THE INFLUENCE OF PRACTICUM BASED LEARNING TO CRAETIVE THINKING

ABILITIES OF STUDENTS ON THE ECOSYSTEMS MATERIAL

Abstract: The Influence Of Practicum Based Learning To Craetive Think Abilities Of
Students On The Ecosystem Material (Research conducted at SMAN 1 Cariu, Bogor). This
research aims to determine the influence of practical methods to creative thinking abilities of
students in the ecosystems material. The method used is a Quasi Experimental with a pre-test
and post-test group research design. Entire population of class X SMAN 1-Bogor Cariu
consisting of five classes, while the sample in this research consisted of two classes with the
number of students in each clas is 30 students. Data collection tool in the form of essays. the
instrumen first Tested in Manbaul Huda high school Serena-Bogor, and then performed the
analysis of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and distinguishing features. As for the
analysis of the results of the study is tested by normality test, homogeneity test and the
Wilcoxon test. From the analysis of research data that is obtained by using practical learning
has a positive effect that can improve students' creative thinking skills. From Wilcoxon test
results of N- Gain experiment class with the control classes obtained Z

In other words the use of practical methods have positive
influence on students' creative thinking skills on the ecosystem material.

Introduction
In the essence, human beings are thinking. This is caused by characteristic of human that
wants to know, always ask about the who, what, how, when, where why etcetera. Curiosity
about the natural environment around him, it is human nature character since he was born
into the world. Since childhood, humans have a desire to know everything through the senses
of sight, hearing, taste and other senses. Until adult human curiosity is continuously evolving
with the use his brain and mind. Human knowledge will be meaningful when it is based on
curiosity. Human knowledge can be developed through a process of education, where
education is cant separated from the learning, in the learning occurs a interaction between
teachers and students as an activity to develop the knowledge and skills in specific areas
(Wulaningsih, 2010).
Learning is essentially an effort of educators to help students learning activities. The purpose
of learning is the realization of the efficiency and effectiveness of learning activities that
student do. The emphasis of the learning process is student learning activities. Learning is a
process of change in individual behavior that is relatively fixed as a result of experience
(Wahidin, 2006: 22).
Based on the Oxfort dictionary (in Wahidin, 2006: 5, 21) stated that IPA (science) as a branch
of science that involves observation and experimentation that applying to a natural
phenomenon. In talking about natural science (physical), both animate and inanimate beings
as well energi and that changes. Appropriate with the fact that the activity of the IPA is
always associated with experiments that require skills and crafts. Thus, discussion of science
is not just a collection of knowledge about inanimate objects and living beings, but also the
way of working, thinking, and how to solve the problem. Biology as a branch of the IPA
provides a variety of learning experiences to understand concepts and processes of science.
Based on information of the observations at the school that will serve as a research site most
of the learning process is more focused on the teacher so that students are less likely to
quietly listen and not respond to what the teachers. Actually there are some materials that
could be delivered not only use conventional methods, such as the fungi material interspersed
with the delivery of content to practice the methods so that students are more active role in
the learning process.
We realize that biology lesson deals with how to find out and understand the systematic
nature of that learning is not just for the acquisition of biological knowledge in the form of a
collection of facts, concepts, principles, but also is a process of discovery, so that students are
required to can think critically and creatively.
In order to improve human resources through education in particular biological processes
aimed at improving skills to obtain biological concepts and develop scientific attitudes and
values, then the emphasis on biology education administration experience directly. In the
teaching of biology, a model or a particular teaching method is not necessarily suitable for
every subject, so that the teacher should choose an appropriate learning model to the subject
being taught. In order for a process of interaction between teachers and students as desired,
required a model of learning in accordance with the educational objectives, situation,
facilities, teachers' personal and professional life. As a good teacher should be in charge of
the various models of learning, so it can select appropriate models and methods to be applied
to certain classes and certain subject as well.
So that lessons can be understood both by the students, then in accordance with the duties of
teachers plays an important role in teaching and learning so that teachers have to choose the
method that suits the subject matter and the condition of students. A teacher must also
involve a variety of activities to activated the students' learning activities are.
One of strategy of learning that can develop creative thinking skills that students with
practical work-based learning. Based on KBBI (1998: 698) is part of the teaching practicum
that aims to enable students to have the opportunity to test and implement in a real state of
what is obtained in the theory. In a lab-based learning students will be escorted to actively
discover their own knowledge as the process of identifying problems, formulating problems,
designing the best way to solve problems, apply them in practical activities, as well as
analyze and evaluate the results, working like a scientist. During the last practicum students
are guided to be able to perform all aspects contained in the function of the ability to think
creatively.
Looking at the problems above objectives to be achieved in this study are: how to effect
practical methods of creative thinking skills of students in the material ecosystem.
