Commerce, Inc. is bridging the Gap between Corporate and Community
Af fairs. The Chamber was established in 2010 by its founder John L. Scott
and is currently led by its President, Phil Andrews.
The establishment of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce,
Inc. Provides signicant opportunities for Corporations and Community based
organizations to impact the region in a signicant manner improving the lives
of the citizens it serves in the local market it was designed to serve. Phil

The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce (LIAACC) serves
Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Kings Counties. The Long Island African
American Chamber of Commerce, Inc.s monthly Business Card Exchange
and Breakfast Series is designed to help facilitate trade and foster busi-
ness growth through a variety of channels such as networking events,
informational sessions, access to capital, and technical assistance.
It
was a great oppor tunity for LIAACC to network
with 100 Black Men of Americas founding chapter
100 Black Men of New York, Inc. at their recent golf
and tennis outing. We look for ward to forming quality strategic
partnerships with community based organizations and corporations
in the region.

Sharon Davis of Freeport has been appointed vice president of
the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce board
of directors. She is chief executive of S.J. Edwards Inc.,

The Mission of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc.,
is to advance and promote economic development for business, and to advance
responsive government and quality education on the behalf of all small busi-
nesses, with emphasis on African Ancestry, while preserving the Long Island
community. Long Island means the New York State counties on Nassau, Suffolk,
Queens and Kings. A Chamber of Commerce is one of the most well known and
recognizable organizations in the country chartered to stimulate business in local
and regional areas where they are designated to serve.
We are going to be the voice of businesses in the African American community that

The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce
(LIAACC) is very excited about the Brooklyn Borough
Presidents position on Economic Development and increasing
contracting opportunities for Minority/Women Owned
Businesses (MWBEs). In my role as LIAACCs Brooklyn
Director, I will be diligently working with our MWBE Committee on certication
workshops and education programs, creating a Win/Win for the Borough.

monthly Business Card Exchange and
Breakfast Series which included
networking, pampering and a free photo shoot. The Business Card Exchange
featured guest speaker Lorette Farris, President and CEO of Ibossinc.com and
the topic was Raising Capital in the New Capital Market.
