Safety deactivation of the controllers with digital input
Configurable feed delay Monitoring sample water flow Depending on whether the pH measuring module is to be used on its own or with other sensor measuring modules, there is a choice of flow cell modules (pressu- rised and non-pressurised). For example, the pH mea- suring sensor can be used with the DEPOLOX 5 mea- suring cell to measure free chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone and potassium permanganate. Other sensors are at hand, e.g. to measure conductivity, redox vol- tage and conductivity as well as membrane-covered sensors for free chlorine, total/combined chlorine, chlo- rine dioxide and ozone (see separate data sheets). The multi-sensor integrated into the flow cell module monitors the constant sample water flow, measures the sample water temperature and provides wide-area equipotential earthing. Advantages Modular design for the MFC and pH measuring module and up to four additional sensors Four different control types to choose from, also with automatic set-point adjustment Timer-controlled dosing using programmable time switch contacts Easy to configure with selectable, preset process-adjusted applications Easy to connect to process visualisation systems via an OPC server; to web technology via a ChemWeb server Water Technologies Wallace & Tiernan MFC-pH Multi-function controller to measure the pH value The Wallace & Tiernan MFC-pH is a possible system alternative to the MFC multi-function controller. The control, measuring and analysis features of the MFC make it flexible enough for a variety of possible applications in drinking, process and waste water systems. Dosing pumps, electric stroke positioners and continuous actuators can be con- trolled directly according to the measured pH value. Up to four different control types are available for two measured settings. Choose between ratio con- trol, single feedback closed-loop control, combined control and setpoint trim, which is the combination control with adaptive nominal value. Five preset process applications assist in the configuration pro- cess and can also be used to select the control types. The MFC can therefore easily be configured to the onsite requirements. Design and function The MFC-pH multi-function controller is composed of the MFC electronic module and a flow cell module together with the pH sensor measuring module. The MFC electronic module displays the measured data and functions as the control unit. The MFC mo- dule is equipped with different controller outputs, alarm contacts and integrated safety functions. The controller outputs for positioners, pumps, and ana- logue signals (mA) are easily configured in the set- up menu. The alarm contacts (up to a max. of eight contacts) are application-dependant and freely con- figurable. A multiple assignment of safety functions such as a general alarm for monitoring limit values, sample water failure, for example, is possible as well. Due to continual product development and improvement, certain specifications may change without prior announcement.
