The Evolution E-Plus Tubing Rotator was developed as
part of a system primarily designed to extend the life of
production tubing and pump rod in beam pumping and PC
pumping wells.
Using a Tubing Rotator can extend the life of down-hole
tubing and pump rod by up to ten times in certain
circumstances; by equalizing the tubing wear around the
entire ID of the tubing instead of wearing through in a single
spot.
Advantages

Very low maintenance required
Simple installation and removal
Can be adapted to range of API wellheads
Adds only 4.5" (82.6 mm) to well-
head height
No wellhead modifications required
No custom built tubing hangers are required
Shear mechanism prevents over-torquing of
the tubing string
Utilizes existing wellhead components with
rotating hangers
Works in temperatures up to 399F (204C)
Abnormal pump wear reduced
Sand build-up in pump barrel greatly reduced
Enhances corrosion inhibitors
Prolongs tubing life 6-10 times
Allows maintenance of well control while
stripping B.O.P.s
Paraffin build-up eliminated in most cases
Rod hang-up eliminated in most cases

Drive Options

Evolution Oil Tools E-Plus Tubing Rotators are available with three (3) drive options:
Manual Drive
The Manual Drive System allows the operator to rotate the tubing string on a periodic basis (typically daily or
weekly). This system is typically used with progressive cavity pumps.
Mechanical Drive
The Mechanical Drive System is used with pump jacks. This system can be set up to allow for approximately one
revolution of the tubing in a 24 hour period.
Electric Drive
The Electrical Drive System is used with progressive cavity pumps that have an electrical surface drive. The drive
system is run by an explosion-proof 12V, 110/220V or 460V motor. This system rotates the tubing string
approximately one and a half times during a 24 hour period.

E-Plus Tubing Rotator Items

Depending on your requirements, the Evolution E-Plus Rotator is sold with a specific rotating hanger.
The hanger replaces the existing hanger in the wellhead.

Installation
Procedures
1 Run production string.

2 Install Evolution Rotating
Hanger.

3 Line up four (4) keys with
slots on the gear retaining
mandrel and slide rotator
over the top.

Note
Use RX Ring if Hanger sits flush with
Wellhead. If Hanger is recessed, use
standard R-Ring.

4 Line up rotator bolt holes
with the wellhead flange.

5 Install and secure flange
bolts.
