Not for Sale

1... In this race of life, God never blesses a quitter. You don't have time to even think about
quitting. Your inheritance is too great to sell out.
2... Jesus told His disciples, he that endureth until the end, the same shall be saved. Don't sell
out!
Gen 25:33-34
33 And J acob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright
unto J acob.
34 Then J acob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up,
and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

Introduction:
1 There is an ancient saying that goes: "Everything is for sale, you just need a buyer. You
may have heard a variation of that: Everything is for sale, if the price is right". Someone once
said: Everyone has a price tag. (Do you have a price tag? How much would it take to buy you
inheritance?).
2 Isaac's firstborn son, Esau was entitled to the birthright and inheritancebut we do not
speak of "Abraham, Isaac, and Esau." (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob). Esau sold his birthright for
one meal. When Jacob offered food and asked for his birthright, Esau could have said, "No! It is
not for sale," but he did not. He sold out the eternal for a moment's temporal satisfaction. (So
many today are selling out for a moment of temporal satisfaction).
Matt 16:26
26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or
what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Don't Sell Out Your Inheritance:
1... In the pages of the Word of God we find those who refused to sell out.
2... Such as Daniel who refused to eat from the kings table because he refused to be defiled.
3... When the king made a degree, that no man was to pray, Daniel did not sell out, He continued
to pray three times a day with his windows open toward Jerusalem.
4... Daniels three friends, Shadrach, Meshack, and Abendigo, refused to sell out. The king
commanded them to bow down and worship the golden image. Because they refused to sell out,
the fire could not burn them, and the kings saw four men walking in the fire and the fourth is like
the Son of God. (When you stand up for what is right, the Son of Man will show up).
5... If you will remain faithful to God, He will remain faithful to you.
Your Inheritance:
1 As New Testament Christians, we have an inherited birthright through Jesus Christ the
firstborn Son of God.
2 As a Christian, you are the seed of Abraham! What does that mean? It means everything
God promised him belongs to you. It has been passed down to you through Jesus.
3 Abrahams blessing is your inheritance!
4 Dont sell your inheritance.
Esau Sold His Inheritance:
1 In (Heb 12:17) we find these words, For ye know how that afterward, when he would have
inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it
carefully with tears.
2 You were bought with a pricethe precious blood of Christ. Nothing in you or that you
have is for sale. You and everything about you belongs to Jesus.
1 Cor 6:20
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit,
which are God's.

3 The devil will offer you momentary satisfaction as he reaches for your birthright.
4 Resist the devil's counsel. He promises the rainbow-but only delivers the rain.
5 Determine today that your inheritance is not for sale.
6 Refuse to believe the lies of the world. Nothing it offers you can begin to compare with the
treasure laid up for you in eternity. Reject compromising the truth and selling part of your
integrity for temporal gain. Stockpile your treasures in heaven, not on earth.
Its Not For Sale:
1 In (1 Kings 21:1-3) we find a man named Naboth who had a vineyard close to the palace of
Ahab king of Samaria.
2 In (Vs2) we find that Ahab said to Naboth, "Let me have your vineyard to use for a
vegetable garden, since it is close to my palace. In exchange I will give you a better vineyard or,
if you prefer, I will pay you whatever it is worth."
3 In (Vs3) we find that Naboth replied, "The LORD forbid that I should give you the
inheritance of my fathers." (Note the word Father's, not just father, but fathers, handed down
from generation to generation).
4 It seems like a reasonable offer on the surface. The king apparently was a gardener and
wanted this patch of ground close to his palace to raise himself a vegetable garden. But, Naboth
refuses the kings offer.
5 Naboth realized that what he possessed was not his to sale anyway. What he possessed was
the gift of God and he was merely a caretaker. We find in (Nu.36:7) that no inheritance of the
sons of Israel shall be transferred from tribe to tribe, for the sons of Israel shall each hold to the
inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
6 Naboth was to keep the land in the family and pass it down from generation to generation.
(If a man under the Old Covenant, knew better than to sell out what his father had given him,
how much more should we, being under the grace, and mercy of the shed blood of a risen savior,
hold on to what you have and tell the devil that you will never sell out).
7 We need to take an inventory of all the great gifts that we have been given by the Lord. We
are merely custodians of these things. We are caretakers who must pass them along to the next
generation.
8 Naboths fathers had passed this inheritance down to him, one day he would join them in
passing that inheritance down to the next generation. If he sold the farm, there would be nothing
to hand down. Thus, he said, Its not for sale!
What is our inheritance?
1... Peace in the middle of the storms.
2... Comfort in the midst of war.
3... The inheritance that we have is that we are the head and not the tail.
4... The inheritance that we have is above and not beneath.
5... The inheritance we have is blessed in the city, blessed in the field, blessed when we come,
and when we go.
6... The inheritance we have is being more than a conqueror.
7... The inheritance we have is no weapon formed against you shall prosper.
8... The inheritance we have is God will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
9... The inheritance we have is that we are the Sons of God, joint heirs with Jesus Christ, and the
power in Heaven and earth belongs to us.
