INTRODUCTION: 2as1 Marriage

We recognize that marriage is not just two coming together as man & wife to make a home and have children, but is
a mandate from God found in the Seed Book of Genesis.
We realize there is a command that God gave MAN (Male & Female) a command after He blessed them in Gen 1:28
to:
1. Be fruitful, and multiply
2. Replenish the earth
3. Subdue it
4. Have dominion
This command cannot be fulfilled by male or female alone, they have to be one and therefore from as far as Gen 3:1,
the enemy has always tried to attack male & female with the aim of keeping them as separate entities so as not to
fulfill that mandate.
2as1Couples will be dealing primarily with Marriage issues and It is important to note that in the fifty chapters of the

Book in the bible, marriage first appears in the first chapter and therefore in the order of first things, that gives
marriage primacy.

It is important to note that MOST marriages as we know them today did not have their foundation on the Word of
God (even though most of them were performed in a church building!!) but their foundation was Tradition, Culture,
Religious, Convenience etc. Therefore, in this season of the reformation of the church, the plumb-line is Christ and
there's a demand on each couple to re-exam, analyze and re-adjust their marriage according to the ultimate truth
i.e. The Word of God.
2as1Couples meetings is a platform that will be trying to address the (God-kind-of-marriage) using the Word of God
as our plumb line.
Eph 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the
two shall become one flesh. 32 This mystery is great: but I speak in regard of Christ and of the church.
Please note how God's intention was for marriage to be a physical manifestation of how the Church & Christ's
relationship should be.

Let us define the two kinds of marriages in the earth today :
Marriage A This is the God-kind-of-marriage

Marriage B Marriage after the fall of man

This is mans idea of marriage after he fell from his position of calling.

Types of Marriage B
a. Cultural (i.e. eastern, western, african etc)
b. Traditional (i.e. tribal, ethnic, clan etc)
c. Civil (i.e. purely legal)
d. Convenience (i.e. circumstantial - come-we-stay)
e. Religious (i.e. muslim, christian, hindu, Buddhist, Atheist etc)
f. Biblical - This is the kind of marriage that we will be focusing on in this meetings.
Marriage B cannot fulfill Gods will on the earth. The man & wife have no ability to love or submit as per
the word.
