This is Skill guide for Ragnarok DS. I originally make this for my personal use, but since it might also be useful to everyone, I am sharing it here. I hope that it will be some help for people who want to know about skill in this game. If you feel that this FAQ need improvement or need correction, you can do so on the board of Gamefaqs since I don't have a policy of make my e-mail public, nor that I would take a look at e-mail from unknown sender anyway. I welcome any suggestions and corrections (no complain, please.) One more thing to add, English is not my first language. If you find English error or some Engrish, please forgive me XD. Also if you want to contact me, don't even try to e-mail me as I said earlier. I am most likely not checking my e-mail anyway. You can make a discussion at GameFAQs board, though. I should be there almost every day (with a little time difference since I live in Japan.) If you don't see me anymore, then that also means that by that time I have no more interest to update it anyway. So, this should be fare enough :) This document is made by Pichtt of the GameFAQs. What is skill? (wisk) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Skill is everything in this game! Skills will help you with your game play in lots of ways. You can use it to attack, defense, support, or do some other things. There are 2 main types of skills in this game, Active and Passive skills. +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ 1.1 Active skills. (wisk0110) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Active skills are skills that require you to trigger or to activate it. Usually, you will need to set this kind of skills in a short cut panel to use them. There are many ways to use this. This type of skill has rank (for more info about rank, check Q&A section [quan]) - Touch Self Use stylus to touch yourself. Usually, something that will improve your character - Touch Ally Use stylus to touch Party member, including you. It is mostly for healing skills and buffs. - Touch Location Use stylus to touch any where. It doesn't matter if there is something over there or not, as long as that place is accessible. - Touch Enemy Use stylus to touch target enemy. - Slash Enemy Use stylus to draw a slashing line at your enemy. - Tap Target Use stylus to tap enemy multiple times. You will see an orange bar at your character. It is charging time and the skill may active before it is fully charge if you tap enough time already. - Tap Area Use stylus to tap at any area on the map. Usually, you will be able to tap 2 times on low level skills and 3 times for higher level skills. - Line on Ground Use stylus to draw a line anywhere on the map. It doesn't matter if your line is straight or not. You can even scratch your line at some point and you will be fine. - Circle on Ground Use stylus to draw a circle anywhere on the map. Usually for fast Area skills. - Charge Direction Press your stylus at a direction. Release when you want to use it. Usually for range attack. *There are 3 phase for every Charge skills. When it is white, it means that the skill is not yet ready. A small yellow means it can be used, but not quite effective yet. A big orange means it is fully charge. You can attack during charge if you choose a target before using skill. - Charge Location Press your stylus at a location. Release when you want to use it. Note that since it says location, it is not an area skill. - Charge Area Press your stylus at an area. Release when you want to use it. This is usually area skill. - Charge Self Press your stylus over your character. You can release if you want to quickly use it, or you can wait it to max charge and trigger automatically. - Max Charge It is almost the same with Charge Self. Just that it requires that you need to fully charge for it to work. - Charge/Release Press your stylus over your character. When it is charged and ready to be used, drag stylus into a desire direction. - Special Case (Charge/Select, Touch Trap) Charge/Select is for Warm Wind skill. After a charge, a choice of element will be available for you to choose. Touch Trap is Hunter skills that need to be use on traps. +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ 1.2 Passive skills. (wisk0120) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Easy enough, when you have these skills, you don't have to do anything special. I will always be activated and there will be no SP cost at all. A lot of Passive skills are very useful. These skills will not use up your short cut slots. Lastly, they have no rank. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= iEEEGEGDf GG LLffjjjjftff ,ji E DfGttjjjjfDG EjE itt. Obtaining Final skill (obfs) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Final skill is a skill that cannot be obtained by normal means. Normally, no matter how much skill point you gained or how much you level, the skill won't appear before you. What you need to do to have access to this skill is that you will need a "spirit" item for each job. For example, you will need "Shaman Spirit" to be able to use Shaman's final skill. To obtain Spirits, you will need to have your choice of class as your guild member. Note that your story NPC is not included (Rolek and the other can be use to obtain Spirits, though.) You will need to do 2 things: Change them to Job 2 and make their status Buddy/Friend. If the conditions are met, a new quest will be available at the guild and you will get "Spirit" item as your reward for clearing it. Once you got it, you will have it forever since it will be sitting in your key item list. So, you will not have to worry about it if you want to change job or do limit breaks. However, it doesn't mean you will be able to use it as soon as you have the Spirit. You will still have to distribute your point to some other skills first. Check skill list section (skli) to see which skill is needed to unlock which skill. In this section, I will only tell you details about the quest to get spirit item for each class since requirements fore each quest are the same as mentioned above. +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ 2.1 Knight. It is among the best job of choice to run wild in Mirage tower. You can solo MT very early on, and this class has very fast killing time, too. I sometimes go challenge MT even as soon as I change to second job. You just need to pierce away everything. Low on health? Potions will heal lots more than you would have hoped. Ran out of Potions? Just stand there and look at your health filled up! You don't even need to look for final skill to be a killing machine and you don't even need that much SP since pierce requires so little. Equipments usually have higher defense and range of weapon often have more attack point. Well? +==================================+==========================================+ | 3.1.1 first job skill (skli0111) | Skill point total: 58 +==================================+ +----------------------------+ | Sword Mastery | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: 2H Sword Mastery(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A This skill increase damage when using one handed sword. It is rather useful since your damage output will be automatically upgrade. Is there any reason not to upgrade this? Well, unless you are not planning to use one handed sword, get this skill. +----------------------------+ | 2-Hand Sword Mastery | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: 2H Quicken(5) Auto Counter(8) Skills needed: Sword Mastery(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A This skill increase damage when using two handed sword. You might got confuse with picture with two swords. It still means "one two handed sword." Don't try or worry about equip two weapons with this job. It won't work. +----------------------------+ | Bash | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: Magnum Break(5) Fatal Blow(8) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: low Using method: Slash Enemy Usefulness: S A high damage skill that you can get very early on. Since it requires low SP and can be use quickly, this skill is a must in most situations. It will get even better later since there is a skill that improves this skill, Fatal Blow. +----------------------------+ | Magnum Break | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: Bowling Bash(5) Skills needed: Bash(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: mid Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: A Area explosion is nice. It is a fire elemental attack that can hit a mob very fast. Damage is not as good as Bash, but it is a multi-target skill. +----------------------------+ | Fatal Blow | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Need for skills: Shining Sword(5) Skills needed: Bash(8) Minimum skill point to access: 8 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: C Chance to stun enemy when using Bash, how nice can it get? Well, in fact, I won't give it much credit. Why? Since Enemy tend to die before it even got stunned. And most enemy who don't die being hit by Bash, usually is a boss or something that immune to stun. While the concept is nice, it don't really have its opportunity to shine that much. +----------------------------+ | HP Recovery UP | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A This skill help increasing natural HP regeneration and recovery item effect. Every 5 seconds, this skill will heal you according to this formula: (Skill Lv) * 5 + (MAXHP) / 100 While it is nice to be able to recover for free, it takes times. The more useful part of this skill is the fact that Potions' effect got boost if you ask me. +----------------------------+ | Moving HP Recovery | +----------------------------+ Maximum level: 5 Need for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: D HP will also regenerate while you have this skill, or so it said... I don't know why, but it doesn't work in my game. Having this skill doesn't change a thing in my case. If anyone know what is wrong with this, any info would be very helpful. But for now, I don't recommend you to depend on this skill. +----------------------------+ | Provoke | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: Brandish Spear(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: low Using method: Touch Enemy Usefulness: B It makes your enemy angry. It will attack you like crazy while forget to defense. In other word, this skill will lower enemy defense while increase its attack. It is actually a very helpful skill for fighting against boss and stuff with high defense. +===================================+=========================================+ | 3.1.2 second job skill (skli0112) | Skill point total: 90 +===================================+ +----------------------------+ | Spear Mastery | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: Pierce(3) Charge Attack(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A This skill increase damage when using spear. In my experience, Spear Knight is usually stronger. So if you want to be a Spear knight, you can save skill points when you are swordsman and use those points on this skill. +----------------------------+ | Pierce | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: Spear Boomerang(3) Spear Stab(5) Skills needed: Spear Mastery(3) Minimum skill point to access: 3 SP use: low Using method: Tap Target Usefulness: S This is spear skill. You need to equip spear to use this. It will stab enemies to death. I really mean it. It is super deadly and even though it suppose to attack only the target chose by you, most of the time near by enemies would get hit, too. Damage from this skill is high plus it is multiple attacks and on top of that, it consumes only a little SP. This is a real killer. +----------------------------+ | Charge Attack | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: Flame Burst(5) Skills needed: Spear Mastery(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: high Using method: Charge/Release Usefulness: C Your character will dash forward and damage any enemy in your way. Seriously, it is not quite worth you SP and charge time. It is not that accurate and if you miss, you will waste your SP, time and your mood. +----------------------------+ | Spear Boomerang | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Need for skills: - Skills needed: Pierce(3) Minimum skill point to access: 6 SP use: low Using method: Charge Direction Usefulness: B It is range attack which can be used while using spear. You will throw a spear at a target when using this skill. Not too bad of a skill for attacking enemy far away...which is not really what a knight should be doing. +----------------------------+ | Spear Stab | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: Brandish Spear(5) Skills needed: Pierce(5) Minimum skill point to access: 8 SP use: low Using method: Charge/Release Usefulness: C A spear skill. This skill will make you thrust your spear towards a target direction. Not good in most situation since you will have to charge for some time. During that period, you can't move. By that time, enemy might move away from you. Since this is a close range skill, you will waste your time for nothing in this case. +----------------------------+ | Brandish Spear | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: Flame Burst(8) Skills needed: Provoke(5) Spear Stab(5) Minimum skill point to access: 18 SP use: okay Using method: Charge Self Usefulness: B A spear skill. I gave this skill B rank, but it could easily be A rank if used properly. Much like Spear Stab, it is charge type skill. But it is an area attack and its range is quite good. At max level, your attack will reach about 2/3 of DS screen. +----------------------------+ | 2-Hand Quicken | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: 1-Hand Quicken(5) Bowling Bash(5) Skills needed: 2-Hand Sword Mastery(5) Minimum skill point to access: 10 SP use: okay Using method: Touch Self Usefulness: A Slash fast with your two handed sword. It improves your ASPD by a bit. It is good to use specially pairing with Muramasa. But ASPD bonus is not that great. Not a bad choice of skill, though. +----------------------------+ | 1-Hand Quicken | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: - Skills needed: 2-Hand Quicken(5) Minimum skill point to access: 15 SP use: okay Using method: Touch Self Usefulness: A Slash fast with your two handed sword. Same thing with the previous skill only that it works with one handed swords. +----------------------------+ | Auto Counter | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Need for skills: Bowling Bash(5) Skills needed: 2-Hand Sword Mastery(8) Minimum skill point to access: 13 SP use: low Using method: Touch Self Usefulness: D Wait for enemy to attack you, and then you can counter with critical hit. The hit you receive will also be nullified. Sound good? I don't think it is as nice as it sound. Usually, this skill fails since waiting time is the problem. Unless you are really getting use to this skill, it is quite hard to catch enemy attack. In some case, enemy might use magic on you, which will make this whole thing meaning less. On the other hand, even if you can master the use of this skill, I find it a lot easier to just smack my enemies in their face even before they got a chance to attack me. +----------------------------+ | Bowling Bash | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: Shining Sword(8) Skills needed: 2-Hand Quicken(5) Auto Counter(5) Magnum Break(5) Minimum skill point to access: 33 SP use: okay Using method: Slash Enemy Usefulness: A Not as fancy as it was back in PC version. Regardless, it is still quite good skill. It still deals a huge amount of damage, while it also hurt enemies nearby. But unlike PC version, Enemy won't get knocked very far. But considered this awesome damaging rate, this skill still rocks. +----------------------------+ | Shining Sword | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: - Skills needed: Bowling Bash(8) Fatal Blow(5) Minimum skill point to access: 49 SP use: Super Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: A You need to equip sword to use this skill. I would see this is the upgrade version of Magnum Break. It does nice amount of damage, it is area skill, and fast to cast. If you are using sword as your weapon, this skill won't let you down. +----------------------------+ | Flame Burst | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Need for skills: - Skills needed: Brandish Spear(8) Charge Attack(5) Minimum skill point to access: 23 SP use: Super Using method: Charge Area Usefulness: C Yea, that's right. I just give C for a final skill and I am sure of it. It can attack an area with fire spear. So what? It just takes too much time and effort and SP. It is nice to deal successful attack since damage is high, but Bowling Bash can also do that. +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ 3.2 Assassin class (skli0120) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Skill point total: 129 Remember how Pecopeco Sonic Blow you to death at the very beginning of the game? Remember how Vagabond Wolf Sonic Blow you to death at some where in the middle of the story line? Remember how Zealotus Sonic Blow you to death when you are about to go to fight with final boss? WE WILL BE THE ONE WHO SONIC BLOW THEM THIS TIME!!! Assassin is a class that should be quick, swift, and good at dodging attacks. Odd enough, this class doesn't have any skills that improve its ASPD at all. However, Katar will grant a double critical rate. You can put points at LUK and make a good Critical attacker. +==================================+==========================================+ | 3.2.1 first job skill (skli0121) | Skill point total: 49 +==================================+ +----------------------------+ | Double Attack | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A Unlike in PC version, this skill will grant double attack on knife AND katar. An extra attack is always welcome, don't you think? +----------------------------+ | Increase Evasion | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A It improves your evasion rate. Assassin is supposed to have high AGI and low VIT. This skill will help Thief and assassin stay alive longer by improve an already good FLEE rate. +----------------------------+ | Steal | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Stealth(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: low Using method: Touch Enemy Usefulness: D I usually like to steal in RPG game. When I play Final Fantasy series, when ever I got a chance, I would steal. Not in this game. Usually you will get what that monster usually drops. Most of the times you will get useless items, Monsters never drop 4 slots weapons. In this game, money is so easy to find and you will not have to worry about it much even if you are using Mammonite a lot. Stealing rate is also low and you will usually get worse item. +----------------------------+ | Stealth | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Grimtooth(5) Giga Slave(8) Skills needed: Steal(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: okay Using method: Touch Self Usefulness: C You will be invisible after using this skill. You will be able to move while Stealth when it reach level 5. Seriously, it is so pointless. Most Bosses will be able to see you anyway and some of enemies will also be able to see you. Enemies that can't see you when you are hiding usually are something you don't need to hide from. Once you start to attack, this skill will be canceled out and you will be seen once again. +----------------------------+ | Envenom | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Detoxify(3) Enchant Poison(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Slash Enemy Usefulness: C If can use this skill as if you are using Novice Attack skill. It can poison Enemy, and so what? Usually Poison does so little damage that I don't even see any different. I would rather have a mage do physical attack than waiting poison does it damage. This skill itself does okay damage, though. That's why I say it is a Novice Attack for Thief. +----------------------------+ | Detoxify | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 1 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Envenom(3) Minimum skill point to access: 3 SP use: low Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: D It cures Poison from your allies. That's it. As I said earlier, poison hardly does anything and that includes you, too. The only reason I want to get rid of poison status from my character is that I don't like it to have my character to turn purple. You will be able to use Green Herb or Green Potion to do this task for you. Why not use item when it is so easy to find and cheap? +----------------------------+ | Sand Attack | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Stealth(3) Minimum skill point to access: 8 SP use: okay Using method: Slash Enemy Usefulness: C It can cause blind to enemies and is EARTH element attack. Nothing is special about this skill. It is another Novice Attack with blind property. How do you like that? +===================================+=========================================+ | 3.2.2 second job skill (skli0122) | Skill point total: 80 +===================================+ +----------------------------+ | Right-Hand Mastery | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Left-Hand Mastery(3) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A Unlike PC version, even if you hold 2 weapons, you will do only an attack a time. This skill will improve attack of weapons that you hold with your right hand. Well, not really improve, but without this skill, that weapon attack would get lower. This skill just gets rid of that penalty. ? +----------------------------+ | Left-Hand Mastery | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Right-Hand Mastery(3) Minimum skill point to access: 3 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A It is the same thing with the previous skill. You will want to up grade both for dual wield weapon. That is why in most case Assassin chooses to use Katar instead. +----------------------------+ | Katar Mastery | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Sonic Blow(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A Increase damage when using Katar. A katar will always grant you double Critical which is a really nice feature for this class. By all means, if you are using katar, just use this skill. +----------------------------+ | Sonic Blow | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Grimtooth(5) Sonic Acceleration(5) Cyclone(8) Skills needed: Katar Mastery(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: mid Using method: Tap Target Usefulness: S It hits 8 times and there is a chance to stun enemy. Cast time is pretty fast. It hits hard. It hits fast. Many times we suffered from this skill use by monsters. That should tells you how good this skill can be against monsters. +----------------------------+ | Grimtooth | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Giga Slave(8) Skills needed: Sonic Blow(5) Stealth(5) Minimum skill point to access: 20 SP use: low Using method: Slash Enemy Usefulness: B It is not a bad idea to hit enemy while can not be seen. Or so we thought. It sounds brilliant in theories, but it is not that good in reality. About half of monsters can see through Stealth, and attack speed from this skill will get you know where. If enemy cannot see you, you can use this for a safety kill, but it is not the best way. +----------------------------+ | Enchant Poison | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Venom Dust(5) Skills needed: Envenom(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: mid Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: D It makes your attack have Poison element which is suck. No enemy would get more damage out of poison and damage from being poison is pathetic. In other hand, enemy which is immune to poison can be seen easily (say hello to those zombies.) Nothing will get better if your weapon turned poison. +----------------------------+ | Venom Dust | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Sonic Acceleration(5) Skills needed: Enchant Poison(5) Minimum skill point to access: 10 SP use: mid Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: B While I do not really like Poison element, this skill is different. It does inflict poison on your target, but this skill's damage is what makes this skill worth using. It is a Circle on Ground type so it can be cast pretty fast. Just don't use it because it can poison. +----------------------------+ | Sonic Acceleration | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Sonic Blow(5) Venom Dust(5) Minimum skill point to access: 25 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A This make the already deadly Sonic blow even more deadly. It increase damage and hit rate for Sonic Blow. Obviously, you will want extra damage for your lethal weapon. +----------------------------+ | Giga Slave | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Grimtooth(8) Venom Dust(8) Minimum skill point to access: 46 SP use: super Using method: Charge Area Usefulness: B I must admit that this Final Skill doesn't impress me that much. It deals large damage and can stun enemies in okay area. The thing is that it takes time to use and it is not that much of a deal compare to Sonic Blow. It is not too bad, so it is okay to use, I guess. +----------------------------+ | Cyclone | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Stealth(8) Sonic Blow(8) Minimum skill point to access: 26 SP use: super Using method: Charge/Release Usefulness: B You dash forward and slash anything in your way. Since sometime a hit and run is not too bad strategy, this skill might be useful in some case. If you are up against some slow boss, you can just run away, charge, and release this skill pass the boss and run away again. +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ 3.3 Priest class (skli0130) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Skill point total: 135 This class is considered a supportive class. Or rather, it sucks when it comes to attack by their selves. But, I do not mean that this is a bad class. I actually think the opposite. In fact, I clear Mirage Tower for the first time with this class with a help of another player that did not limit breaks that much or even have Spirit item at all. Even though I said this job is really bad at attacking, it is a god of defense and surviving. In fact, if played properly, this job class is invincible. No magic or physical attack can actually be strong enough to take a skilled priest down. With another attacking class player with you, your team will be unstoppable. +==================================+==========================================+ | 3.3.1 first job skill (skli0131) | Skill point total: 54 +==================================+ +----------------------------+ | Divine Protection | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Demon Bane(1) Angelus(3) Blessing(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: B This skill reduce damage receive from Daemon and Undead monsters. To tell you the truth, I might me too harsh ranking this one for only B rank. But, for me, I think it is easier to just beat the crap out of enemies even before they get a chance to attack me. Plus, it is just these two types of monsters. But since those two types of monsters are usually strong, so just cannot overlook this. +----------------------------+ | Demon Bane | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Divine Protection(1) Minimum skill point to access: 1 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A This time, the skill increase damage deal on undead and demon type of monsters. This time I think it is really useful since most of those kinds of monster are pretty tough. This extra damage will definitely makes your fight easier. +----------------------------+ | Angelus | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Kyrie Elesion(3) Skills needed: Divine Protection(3) Minimum skill point to access: 3 SP use: high Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: B This skill increases every ally in that area in defense. As the level increase, the defense bonus, too, increase. +----------------------------+ | Blessing | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Holy Light(5) Skills needed: Divine Protection(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: high Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: S Anyone who played PC version would know about the "ABK" skills. This skill is the B of the ABK skills. This skill grants you a whooping boost in STR, INT, and DEX. Those stat are always important for every class and this bonus boost is not little if you ask me. If you have a chance, always cast this. +----------------------------+ | Heal | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Sanctuary(5) Cure(3) Increase Agility(5) Ruwach(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: mid Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: S A supportive skill that will never get old as it is super useful. High level skill heals a lot, and I really mean a lot. You can fight until your health is in red zone, and if you cast heal on, then problem solved. One more thing is that this skill can hurt Undead type monster. So, when facing with zombies or the likes, this class can use this skill as another attack method. +----------------------------+ | Cure | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 1 Needed for skills: Pneuma(1) Resurrection(1) Skills needed: Heal(3) Minimum skill point to access: 3 SP use: okay Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: C It will cure a lot of abnormal status except Poison, undead, and curse. Seriously, I normally don't think status abnormality in this game actually matter much, except Stun, Sleep, Paralyzed, Freeze, and petrified which if you got one of these negative status, you will not be able to cast cure on yourself anyway. Sleep, Freeze, Paralyzed, and petrified can be cure by getting hit once so it is not too bad and Stun does not takes too long to cure. One nice thing that it can cure is blind but I think that is about it for this skill. +----------------------------+ | Increase Agility | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Holy Light(5) Skills needed: Heal(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: mid Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: A This is an 'A' skill of "ABK." This skill will improve your AGI stat by a good amount. But the best thing about this skill is that your moving speed is also increased. Skill level will not affect moving speed, so I usually upgrade this skill as soon as I can, but to level 1 only. I would go back to upgrade to level 2 or more when I feel that I do not need skill point on something more important. But the first skill level is indeed priceless. +----------------------------+ | Ruwach | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 1 Needed for skills: Pneuma(1) Lex Divina(1) Skills needed: Heal(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: low Using method: Touch Circle on Ground Usefulness: D Unlike Wizard's Sight, this skill doesn't really do anything. Sure it can do HOLY element damage, but in the end, it doesn't really damage anything if the monster was not hiding in the first place. +----------------------------+ | Teleportation | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 1 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Pneuma(1) Minimum skill point to access: 8 SP use: low Using method: Touch Self Usefulness: D This is Yggdrasil leaf in a form of skill. What I want to say is that you can use item instead since it is basically the same thing. You should always carry Yggdrasil leaf every where you go anyways. So there are no real points to be using this skill when you could easily buy the item anywhere easily. Well, it might be useful if your customer rank is still poor, though. +----------------------------+ | Pneuma | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 1 Needed for skills: Teleportation(1) Holy Light(1) Skills needed: Ruwach(1) Cure(1) Minimum skill point to access: 7 SP use: low Using method: Touch Location Usefulness: D (E for Rolek's Pneuma.) I hate this very much. I hate it for its uselessness since this game has only 2 enemies that can deal range attack, Raydric Archer, and Mandragora. I hate it even more when my priest NPC tries to cast this over and over without any enemy who can do range damage when they should be healing. +----------------------------+ | Holy Light | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Maelstrom(5) Skills needed: Blessing(5) Increase Agility(5) Pneuma(1) Minimum skill point to access: 7 SP use: okay Using method: Touch Enemy Usefulness: B This is a weak, HOLY element attack. But since this is one of the very few attack skill Priest class will be able to have, I think any priest still should have this. Of course, unless you are a combat priest who held +3 4-slotted Hard cover book and 2 Megingards. +===================================+=========================================+ | 3.3.2 second job skill (skli0132) | Skill point total: 81 +===================================+ +----------------------------+ | Mace Mastery | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: B Although it is good to have a damage boost passive skill, it is not necessarily always effective. It depends on what you want your priest to use. You can dream about using this skill to boost Mjolnir damage, but it is too bad that priest cannot use this mace. So, if you are planning to use mace with your Priest, go ahead and upgrade this. +----------------------------+ | SP Recovery UP | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Resurrection(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: B Usually, Priest with high enough INT will not suffer SP shortage problem. But just to be on the safe side, you can upgrade this just for a little, there is no need to go all out and upgrade it to level 8. If you are planning to get Resurrection, then 5 is all you will ever need. +----------------------------+ | Impositio Manus | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Aspersio(3) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: A Another attack boosts skill. Attack boosts from this skill goes as much as blessing. So, if you already cast blessing on a character, you can boost even more destructive power with this skill. +----------------------------+ | Aspersio | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Safety Wall(5) Skills needed: Impositio Manus(3) Minimum skill point to access: 3 SP use: high Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: B It makes your attacks turn into HOLY element. I personally think that HOLY element is the most useful element you can attach to your attack since most of the strong monsters are weak to HOLY elements. As the result, among weapon- element-modify skills, this skill is kind of the most useful of all. But unless you are dealing with monster that weak against HOLY, this skill is not much of a deal either. +----------------------------+ | Sanctuary | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Safety Wall(5) Skills needed: Heal(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: mid Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: B (E for Rolek's Sanctuary.) Heal is a very helpful skill as you know. Then, how about group healing skill? This supposes to be a great skill, right? Wrong! It is true that Sanctuary is an area skill that can heal by huge amount multiples of times, it is also true that it will heal monsters, too, unless they are undead. So, basically, as your health will be refilled, so does enemies. It is not so bad if used by a skilled player and if used in a correct timing. But usually the AI will just use it when ever your party health falls a little low. In some case, even if enemies have a very low health already, the AI will still use this skill. This skill is one of the reasons why people have problem with the final boss of the game. +----------------------------+ | Magnificat | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Gloria(3) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: high Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: B This skill boosts Allies SP recovery rates. Not every class has a SP recovery skill, but most of the class will need to use SP. This skill is useful for those who do not have enough SP. But if you like to play solo or do not care about Teammates of if your teammates are ones with SP recovery skill, then you this skill is not that much of a deal. +----------------------------+ | Kyrie Elesion | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Gloria(3) Skills needed: Angelus(3) Minimum skill point to access: 6 SP use: mid Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: S This skill will makes you immune to Physical damage. This skill is the reason I called Priest as an invincible class. If you combine this skill and the effect of Golden thief bug card, you will be truly invincible. If you are doing support role in your team, make sure you have this skill in your short cut menu. This is the K skill of the ABK skills. +----------------------------+ | Resurrection | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Magnus Exorcismus(5) Skills needed: Cure(1) SP Recovery UP(5) Minimum skill point to access: 9 SP use: Super Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: B You can use Yggdrasil leaf to revive the fallen allies. But you can do a better job with this skill at later level since at max level you will be able to revive your allies back to full health. So you will not need to heal them after reviving. This skill also is able to hurt undead monsters. But, normally, the leaf would do just fine in most case. So, unless you are really bad at this game you will not have to worry about this skill much. +----------------------------+ | Gloria | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Magnificat(3) Kyrie Elesion(3) Minimum skill point to access: 12 SP use: mid Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: C It boosts your allies LUK status. I think LUK boost is somewhat helpful, but I think it is better to just boost STR or INT or AGI since they are more reliable. Just think of it as in real life. Do you think those who rely on their luck would be as successful as those who rely on their determinations? +----------------------------+ | Lex Divina | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Lex Aeterna(5) Skills needed: Ruwach(1) Minimum skill point to access: 6 SP use: mid Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: C It silences enemies in the area, preventing them from using any skills. While I think it is kind of useful in concept, I think it is still not as useful in reality. Monster will still be able to attack you. They will be less dangerous especially those with dangerous skill such as Sonic blow, but if you are still not aware, you will get kicked in the ass by those muted monsters. +----------------------------+ | Lex Aeterna | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 1 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Lex Divina(5) Minimum skill point to access: 11 SP use: low Using method: Touch Enemy Usefulness: B The next attack after this skill will deal twice in damage. This is one of the skills which can be both bad or deadly depends on how you use them. If you use this skill and attack with your INT base Priest, you will not go anywhere and better of just hitting them. But imagine if you are playing with a Blacksmith with a Mammonite... This way it is like your priest can do as much damage as Mammonite with this skill. Use this skill wisely. +----------------------------+ | Safety Wall | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Magnus Exorcismus(5) Skills needed: Sanctuary(5) Aspersio(5) Minimum skill point to access: 18 SP use: mid Using method: Touch Location Usefulness: A Here comes another skill that strengthens your defense. This skill will make a panel that will nullify any physical attack. Since Priest can cast Kyrie Elesion, which has the very same effect, this skill is obviously inferior since you cannot move. But I cannot deny the fact that this skill is useful. Although, the effect of this skill will last longer than Kyrie Elesion, in most of the case, you will see that the ability to move win in the end. You will not want to stay in the same place that long anyway. +----------------------------+ | Magnus Exorcismus | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Maelstrom(8) Skills needed: Resurrection(5) Safety Wall(5) Minimum skill point to access: 34 SP use: high Using method: Charge Area Usefulness: B Bad news for Undead and Daemon monsters, this skill will rip them apart in no time. This skill will summon a holy cross and attack Undead and Daemon monsters with crazy damages multiples time. It is too bad that this only works with those two types of enemies and casting time is long. Priest will still have a rough time with another type of monsters. +----------------------------+ | Maelstrom | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Magnus Exorcismus(8) Holy Light(5) Minimum skill point to access: 56 SP use: super Using method: Charge/Release Usefulness: B Finally, it is a real attack skill for priest. This will creates a ball of energy that pierce through enemies. It only hit once, but it will pierce through, so it will work great with enemies that come in line. Damage is not bad, but charge time might be a problem. But since Priest has Safety Wall and Kyrie Elesion, that should not be too much problem. +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ 3.4 Hunter class (skli0140) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Skill point total: 136 Hunter class kind of disappoints me in this game. In PC version, this class is broken since you will hardly miss due to the fact that DEX gives you both attack power and accuracy, so you don't need to worry about STR. Hunter got wide range of elemental arrow to use and you will hardly receive any damage due to long range attack and high AGI. Moreover, you can shoot arrow as fast as you are using machinegun and if you have high enough LUK and a falcon with you, You will see your falcon fly back and forth non-stop. We still have them here in DS version, but they have been nerf so bad! ASPD in this game is not as fast as in PC version. Game vision is limited due to DS small screen, so you will not have that much range benefits. You will no longer be able to shoot arrow from up hill down or the other way around, so no more sneak attack for you. Elemental arrow is still there, but is outclassed by STR boost of Megingards of other classes. Good news is that you will need to buy only one arrow to be able to use them forever and you will not need to buy traps. But that doesn't matter much anyway. This class is good to use in the story mode and for the most part, but when it comes to Mirage tower run, bows and arrows are not really cut for it. Later in the game, when you have better range of equipments, a hunter with knife will work better eventually. +==================================+==========================================+ | 3.4.1 first job skill (skli0141) | Skill point total: 56 +==================================+ +----------------------------+ | Owl's Eye | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Vulture's Eye(3) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A It wouldn't hurt to have more stat bonus, especially one which increase your attack power. This skill will grant you 1 DEX per level. Since, if you are using bow, your attack will increase greatly every 10 DEX point, this skill will definitely help you reach that attack bonus easier. +----------------------------+ | Vulture's Eye | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Vulture's Eye(3) Skills needed: Owl's Eye(3) Minimum skill point to access: 3 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: B (until level 3) It increases your hit rate, which is not much of a deal, but the increase of attack range of your bow is what makes this skill shines. Well, not really. 1 HIT bonus per level is a joke, and you will never be able to maximize its range bonus usage as your DS screen cannot zoom out that much. I say that you will actually need 3 level of this skill and you will be able to shoot your arrow as far as your screen can go. Never go further than that. I would say that after level 3, I would give this skill E rank. +----------------------------+ | Improve Concentration | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Detecting(3) Falcon Arrow(8) Skills needed: Vulture's Eye(3) Minimum skill point to access: 6 SP use: high Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: B More DEX and more AGI for any ally. At level 1, you get +3 for each stat and increase by one for every level. This means that at level 8, your DEX boost will go as much as +10 which will surely net you DEX attack bonus for bow type weapon. Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Arrow Shower(5) Machine Gun Arrow(8) Skills needed: Vulture's Eye(3) Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Charge Direction Usefulness: A This is my favorite skill as of Archer for some reasons. With dual Bongun equipped, this skill deals awesome damage for 2 times. Sadly, its cast time is pretty slow considering the face that Hunter usually has to do hit and run tactic. So, unless your enemy's movement is slow or you have a tanker, you will not have a chance to use this skill much. +----------------------------+ | Arrow Shower | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Charge Arrow(5) Skills needed: Double Strafing(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: okay Using method: Charge Area Usefulness: C It will hit enemies in an area. Damage it dealt is not that bad, but not that great either. And from my experience, by the time you finish charging this skill, you and your teammates should already kill of most of the enemies already. I usually end up using this skill on just one enemy since the rest are already dead. So, I prefer Double Strafing instead of this skill. +----------------------------+ | Arrow Crafting | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: B It gives you one attack bonus for each level for bow user. Although I like status boosting passive skills, this skill gives you too small status bonus. It is not too bad to have, but having this skill will not help you that much. It will do nothing for you at all if you are using knife in the other hand. +----------------------------+ | Charge Arrow | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Phantasmic Arrow(5) Machine Gun Arrow(5) Skills needed: Arrow Shower(5) Minimum skill point to access: 10 SP use: low Using method: Charge/Release Usefulness: C About the same charge time as Double Strafing and about the same damage as one hit form Double Strafing. The only thing that Double Strafing doesn't have is that this skill can knock back enemy. That's it. Nothing is special about this skill. +===================================+=========================================+ | 3.4.2 second job skill (skli0142) | Skill point total: 80 +===================================+ +----------------------------+ | Beast Bane | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: B It help you deals more damage on Beast (Animal) type of monsters. While it attack boost is kind of neat in number, usually this type of monster is not a big deal. You will be able to kill Beast type of monster with not much effort anyway. So, unless you are still in the story run or are still pretty weak, you will not need this skill since you should be already strong enough to fight Beast type monster. But for the most part of the story run, this skill is really helpful. +----------------------------+ | Land Mine | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Remove Trap(1) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Touch Location Usefulness: B This skill is an EARTH elemental type of trap. It is easy to use and you can get this skill very early. This skill can be used quickly, so it is perfect for using with hit and run strategy. It also be able to hit multiple enemies near by, so it is a good way to kill a weak group of monsters. +----------------------------+ | Ankle Snare | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Touch Location Usefulness: A It will lock a monster in that location, that monster will not be able to move for a while which allows Hunter with bow attack freely without having to worry about getting hit. This old classic trick is always nice to use. But, it will not work for some monster, such as bosses, so you will have to stay alert until you make sure that it works. +----------------------------+ | Flasher | +----------------------------+

Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Blast Mine(1) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Touch Location Usefulness: C This skill, unlike what it sounds, puts enemies to sleep. It is better than Ankle Snare if you want to flee since Ankle Snare will only stop enemy from moving or, in the other word, change position only. It still is able to attack you or even use skill. But if it sleeps, then it will completely stop harming you. But you will have to not hit it or it will come back and get you. +----------------------------+ | Freezing Trap | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Blast Mine(1) Skills needed: Flasher(1) Minimum skill point to access: 1 SP use: okay Using method: Touch Location Usefulness: B This skill is a WATER elemental type of trap. Much like Land Mine, it can hit many enemies in one shot if timing is good. I do not think it can inflict Freeze, But I cannot say this with total confidence. It never happens with my Freezing Trap, though. +----------------------------+ | Blast Mine | +----------------------------+

Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Blast Mine(1) Minimum skill point to access: 4 SP use: okay Using method: Touch Location Usefulness: B This skill is a FIRE elemental type of trap. Much like Land Mine, it can hit many enemies in one shot if timing is good. I know that you are already sick of the exact same comments as the previous ones. But I can' help it since they are really are the same with only element different. Forgive me >.< +----------------------------+ | Remove Trap | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 1 Needed for skills: Spring Trap(1) Skills needed: Land Mine(1) Minimum skill point to access: 1 SP use: low Using method: Touch Trap Usefulness: D "Pointless" is all I can say about this skill. Just like its name, what it does is it can remove trap. Why do you want to remove your trap anyway? You don't really need to buy trap to use them, much less have to carry traps around. Once you set a trap, you can place another one without remove the previous trap manually since the game will automatically remove it for you. I try to think hard why I want to remove my own trap and I cannot think of anything. If someone knows, please tell me. But as for now, this is the most useless skill in the entire game. +----------------------------+ | Phantasmic Arrow | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Charge Arrow(5) Minimum skill point to access: 15 SP use: okay Using method: Charge Direction Usefulness: B It does okay damage and use up some time to charge. This arrow attack can also inflict random abnormal status. From what I saw, it can inflict curse, poison, blind, paralyze, sleep, and confuse. So, it is not too bad for your AI teammates to use, but definitely not for us player. +----------------------------+ | Blitz Beat | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Detecting(3) Spring Trap(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: low Using method: Slash Enemy Usefulness: A Here comes my favorite skill on ROPC. It is still one of my favorite skills in this game. This skill will make a falcon attack enemies in horizontal line. Thus, this can also attack multiple enemies. Good thing about this skill is that its damage is decided by ATK. So no matter if you have lots of DEX and using bow or lots of STR and using knife, this skill will still do great with both. Each hit is not that strong, but it can hit up to 5 times and it doesn't have cast time. You can spam this skill as much as you like. In Mirage tower, I like to destroy bright sphere using this. it is really nice to have in your shortcut bar. +----------------------------+ | Detecting | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Improve Concentration(3) Blitz Beat(3) Minimum skill point to access: 12 SP use: low Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: D I do not see as many opportunity to use this skill. Most invisible monster will reappear before you will ever have a chance to use this skill by attacking you. So, unless you know exactly where that invisible monster is, you will have a hard time aiming with this skill. Also, unlike Sight and Ruwach, it will not hurt enemies. Kind of a let down, if you ask me. +----------------------------+ | Spring Trap | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Falcon Arrow(5) Skills needed: Remove Trap(1) Blitz Beat(5) Minimum skill point to access: 7 SP use: low Using method: Touch Trap Usefulness: D It is kind of pointless, but not completely. Unlike Remove Trap, this skill can do something useful (even if it is not much.) This skill will activate trap that had been set using falcon to touch it. Most of the case, it will just go KABOOM and the trap will be gone. Then, what is the different between this and Remove Trap then? Well, as I said so many times before that some of the traps can hit multiple enemies. This means that even if enemies did not touch it, as long as it stays close enough, it will get caught up in the burst. Same case happens here. But it is kink of difficult to aim and it will be a lot easier just to set a new trap. So it is still out of league. +----------------------------+ | Machine Gun Arrow | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Double Strafing(8) Charge Arrow(5) Minimum skill point to access: 18 SP use: high Using method: Tap Target Usefulness: C You must equip bow to use this skill. This skill will makes you rapid fire your arrow like da machine gunzzzz!!!!..........Or so it says. If you actually get to use this skill, you will be disappointed. By the time you get this skill, you will be able to attack faster than the skill itself. Damage is not different than normal attack much and it use some time to get ready to shoot. Plus, you cannot move during attack animation. Basically, it is a lot better to just attack normally than use this skill. +----------------------------+ | Falcon Arrow | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Improve Concentration(8) Spring Trap(5) Minimum skill point to access: 26 SP use: super Using method: Slash Enemy Usefulness: A You must use knife to be able to use this. This skill will let you attack with your falcon for huge damage. It is a slash enemy type of skill, so cast time is pretty fast. But it takes time to activate since the attack animation will include the time when your falcon set off and the time it comes back to attack in that spot. During that time, enemy might already move away. So, you will have to make sure that enemy will stay at the same spot when the attack actually lands. Besides that point, this skill can do huge amount of damage and it is fast to use. Basically, it is one of the reasons why I said Knife hunter is better than Bow hunter. +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ 3.5 Blacksmith class (skli0150) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Skill point total: 141 Broken! With blacksmith, there are lots of useful passive skills and a lot of useful buff skills. It is easy to get 999 ATK and 200 ASPD. Actually, you will eventually have too much STR with all buff together and high enough initial stat. That is not all, you will have a lot of broken attack skill that you some of awesome skills will look so normal. Since this happens, some of usefulness will look unbalanced. I seriously think that this class should share its awesome skill they don't need with some other class. Anyway, if you look at the skills list you will understand what I mean in no time. +==================================+==========================================+ | 3.5.1 first job skill (skli0151) | Skill point total: 45 +==================================+ +----------------------------+ | Increase Weight Limit | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A Normally, I would think this skill is not that much of an offer since all it can do is increase the quantity of items you can carry from 20 to 30, 40, 50, 70, 99 in that order. Normally, even with common item such as sticky mucus will not drop that much and you will be able to sell them often. So I thought it is not much... But I was wrong! This is super useful in one case, and that one case change the whole image for this skill. That one thing is to be able to carry 99 Yggdrasil Berry and 99 Yggdrasil Seeds. You will be able to do MT runs without ever going back to refill your item for a lonnnnnng time. +----------------------------+ | Discount | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Overcharge(3) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: D Well, its name says plenty already. You will get discount from every shops. Start at 9% at level 1 and increase 3% for every level which max at 30% discount. What are you waiting? Buy now! ......Yea, it really sounds like an advertisement program. And that's about it. Since you will have plenty of Zenny to spend around in the end, it is kind of not matter much. I even buy 99 Yggreasil berry without have to think back. Stuffs from stores are not that good anyway except healing items. +----------------------------+ | Overcharge | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Discount(3) Minimum skill point to access: 3 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: C It will allow you to sell stuff with higher price. Lv 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Charge (%) 9 12 15 18 21 24 27 30 This skill is a little more useful than the previous one. You will get more chance to use Overcharge since you will need to sells tokens and loots you do not need every so often. And extra money could be nice in a way. But since it is about Zenny of this game we are talking about here, you it is not something you will need to worry about. As I say it is so easy to find zenny in this game, you will end up having more zenny than you would need. Just do not die and you should be fine, since dying will take some of your Zenny away. But as for this skill, it is nice to have but it is not necessary at all. +----------------------------+ | Mammonite | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Crazy Uproar(3) Fake Zenny(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: low Using method: Slash Enemy Usefulness: S It is a fast, strong, and easy to use skill. It deals massive damage to enemy. This move is even stronger than bash and it is so fast to use that you can spam this skill. One thing about this skill that you should know is that, it use up money. At level 1, it is 200 zenny per use. At level 3 it is 150 zenny per use. For every 2 level, zenny use decrease by 50. So you will end up using 50 zenny per hit at max level. But who cares about zenny in this game. You should be able to find plenty if you are Merchant anyway. Just use it to your heart content. I admit that at the very first part of the game it is hard to just spam Mammonite like that. But when the time comes, you will find that it worth every zenny you paid for. +----------------------------+ | Crazy Uproar | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Cart Revolution(3) Magnitude(8) Skills needed: Mammonite(3) Minimum skill point to access: 3 SP use: low Using method: Touch Self Usefulness: A Rise your STR with very little amount of SP. You will gain 3 STR at level 1 and 1 more STR every level, which ends at 10 STR at max level. Since for STR base weapon, you will get ATK bonus boost every 10 STR, at max level, you are guaranteed to reach this ATK bonus. With such low SP requirements, this is a skill you should not miss. +----------------------------+ | Cart Revolution | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Crazy Uproar(3) Minimum skill point to access: 6 SP use: okay Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: A If you are comparing Mammonite with Bash, you could also compare this to Magnum Break without the FIRE element. Damage is nice and you can attack a group of monsters easily and fast. It might require quite a few SP, so for Merchant who usually has low SP, you might not have enough SP to freely use it that much. But at least, you will not need to spend Zenny on this attack. +===================================+=========================================+ | 3.5.2 second job skill (skli0152) | Skill point total: 96 +===================================+ +----------------------------+ | Weapon Production | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: D When the game says about forging, it means the forging when you went to a town Smith to refine your weapon. You will never be able to make cool stuff by yourself in this game like the PC version. This skill is just a waste of your valuable skill point. You will be able to soft reset if the forging fails and do it again endlessly. You can forge as long as you like and get only the result you want. There is no need to use this skill to be successfully forging anything. +----------------------------+ | Hilt Binding | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Weapon Research(1) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A It is a passive skill version of Crazy Uproar and the effect stacks! Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Hilt Binding(1) Minimum skill point to access: 1 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: C It can increase your DEX and HIT. I do not think it can do much. Besides the fact that DEX can increase your ATK by just a little, but that is the most useful thing you can get from this skill. You will not really need that much DEX anyway and if you have Frione card, you usually have enough HIT already. Lv 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 DEX bonus 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 HIT bonus 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 +----------------------------+ | Skin Tempering | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: B It increase defense against FIRE and VOID attacks. This is a good skill since a lot of attacks from monsters are VOID elements. If you have some unused point, this is a good place to put them. +----------------------------+ | Hammerfall | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Adrenaline Rush(3) Skills needed: Magnitude(8) Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: low Using method: Charge Location Usefulness: C I do not understand why, but it seams this skill does no damage at all. It can stun enemies, which is a nice thing. But it takes time to charge which is not any better than getting stun. It is like you stop doing any action to make enemy do nothing like you later. Also, it is not a 100% thing. So, there is a chance that you waste your time charging this skill for nothing. +----------------------------+ | Adrenaline Rush | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Overthrust(3) Full Adrenaline Rush(5) Skills needed: Hammerfall(3) Minimum skill point to access: 3 SP use: mid Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: A It helps allies with Axe or Mace to gain more ASPD in the area of effect. This is why a combination of Priest and Blacksmith is so scary in Mirage Tower. Dark Knight with Axe can have this effect, too. But since they already have Shadow Quicken, it is not that much to them. This skill is especially good with solo MT runs when you need to break Bright sphere. It is a really useful skill, indeed. The only reason I only give this [A] usefulness is because there is a better skill than this one, just by slightly, though. +----------------------------+ | Overthrust | ATK power with an axe or a mace +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Maximize Power(3) Skills needed: Adrenaline Rush(3) Minimum skill point to access: 6 SP use: mid Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: A It helps allies with Axe or Mace in the area of effect to gain more ATK. This is another reason why a combination of Priest and Blacksmith is so awesome. Of course, Dark Knight with Axe is also affected. When used with Adrenaline Rush, you will be able to get rid of monsters in no time. +----------------------------+ | Maximize Power | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Full Adrenaline Rush(5) Skills needed: Overthrust(3) Minimum skill point to access: 9 SP use: low Using method: Touch Self Usefulness: B When you use this skill, your attack will always deal a maximum damage. Normally, the damage dealt is somewhat random. But with this skill, the damage will always be the same which is the maximum you can do with an exception of Critical attack. Level only affect the time of effect. It also affect skills such as Mammonite, too. +----------------------------+ | Fake Zenny | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Mammonite(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: D Decrease the amount of Zenny used when using Mammonite. Seriously, if you advance in game enough to be able to access this skill Zenny will no longer be something you would concern anymore. Also, Mammonite at maximum level or even at level 5 which is the requirement for this skill, it will requires just a little Zenny. So there is no need to upgrade this skill. +----------------------------+ | Full Adrenaline Rush | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Enchant Blow(8) Skills needed: Maximize Power(5) Adrenaline Rush(5) Minimum skill point to access: 16 SP use: super Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: S This is what I am talking about when I say that there is a better skill than Adrenaline Rush. It is basically the very same thing as Adrenaline Rush except this time it works on every type of weapons. Even if your Blacksmith is using Sword, this will also work. Heck, it will even work on Mage with rods or Taekown with nothing equipped. It is obviously better than the previous one in every aspect. +----------------------------+ | Enchant Blow | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Weapon Research(8) Full Adrenaline Rush(8) Minimum skill point to access: 33 SP use: super Using method: Charge Direction Usefulness: C It is an axe skill. It will allow you to do a spinning blow towards target location. Although I gave this skill [B] usefulness, I do not see an actual opportunity for this skill to shine at all. There are too many other nice skills to use such as Memmonite, Car Revolution, etc. This skill requires time to charge, does slightly high damage, and it hit only once. There is also a chance to miss and when you dash over to the target enemy, you will pause for a little while. Actually, I don not think it is a good skill. +----------------------------+ | Magnitude | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Crazy Uproar(8) Hammerfall(8) Minimum skill point to access: 19 SP use: super Using method: Charge Area Usefulness: S This is what a Final Skill should be. It will cause a cave-in and many falling rock will attack enemies in an area with a chance to stun. It is a multiple attack and a multiple target skill that does super nice damage. A Blacksmith with high enough ATK can kill Owl Barons in the Mirage Tower in this one shot. This is a super broken skill. Even final boss of MT will not stand this attack for long. Have this and the game is as good as yours. +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ 3.6 Wizard class (skli0160) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Skill point total: 148 In PC version, you will have a hard time to decide how to build this class up. There were too many choices to choose from and each path will leads to a totally different style of mage. But now, you can obtain every skill when you reach JobLV 99. Many skill are removed, include the very former one such as fire ball. Skill tree is a lot easier to figure out since it is quite straight forward in DS version. However, this class is kind of weak and got nerfed a lot. It is certainly a fun class to play with. If you start a new game, you will find this class enjoyable. Just......don't try to build this class and hope that you will have an easy time in MT. That won't happen any day, I can tell you that much. Your attack will not do much and you will not be able to kill anything as fast as Knight or Blacksmith would do. +==================================+==========================================+ | 3.6.1 first job skill (skli0161) | Skill point total: 82 +==================================+ +----------------------------+ | SP Recovery UP | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: B Usually, Wizard should have high enough INT and will not suffer SP shortage problem. But just to be on the safe side, you can upgrade this just for a little, there is no need to go all out and upgrade it to level 8. Usually, I find that level 3 is already enough even with Golden thief bug card unless you are casting randomly and meaninglessly. +----------------------------+ | Sight | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Meteor Storm(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: low Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: B You might wonder why I give this skill B Usefulness even it is a skill that only reveals hidden enemies. Well, it can attack enemy. So what? We usually see it does so little damage, doesn't it? Let me tell you this, Sight damage depends on ATK, not your MATK. Since most of magician should have high INT and low STR, this skill will do crappy damage. But, if you make a STR magician, this skill will do more damage than you would think. Also, it has fast casting time. I would say it is not a completely useless skill like Hunter's detecting. B rank is given since you would normally have low ATK, but it also has potential for any STR magician. +----------------------------+ | Fire Bolt | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Fire Wall(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Charge Location Usefulness: B It hits enemy with FIRE element bolt. Number of bolt that fall down depends on the level of this skill. Lv 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 No. of hit 2 2 3 3 4 4 5 5 It might be the very first skill for this element branch of attack, but never underestimate it. For a starting skill, it does rather high damage even when compare with higher class of spell. The only drawback of this skill is that charge time is quite a problem. If you have a tanker or you are using a Safety Wall, I think it is a good attack spell to use +----------------------------+ | Cold Bolt | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Frost Driver(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Charge Location Usefulness: B It hits enemy with ICE element bolt. Number of bolt that fall down depends on the level of this skill which has the same pattern as Fire Bolt. I have the same comment for this skill that you should never underestimate it. For a starting skill, it does rather high damage even when compare with higher class of spell. The only drawback of this skill is also charge time. But I say that damage it can deal is not to bad. +----------------------------+ | Lightning Bolt | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Thunder Storm(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Charge Location Usefulness: B It hits enemy with a WIND element bolt. It can do 1 more hit than Cold Bolt and Fire Bolt. It usually is faster that the two skills, too. But it still shares the same potential. It is a nice damaging skill, while is slow to be cast. I personally think it is still not a skill to be over looked, though. +----------------------------+ | Fire Wall | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Soul Strike(1) Fire Pillar(3) Skills needed: Fire Bolt(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: high Using method: Line on Ground Usefulness: A It will do less damage than fire bolt. But at least, it is a lot faster to use. Unlike in PC version, this skill won't stop enemy. Instead, it will launch 3 fire attacks at the start, middle, and end of your line. It is a quick draw skill that you can use against any enemy anytime. Since this skill is a Line on Ground skill, you don't have to draw a straight line. Just don't draw too long of a line which might cause fire wall to have holes. +----------------------------+ | Frost Driver | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Soul Strike(1) Ice Wall(3) Skills needed: Cold Bolt(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: high Using method: Charge/Release Usefulness: C Low damage, slow charge time, hard to aim. What can I say more about this skill? Oh yea, it can Freeze enemies....well, if it is not a fire property enemy. And its freezing rate is not that high, too. Seriously, I don't see any point to use this skill over Cold Bolt or Ice Wall. +----------------------------+ | Thunder Storm | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Soul Strike(1) Jupiter Thunder(3) Meteor Storm(5) Skills needed: Lightning Bolt(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: high Using method: Tap Area Usefulness: B It might looks like a skill that allow you to cast Lightning Bolt 3 times without charge time. Well, yes it is in a meaning. But, you will never find this skill with the same damage level with the actual Lightning Bolt. You will be able to cast 2 lighting at first and up to 3 at level 5 or better. It is nice to be able to cast fast spell with wide range. Damage is a little low, though. +----------------------------+ | Soul Strike | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Safety Wall(5) Skills needed: Fire Wall(1) Frost Driver(1) Thunder Storm(1) Minimum skill point to access: 18 SP use: okay Using method: Charge Direction Usefulness: B While comparing to other Charge class skill, this skill have a lot faster charge time. Still, since it is a Charge class skill, it is still not as fast as it was in PC version. While it can hit enemy at only an okay speed, its damage out put is still not that impressive. It is not too bad to use this skill, but by the time you have this skill, you will already have Fire Bolt and Cold Bolt. Even though they have longer charge time, I still think that the greater in damage will still win over such little speed difference. Lv 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 No. of Hit 1 1 2 2 3 3 4 4 +----------------------------+ | Safety Wall | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Energy Coat(8) Skills needed: Soul Strike(5) Minimum skill point to access: 23 SP use: mid Using method: Touch Location Usefulness: A Here comes skill that strengthens your defense. This skill will make a panel that will nullify any physical attack. This can make you stay alive longer since usually Wizard is a frail class and tend to die quicker than other classes. Since normally your attack method is casting spell, you should be okay even if you are staying in one place. +----------------------------+ | Energy Coat | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Safety Wall(8) Minimum skill point to access: 31 SP use: mid Using method: Touch Self Usefulness: B It is not that this skill is not useful, but it is like double edge sword. When ever you got attack while this skill is activating, SP is drained. SP will be lost for every single hit you receive. It might be uncommon to be running out of SP if you have high INT, but imagine your enemies sonic blow you. Ouch! You will still takes some damage even with this skill on. Also, since you already have Safety Wall, even though Safety Wall won't move with you, I still think it is better than Energy Coat. +===================================+=========================================+ | 3.6.2 second job skill (skli0162) | Skill point total: 66 +===================================+ +----------------------------+ | Monster Property | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 1 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: low Using method: Touch Enemy Usefulness: D Rather than find out how many HP it got left and its name on a little bar that is almost unnoticeable, I would rather use that time to smack it to death. This skill is quite useless. It won't tell you anything except its name, remaining HP and Attribute that is Sun, Lunar, and Star. You will be able to see it only if you select it or, in other word, choose to attack it. You will be able to see this little information in a small description bar at the bottom of the screen. It won't tell you the enemy weakness, item it can drop, property, and enemy size. I find it rather stupid that it won't tell even enemy's element which will be useful to Wizard. Instead, it tells information that only could be use with Taekwon class. +----------------------------+ | Fire Pillar | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Fire Wall(3) Minimum skill point to access: 8 SP use: super Using method: Charge Location Usefulness: B I would rather call it "a much slower version of only one part of Fire Wall." It takes time to charge. It does so-so damage. It is only a pillar of fire attack while you got 3 with Fire Wall. You will get Fire Wall before you get this and you won't need this for any other skill. I would say don't get this skill unless you don't have anything else in your mind. It still has quite fast charge and the pillar seems to be there for quite a long while and you will be able to use other skill during that time, so I wouldn't say it is that useless. But by that time, you will have an access to a lot of much better skills already. +----------------------------+ | Earth Spike | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Heaven's Drive(3) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Charge/Release Usefulness: C Finally, your first EARTH element attack spell which is, sadly, not that useful. It attacks enemy in a way much like Frost Driver. It takes time to charge and it attacks only one time with pitiful damage. +----------------------------+ | Ice Wall | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Storm Gust(8) Skills needed: Frost Driver(3) Minimum skill point to access: 8 SP use: okay Using method: Line on Ground Usefulness: A In PC version, this skill is used for preventing enemy to come near you or make an impassable wall. But in DS version, it is an attack spell, much like this version of fire wall. The only different is that it does only a huge damage rather than doing multiple of little damage attack. It can also cause Freeze, but it rarely happens. Personally, I use this skill a lot like how I use Spirit of Earth as Shaman. It is not a killer move that does a lot of damage, but it can quickly kill small enemies and you can spam this easily since it requires a little SP. +----------------------------+ | Heaven's Drive | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: Quagmire(5) Skills needed: Earth Spike(3) Minimum skill point to access: 3 SP use: mid Using method: Charge Area Usefulness: B At max level, it has long charge time, huge area of effect, and quite good damage. This skill is good to use against monsters which come in group. Well, not as good as Lord of Vermillion, but at least, it works nice enough and it cost a lot less SP to use. +----------------------------+ | Jupiter Thunder | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Lord of Vermillion(8) Skills needed: Thunder Storm(3) Minimum skill point to access: 8 SP use: mid Using method: Charge Direction Usefulness: B If you played PC version, you would be disappointed. Frost Driver -> Jupitel Thunder used to be a killer move that kills everything easily. In DS version, it still works nice against frozen enemies or water element monster, but that insane damage of PC version is gone. It takes time to charge. Damage output is good, but not as good as it should be. It won't knock enemy back and it hit only once. Its damage is about as same as Ice Wall but the time you use to charge Jupiter Thunder, you could easily use it to cast around 3 or more Ice Wall. It is still not that bad of a skill, though. +----------------------------+ | Quagmire | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Heaven's Drive(5) Minimum skill point to access: 8 SP use: okay Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: D It decreases AGI/DEX/moving speed of an enemy in an area. So what? The area of effect is small no matter what level it is. You won't be able to use any other skill while this skill is active. Which means you can't attack! I would say I rather have a full strength enemy that got hit by my magic than have a little weaker enemy hit me. Even it is a Circle on Ground type of skill, it still have a casting delay. So, it is possible that it would miss your target. Small, not damaging, prevent you from attack. That's what I have to say about this skill. Avoid it at all cost. +----------------------------+ | Meteor Storm | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Doomsday(8) Skills needed: Sight(5) Thunder Storm(5) Minimum skill point to access: 15 SP use: high Using method: Tap Area Usefulness: A A comet will fall from sky and attack your enemies. You will be able to tap 3 times no matter what level it is. But the number of hit of each meteor is different by level. Lv 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Hits per ball 2 2 2 2 3 3 3 3 Although skills which are needed to access this skill are not FIRE element, it is actually FIRE property attack. It may also cause stun to enemy. +----------------------------+ | Lord of Vermillion | may blind +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Doomsday(8) Skills needed: Lord of Vermillion(8) Minimum skill point to access: 16 SP use: super Using method: Charge Area Usefulness: A It is a WIND element attack that will wreck havoc out of anything in the area of effect. Charge icon might seem small, but the real area of effect is as much as almost entire screen. It also cause blind to enemies which is not a big deal here. It is good for its multiple hits with high damage. If you ever play PC version of this game, you will still feel the same way about this great spell. +----------------------------+ | Storm Gust | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Doomsday(8) Skills needed: Ice Wall(8) Minimum skill point to access: 16 SP use: super Using method: Charge Area Usefulness: A It will cause a ice storm in the area of effect. Of course, this is WATER element attack. It has higher attack rate than Lord of Vermillion. Only problem is that it can Freeze enemies. Why Freezing is a problem, you ask? Well, when enemies got frozen, it is considered water element enemies. Thus, water element attack can't damage it. So, you will need to hope that your enemies are not frozen. +----------------------------+ | Doomsday | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Meteor Storm(8) Lord of Vermillion(8) Storm Gust(8) Minimum skill point to access: 68 SP use: super Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: A This skill is a pain to get since it requires that you max out the best spell for each element. But I think once you get this, you will not be disappointed. It does 6 non-elemental hits on enemies in the area. Moreover, the best thing about it is that this skill is super fast to cast. It has no element (VOID) so it will work on any kind of enemies. +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ 3.7 Taekwon master class (skli0170) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Skill point total: 144 To tell you the truth, I never play ROPC to the point that they introduced this class. So, basically I cannot compare Taekwon class from DS version and PC version. Also, since I had no experience using this class before DS version, my point of view on this class would be somewhat strange. But, please do not mind that. One thing about Solar, Lunar, Stellar skills, in DS version it is working differently from PC version. From what I have read, they have nothing in common at all. So, if you were playing Taekwon class in PV version, please pay attention to these skill types since you might be confused by how different they are. In fact, when I get used to using this class, I think it can perform pretty well. Rather, if you use it correctly, it can be a walking killing machine in a way. There are a lot of weird skills for this class and a lot of them are confusing. Lucky enough, it does not playing too much role and you might not have to worry about it much. But once you mastered how to use this class, you will find it is quite an interesting class. +==================================+==========================================+ | 3.7.1 first job skill (skli0171) | Skill point total: 68 +==================================+ +----------------------------+ | Running | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: mid Using method: Max Charge Usefulness: B If you are not equipping anything, charge it and you will be able to gain more attack power. It stays for quite a while which is a good thing and it is not that hard to use. The reason that I do not give it much credit is the fact that you will have to not equipping anything. Thus, you will loose chance to use any card and you will not gain any addition attack you may get by equipping. I think this is not so good since you will loose your chance to use Frione card, Hornet card, Skeleton worker card, etc. But, as a first job, you cannot equip anything anyway, so it is not so bad for beginner. +----------------------------+ | Whirlwind Kick | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Phoenix Wing(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Charge Direction Usefulness: C You will do a spin kick that attack into a target direction. It might use up sometime to charge and when you release it, you will be right next to enemy (assume that you aim at an enemy, duh.) In my opinion, it is not better than just running up to enemy and directly hit enemy later. Damage is okay, but nothing special. I would rather use Axe kick or Round kick instead. +----------------------------+ | Axe Kick | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Phoenix Wing(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Slash Enemy Usefulness: A When using this, you will make a kick that chop down on top of enemy (it should be like that,) and making it stun. This is another Bash-like skill for Taekwon class. Of course, this type of skill is usually good. It can deal okay damage and it is easy enough to spam this skill. +----------------------------+ | Round Kick | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Phoenix Wing(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: A When using this, you will do a swing kick that will attack many enemies at the same time. Think of is as Cart Revolution. It does okay damage and, above all, it is a fast multi-target attack. It is a really nice skill to use. +----------------------------+ | Counter Kick | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Phoenix Wing(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Slash Enemy Usefulness: A You will do a slide kick to a target when using this skill. I really have no idea what is different from this and Axe Kick besides the fact that it cannot stun. I see that this skill can do slightly more damage, but that could be just my imagination since the difference is not significant. It is still not too bad of a skill to use. +----------------------------+ | Flying Side Kick | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Phoenix Wing(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: okay Using method: Charge/Release Usefulness: B When using this skill, you will be jump kicking towards the target direction. This class is more useful to just stand there and kick enemy face to face. This skill takes time to charge and it is best used when you are away from the target. So, this is not quite an ideal skill for Taekwon. I find it easier to just walk towards enemies and Axe Kick them to death. +----------------------------+ | Peaceful Rest | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Warm Wind(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: low Using method: Max Charge Usefulness: B It recovers your HP. To tell you the truth, it is not as nice as its sound. It can heal just a little HP and I think that Knight's HP recovery UP can do better since you do not have to charge by yourself. For solo MT run, you can use this skill in an empty room, where you already cleared the area out. But, do not think about using this while combating. +----------------------------+ | Enjoyable Rest | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Warm Wind(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: none Using method: Max Charge Usefulness: B It recovers your SP. It requires no SP to be used, but it also heals your SP by only a little amount. It heals so little that I think it is not even worth your time. Still, if you are isolate or in an empty room in MT, it is not too bad to recover once in a while. But, do not think about using this while combating. +----------------------------+ | Warm Wind | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Spirit Bomb(4) Skills needed: Peaceful Rest(5) Enjoyable Rest(5) Minimum skill point to access: 10 SP use: high Using method: Charge/Select Usefulness: C It can change your attack into FIRE, WATER, WIND, or EARTH element. Actually, I do not think that this skill is that useful since these elements does not play a big part in fighting strategy and I do not think we should go as far as memorize every enemies elemental weakness. Those reasons are just some little part, though. The real reasons why this skill sucks is that there is no way to tell what element we are currently using or check if it is still in effect or not. It is true that we can assume that if you tab red, yellow, green, or blue panel, you will gain FIRE, EARTH, WIND, or WATER element in your attack. But there is a chance that we touch the wrong one without realize that fact and there will be no way to check. Just ignore this skill, really. +===================================+=========================================+ | 3.7.2 second job skill (skli0172) | Skill point total: 76 +===================================+ *Note: Every monster has its own type. It can either be Solar, Lunar, or Stellar type monster. You can check by using wizard's skill [Sense]. BTW, Detardeurus (MT50 boss) is a Lunar type monster. Also, in game, when it says about [even number day], [odd number day], and [day that can divided by 3] which refers to Solar, Lunar, and Stellar in that order, it actually means like this: Day Solar Lunar Stellar 1 X O X 2 O X X 3 X X O 4 O X X 5 X O X 6 X X O 7 X O X 8 O X X 9 X X O 10 O X X 11 X O X 12 X X O 13 X O X 14 O X X 15 X X O 16 O X X 17 X O X 18 X X O 19 X O X 20 O X X 21 X X O 22 O X X 23 X O X 24 X X O 25 X O X 26 O X X 27 X X O 28 O X X 29 X O X 30 X X O 31 X O X As you can see, Lunar got 1 more day than the other type. Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Whirlwind Kick(5) Axe Kick(5) Round Kick(5) Counter Kick(5) Minimum skill point to access: 20 SP use: super Using method: Tap Target Usefulness: S Finally, here comes a skill worth mentioning as a second job skill. When you are using this skill, you will be doing multiple kicks on a target enemy. Sometimes, it also hurts nearby enemies as well. You can think of this as a kicking Sonic Blow. This will be a skill that you will be depending on when you are doing solo Mirage Tower run. +----------------------------+ | Spirit Bomb | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Warm Wind(4) Solar Protection(5) Lunar Protection(5) Stellar Protection(5) Minimum skill point to access: 35 SP use: super Using method: Charge/Release Usefulness: B When you are using this skill, you will be shooting a spirit ball at released direction. I would say this is not too bad if it do not take too much time to charge. Damage is okay and it is not too hard to aim this. But, I think it is better to just use Phoenix Wing since it is easier to access that skill. Also to get Spirit Bomb, you will have to upgrade +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ 3.8 Dark Knight (skli0180) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Skill point total: 117 This class is pretty interesting. It is a Jack of all trade in physical attack area. You will be able to use 1-handed swords, 2-handed swords and axes with this class. This means, you will be able to use lots of the strong weapons in this game. It also has lots of attack skill types to play with and interesting buff skills. It is easy to reach 999 ATK and 200 ASPD with Dark Knight, too. And with high Critical rate, 200 ASPD is really something. In solo Mirage Tower runs, Dark Knight can do pretty well. In fact, this is the first class that I use to complete solo MT challenge (well, since at that time, I still didn't know about Knight and Blacksmith broken potential...) But seriously, what's up with its design!?! I see art work for this class which is not too bad, but the sprite is too funny. Its coolness of something supposes to be a "dark evil warrior" had been reduced into some weird looking dude. At least a girl design is not that bad, though. But do not misjudge this class by its looks, since it can be one of the most reliable classes you need to cut your enemies down! +============================+================================================+ | 3.8.1 job skill (skli0181) | Skill point total: 117 +============================+ +----------------------------+ | Sword Mastery | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: 2-Hand Sword Mastery(1) Axe Mastery(3) Critical Rate UP(5) Death Blade(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A This skill increase damage when using one handed sword. It is rather useful since your damage output will be automatically upgrade. Is there any reason not to upgrade this? Well, unless you are not planning to use one handed sword, get this skill. +----------------------------+ | 2-Hand Sword Mastery | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Axe Mastery(3) Critical Rate UP(5) Auto Counter(8) Death Blade(5) Skills needed: Sword Mastery(1) Minimum skill point to access: 1 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A This skill increase damage when using two handed sword. You might got confuse with picture with two swords. It still means "one two handed sword." Don't try or worry about equip two weapons with this job. It won't work. +----------------------------+ | Axe Mastery | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Critical Rate UP(5) Hell Impact(5) Skills needed: Sword Mastery(3) 2-Hand Sword Mastery(3) Minimum skill point to access: 6 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A No!!!!! I can't just copy-paste description from Knight Section anymore OTL... Anyway, this skill will increase damage you can do when using Axe. Personally, I like to use Axe with this class. The only thing that I regret about not using sword is that I will not be able to use Death Blade, But I still think be able to run fast with Bloody Axe is nicer. It is up to you, though +----------------------------+ | Critical Rate UP | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Dark Breath(5) Skills needed: Sword Mastery(5) 2-Hand Sword Mastery(5) Axe Mastery(5) Minimum skill point to access: 15 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: A It will give you 1 bonus CRI for every level. Someone use to say that this class is more Assassin like that the Assassin. This is one of the reasons why they said that. Assassin has no skill that improve Critical rate while this class has one. Too bad you cannot use Katar with Dark Knight or it would be so broken. With Shadow Quicken also available, you will be Critical killing machine. +----------------------------+ | Auto Counter | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: 2-Hand Sword Mastery(8) Minimum skill point to access: 9 SP use: low Using method: Touch Self Usefulness: D Wait for enemy to attack you, and then you can counter with critical hit. +----------------------------+ | Dark Breath | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Shadow Quicken(3) Skills needed: Critical Rate UP(5) Minimum skill point to access: 20 SP use: okay Using method: Touch Self Usefulness: A It will boost your STR by a HUGE amount with a little HP consumption. Look at this table. Lv 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Time of effect 30 60 90 120 150 180 210 240 HP drained (sec) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 STR gained 15 20 25 30 35 40 45 50 I found that at 99 initial STR, 2 Megingards, and some DEX and LUK, You will not even need to max this skill to reach 999 ATK. That is how useful this skill is. A little draw back is that it drains your HP, which is not that much. I recommend you to cast this regularly and you will be a walking killing machine. +----------------------------+ | Shadow Quicken | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Dark Breath(3) Minimum skill point to access: 23 SP use: okay Using method: Touch Self Usefulness: A It will boost your ASPD by a really HUGE amount with a little HP consumption. Look at this table. Lv 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Time of effect 30 60 90 120 150 180 210 240 HP drained (sec) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 ASPD gained (%) 4 8 12 16 20 24 28 32 With this skill, 200 ASPD is a very easy task. Since you will gain 32% at max level, this means that if you have 152 ASPD, it will become 200 when you use this skill. Unlike 2-hand quicken and the likes, you will actually see the difference easily. HP got drained? Just use Bloody Crash. Seriously, it can have more of my HP if it does this good of a job. +----------------------------+ | Dark Weapon | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Hell Impact(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: mid Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: C It gives your weapon a BLIND element. Bad choice, really. Lots of monsters are strong against this element. And do not think that it will cause Blind status effect to enemies. That will not happen. May be you can use this to deal more damage on Poring? +----------------------------+ | Bloody Crash | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Guillotine(3) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: mid Using method: Slash Enemy Usefulness: A Attack enemy and drain around 40% HP from damage to heal you. This is best use with Dark Breath and Shadow Quicken. Since both suck away your HP but strengthen your attack, this skill will also be stronger and drain you more HP. But, do not depend on this skill to heal you instead of potion. It is not that reliable since sometime when you face with tough enemy, your damage decrease and thus your HP gained also decrease +----------------------------+ | Guillotine | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Genocide(5) Hell Impact(5) Skills needed: Bloody Crash(3) Minimum skill point to access: 3 SP use: mid Using method: Slash Enemy Usefulness: A Axe skill. You will attack enemy and will have a chance to stun it. It is almost like Bash with Fatal Weapon but only with Axe. It is nice and easy-to- use skill. I do not see why not. +----------------------------+ | Genocide | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Chaos(5) Skills needed: Guillotine(5) Minimum skill point to access: 8 SP use: high Using method: Circle on Ground Usefulness: A It can blind and deals damage on enemies in an area. It is fast to cast and have a nice area of effect. Damage is also not too bad. The only problem is that it requires some SP. Think of this as Magnum Break without FIRE element. +----------------------------+ | Chaos | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Blind Wave(5) Skills needed: Genocide(5) Minimum skill point to access: 13 SP use: high Using method: Charge Location Usefulness: C It is an attack with a chance to confuse. Actually, this might not be as bad as I said, but compare to the other skills, it is not too great either. Even though it said Charge Location on using method, it covers quite wide area. It can only deal damage to enemy one time, though. I still do not see why someone would choose this over Genocide. +----------------------------+ | Blind Wave | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Death Blade(5) Skills needed: Chaose(5) Minimum skill point to access: 18 SP use: high Using method: Charge Direction Usefulness: B You have to equip Sword to be able to use this skill. It shoots a blade wave out of a sword into a direction. It is not too great since it requires some time too charge. It does nice damage, though. I would normally not use this skill, but it is up to you. You might be able to find a use from this skill since I think it still have some potential. But for me, I would say no. +----------------------------+ | Death Blade | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Sword Mastery(5) 2-Hand Sword Mastery(5) Blind Wave(5) Minimum skill point to access: 33 SP use: high Using method: Tap Area Usefulness: A This skill is for Sword user. You will be able to shoot 3 dark blades from the depth of hell to attack enemies. It is actually really good and it can attack fast. Nice damage from this skill makes it even better. Some people prefer this skill for solo MT run. Just watch your SP and you should do fine, I guess. +----------------------------+ | Hell Impact | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Axe Mastery(5) Dark Weapon(5) Guillotine(5) Minimum skill point to access: 24 SP use: super Using method: Charge Area Usefulness: B This skill is for Axe user. It can deals massive damage in an area. It really deals huge damage, but just for only once. For its charge time and area of effect, this skill might be a let down for a final skill. But it is definitely not a useless skill. If you plan your use properly, it might be a useful skill. +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ 3.9 Shaman (skli0190) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Skill point total: 117 A jack of many (not all) trades, master of absolutely none. It can somehow support. It can attack with magic. But Shaman will hardly be able to survive in MT alone. In the matter of fact, I think Shaman might be the worst class of choice to do solo MT with. Don't get me wrong, I still think this class is kind of fun to play with, and it is a very good AI team member. I usually find Sierra more reliable than Rolek for some reason. Well, when she is not doing her raining dance that is... Despites all that bad points, Shaman can be a nice healer and also an okay attacker. Shaman still lack when it comes to Physical attack, but who cares. Also, character design is cool >.< Male Shaman looks kinnda...girlish, though. Anyway! If you are just playing for fun and do not care about solo MT run, then this class is no a bad choice. +============================+================================================+ | 3.9.1 job skill (skli0191) | Skill point total: 117 +============================+ +----------------------------+ | Auto Heal | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Rain Dance(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: Passive Using method: Passive Usefulness: B I don't know why they decided to make a different name for this skill when it is exactly the same with SP Recovery UP for Priest and Wizard. But anyway, it increases your SP regeneration rate which is a nice thing for spell user type of class. Just that, you don't really need that much SP recovery in the end. I suggest you only upgrade it until you can get Rain Dance and you will have more than enough. +----------------------------+ | Spiritual Comfort | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Spiritual Blessing(3) Spiritual Prayer(5) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: mid Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: A This is a Heal skill for Shaman. It can heal less than "Heal" of Priest. But, you can still heal a thousand HP easily anyway and that should be good enough in most case. Since it is useful enough to be able to support anyone in most situations, it should be among the skill you would want to upgrade earlier. +----------------------------+ | Spiritual Blessing | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Spiritual Protection(3) Spiritual Prayer(5) Skills needed: Spiritual Comfort(3) Minimum skill point to access: 3 SP use: low Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: A This skill really is what made Shaman different from every class. If you play PC version, you will know about how people are getting marry just for SP healing skill. Well, folks, you have got it here. This skill refills your ally SP by large amount. This will be a lot useful with party member who have less SP like Knight or Blacksmith. But, when it comes to solo play, you will have plenty of SP from Auto Heal already. But it is never hurt to be on the safe side, right? Unlike Spiritual Comfort, its action animation takes more time to cast, so you will not be able to just spam this skill. +----------------------------+ | Spiritual Protection | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Spiritual Wrath(5) Skills needed: Spiritual Blessing(3) Minimum skill point to access: 6 SP use: mid Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: B It increases your ally DEF and MDEF. It seems that as you level up, buff will just stay longer from 35 seconds at level 1 and increase 5 seconds for each level. I am no fan of increasing Defense and anything like that. So, it is not that much of a deal for me. It is still an okay skill to use, though. +----------------------------+ | Spiritual Prayer | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 5 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Auto Heal(5) Spiritual Blessing(5) Minimum skill point to access: 13 SP use: mid Using method: Touch Ally Usefulness: B It is almost the same with Resurrection. Consider you will have to use up 11 skills point to just access this skill. I think it is better to use you skill points with another skills especially you will not be able to get every skills in the end. You will start at 35 seconds at level 1 and increase 5 seconds for each level. +----------------------------+ | Mistletoe | +----------------------------+

It sucks in most case. Usually, lots of strong monsters is tough against SPIRIT element. So, basically, you are making strong enemy even stronger with this skill. At level 1, it will stay in effect for 30 seconds and increase 10 seconds for each level. +----------------------------+ | Rain Dance | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Southeast Wind(3) Spirit of Water(3) Skills needed: Auto Heal(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: mid Using method: Touch Self Usefulness: C It helps you to increase damage you can do with WATER element attack. Because of that, the only skill that will work with this is Spirit of Water, which is a nice skill. However, when it comes to actual use, it is not that great. It is not that good since I do not really see the difference before and after using this skill even at max level. The reason might be that it is necessary to have this skill at level 3 to be able to have Spirit of Water. So, a little difference in level will not affect damage outcome much. +----------------------------+ | Southeast Wind | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Spirit of Wind(3) Skills needed: Rain Dance(3) Minimum skill point to access: 8 SP use: mid Using method: Touch Self Usefulness: C It helps you to increase damage you can do with WIND element attack. Because of that, the only skill that will work with this is Spirit of Wind, which is a not that great of a skill. Moreover, when it comes to actual use, it is also not that great since I do not really see the difference before and after using this skill even at max level. The reason might be that it is necessary to have this skill at level 3 to be able to have Spirit of Wind. +----------------------------+ | Summon | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Spirit of Fire(5) Spirit of Earth(5) Spirit of Water(3) Spirit of Wind(3) Skills needed: - Minimum skill point to access: 0 SP use: low Using method: Touch Enemy Usefulness: B Attack a target enemy with a SPIRIT element spell. It is the beginning of Shaman's attack skill. It is fast to cast, but also has quite slow animation and recharge time. It takes sometime to actually hit enemy which during that time you might get hit by enemies. It is not that bad if you are using it carefully. The thing is usual damage output is not that good. It is due to the fact that this attack is SPIRIT element spell and not many enemies are weak against it +----------------------------+ | Spirit of Fire | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Divine Judgment(5) Skills needed: Summon(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: high Using method: Charge Direction Usefulness: C Shoot a FIRE ball in one direction and hit an enemy it first touched with a chance to confuse. It will do okay damage even for a single attack, but it takes time to charge. Usually, if you want to use this without getting hit, you will have to runaway quite far and charge from far away. FIRE element seldom works, but considers how it works this skill still does not cut to be one of your base attack. +----------------------------+ | Spirit of Earth | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Divine Judgment(5) Skills needed: Summon(5) Minimum skill point to access: 5 SP use: high Using method: Line on Ground Usefulness: A Launch 3 pillars of EARTH wave energy with a chance to petrify any enemies which touch the pillar. It is ridiculously fast. It is ridiculously strong. It can inflict a useful status effect. This skill here will be your main arsenal that you can spam easily. The only bad part about this is actually that useful petrify status effect will makes enemies turn into EARTH monster. You will do zero damage to EARTH monster with this attack so to attack enemies which were petrified with it is quite useless. You will just have to hit it with something else. It is still a great skill, though. +----------------------------+ | Spirit of Water | +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Divine Judgment(5) Skills needed: Summon(3) Rain Dance(3) Minimum skill point to access: 11 SP use: high Using method: Charge Area Usefulness: A Make a circle area filled with WATER wave which attack multiple times with a chance to mute enemies. It is like a mini Storm Gust since it is a little smaller and damage is smaller. But, it also has a little faster charge time, too. So, it is not that bad. Mute, or Silence which ever you choose to call it, is not a big deal here. This skill is good for its use for attacking. +----------------------------+ | Spirit of Wind | sleep enemies +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: Divine Judgment(5) Skills needed: Summon(3) Southeast Wind(3) Minimum skill point to access: 14 SP use: high Using method: Charge/Release Usefulness: C Shoot a WIND ball in one direction and hit an enemy it first touched with a chance to sleep. That is right, it is almost the same as Spirit of Fire except this time it is WIND element and sleep instead of confuse. Except for the slightly more useful negative status effect, nothing is really different here. It requires more of other skill than Spirit of Fire and this is only what they can offer. It is kind of a let down... +----------------------------+ | Divine Judgment | *Final Skill +----------------------------+
Maximum level: 8 Needed for skills: - Skills needed: Spirit of Fire(5) Spirit of Earth(5) Spirit of Water(5) Spirit of Wind(5) Minimum skill point to access: 39 SP use: super Using method: Tap Area Usefulness: B This is truly a let down compare to Spirit of Wind. What it does is allow you to tap up to 3 times on screen where SPIRIT balls will fall to attack enemies multiple times. Sounds great, right? Since it is a Tap Area skill, it should be easy enough to spam this skill, right? Well, yea it does. But is this pitiful damage is about!?! Even though it is fast to cast, delay time is too great that you will not be able to cast another spell soon. Each ball will hit around 5 times, with around 100-200 damage per hit even at 999 MATK. Pitiful, I tell you. Even Wizard's Thunder Storm can do better than this. You definitely cannot depend on this skill to do solo MT. Spirit of Earth, on the other hand, can deal more damage than this. This skill is not worthy enough to be called a final skill. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= iEEEGEGDf GG LLffjjjjftff ,ji E DfGttjjjjfDG EjE itt. Q&A (quan) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Q: What is rank? A: Rank shows how much you have used that skill. If you used that skill lots of time, rank will be increased to the maximum of S rank. Higher the rank, lower SP cost for that skill. Passive skill is not included, obviously. At rank S, it will reduce SP cost in half. You will be able to upgrade by one rank after every 50 uses except rank S which requires 100 uses. ---------- From Ultima Pi: Rank D reduces it by 0%, C 10%, B 20%, A 30%, and S 50% From Rank D to C is 50 uses, C to B is another 50, B to A is yet another 50, and A to S is 100. Also, rebirthing resets all ranks to D. ---------- Q: Is it possible to manually set skills for other party member? A: No. The closest to that is that you make your own character and dupe it into your party with Mirage Tower character duplication technique. Q: How can I dupe Character from MT, then? A: This technique will dupe your character that you use in MT. It will copy appearance, skill, level, and even equipments. Traits are random, however. 1. Make sure your party is full (such as 16/16) 2. Go to Mirage tower. 3. Challenge in single player mode. 4. Go to menu. Do not choose preparation complete. 5. Leave Menu screen with back icon on the lower right. 6. Leave Preparation screen completely. Do not choose preparation complete. 7. Leave MT, go back to Guild headquarter. 8. Kick a party member. You will notice that your member number is the same. Check the last member. It will be the character from MT. This info is thanks to a Gamefaqs Board topic created by noreplywtf. Q: I tried to duplicate skill point as said in cheat section. It didn't work! A: Japanese version only. Nothing you can do about that. Q: Hair style 23? A: Yea, I also want to know... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= iEEEGEGDf GG LLffjjjjftff ,ji E DfGttjjjjfDG EjE itt. Tips (tips) +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Fun fact! - The Maximum skill point while you are Novice is 10 (have 1 skill point at Job level 1) - When change to 1st Job, your Skill point will be reset to 1 along with job level, and Skills from Novice are gone. - Maximum skill point you can earn while you are in 1st job is 50. - When change to 2nd Job, your current Skill stays and your unused skill point will still be there. This is kind of useful if 2nd Job skill is a lot better or needed. For example, you don't need to put point into Sward mastery and save them for Spear mastery in the 2nd Job for Poke Knight. - Maximum skill point you can earn in 2nd job is 99. - Your cloned character is really your clone. It will copy anything. It also means that if you did limit break, your copied character will also have Maximum Job level increase! Which means for 5 times or more limit break the copied character will also have the maximum Job level at 99 no matter when you copied it? No need to train your character until it reaches 99/99 just for character dupe, yay! - Useful link: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/941910-ragnarok-ds/53654500 - It is easier to tap avatar of you teammates when you want to use skill on them. In fact, if your teammate die and you left that area, the only way to use resurrection is to tap its avatar. +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ Credits +=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=+ - Me: Well, I made this.
