BACKGROUND
History of agriculture in India dates back to the
Rigveda, written about 1100 BC
Today, India ranks second worldwide in farm
output output
It accounts for 8.56% of India exports.
About 43% of Indias geographical area is used
for agricultural activity.
SITUATION
The major problems faced by farmers are Depleted
soils, lack of modern technology , poor facilities for
storage, lack of resources.
In India, crops are affected by over 200 major pests, 100
plant diseases, 100 of weeds.
Approximately 30% of Indian crop yield potential is
being lost due to diseases and weeds which in term of
quantity would mean 30 million tons of food grain.
12% grain loss during storage by unscientific method

ENVIRONMENTAL SCANNING
The fruits after being plucked are sent to factories .the
automated system collect video image from the CCD
camera placed on the top of a conveyer belt carrying
fruits, then it process the images in order to collect
several relevant features . several relevant features .
The problem we find is, it is loss to the farmer because
total number of diseased or rotten fruits will reduce his
income hence correlative actions can be taken at farm
level itself.

with the pesticides and the rotting of fruits can be avoided.
