Telephony VSAT Full Telephony Capabilities

SkyEdge™ Call is a two-way satellite-based solution
providing full telephony capabilities with toll quality
voice, fax and in-band data with unique value added
features. SkyEdge Call is perfect for rural telephony,
Universal Service Obligation (USO) projects and all
thin route telephony needs.
National and regional carriers must provide remote
communities with required universal services. Gilat,
the leader in rural satellite telephony, created the
perfect VSAT for the market. SkyEdge Call is efficient,
fully-manageable and low cost. Quick installation and
easy remote management mean connectivity can be
established anywhere, providing a competitive edge
through benefits such as affordable per line costs and
low per minute operating costs.
SkyEdge Call fully addresses the telephony requirements
of rural communities. Features include toll quality voice,
high rate fax and pay phone support. Prepaid calling using
regular phones is available to decrease installation costs,
increase revenues and simplify the collection of money.
SkyEdge Call manages numbering plans to conform with
PSTN conventions, enabling consistent dialing schemes
for both terrestrial and VSAT subscribers.
Designed for the Rural Environment
Superior reliability with ultra-low power consumption
make SkyEdge Call perfect for telephony where AC power
is either not available or unstable, supporting the use of
solar panels and batteries. Furthermore, with the flexibility
offered in selecting from the two special power save modes,
the SkyEdge Call allows optimizing between performance
and power consumption according to the sites and the
applications used.
