Welcome and Notices.

Approach: Call to Worship.
Minister: Bless the Lord, O my soul,
All: and all that is within me bless his holy name.
Minister: Bless the Lord, O my soul,
All: and do not forget all his benefits -
Minister: who forgives all our iniquity
All: and heals all our diseases,
Min: who redeems us from the grave,
All: and crowns us with steadfast love and mercy.
from Psalm 103.

Hymn 210 (Morning Hymn)
1. Awake, my soul, and with the sun
your daily stage of duty run;
shake off your sleep, and joyful rise,
to pay your morning sacrifice.

2.Wake, and lift up yourself, my heart,
and with the angels take your part,
who all night long unwearied sing
high praise to the eternal King.
3.Lord, I my vows to you renew;
disperse my sins as morning dew;
guard my first springs of thought and will,
and with yourself my spirit fill.

4. Direct, control, suggest, this day,
all I design, or do, or say,
that all my powers, with all their might,
in your sole glory may unite.
5. Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
praise him, all creatures here below;
praise him above, ye heavenly host;
praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Thomas Ken (1637 -1711)

Prayer

Word: Family Talk: I have decided to follow Jesus (JP98)

1. I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jesus,
No turning back, no turning back.

2. The world behind me, the cross before me,
The world behind me, the cross before me,
The world behind me, the cross before me,
No turning back, no turning back.

3. Tho' none go with me, I still will follow,
Tho' none go with me, I still will follow,
Tho' none go with me, I still will follow,
No turning back, no turning back.

4. Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
Will you decide now to follow Jesus?
No turning back, no turning back.

Ephesians 4: 1-13.

Hymn 722 (Leaving of Lismore)
1 Spirit of God, come dwell within me.
Open my heart, oh, come set me free.
Fill me with love for Jesus, my Lord,
come, fill me with living water.
Jesus is living, Jesus is here.
Jesus, my Lord, come closer to me :
Jesus, our Saviour, dying for me,
and rising to save his people.
2 Lord, how I thirst, my Lord, I am weak.
Lord, come to me, you alone do I seek.
Lord, you are life and love and hope,
come, fill me with living water.
3 Lord, I am blind, my Lord, I cant see.
Stretch out your hand, bring comfort to me.
Lead me your way in light and in truth,
come, fill me with living water.
Helen Kennedy
St. John 5: 1-9.

Sermon: Wholeness in Christ.

Response: Hymn 718 (Ye Banks and Braes)
1 We cannot measure how you heal
or answer every sufferers prayer,
yet we believe your grace responds
where faith and doubt unite to care.
Your hands, though bloodied on the cross,
survive to hold and heal and warn,
to carry all through death to life
and cradle children yet unborn.
2 The pain that will not go away,
the guilt that clings from things long past,
the fear of what the future holds,
are present as if meant to last.
But present too is love which tends
the hurt we never hoped to find,
the private agonies inside,
the memories that haunt the mind.
3 So some have come who need your help
and some have come to make amends
as hands which shaped and saved the world
are present in the touch of friends.
Lord, let your Spirit meet us here
to mend the body, mind, and soul,
to disentangle peace from pain
and make your broken people whole.
John L. Bell (b.

1949) and Graham Maule (b.

1958)
Offering: Hymn 505 v1 (as Offering brought forward)
1 Take this moment, sign, and space ;
take my friends around ;
here among us make the place
where your love is found.
John L. Bell (b.

1949) and Graham Maule (b.

1958)

Prayer/ Lords Prayer

Hymn 644 (Thornbury )
1 O Jesus, I have promised
to serve you to the end ;
be now and always near me,
my master and my friend :
I shall not fear the battle
if you are by my side,
nor wander from the pathway
if you will be my guide.
2 Oh, let me feel you near me :
the world is ever near ;
I see the sights that dazzle,
the tempting sounds I hear ;
my foes are ever near me,
around me, and within ;
but, Jesus, draw still nearer,
and shield my soul from sin.
3 Oh, let me hear you speaking
in accents clear and still,
above the storms of passion,
the murmurs of self-will ;
Oh, speak to reassure me,
to hasten or control ;
O speak, and make me listen,
true guardian of my soul.
4 O Jesus, you have promised
to all who follow you,
that where you are in glory
your servant shall be too ;
and, Jesus, I have promised
to serve you to the end :
now give me grace to follow,
my master and my friend.
