Your I&R should discuss the following:
- Strengths and/or limitations of the project ideas or processes
- Other possible ideas or approaches that your group could have adopted

Areas (ideas/processes) to consider

Choice of topic
- Challenges that arose because of choice of topic (AEI)
What are the circumstances that resulted in this challenge (dont just identify,
must explain how challenge arises)
- Plausible solutions you might consider to tackle those challenges (GI)
e.g. Due to your target group it is difficult to come up with a sample size of even
30 people
- What are some strength/ weaknesses of your solutions (AEI)

Research focus
- What new knowledge did you gain about the topic (AEI) and how has this
knowledge impacted your project (GI)
Any other parts of the project that you can read about to have a better
understanding of your target group
- Has your project enabled you to rethink your views on the Singapore
society and the different roles of key players? (AEI)
e.g. preconceived notions after doing the project, what have you realized that
made you change your action plan
- How have your encounters with the various stakeholders changed your
perceptions? (AEI)
- What other new domains of knowledge would you acquire to learn more
about your target group?

Research methodology
- Method used to collect info
Primary: Surveys, interviews, pilots, focus group, discussions, observations)
How did you conduct the survey, how accurate was it; survey questions used:
does it result in accurate or inaccurate results
- Reflection on primary research method
In what ways was the primary r/s limited
What other alternative research method would you propose?
How would alternative method be able to resolve the problem?

Action plan idea, implementation of action plan
- What are the strengths and weaknesses of action plans
E.g. Assumptions made about target group/ stakeholders
E.g. Different agenda of stakeholders
E.g. Choice of target group
- What improvements/ changes can you suggest to tackle the limitations?
Provide account and analysis. What has given rise to this particular problem/
weakness? Do not just state.
- What other approaches would you consider?
- Why?

Implementation of Action Plan
- What difficulties do you foresee if you were to implement your proposal
(AEI)
- How would you overcome these difficulties (GI)
e.g. sustainability; maybe it does not address the target group profile; Does it
appeal to your target group? Is there a win-win situation? if there isnt, then
why would they want to collaborate with you?

Suggested format
AEI GI AEI
Evaluate limitations of ideas details of proposed change justification or
further evaluation for proposed change
From the 5 areas, choose 3 and do 3 sets of AEI GI AEI

DOS
- Provide insights on project ideas to show critical thinking and maturity
- Reflect on wider implications on other areas, issues, segments of society
etc.
AVOID
- Repeating WR
- Dont whine about time management issues etc. (those that affects all
groups)
- Attempt to answer some useful questions in the guide
- We had a lot of conflicts working with each other

We surveyed 30 youths in Boys Town our stakeholder. As most of our
respondents are still schooling and have never been employed, they may not
have a thorough understanding of sgs employment scene. Thus they may ;ack
the necessary knowledge to respond to questions pertiaining to how current
measures can be imporved upon to help them seek employ, ent. Their ability to
answer such questions may be hampered, which compromises the usefulness of
our survey resuls.
One possible improvement would be to attach a booklet containint employment-
related info to each survey. This booklet will contain detailed write-ups on
different carrers requirement and will outline qualities employers look for in
potential employees. Furthermore, the booklet will give a concise summary
about sgs employment scene. Hence, our respondents acquire understanding

Another proposed shortcoming is that our proposed guide may not be able to
respond to the changing needs and interests of OSYs. Although we did consider
OSYs needs when crafting our proposed guide, there is a possibility that their
needs may change overtime as they may require more career guidance to plan
their carrer path, which we did not address. Consequently, OSYs may feel that
these measures are not relevant in helping them gain employment and lose
interest. Hence.

()
Boys town can facilitate a monthly meeting between OSYS and co workers or
employees that they are in dispute with, with the counselor acting as a mediator.
The counserlor can help both parties reach a consensus, thus resolving the
dispute.
This enables OSYs to overcome problems more effectively as the counselor can
obtain different perpectives from diff parties. Thus, our counselors may give
OSYs better advice and help OSYs solve their workplace problems
simultaneously, thus mitigating the risks that businesses take.
