Uncounted Licenses
If you have an uncounted license, a line in your license fle will look like this:
This means RokDoc has unlimited use on the host name specifed. An uncounted license requires no
server. If the expiration date is permanent, the license never expires, although usually a RokDoc license
will have an expiration date.
To install your license le, save the license fle to the install location of RokDoc; the same directory as
RokDoc.bat, which is typically C:\Program Files\Ikon Science\RokDoc5.x. You can name the
fle anything you like, but it must have a .lic extension.
Launch RokDoc, which by default when launched for the frst time is already pointed to the RokDoc
installation directory. If prompted with the licensing dialog, toggle use license le & type the full pathway
to the license fle.

If required, a licensing environment variable can be created following these steps:
1. Right-click on my computer & choose properties
2. Click on advanced system settings (if necessary click on the advanced tab)
3. Click on the environment variables button
4. In the system variables section click on the new button
5. Set the variable name to IKON_LICENSE_FILE
6. Set the variable value to be the full pathway & fle name of the license fle

Counted Network Licenses


A counted network license has SERVER and VENDOR lines at the top of the fle:
The SERVER line should have the name of the computer running the license server, the license server
hostID & the (TCP/IP) port number for the FLEXlm license server connection. By default, RokDoc licenses
are provided with port number 27001 if this port number is already in use on your license server you can
change the port number in the license fle.
This license requires a FLEXlm license server to be running. Follow these steps to set up the license
server:
1. Copy the (OS specifc) FLEXlm folder to the machine which will be running the license server; this
must be the machine that is specifed by the hostID in the SERVER line of the license fle
2. Launch the lmtools program from the FLEXlm folder
3. Go to the cong services tab
4. Set the paths to lmgrd.exe, the RokDoc license fle, & the debug fle
5. Tick the use services checkbox
6. Save the service
7. Go to the start/stop/reread tab
8. Click on the start server button
Follow these steps for each client machine that will access a RokDoc license from the FLEXlm server:
