The program includes human resource education in order to learn Japanese business and culture through case study and internship program in Japanese companies.

Under this program, international students will receive education and conduct research on the specialized areas as follows; Management of Industry and Technology, Material and Life Science, Biotechnology, Molecular Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, Precision Science & Technology, Applied Physics, Adaptive Machine Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Manufacturing Science, System, Control and Power Engineering, Advanced Electromagnetic Energy Engineering, Information and Communications Technology, Quantum Electronic Device Engineering, Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering, Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering
2. Application Requirements Those who hope to find employment in a Japanese company after completion of master course, which is set as one of the purposes of this program.
3. Qualifications for Application Applicants must meet one of the following requirements and it is preferable to have Japanese language ability to pursue studies. In addition, applicants who have Student residence status or expect to have the status as of April 2014 is eligible to apply. (1) Those who have graduated or expect to graduate from a Japanese university or college by March 31, 2014. (2) Those who have been or expect to be awarded a Bachelors Degree by March 31, 2014 by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation. (3) Those who have completed or expect to complete 16 years of formal study in a foreign country by March 31, 2014. (4) Those who have completed or expect to complete correspondence courses in Japan which are administered by foreign schools and thus completed 16 years of formal study in a foreign country by March 31, 2014. (5) Those who have graduated or expect to graduate from a university in a foreign country (and have completed 16 years of formal study) by March 31, 2014. The foreign university should be an educational institution recognized as such by the local educational system, and the course the applicant is graduating from should match one of those designated by the Minister of MEXT (the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Technology of the Japanese Government).
- 2 - (6) Those who have graduated or expect to graduate from a college by March 31, 2014, and have completed in a course that matches one of those designated by the Minister of MEXT. (7) Those who have been approved by the Minister of MEXT (As described in Ministry of Education Directive, Vol.5. 1952). (8) Those who are at least 22 years of age by March 31, 2014, and can be recognized as having academic abilities equivalent to those of university graduates with passing the Examination of Applicants Qualifications conducted by the Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University.
4. Examination of Applicants Qualification In the above-mentioned Qualifications for Application, those who fall under (8) must have taken the Exanimation of Applicants Qualification by the application period. Such persons must inquire of the International Students Section at the Academic Affairs Division about the required documents and submit them to the Section by October 25 (Fri.), 2013. Only those who pass the Examination may apply for preliminary screening. The result of the Examination of Applicants Qualification will be informed by the dean of the Graduate School of Engineering.
5. Preliminary Screening Those who meet the above 3. Qualifications for Application or those who have been approved in 4. Examination of Applicants Qualification must take the preliminary screening prior to application. Only those who have passed the preliminary screening can apply for admission.
(1) Application Materials for Preliminary Screening: Materials Details 1. Application of Preliminary Screening for Advanced Educational Program of Career Development for International Students from Asia A photograph should be pasted on the prescribed form. Photographs: taken within the previous three months, showing the upper part of the body, no hat, frontal pose. 2. Certificate of Japanese Language Proficiency An applicant should submit one of the followings: 1. Certification by the academic advisor (no prescribed form, his/her seal is needed) 2. Result of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students 3. Result of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test 4. Records from a Japanese language college 5. Document issued by the Center for International Education and Exchange, Osaka University 3. Certified Academic Record (transcript) of the last two years Certificate from the last school an applicant attended. (Written either in Japanese or in English.) 4. Graduation Certificate Certificate of graduation or expectation to graduate from the last school an applicant attended showing the degree obtained. (Written either in Japanese or in English.)

(3) Period and Place of Preliminary Screening: We will announce to you by October 28 (Mon.), 2013 by e-mail for details. Period: Between October 30 (Wed.) and November 5 (Tue.), 2013 Place (scheduled): Bangkok, Shanghai, Hanoi and Osaka; Japan Preliminary Screening: an oral examination (written examination if necessary)
The result of the Preliminary Screening will be informed by November 5 (Tue.), 2013 by e-mail.
6. Application Procedures / Application Materials Those who have passed the Preliminary Screening must send necessary application materials during the period below.
(1) Application Materials: Materials Details 1. Application Form A photograph should be pasted on the prescribed form. Photographs: taken within the previous three months, showing the upper part of the body, no hat, frontal pose. 2. A Photocopy of Applicants Passport On A4 size paper 3. Application Fee Pay 30,000 yen and submit a copy of the payment certificate. For details, applicants will be notified prior to the application.

7. Period of Entrance Examination We will announce to applicants between November 11 (Mon.) and November 15 (Fri.), 2013 by e-mail. Period: Between November 25 (Mon.) and November 29 (Fri.), 2013 Subject of examination: Oral examination (written examination if necessary)
8. Announcement of Results December 20 (Fri.), 2013
9. Enrollment Procedures (1) Period Complete the enrollment procedures during the assigned period. As for the details such as date and necessary materials, we will announce in the middle of February 2014.
(2) Fees Admission Fee: 282,000 Japanese Yen Tuition Fee (Spring Semester) 267,900 Japanese Yen (Fall Semester) 267,900 Japanese Yen (Total of a Year) 535,800 Japanese Yen Regarding how to pay the fees, each successful applicant will receive a notice later. The amount of admission fee and tuition fee are subject to change. Amendments to fees will be applied from the date of amendment.
10. Scholarships Following scholarships are to be provided to successful applicants upon selection. (1) Same amount of scholarship as that of admission fee and tuition fee (2) Monthly allowance: same amount as that of MEXT scholarship In principle, those who are to receive scholarships outside of Osaka University will not be provided any by this program. The amount of scholarship is subject to change. Graduates of this program are expected to find employment in a Japanese company. Therefore, we do not provide travel expenses back to their home countries.
11. Policy on Handling Personal Information (1) Names, addresses, and other personal information will be used in the entrance examination process, in the publication of the list of successful applicants, and in the admission procedures. For those admitted to Osaka University, personal information will also be used for academic-related matters (keeping academic and registration records), for student support matters (health care management, school fee exemptions and applications for scholarships, career support, etc.), and for school fee management. (2) Information obtained from the entrance examination will be used for statistics/analysis of examination results and research on admission methods.
- 5 - 12. Notes for Applicants (1) Incomplete documents will not be accepted. (2) Any documents submitted on applying will not be returned. (3) The content of submitted documents cannot be changed after the application procedure has been completed, and the examination fee is NOT refundable. (4) Applications may be rejected or admission may be revoked even after admitted to the university, if any information or material in the application is found to be fraudulent. (5) Contact us at the following address by November 7 (Thu.), 2013 if you have any physical disabilities and need assistance when taking exams and/or while taking courses of study after enrollment in Osaka University. (6) The parking lot for cars and bikes on campus is not available. Please use public transportation. (7) Admission will be revoked if the applicant abroad is not able to arrive in Japan by the designated date. (8) For any questions on application procedures, please contact the office below.
