The intern will participate in efforts to advance the YMCA strategic priority to ensure that all segments of society have access to the YMCA at all levels, feel welcome and fully engage as participants, members, staff and volunteers. The intern will gain valuable professional experience in a national nonprofit through supporting the Diversity & Inclusion team in coordination of projects, research, production of tools and resources, meeting planning, training and other support. This position requires a full semester (spring, summer or fall) commitment of at least 30 hours per week and is supported by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (NLA).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Create internship work plan (in partnership with supervisor) and take initiative to ensure a high level experiential learning experience Further strengthen the partnership between the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance and Y-USA Provide support to Project Manager (including support for department meetings, Diversity Opportunity Team and administrative support) Support departmental service delivery tracking efforts, especially related to integration of diversity, inclusion & global (DIG) concepts into strategic and operational plans and supporting local Ys in engaging underserved communities Support the Ys six nationally recognized and supported Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in partnership with Diversity & Inclusion Manager Support departmental research, tool and resource development Participate in department staff meetings Collaborate with International Group on social media efforts and support Support Diversity & Inclusion coordination and integration efforts across Y-USA Constantly engage with Y-USA and local Y staff and volunteers in professional, meaningful and impactful ways Other duties as assigned by supervisor

This internship position will assist the Y-USA Diversity & Inclusion team to further promote an organizational culture of diversity and inclusion and advance the YMCA strategic priority to ensure that all segments of society have access to the Y.
