1.0 INTRODUCTION
The Type P1 parapet is designed to 1.5m length for Normal Level of
Containment. The first design is the standard Type P1 parapet while the second design is
Type P1 parapet with corbel. Subseuently! the railing and post are designed.
The design calculations include the design of main reinforcement! design of
vertical tie to dec"! shear capacity chec" and design of longitudinal hori#ontal
reinforcement. The clear cover used for the design of parapet is $5mm and the grade of
concrete used is %rade &'()'.
The ultimate bending moment capacity and serviceability crac"ing are chec"ed
using S*+ software.
