Thank you for considering the Games of our Heritage and Magna Kultura Foundation as possible
organizer for your sports fest. Attached herewith is a document that will give you an idea of how we will
go about in organizing your sports fest. With this document as reference, we could further discuss
details.
Magna Kultura Foundation is the national advocate for the Traditional Filipino Street Games, with
grassroots programs aimed at re-institutionalizing the games: with sports clinics and amateur
tournaments conducted in schools, Barangays, and local organizations.
To revive the games among adults, Magna Kultura made the games available as corporate team-building
activity. And Magna Kultura organizes everything, hassle-free for the HRD staff and sports committee,
allowing them to can sit back, relax, and play with the rest of their fellow-employees .

Our Palarong Pinoy event for companies features a selection of the most popular among the Filipino
Games, like Patintero, Tumbang Preso, Luksong Lubid, Sipang Bilangan and various Pinoy games executed
as hurdles in relay races that will challenge teams.
The games are organized in a Mini-Olympics format: with tournament systems, mechanics, and game
flow procedures conducted by referee-marshals and score tabulators; game materials and field ground
markers; tournament manuals with rules for each and every game; team sheets and registration forms
including program scripting and professional emcee hosting, with Olympic-music scoring during game
matches to create ambience and excitement during the event.
Included in the document is the sports fest organizing packages (on Page 14) with range of budgets that
depends on the logistic arrangements: like the number of players, which dictates the quantity game
materials and other details. Not included in the package cost are add on costs: like winner's prizes, venue
rental fee, food catering, and sound system.
We hope that Magna Kultura could contribute to the camaraderie of your colleagues through this activity,

The following presents a proposal for the

company to launch a Sports Fest that will
engage staff/employees in a team building
activity using Traditional Filipino Street
Games as platform.

TEAM BUILDING DYNAMICS

Team building is more than just dragging employees to the usual
basketball intramurals or having someone give them a lecture on
why its important to work together. People learn best when
theyre moving around, interacting, and working together on fun
challenges.
There's more than one way to improve the level of employee
engagement in a company. Using Larong Pinoy is a unique
platform to engage employees, creating youthful energy and fun
community atmosphere at the workplace. It triggers sharing of
personal experiences and insights that leads to intimate bonding.

PINOY OLYMPICS
Since the 1980s there have been many new ideas and

innovative games. Since Y2008, many companies have opted to

launch sports fest using the Traditional Filipino Street Games.
With Larong Pinoy, we make employees THINK FILIPINO.

The selection of Larong Pinoy as a Sports Fest Activity is intended to involve employees into
doing an alternative event instead of the usual western sports, to make the company affair
fun and truly Filipino. It is a fact that only a few employees get to play in the usual sports like
basketball, volleyball, or other western sports; with Larong Pinoy everybody can play --- from
executives, to staff, to clerks, to general service employees. Its a game everybody knows. Its
a game everyone can enjoy --- even the non-sporty type.

A Larong Pinoy teambuilding will challenge employees & staff to re-learn the
Filipino Street Games blended with team building values and activities in the office.

With Larong Pinoy as sports fest platform, the

team bonding goals will flow naturally among
employees and staff, internally at the office even
before the day of the event.
Internally at the Office
It will get each and every employee talking about the games,
reviewing what they know, and definitely remembering their
childhood memories. It will bring-out the child in everyone
when they relate to one another, making the office alive.
It will trigger individual exploration, making young people
consult elderly employees who are knowledgeable about the
games. It is a light and fun bridge for office bonding.
And, it will trigger CommuniTeam bonding as they practice
the games together.

Playing at the Field

Larong Pinoy is definitely out-of-the-ordinary (than the usual
basketball or track racing). Even non-players will have the fun
of watching co-employees execute compete in the games.
Total team bonding, cooperation and fun-filled discipline will
naturally flow amongst all participants.
Larong Pinoy will leave no physical hurt or emotional feelings
(unlike rough sports like basketball), because its all child-like
fun games and thrills that are so Pinoy.

The Larong Pinoy sports fest will impart a youthful

and unforgettable experience among employees.
The youthful atmosphere that it creates will
make them feel as if they all grew up together.

it builds employee relationships .

Larong Pinoy during Company Sports Fests,
bonding with fellow-employees, and building
relationships like real kababatas --- and
breathing youthful energy in the organization.

weeks after the event ---- making each and every feel as if they
grew up and played with each other when they were young.

1. TEAMS SIZE & ORGANIZATION

1.1. 4 to 8 Teams may be organized, and can be distinguished by coloed uniforms or arm bands.
1.2. Each team may comprise of mixed males/females.
1.3. Each team must assign a 1 Team Captain and 8 co-captains. The Team Captain will be the sole
coordinator with the tournament officials.

TEAMS MAY BE REPRESENTED BY TEAM COLORS

RED YELLOW BLUE GREEN or any distinguishing color
(Teams may wear colored T-Shirt, or head bands or arm-bands)

GAMES SET-UP
Employees will be divided into teams. Each member will rotate through a sequence of activities.
All games are scored with points for each team. A main tally board records team points for
each game. All points per game contribute to the overall team standing.
The team with the highest overall points will be the champion.

THE PINOY OLYMPICS WILL CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING GAMES:

PINOY RELAY GAMES
All teams compete in a timed relay race compsed of three (3) Pinoy game per match.

Karerang Takbo Piko (Step No style ) + Limbo Rock + Karera ng Sako

Karerang Talon Chinese Garter + Luksong Tinik + Luksong Baka

TEAM GAMES
Two teams compete at a time per game
Patintero. Played by 10 players from each team.
Single knock-out match between groups.
Hilahang Lubid. 20 players per team in a timed match.
Touch Ball. 10 players per team competing in a single knock-

out match versus other teams.

Employees will be divided

into teams, and each team

record will be recognized.

Suot Lusot. 30 players band together in a long line, slip the

hula hoop thru each player with-out breaking band of hands.

Luksong Lubid. Group Jumping Rope performed by 4

members, plus two others swinging the rope; members may

jump one-at-a-time or skip rope all at the same time for
double or triple points.
Sipang Bilangan. Traditional Sipa played by 10 members

from each team, each member hitting the object 10 times.

PROFESSIONAL OFFICIATION OF GAMES.

All games are TIMED, and officiated by Referees & Game Marshals.
Scores are tabulated. Demerits are counted for errors & offenses.

Its a Mini Olympics that even has Olympic music scoring!

The experience makes the event a one-of-a-kind experience.

Each Team has a Captain.

Members are assigned to
play in specific games.

THE SPORTS FEST MAY BE CONDUCTED EITHER WHOLE DAY OR HALF DAY
(including meal breaks and awarding ceremonies ). Whole day events starts at 8:30
a.m. up to 3:30 p.m. Half-day activities may be conducted during the entire
MORNING; or the entire AFTERNOON. Best venues are covered/wooden courts.

SPORTY OUTFIT OR JEANS, WITH RUBBER SHOES, SLIPPERS, OR EVEN ON FOOT.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A LARONG PINOY SPORTSFEST

Palarong Pinoy Mini-Olympics is a one-of-a-kind event activity that will surely be the talk-ofthe-office ; everyone will re-live their childhood memories and discuss with fellow-employees.
Its one-of-a-kind. It breathes youthfulness among employees. It bonds the young and old.
Unlike the usual sports (like basketball or volleyball), with Larong Pinoy almost everyone could play;
even non-players could cheerfully participate, actively cheering & jeering at the sidelines.
It takes less days and organizing expense than conducting a basketball tournament, considering
that honoraria for basketball referees is P500.00 per game --- not to mention that there are two
referees and two more table officials --- so officiating cost per game averages P2,000.00,
excluding venue fee per hour --- multiplied by the number of games in Round Robin matches
that could take many days (weeks) of games. Sometimes other employees dont attend games.
