The cruse may be cancelled, but the demons

may remain
Just as other demons do not automatically leave at
the time of salvation, neither do the demons that
you get from your ancestors automatically leave
you either.
Lets say that you accepted Jesus at age 15.
Because you were born a sinner and outside of
Gods covenant, you were still living under the
curses handed down to you and demons can enter
you through those curves. nce you have accepted
Jesus, those curses are bro!en automatically, but
often the demons that entered in before you
accepted Jesus still need to be cast out. "n other
words, the curse is already bro!en, and there is no
need for you to brea! any generational curses. But
the demons who entered into you through those
curses before you accepted Jesus may still need to

God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth
generation of those who hate ?im2.

passed down from one generation to the ne4t. Ahen a father has a sinful

fallen world we are born in a sinful state and can only be redeemed by our

Aithout Jesus humans do not see or comprehend the depth of
mans depravity. &herefore, salvation is the ultimate in brea!ing the
cycle of generational sin. &hen as the new generation begins a
family must see! to follow the biblical model for marriage,
parenting and living in order to replace the old destructive ways.

Ahen family members submit to Gods command, the result is

God created a perfect family system, but sin has damaged it. ur
only way to have a family that bears fruit is to follow 0hrist. "nstead
of a cycle of pain, the generation that chooses to follow Jesus sows

believers struggle with generational sin, especially if they are the

have wounded us and to sacriIce our desires for the good solution

n the other hand, it is obvious that the sins of parents do a@ect
their children. +avid and Bathshebas Irst born son died after birth
due to their sin. &he "sraelites, as a nation, were punished by God
for their sin, and that punishment sometimes a@ected the children
as well. &oday, we see how parental sin a@ects children. &hose who
grow up watching sinful behaviour are often more li!ely to engage
in it themselves. 0ertain sins ta!e parents out of the home or
inhibit their ability to be loving caregivers, setting the children up
for possible problems in the future. -ddiction often has genetic
components. &he relatively new Ield of epigenetic is suggesting

those scars are passed down genetically to the third and fourth

all of us. Ae are all born with sinful natures because -dam chose to

&he type of curses handed down as a result of an ancestors sin is
automatically atoned for on the cross, providing we do not hide the sins of
our forefathers in our hearts 3holding sin in our hearts is never a good ideaC

nce you become a child of God, no longer will be the sins of your

#o why there are so many believers who seem to be living under a
generational curseO &his has puMMled me before " understood how it wor!s
too. Ahat may need to be dealt with though, is any bondage that was
already passed down to you before you came into covenant with God. &he
legal grounds are certainly paid for on the cross and therefore bro!en. &he
only thing left to do is cast out any spirits that have gained entrance before
you accepted Jesus.
5. -nd once we live our lives worthy of God by faith and obedience in
