Prince Bogusaw Radziwi (1620-1669) one of the best known personalities

connected to the Deluge, a Lithuanian noble and prince of the Holy Roman Em-
pire. He gained his rst military experiences while ghting in the Dutch army aga-
inst Spain in early 1640s. He took part in ghts against the Cossacks and comman-
ded the foreign pattern units at the battle of Beresteczko in 1651. Awarded by king
John II Casimir with the rank of the general of the royal guard, in 1655 he supported
Lithuanian forces besieging Mogilev. During the Deluge he tried to create an inde-
pendent state at Podlasie by accepting Swedish control. He led his own forces and
Swedish reinforcements, among others, in Tykocin area. In 1656 he was captured
by Tartars at the battle of Prostki, however he was rescued during the battle at
Filipw. Since 1657 he served elector Frederick William Hohenzollern as the gene-
ral governor of Ducal Prussia. He led the Brandenburg-Prussian forces against the
Swedes since 1658.

Always on the Winning Side
During the Deluge prince Radziwiachieved much more at a negotiation table than in battle.
If you want to use this rule you must inform your opponent about this during the Orders Phase of the rst
turn of the game (if you forget to do this the rule does not work). At the end of the battle, if it ends in a
draw, roll a die. If you roll a number equal or less than the number of turns played then instead of a draw
you achieve a tactical victory.

ment, as Insubordinate. In order to transfer a Command Point to them or to give Instructions to the
Commander of such regiment you must spend 1 additional Command Point.
Prince Bogusaw can be used in the following ways:
1. The prince as the commander of his own division, including his private forces and Swedish reinforcements. Historically these
units never appeared on the battleeld in such numbers but we want to make it possible for the players to try out a new in-
teresting option. Banners marked as elite pancerni are the two best cossack style cavalry banners in the Lithuanian army
(the old hetman Radziwis banner and prince Bogusaws own) in order to emphasize their elite status they are deployed
in the game as elite pancerni. For tournament or campaign games the player using the princes division must declare whether
it is a Polish or Lithuanian division.
2. The prince replaces a general in any Brandenburg division from The Deluge expansion. You may not use the princes own
Combined Cavalry Regiment in such a division.
