Reflection Paper on ROMERO

This film shows the life of Archbishop Oscar Romero in El Salvador. This shows that we
can fight violence peacefully.
After watching this movie, it obviously show that they fight their freedom peacefully,
they did not use any violence to protect them, and Archbishop Romero used his words to fight
his people. One of the things they emphasize was worship, it is one of the important things that
should not be forgotten especially when were leading people. Worship can reduce peoples
pressures from any difficulties, and worship can give people courage. Archbishop use his words
to fight violence that has been spreading in their place. He wanted to stop the killing, he always
want to stop violence. Worship can give people strengths to fight for justice peacefully.
Worship motivates people to be faithful Christian who love his neighbors. Worship can give the
hope for hopeless. Worship can give people to think back their lives not to be problem makers
and tools for problem makers but to change their lives and stand for needed people. In leading
people there is no need to use violence in protecting your people, God will always be our Savior
and protector, Archbishop Romero used this to command and protect his people.
When Archbishop Romero was killed, it was disrespectful to the church they are
celebrating the Eucharist and shot him dead. It only shows that in that time there are many
people who dont have conscience and dont care about killing people. It also shows how ugly
the government is that time because theyre doing what they want to do even if it kills people.
The government that time didnt think about their decision because they just think about their
life instead of thinking one another. The government was very cruel on how they lead their
people. Archbishop Romero served the people peacefully and he also think others life. He is a
martyr and I admire what we do while he was living in that situation that is fighting their rights
in the government without the use of harm. He always worships God and by that he has the
ability to lead people peacefully in the right path.
We can fight violence without using violence, we can stop others by simply letting know
our God, by letting them see the power of God. Archbishop Romero is just one of the people
who fights violence with the teaching of the church, he fought violence with his words, leading
people not to use force, and this is the very essence of believing in God.
