The minutes of October 1, 2013 and October 8, 2013 were approved as submitted.
Mayor William A. Bell, Sr. recognized Police Chief AC Roper and Deputy Fire Chief
Brooks who spoke on the safety tips during the New Year's Eve celebration. Chief Roper reminded
everyone that celebratory gunfire is illegal. There will be over 100 additional officers on the streets
tonight.
Deputy Chief Rooks reminded everyone that it is better to attend only official places that
have fireworks and be careful with space heaters and kerosene heaters. Please don't put fireworks
in the hands of children.
