Abstract
In this paper Lorentzian para-Sasakian manifold [1], [2], nearly LP-Sasakian manifolds and almost LP-
Sasakian manifolds have been discussed and some of their properties have been established. Semi-symmetric metric
connection [3] has also been discussed.
Keywords: Nearly and almost LP-Sasakian manifolds, generalised LP-Cosymplectic manifolds, semi-symmetric
metric connection, Completely Integrable manifold

1. Introduction
An n-dimensional differentiable manifold

, on which there are defined a tensor field of type (1, 1), a

vector field , a 1-form and a Lorentzian metric g, satisfying for arbitrary vector fields , , ,
(1.1) = +(), = 0, () = 1, , () = 0, rank =n-1
(1.2) g (, ) =g (, ) + ()(), where () = (, ),
`(, ) , = `(, ),
Then

is called a Lorentzian paracontact manifold (an LP-Contact manifold).

Let D be a Riemannian connection on

, then we have
(1.3) (a) (

`) , + (

`), ()(

)() = 0
(b) (

`) , + (

) ()(

) = 0
(1.4) (a) (

`) , + (

`) , = 0
(b) (

`) , + (

`) , = 0
A Lorentzian paracontact manifold is called a Lorentzian parasasakian manifold (an LP-Sasakian manifold) if
(1.5) (a) (

`)(, ) () , () , = 0
On this manifold, we have
(b) (

Nijenhuis tensor in an LP-Contact manifold is given by
(1.6) `(, , ) =

2. Nearly and almost Lorentzian parasasakian manifold
An LP-contact manifold is called a nearly Lorentzian parasasakian manifold (a nearly LP-Sasakian manifold) if
(2.1) (

`)(, ) () , () ,
= (

`)(, ) () , () ,
= (

`)(, ) () , () ,
The equation of a nearly LP-Sasakian manifold can also be written as
(2.2) (a) (

) (

) () + () = 0
(b) (

) (

) () + () = 0
(c) (

`)(, ) (

`)(, ) () , + () , = 0
(d) (

`)(, ) (

`)(, ) ()( , ) +()( , ) = 0

These equations can be modified as
(2.3) (a) (

) (

) + () = 0
(b) (

`),

`(, ) + ()`( , ) = 0
(2.4) (a) (

) (

) + () = 0
(b) (

`) ,

` (, ) + () , = 0
(2.5) (a) (

) (

) (){

+ (

)} + () = 0
(b) (

`)(, ) (

`)(, ) ()(

) + (

`)( , ) +() , = 0
An LP-Contact manifold is called an almost Lorentzian parasasakian manifold (an almost LP-Sasakian manifold) if
(2.6) (

`)(, ) +(

`)(, ) + (

`)(, )
2{() , + () , + () , = 0
3. Generalised Lorentzian para-cosymplectic manifold
An LP-Contact manifold is called a generalised Lorentzian para-cosymplectic manifold (a generalised LP-
Cosymplectic manifold) if
(3.1) (a) (

) = 0
(b) (

`) , = 0
Inconsequence of (1.3) this equation can also be written as
(3.2) (a) (

) ()

(b) (

Thus a generalised LP-Cosymplectic manifold is an LP-Sasakian manifold if
(3.3)

=
An LP-Contact manifold is called a generalised nearly Lorentzian para-cosymplectic manifold (a generalised nearly
LP-Cosymplectic manifold) if
(3.4) (a) (

) (

) = 0 (b) (

`) , = (

Or
(3.5) (

`)(, ) ()(

) ()(

= (

`)(, ) ()(

) ()(

)
= (

`)(, ) ()(

) ()(

)
It is clear that A nearly LP-Sasakian manifold is a generalised nearly LP-Cosymplectic manifold, in which
(3.6) (a) (

) = , (b) (

)( ) = `( , ) (c)

=
An LP-Contact manifold is called a generalied almost LP-Cosymplectic manifold if
(3.7) (a) (

`) , +(

`) , + (

`) , = 0
(b) (

`)( , ) + (

`)( , ) +(

`)( , ) = 0
(c) (

`)(, ) + (

`)(, ) + (

`)(, ) ()(

) +(

)
()(

) +(

) ()(

) + (

) = 0
Therefore, A generalised almost LP-Cosymplectic manifold is an LP-Sasakian manifold if
(3.8) (

) + (

) = 2 ,
4. Semi-symmetric metric connection
Let us consider a connection on

, defined by
(4.1)

+() (, )
The torsion tensor of is given by
(4.2) (, ) = () ()
Further, if (

) = 0, then is called a semi-symmetric metric connection.

Put
(4.3) (a)

+(, )
Where is a tensor field of type (1, 2), then
(b) (, ) = () (, )
(c) `(, , ) = ()(, ) ()(, )

(d) `(, , ) = `(, , ) `(, , )
Where
`(, , ) (( , ), )
`(, , ) (( , ), )
In an LP-Contact manifold with the semi-symmetric metric connection B, it can be seen that
(4.4) (a)

(b) (

)() = (

)() ,
(c) (

`)(, ) = (

`)(, ) ()`(, ) ()`(, )

(d) (

`) , = 0
(e) (

`) , +(

`) , = 0
(f) `(, , ) =

`(, )

`(, ) (

`), + (

`)(, )
Hence
An LP-contact manifold is called a nearly LP-Sasakian manifold if
(4.5) (

`)(, ) () , () ,
= (

`)(, ) () , () ,
= (

`)(, ) () , () ,
The equation of a nearly LP-Sasakian manifold can also be written as
(4.6) (a) (

`)(, ) (

`)(, ) () , +() , = 0
(b) (

`)(, ) (

`)(, ) () , + () , = 0
These equations can be modified as
(4.7) (

`),

`(, ) +() , = 0
(4.8) (

`) ,

` (, ) + () , = 0
(4.9) (

`)(, ) (

`)(, ) ()(

An LP-contact manifold is called an almost LP-Sasakian manifold if
(4.10) (a) (

5. Completely Integrable manifolds
Barring, , in (1.6) and using equations (2.2) (d), (3.1) (b), (3.4) (a), (1.4) (a) and (1.4) (b), we get `( , , )
=0,which implies that a nearly LP-Sasakian manifold, a generalised LP-Cosymplectic manifold and a generalised
nearly LP-Cosymplectic manifold are completely integrable.
Barring X, Y, Z in (1.6) and using equations (1.4) (a), (1.4) (b), (4.10) (b) and (4.15) (a) we can prove that an almost
LP-Sasakian manifold is completely integrable if
(5.1) (

`)( , ) + (

and ageneralised almost LP-Cosymplectic manifold is completely integrable if
(5.2) (
