Sustainability is a corporate objective of
Volkswagen and therefore more than just a
good intention. For us this means develop-
ing vehicles that place less burden on the en-
vironment without compromising on com-
fort or everyday suitability: vehicles like the
Multivan BlueMotion. It sets new bench-
marks in its class for fuel consumption and
CO2 emission. This is not only the result of
state of the art engineering but above all it is
our contribution towards responsible, sus-
tainable mobility.

standard BM BlueMotion
Start/stop system. After shifting into
neutral and releasing the clutch, the
engine is switched off automatically,
for example at red traffic lights. To
start the engine again, it is enough to
step on the clutch.
Passenger compartment. The special BlueMotion design of the Scout upholstery together with high-quality carpeting in the
passenger compartment and cab make the interior of the Multivan BlueMotion very inviting. A 3-seater bench seat secured on a
4-rail system provides a high level of comfort. Two comfortable single swivelling seats can be added as an option. These too can
be fitted and moved on the rail system. A multifunction table

is fitted in the sliding door trim. When required, the table can be
clipped onto the side rail and then put up.
Tyres with optimised rolling resistance.
The Multivan BlueMotion makes con-
tact with the road via tyres with optimised
rolling resistance. The lower rolling
resistance of these tyres reduces fuel con-
sumption and therefore CO2 emission
as well.
BlueMotion measures. In addition to tyres with optimised rolling resistance and the start/stop system (see facing page), the Multivan
BlueMotion features regenerative braking. This converts energy released during braking or overrun into electric energy which is
then stored in the battery. Cruise control reduces fuel consumption by maintaining an even speed, and a tyre monitoring display
warns you if a tyre is losing pressure which again helps to save fuel. A Plus multi-function display is included so that you can
keep an eye on fuel consumption and other key information during the journey. The result of all these measures: the fuel consumption
of the 2.0 l 84 kW TDI engine

is approx. 0.9 litres less

i.e. an average of 6.4 litres per 100 km, which equates to a combined CO2
emission figure of 169 g/km.
Fog lights. They ensure good visibility
in poor weather conditions. The integ-
rated turning light function provides
optimal illumination of the road, also
at crossroads and road junctions.
The fog lights have chrome surrounds.
Equipment.
The Multivan BlueMotion is the thriftiest vehicle in its class this has been achieved
by a comprehensive package with many innovative technologies. A new, even more
efficient TDI engine

with common rail technology is literally the heart of the package.
Many other components in the vehicle have been specially adapted: for example, the
tyres and energy management. However, it is equally important that progress in respect
of economy and ecology does not mean that compromises have to be made. Both ride
comfort and the space offered remain unchanged and are to the Multivans customary
high standards. This combination is really special and this is plain to see on the
Multivan BlueMotion: particularly when it sports the exclusive Glacier Blue Metallic
paint finish, one of twelve colours in the range.

Paint finishes and seat upholstery.
The Multivan BlueMotion can be ordered with an exclusive Glacier Blue Metallic paint
finish. This shows at first glance that you are driving a very special Multivan. Depending
on the seat upholstery selected, you have a choice of up to twelve different paint finishes.
