STEVE HAZE FOR CONGRESS – Moving the San Joaquin Valley Forward

Building a Better and Brighter Future

December 14, 2009

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As you already know, I announced my candidacy for U.S. Congress on
Veterans Day. In that brief time, I have had overwhelming support and
encouragement – and much progress has been made in preparation for
the official filing which begins on February 16th, 2010. However, we have
the opportunity to gather signatures in lieu of the filing fee on January
4th. By gathering those signatures we will be sending a strong message
across this Great Valley and to Washington DC that it is no longer
business as usual – and now is the time for real and meaningful change!

In fact, we need to start right now moving America in the

right direction. We need to get everyone back to work now!
The Campaign staff is getting up and running. And, the
website is in place (www.hazeforcongress.us). And there
is a great interest and excitement that finally meaningful
and real change can occur! We have the opportunity to
take the 20th Congressional District in the heart of the San
Joaquin Valley from the bottom to much greater heights.
We have the opportunity to take control of our future and
create jobs, improve education; clean our air and water –
while creating a sense of pride and rekindling a “can do”
spirit – where there are no limits in what we are able to
Campaign Staff – (right) Stephanie Broderson,
accomplish! It’s time for us to take control to build a
Campaign Representative and Lis Bundli, better and brighter future. I need your help in getting our
Treasurer (center) message out that America needs to get moving again!

We all know that people are hurting – and are angry because it appears that our politicians seem out
of touch – and are not working hard on our behalf with a sense of urgency.

Well, I have been working hard on your behalf. I am working hard on many of the issues facing all of
us – to get jobs created and keep them here; keep our homes; keep our streets safe; keep our kids
in school and give them a decent education; keep agriculture viable; and keep our water here in the
valley! It goes on and on…
And, here’s who has already endorsed me getting elected…
Gary Alford Chair Fresno Co. Democratic Party
Jay Hubbell Vice Chair Fresno Co. Democratic Party
Susan Rowe Chair Madera Co. Democratic Party
Barbara Waldron Chair Tulare Co. Democratic Party
Richard Blackston Chair San Joaquin Co. Democratic Party
Richard Blackston Chair CA Democratic Party Federation of County Chairs

Laura Wass Director American Indian Movement of Central California
Robert Edwards Chair Enterprise 1 Tribe
Richard Johnson Native American Recipient of three Purple Hearts
Gary Temple President Sierra and Foothill Citizen’s Alliance (identification purposes only)

This is why I need your support now!

Even though times are tough, people have been sending every precious dollar they can – because
they know that we cannot afford not to do something. So please, go to my website and contribute
today (www.hazeforcongress.us). I need to continue getting my message out that we can create
meaningful change today – not some time out in the future. My first filing with the Federal Elections
Commission is due after December 31st. So please, make even a small contribution before that time.
I can assure you that for every dollar contributed – that it will be well invested and come back more
than tenfold to create and keep jobs; clean our air and water; keep our neighborhoods safe; get our
kids educated; and take back our future – now!
Remember, as we get closer to the holidays – and the hope that comes with a New Year, we need to
win this election for our families, friends and neighbors that we love – and for the hardworking
people who call this Great Valley their home. Again, let us endeavor to win this one for the children
who will someday inherent all the good that we can accomplish together.
And, from our family to yours – I wish everyone a wonderful and bountiful holiday season - as we
celebrate in fellowship.
