SikhitotheMax A Quick User Guide

The new version of Sikhitothemax contains Gurbani from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib
Ji, the Siri Dasam Granth Ji and Bhai Gurdaas Ji Dia Vaaraa.

Indexes have been created for each of these sources

Within the sub heading you will find the shabads.


With the exception of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib
Ji index the view mode of the shabad can be
changed by going to view selecting your mode and
then selecting the shabad.

The Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji index will bring back
the shabads in Akhand Padth mode only.

The tradition search
facilities are still there but you can
now search fully in English and also
using English phrases.

Filter your results is a new feature and you can sub filter as well. For example you can
first sort the results by those shabads
written by a specific writer and then filter
down to the shabads written in a
specific raag. Simply press search after each
filter.
In your search you can specify a source and it
will filter the shabads to show only shabads
from that source.
To go back to the main view simply select ALL from each drop down menu.

You can sort your results in ascending order or
descending order of any column heading on the
main screen.


Simply click once on a heading to sort ascending and

again descending order.

You can group the results to view then differently simply by dragging & dropping the
column heading into the designated area.
It informs you the number of shabads under that sub heading between the
brackets. To go back, simply drag and drop the column heading back on to
the main body of the page.

You can tag the shabads you wish to go back to by
checking the tick box. You can save tag by clicking on
the on the floppy disc or choose from the options under
the ribbon button.

You can change the View mode of a shabad by going to the View Tab
on the ribbon. One of the best loved features of the SikhitotheMax
software is the PowerPoint facility. The slide navigator in this facility has been
improved to make it easier to present the different shabads a single
kirtani may perform during a kirtan diwaan.

Initially the slide navigation brings up the sentences of the first
shabad. If when the kirtan goes to another or a second shabad then a
sub search facility has been included. This search is a first letter
search anywhere and in Gurmukhi ONLY. The user needs to have a
good understanding of the Gurmukhi keyboard and to select a shabad simply double click.
Once a selection has been made the shabad is added to the bottom of the previous
shabad on the slide navigation. You can go back to the main search screen of the
SikhitotheMax software by clicking on back.

The Hukumnama display mode and Adobe Pdf mode are new
features. The Hukumnama display mode displays the selected
shabad in a scrolling notepad (just like the Akhand Paat mode)
which ideal to display the daily Hukumnama in a Gurdwara.

The Adobe Pdf display mode displays the selected shabad in a
PDF format and is useful for printing,
mailing and other electronic devices
such as PDAS.

The Options tab allows you to bring back the shabad as
Laarrevaar with no spaces between the words; with or without Roman Transliteration,
with or without Bisraams or commas (this is a facility that has been added to inform
users where the pause is to be taken in a
sentence).


Group box and Explorer bar simply alter the
appearance of the Indexes on the left Navigation Bar. The PowerPoint File allows users
to change or alter the background of the PowerPoint, users can upload their own designs
simply by saving their PPT files in to the same directory at the SikhitotheMax Software.
