additional year. It assumes you already have IBM SPSS Statistics 19 installed on your
computer.
Before you Start
Before you begin, make sure you have your Authorization code(s) handy. Note that each
Authorization code licenses only a limited number of installations. Your maximum number
of installations is indicated on the message that lists your Authorization code(s).

install SPSS Statistics on the same machine, be sure to save your license file, lservrc,
located in the SPSS Statistics installation directory. After re-installation, put this file back
in the SPSS Statistics installation directory to restore your license. Do not go through the
License Wizard for re-installation.
If you replace your computer or its hardware, you will need a new Authorization code to
get a license for the new equipment. If you find out that you have exceeded the allowable
number of licenses specified by your Authorization code, contact OIT Administrative

The License Authorization Wizard sends your authorization code over the Internet to IBM
and automatically retrieves your license. Firewalls may prevent successful licensing over
the Internet.

If the authorization process fails (for example, due to a firewall), you will be
prompted to send an e-mail message. Choose whether to send the e-mail message through
your desktop e-mail program or through a Web-based e-mail application.

If you choose the desktop option, a new message with the appropriate information
will be created automatically.

If you choose the Web-based option, you must first create a new message in your
Web-based e-mail program. Then copy and paste the message text from the License
Authorization Wizard into your e-mail application.

Send the e-mail message and respond to the prompt in the License Authorization
Wizard. When the license code arrives (which may be within moments)

If the License Authorization Wizard is still open, click Enter License Code(s) and
paste the license code(s) that you received from IBM into the Enter Codes panel.
If you already closed the License Authorization Wizard, restart it, select License
my product now, and paste the license from IBM (NOT the Authorization code
from OIT) into the Enter Codes panel. Click Next.
Note: Use ctrl-v to Paste the license into the License Authorization dialog.
