This document provides guidelines for coordinating fuse links of different amp ratings to prevent power surges. It contains tables listing the minimum continuous current ratings in amps that two adjacent fuse links must have to properly coordinate and prevent power overload. Notes explain that coordination can generally be achieved between fuses up to 13-24 times the rating of the downstream fuse, depending on the fuse type. The continuous current rating for tin fuse links is 150% of the listed rating for smaller fuses.

Notes: The current ratings are divided into two categories, preferred and non-preferred. Although neither group is favored for field installation, the categories are convenient for coordination purposes. The preferred sizes are shaded in the table. The continuous current for Silver links is 100% of the rating. The continuous current for Tin links is 150% of the rating for 100K and smaller fuses. The continuous current for 140K Tin is 190 amps and 200 amps for 200K Tin. Rule of Thumb coordination can be satisfactorily obtained between adjacent ratings in the same category up to 13 times the rating of the downstream fuse.

Although neither group is favored for field installation, the categories are convenient for coordination purposes. The preferred sizes are shaded in the table. The continuous current for Tin links is 150% of the rating for 100T and smaller fuses. The continuous current for 140T is 190 amps and 200 amps for a 200T. Rule of Thumb coordination can be satisfactorily obtained between adjacent ratings in the same category up to 24 times the rating of the downstream fuse.
