The VW3-G46101 option has four keys, one LED and three 7-segment displays on the front panel. A switch located at
the back is used to select configuration of the dialogue level. There are 3 dialogue levels and one locking level.

Description of PC connection option
Option VW3-G46104 is used to set up a standard RS 232C point to point link between the Altistart and a PC.
The option comprises:
i an RS 232 interface that plugs into the front of the Altistart,
i 3"1/2 x 1,44 Mb diskettes containing software,
i a connecting cable (length 3 metres) with one 9-pin connector and one 9-pin to 25-pin adaptor.
The user-friendly software has been specially developed to ensure easy installation, maintenance and downloading. It
runs on any PC compatible with 486 processor and 8 Mb of RAM in a Windows 3.1 environment.
It enables:
i display of messages in 5 languages,
i adjustment and configuration without the product being connected,
i saving of setting to diskette or hard disk, and subsequent downloading,
i print-out of settings and access to parameters which cannot be accessed with the dialogue option,
i command, control and monitoring when connected to the soft start unit.
Description of the multidrop communication option
Option VW3-G46301 provides communication on a multidrop bus; it uses the UNI-TELWAY, Modbus RTU/Jbus and
Modbus ASCII protocols and gives access to all the Altistart functions.
The option comprises:
i an RS 485 interface that plugs into the front of the Altistart,
i a connecting cable (length 3 metres) with one 9-pin connector.
The PC software can be used to configure this option. To do this, the RS 485 plug-in interface is connected to the PC
by means of the RS 232 cable (also available under reference VY1-G461510).
Communication options
These options display parameters and modify the factory configuration, either locally via a plug-in option on the starter,
or via a PC link.
