An educational trip to Pakistans one of famous TV channel PTV home which was organized by our visual communication lecturer miss Hira Awan. Had a privilege to learn from such professionals. One of the incharge Mr.Asim zuberi from PTV Home who had an experience from more than 40 (Forty) years, guided us through the entire trip in a very intellectual manner which helped us to understand every single thing properly. Firstly, we went to control room A and He gave us details about the recording live telecasting shows. There were three types of equipments/controllers. which were was controlled by the staff members and supervised by the producer. The equipments for the live show were ; Light, Audio and Sound and set setti . Whatever were goes on screen is controlled by control room. VIT (oldly known as VCRs) is a source for recording videos. There has to be three different angles one for close-up and one on right and one on left. After that we visited another studio, which had one room but two different sets one was of puppet show and other was of, sports. Then we visited the Master control room. The final clips to be telecast are send to the Master control room. Afterwards we moved towards post production room. This is the place where producer decides that what he exactly is going to show on the screen. There Mr.Asim Zuberi told us that editing is an art and every single person do not know how to do it wisely, its a technique one can manipulate the truth and it depends whatever an individual wants to show. Then the last but not the least, we went at the roof of the building there another information we got to know that Signals were transmitted by satellite and sometimes they get them late too and because of that they have to give a break to the viewers what if there is any live show or news going on. At the end we went to the office of Miss Farkhanda Shaheen. Head of the PTV home, there we gave our introduction and shared our thoughts about media. we got to learn a lot. She was impressed and advised us regarding our future. Further told us that PTV is a state own channel and they are following the rules of PEMRA (Pakistan electronic media regulatory authority). She moreover gave us the confirmation that the news they on air is 100 percent authentic. And the channel is run by the Government of Pakistan as a Islamic nation. They moreover shared that one has to be very responsible for whatever news he or she on airs on the channel, also told that as a government network they have to face many other problems by the common people too, and they handle them very wisely. In last we had a photo session with them and thanked them to give their precious time from their busy schedules.
