inner circle will discuss the text for 10
minutes
there will be a 5 minute break in the middle so that
the inner circle can get feedback from their partners
in the outer circle
outer circle will take notes on their partners
performance and will coach them to improve
after the break
switch places!
Socratic Seminar Guidelines
All members of the inner circle are expected to actively
participate in the discussion.
Try to stay on topic and reference the text as much as
possible. Refer to specific passages.
Try to direct your comments and questions to each
other and not to the Seminar leader.
Please maintain rules of civil discourse. Its fine to
disagree with a persons ideas, but never to criticize the
person offering them.
Members of the outer circle must remain silent until the
seminar is over.
