After placing a length of pipe in the trench) the spigot end shall be centered in
the socket and the pipe forced home and aligned to gradient !he pipe shall
be secured in place with approved backfill material tamped under it except at
the socket $ipes and fittings which do not allow a sufficient and uniform
space for joints shall be removed and replaced with pipe and fittings of
