ACCIDENT IDENTIFICATION USING GPS AND GSM

Day by day man improving technology and introducing new technologies to make
human lifestyle so simple, safety and secure. But still we have some problem
whenever we face some sudden unexpected situation occurs like accident. We are
losing so many lives because of delay in reaching the hospitals or intimating to
ambulances. This project is designed to inform about the accident location that has
occurred to concerned persons. The main application of this system is track the
vehicle using the !" modem. This modem gives the information about its position
whenever re#uired in the form of latitudes and longitudes. This is done with the help
of the !" satellite and the !" module attached to the vehicle which needs to be
tracked.
The lobal !ositioning "ystem $!"% is a satellite&based navigation system made up
of a network of '( satellites placed into orbit by the ).". Department of Defense.
!" was originally intended for military applications, but in the *+,-s, the
government made the system available for civilian use. !" works in any weather
conditions, anywhere in the world, '( hours a day.
. !" receiver must be locked on to the signal of at least three satellites to
calculate a 'D position $latitude and longitude% and track movement. With four or
more satellites in view, the receiver can determine the user/s 0D position $latitude,
longitude and altitude%. 1nce the user/s position has been determined, the !" unit
can calculate other information, such as speed, bearing, track, trip distance,
distance to destination, sunrise and sunset time and more.
The !" antenna present in the !" module receives the information from the !"
satellite and it reveals the position information. This information received from the
!" antenna is sent to the controlling station where it is decoded. Thus, the
complete data related to the vehicle is available at the controlling unit.
Whenever the accident occurs to any vehicle with any other vehicle or with
something else, this information is sent immediately to the 2ocal ambulance using a
"3 modem by the controlling unit. This "3 modem has an antenna too. The
2ocal ambulance telephone number will be stored in the "43 card of the "3
modem. The provision to change the mobile number to which the message has to
be sent is also provided in this system.
