, loss
of biodiversity by extinction of
animals and plants, global
warming increases, loss of tribes,
wide spread flooding, &
epidemics. All of that is
affecting the Earths survival,
and our own.
