It is truly remarkable how desperately BHOs acolytes have strained to support him as
he twists/turns, particularly those of the anti-War left. CNNs commentary after the
BHO-speech was muted, with most all correspondents using the term interesting.
[This wordalong with niceare best viewed as pro-jectives, a neologism that
combines pronoun and adjective; they actually are place-holders, signifying nothing,
reflecting the abject-vacuousness and/or evasive-desire of the speaker.] Naturally,
analysis on FNC was far more expansive, with the endpoint suggesting that BHO may
trully want Congress to do exactly what Parliament didbecause he prefers invisibility.
In any case, as will be detailed in upcoming blasts, it is vital to compartmentalize the issues, lest the
latest suggestions from the BHO-ites be permitted to muddy the water [attempting to link a request for
more military-$ to an effort to bust the Sequester+. That BHOs standing will be injured by his errant

To provide perspective regarding the Kurds, a few of the more recent articles mined from multiple
sites are presented, along with a piece that was provided by Dr. Sherkoh Abbas regarding his efforts. It is
desirable to emulate efforts by caroline glick to work towards resetting-us-foreign-policy by noting that
the Kurds are experiencing ethnic-cleansing-in-syria [the-unseen-terror] and that, as a result, 20,000
Syrian Kurds Fled Syrian Islamists and Entered Iraq; syrian-kurds-have found-more-than-a-refuge-in-
iraqi-kurdistan, reflecting the fact that The Kurds face both the Opportunity to create a homeland plus
Peril as they try to fend off those who would create an Islamist state. Dr. Sherkoh Abbas, a veteran
Kurdish dissident, has therefore called for dismantling the country into ethnicity-based areas.


A brief overview of the Kurdistan National Assembly Syria
(Kurdnas)

Based on the Washington March 12
th
, 2006 Conference at the US Capitol, the Kurdistan
National Assembly Syria (Kurdnas) was established on May 29
th
, 2006 and officially
announced itself to the world from the rostrum of the European Union in Brussels. Up
until that time, members of the Assembly in North America and Europe had been
working on behalf of the Syrian Kurds.

Upon announcing the formation of the Assembly, it soon found in its attendance the
majority of the Kurdish political parties as well as Kurdish tribes and chieftains in
addition to religious and civic leaders. Kurdnas inauguration was also attended by
representatives from every corner of Kurdistan (Iran, Iraq, Syria and Turkey) as well as
representatives of some Syrian Arab opposition parties.

Under the pressure of the regime's totalitarian system some Kurdish political parties
withdrew from the conference (Kurdnas) and some withdrew nominally in order to
avoid a severe crackdown by Syrian Intelligence Services within Syrian Kurdistan.
Nevertheless, many of these political parties, civic leaders and tribal chieftains have
continued their membership secretly until they may once again resume open affiliation
with Kurdnas albeit under much safer conditions. This means that although prominent
Kurdish parties retain membership in the Kurdnas board, they will continue such
membership anonymously. Once international support has been secured and sufficient
strength built, Kurdnas will proceed forward by officially announcing the names and
statuses of all member parties.

Yet in spite of the regime opposition to some members of the Assembly, Kurdnas is
proud to count the open membership of political parties and prominent members such
as Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, Kurdistan Democratic National Accord (Wefaq),
Wave of Young Democratic Kurds, former Secretary generals, chieftains and religious
leaders such Haki and Khazanawi.

Kurdnas is also a Council Member of the Syrian Democratic Alliance and Syrian
Democratic Collation, which includes the Union of Syrian Arab tribes, Arab clans,
Kurdistan Democratic National Accord - Syria, and the Christian Democratic Movement.

The Assembly has established relations with the U.S. and the European Union while
simultaneously promoting the concept of a federal democratic state for Syria where all
the communities and minorities of Syria can live in harmony as one. Such a federalized
state would undoubtedly yield good relations with neighboring countries while helping
to secure a peaceful coexistence with regional nations.

Kurdnas actively works towards securing the right to self-determination for Syrian Kurds
within a united federalized Syria. The Assembly also believes in reducing the negative
influence of external state actors, such as regional countries, as well as non-state actors,
such as Kurds outside of Syrian Kurdistan.

groups affiliated to al-Qaeda in Kurdistan of Syria. *The US Department of State warned Kurdistan
Region President Massoud Barzani over intervening in Syria Kurdish regions as the move fuels Syrias
war flames. Addressing a press conference, the Spokesman for US Department of State, Marie Harf
asked Barzani to reconsider his pledge for intervening in northern Syria if it is proved the al-Qaeda
affiliated groups have committed genocide against the Kurds in the country.+ He depicts a world-

The grist file and the ObamaCare file are overflowing, and the writings on Facebook havent been
checked for almost two days, but sufficient data have been mined to allow for a distillation of the plan
that has been promulgated regarding ObamaCare. This information has been presented to many people
during the past week *particularly during Thursdays rally, organized by Heritage Action+ and details
have been refined primarily through the office of Congressman Tom Price [with those associated with
John Goodman alerted as to what is being proposed]. One facet of these efforts [ensuring an alternative
plan will be proposed via the CR] has borne fruit [by whatever mechanism], but the grunt-work
regarding the second shoe that must soon be dropped is ongoing *trisecting the CRs in the House+:
HR 2009 *Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act of 2013+ was passed by the House and
could be appended to the CR covering the Treasury Department; HR 2300 *Empowering
Patients First+ could be appended to the CR covering the Health and Human Services
Department; the remaining eight departments could then be amalgamated into one CR
and passed [thereby envisioned to be passed by the Senate and signed by the POTUS].
In this fashion, the GOP would not be portrayed as the Party of NO! because it
would have adopted [and funded] its alternative-plan, and the GOP would not be
portrayed as having shut down government because it would have upheld its duties
[per the Constitution, Article I, Section 7] to originate government-funding bills.
On the national level, communications have been established with Tea Party Patriots, Heritage Action,
and FreedomWorks; Fund for Growth will be contacted on Tuesday to gauge its assessment. On the local
level, all of the major TEA *Taxed Enough Already+ Party Groups were contacted, and all except one
will congregate on Tuesday-p.m. because of the ongoing reticence of Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick to get with
the program; the one that declined *which has a limited presence in Bucks County+ advised *spelling
corrected] its viewpoint [without identifying what further information would prompt it to go public+:
[W]e have come to realize that the Republican strategy to delay and defund ObamaCare
has not yet been fully fleshed out and we are withholding comment and judgment until
the appropriate time. We have conveyed our hope that Congressional Republicans will
be able to devise a unified strategy that focuses on delaying and defunding
the implementation of ObamaCare to the greatest extent possible. We believe a unified
front is the only way we can possibly defeat this disastrous piece of legislation at this
very late hour.
Heritage Action held the last of nine health-care town-hall meetings [over a fortnight] in Wilmington,
Delaware on 8/29/2013. Rafael Cruz, Texas pastor and father of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), & Heritage
Foundation Pres. Jim DeMint promoted their efforts to defund the health care law. C-SPAN broadcast it
live, and the 80-minute video can be watched @ any time; it will be rebroadcast @ 1:31 p.m. on Sunday
[just after the program that will include Ben Shapiro, of Breitbart-fame]. {Guzzardi and I (and his ex
Elaine) are on the first-row on the extreme-right @ 14-minutes; the choice of locale was symbolic [?].}
Efforts to unify the GOP in a concerted effort to Defang *the IRS+ and to Defund *the HHS+ continue,
applying tough-love when neededto help it champion the strong desires of 60% of the electorate.

these rhetorical lines: We have been fervent supporters of Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick for years,
having provided time, cognition and money to this honest civil servant. Yet, he has not yet agreed to
oppose financing ObamaCare through the Continuing Resolution, for whatever reason[s]. He is
threatening to undermine the energies expended by his base, which has provided the door-knocking
component that underlies his achievements; indeed, the intensity of the national effort even extends to
plans to primary each Republican who attempts to forget that If you fund it, you own it! There is no
further information available that will affect any effort to strategize regarding this issue. We therefore
hope that Mike will announceimmediatelythat he recognizes the acute dangers of statism that
ObamaCare would cement into American life and specifically pledge to oppose funding ObamaCare on
each/every vote that he will take throughout the rest of his current term. We would want Mike to
embrace the two-pronged innovation detailed previously *splitting the CRs to isolate the two pivotal
oneswhich would be amended to forestall IRS-enforcement and to mandate HHS implementation of
the GOP-plan+, recognizing that it could initially provide common ground among Republicans and
subsequently yield a dont blink *no compromise+ posture when dealing with the Democrats.

Fourth, amplifying documented lawlessness permeating the ObamaCare roll-out is the latest revelation
that is obviously intended to quell the eruption from Organized Labor [white-house-considers-awarding-

desirable simply to delay implementation; procrastination *such as Boehners trial-balloon advising
prompt adoption of a 60-day temporary foot-drag] would allow for BHO to start getting people to
sign-up with the exchanges [as of 10/1/2013]. This must be viewed as totally unacceptable; indeed,
some of us would go so far as to suggest that this one vote must not be tethered to any other issue and
must not permit BHO to shift-$ to accomplish his nefarious goals unimpeded by mandamus-injunctions
and/or threatened-litigation. Mike and his colleagues must be helped to recognize that no other issue
promises to trump this one [for immediacy and implications], recalling that ObamaCare has NOTHING to
do with healthcare and EVERYTHING to do with government control over everyones private life;
Middle of the Road in Healthcare Leads to Socialism, so the reader may wish to take a crash-course
that summarizes many of the points we have made: Defunding ObamaCare 101.

Fifth, it is always desirable to be reminded of 12-unspoken-rules-for-being-a-liberal.

Sixth, an article that concluded Ted Cruz enjoys clear edge among tea party activists at Americans for
Prosperity summit cements my view that he remains the early GOP frontrunner for POTUS:

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, all of whom addressed the organization
Friday. While the others were warmly received absent some activists

Here is a personal reaction which was triggered by this article:

First of all, this is a pivotal article for many reasons, as the GOP girds for
battle over ObamaCare; clearly, the support for Cruz "translates" into
endorsing his defunding effort.

Second, anyone wishing to follow [via Facebook] the compilation of
presidential-aspirations exploding daily regarding Cruz can join either
"Ted Heads" or "Ted Cruz for President 2016."

Third, anyone wishing to watch his father's speech this past Thursday in
Wilmington, Delaware @ the rally promoted by Heritage Action can
either tune-in tomorrow on C-SPAN-I @ 1:31 p.m. e.d.t. or can watch
the 80-minute event; he gave the invocation and the coda.

Fourth, what is clear, now, is that the POTUS-nomination will be
contested between the "moderates" [with genealogy back through
Romney to McCain] presumably led by Christie [although Walker could
be recruited in case Chris doesn't lose enough weight] and the triad of
Cruz/Paul/Rubio. Most conservatives feel Rubio has become self-

marginalized, and his "Hispanic" appeal is subsumed by Cruz; likewise,
the stridency of Paul [particularly regarding foreign policy, c/o his
father] is subsumed by the balance struck by Cruz.

Therefore, this article serves to reinforce the capacity for Cruz to
emerge as the undisputed leader of the Conservatives in the GOP, and
he won't allow a public spat to emerge with anyone [including Christie]
as did Paul. His capacity to attract additional support could create a
tsunami that would potentially freeze-out many potential opponents
ahead-of-time, and no amount of D-inspired bad-mouthing would alter
this outcome.

Cruz is a straight-talker, he is honest, he is Presidential, he is a leader,
and anyone listening to his father will recognize how very close fell the
apple from the family tree.

that accumulated hyperlinks regarding ObamaCare would be consolidated and, as desirable as it is to

The status of the ObamaCare defunding effort is both unsettled and energized; as per last nights
summary, all TEA Party Movement groups in Bucks County will meet on Tuesday to decide whether to
confront Congressman Fitzpatrick with the if you fund it, you own it ultimatum. Noted is his having
delivered the Weekly Republican Address [8/31/13] which was, again, complaining ObamaCare kills jobs
while being long on short on remedies and noted is his press-release which depicted his discussion with
physicians of health-care policy; this must be compared/contrasted with the energy behind the national
movement promulgated by heritage action, as manifest last Thursday-p.m. in promotion of its defund-
tour, held in wilmington-delaware. Resolve to mesh our philosophical and practical postures into a
resolute defunding posture has been enhanced by exhaustive review of all data and opinions prominent
on the Internet; in particular, this physician and Rob have exchanged notes andcandidlyhave
attempted to divine any alternative pathwaybut have failed to conjure any rationalization for even
partially-funding this recognized-monstrosity that Mike could muster in support of procrastination.

Were this issue not so serious, it would be easier to appreciate the levity in some of

'tied together.' But disappointment with Mike is so closely coupled with the conclusion
that defunding ObamaCare is the only-way to save America from achieving 1984-
status [three decades late] that it has become necessary to ponder the profound impact
on Bucks County GOP-politics that would potentially result from any GOP effort to
primary him, next year *again yielding the painful need to deliver tough love+.

It is instructive to note how the TPM *TEA Party Movement+ has matured; Mike didnt hold any open
Town Halls this past August, but it wasnt necessary to convey the message of disenchantment overtly.
Consider the reaction to the multiple deviations by Lindsay Graham from bedrock conservatism [notably
yielding his nick-name Grahamnesty+; a Tea Party Group will hold an Event intended to vet his
Challengers, lest a three-headed monster serve to split his opposition; the goal would be to avoid
settling upon those who have proven to be wild disappointments. And recall that the Independence Hall
Tea Party PAC [which fiercely defends its independence from external influences, local & national]
endorsed Christine ODonnell *of Delaware witchery fame+ and claimed to have been the first TPM-
entity to endorse last years major-disappointment, squish-Romney [of RomneyCare fame]; the issues
are far too serious in 2014 to allow for such sloppiness to undermine again the energy of the GOP-base.

What has emerged during the month of August, also, has been a recognition of which
people are more married to maintaining their power-positions than in advancing the
Conservative agenda; in this regard, its difficult to invoke Reagans 80% Rule *banking
on the concept that occasional deviations are acceptable]. Witness pure-frivolity from

the Wall St. Journal [Strassel: A Test of GOP Resolve], Americans for Prosperity and its
State Director [Jennifer Stefano+, and MSNBCs forever-strident/aloof Morning Joe
[carville reminds scarborough some conservatives dont consider him one of them].
Then entertain the contrast [of specificity, logic, and gravitas] captured in such pieces as
How to Defund ObamaCare, ObamaCare's 'Free' Benefits Not so Free, tell-the-house-to-
defund-ObamaCare, tea-party-to-rally-against-boehnercare-over-fight-to-defund-it, etc.

The goal of this first installment regarding ObamaCare has been to articulate what will be discussed by
the TPM-leadership of Bucks County on Tuesday-p.m., recognizing that all the establishment-types are
mustering their forces to disclaim worriment regarding such efforts; witness the recognition that key
G.O.P. Senators Cant Halt Tea Party Rivals and the nytimes claims that gop-senators-failed-to-head-off-
tea-party-rivals, while Politico defends establishment GOP senators from Tea Party primary challengers
as-just-an-expensive-headache, GOP's Ellmers Blasts Heritage Action over ObamaCare Funding Fight,
heritage-foundation-barred-from-weekly-conservative-meetings [ostensibly triggered by the Farm bill],
and republican-lawmakers-retaliate-against-heritage-foundation [actually intended to suggest that a
split in the conservative-world could suggest erosion of opposition to this strident defunding effort].

Hope that a meeting of the minds could be achieved intramurally was enhanced when
the following remarks by Bill Kristol emerged on FNCs Fox News Sunday on 8/11/2013
[corroborated via a transcript+: No, he is not focusing on shutting down the govern-
ment. Ted Cruz says, I want to pass a continuing resolution to keep open the rest of the
government. I think it was a little unwise to make defunding ObamaCare the lead
instead of delaying the key parts of it. But there's plenty of time for the two to come
together here. And I think Republicans by Labor Day are going to be in good shape on
this ObamaCare. And when Sarah Palin-Backed-Efforts-to-Defund-the Unaffordable-
Care-Act, it was not surprising that ofa promptly slammed her; such events prompt
members of the GOP to band-together. In any case, republicans and democrats-staked
their political-futures-on-the outcome of this tug-of-war [between the irresistible force
of passed-legislation and the immovable-object of the House initiating spending bills].

Noting significant problems with the roll-out [vide infra+, BHOs army has Tapped the 'Secretary of
Explaining Stuff' [Clinton] to sell this gigantic program to a public that remains in-opposition [Polls Show
Opposition to ObamaCare Is on the Rise Again] and may call upon OPRAH WINFREY to RESCUE it;
Sebelius wants to Pass Immigration to Boost ObamaCare Enrollment, and she claims 'A BRAND NEW DAY
IS COMING.' Meanwhile, enrollment has been promoted by gimmicks [HHS ObamaCare Video Contest],
state-level initiatives [California Launches $45 Million ObamaCare Publicity Campaign], and state-level
subterfuge [states-marketing-ObamaCare-with-other-names-to-bloster-enrollment]; as ObamaCares
Enroll-America has Targeted States-With-GOP-Governors, sycophants have been invoked [Ezra Klein
Tries, Fails to Defend Enroll America] to explain-away defects [particularly among youth]. Yet, deceit
inherent in this marketing plan [e.g., Will be 'cheaper than your cell phone bill'] proceeds unabated, as
BHO has Called Health Insurance a 'Right' and, indeed, that MLK-Jr. Would Have Backed ObamaCare;

THEREFORE, there is sufficient justification for SOMEONE to organize a convocation @
which these ideas can be productively exchanged, for a commonality of purpose is clear.
In my view [as a crash-course educated layperson], there is more than sufficient
justification to help the Syrian Kurdsif for no other reason than to help them serve as a
bulwark against Islamists; presumably, they could indeed help to attract those [Sunni,
Shiite, Christian] whom they have of-necessity vetted [to survive], so as to create a
Sahwa movement against Al Qaeda forces in Syria.
A summary of the major forces-at-play [Kurds Fighting Arab Muslim Fanatics In Northeast Syria] has
been updated following BHOs policy-reversal [The Consequences of President Obamas Challenge to
Assads Syria]; the conclusion of the latter is telling: *W+ithout a Syrian government in Exile composed
of moderate Sunnis, Alawites, Druze and Kurds backed by the US, UK, France and others, there is no

as UNHCR And WFP Chiefs Praised the Kurdistan Region For Sheltering Syrian Refugees. It is for this
reason that Kurds-could-hold-key-in-Syria. These essays mesh the views of Jerry Gordon, to wit:

Our position has generally been that a fully independent Kurdistan should be brought
about which would incorporate territory from Iraq and Turkey as well as Syria. Especially
now, when everything is in flux, there really is no reason not to press for more than just
a small Kurdish state in a federated Syria which is not a very likely outcome to begin
with. We think the Kurds need to be able to defend themselves and that requires a
Kurdish nation-state.

He also reports [and Sherkoh confirms+, sadly, that The US embassies in Turkey, Iraq, and Jordan are
not giving any visas to Kurds; however, many other Syrian MB-linked people are getting visas. They
lament the fact that The West has ignored the true forces of moderation in Syria - and millions do exist,
like the Kurds, some more tolerant Sunnis, some Christians, and Druze, for example, who begged for
support. Here is more information from Sherkoh, illustrating both the challenges he has faced as an
activist/advocate and the worriment he harbors regarding the future of his compatriots:

In 2011, John Kerry told me that Assad was a reformer who would bring democracy to
Syria. Now, Kerry and his boss are only chastising Assad when they should be taking
action against the war criminal. This marks the second time the secretary has exercised
poor judgment against Assad, and the people of Syria are paying for it with their blood.

Assad and his allies (Iran, KRG, PYD and PKK) are fighting Radical Islamists and their
allies in Syria (ISIS and al-Nusra. Assad is trying to convince the Kurds to support PYD as
the Representative of the Kurds while Islamists are recruiting Kurds to support
opposition Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaida groups. Assad wants to show the
international community that only he can keep the country unified, stop
ethnic/sectarian wars, ensure al-Qaeda does not obtain WMD (chemical and biological),
and fight infidels (Zionists, Americans and Kurds). It does appear unlikely, now, that he
will be able to maintain this faade after having engaged in chemical warfare.

Cemil Bayik of the PYD is the real military leader/commander of the PKK who
orchestrates what is happening in Syrian Kurdistan. He is also echoing Assad's argument
[amplified by Russia and China] that America is unjustifiably trying to split Syria and thus
create ethnic division between Arabs and Kurds. Other groups linked to al-Qaeda that
worked with Assad during the Iraq War convey the same message to Arabs (coordinated
by Assad/Iraq/Iran).

Meanwhile, opposition-rebels are trying to accuse the Kurds of being separatists,
supporters of the PYD, and even Assad supporters. They claim the PYD tried to split the
Kurdish Region from Syria (in coordination with Assad!) to create a quasi-independent
entity.

The Assad-PYD strategy has promoted 250,000 Kurds to move from Syrian Kurdistan.
More than 300,000 Kurds had become refuges (in Iraqi Kurdistan and Turkey) after less
than one year of PYD-control over Syrian Kurds. Indeed, why would having been
liberated trigger massive migration?

These views are also consistent with those of Henry Kissinger [Kissingers good option]:
Kissinger believes Syria should and will break up in some fashion indeed, the
independent-minded Kurds have already created a de facto state with a potent military,
the Druze have their own militias and Assads ruling Alawites, in preparation for a
retreat to their traditional homelands should they lose the civil war, have heavily
fortified Alawite territory. This break up, sooner rather than later, is Kissingers
preferred outcome yet the West is misguidedly acting to thwart it.

Interview with Mr. Sherkoh Abbas
As a US strike on Syria loomsbecause Washington appears determined to punish Syrias President
Bashar Al-Assad for the alleged use of chemical weaponsIsrael Today talks to Dr. Sherkoh Abbas, the
leader of the Kurdish National Assembly of Syria, currently residing in Washington. Knowing loyalists
throughout Syria and harboring connections to the Syrian and American authorities, we take his stance
on whether the attack is going to happen and what will happen when and if it does.

1. The US claims of a gas attack in the suburbs of Damascus on August 21
st
seem
suspicious, especially given the fact that the timing was perfect and also because
everyone still remembers Americans mistake in Iraq. What makes you think that they
are right this time?
Answer: I believe that the US administration has enough intelligence sources on the
ground to assess the situation accurately. As far as Iraq is concerned, it is still disputable.
Some say there were no nuclear weapons there; others claim they existed, but in limited
amounts. There are assumptions that the US was not quick enough because Iraqs late
leader Saddam Hussein managed to move some of his weapons to Syria. {see book by
General Sada (Saddams Secrets), which this physician has read, and note his
appearance on Comedy Central: General Georges Sada reports that he has seen Iraq's
weapons of mass destruction and they were transported to Syria. (7:41)}
The Assad regime definitely does possess chemical weapons and they have been used
previously although on a smaller scale. Having said that, I understand the claims that the
gas attack was suspicious. After all, the government forces were winning and it was
suicidal for them to use the weapons at the time that the UN inspectors were touring
the country investigating a similar case that took place in March. Assad knew that the
use of such weapons would trigger an attack against his government and he wouldnt
have wanted to risk his positions. And yet, its important to note that there are different
rivalry camps inside Assads government. This means that even if Assad himself didnt
order the release of the poisonous gas, it could have been somebody from his own
government.
Therefore, it doesnt really matter who used this weapons. Whats really important is
that it is there and the US has to intervene in order to destroy these arsenals and
prevent a situation where these weapons fall into the wrong hands. Its clear that the
regime is not capable of controlling these stockpiles.
2. Do you think that the lives of the minorities (including Kurds, Christians, Alawites, Druze
and others) would be any better if the regime is changed?
Answer: Although I think that the Assad regime has always been bad for minorities, I
also believe that what the US is doing right now, that is supporting the Sunni Muslims, is
totally wrong. Washington prefers to back such countries as Turkey and Qatar, both of
which support the Muslim Brotherhood, an organization deemed as terrorist by many
countries. I believe all ethnic groups and minorities in Syria should be given equal rights.
Syria should be divided into federal states where every state would have its own
constitution. Such a system could prove valuable for the US because those federal states
wouldnt be strong enough to oppose Washingtons policy. In other words, if Sunni
Muslims are marginalized they wont have enough power and therefore will not be able
to stage a war against US interests.
In fact, identical views have been expressed by former US Secretary of State Henry
Kissinger during his speech at the Ford School earlier this summer. He pointed out to the
fact that Syria was created artificially in 1920 in order to facilitate the control of the
country by France. He also stressed that because the country consists of so many
ethnic groups which are very antagonistic to each other US style elections are not

possible in Syria because every group votes for its own people [see article quoting Henry
KISSINGER].
3. Why does Washington support these extremists? Didnt they learn the lesson of
Afghanistan when armed militants of Al-Qaeeda started fighting Americans after those
helped them to get rid of the Russians?
Answer: The US is assured that splitting the country into federal states is problematic
because they prefer to have one government to talk to, instead of trying to maneuver
between the various regional players. But its also about the petro dollars. Lets not
forget who Washingtons regional allies are. These are the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and other Sunni majority states. They possess a
huge amount of dollars and thats why they can dictate how they want Syria to look like.
These countries dont want to see the independence of the Kurds or any other
minorities and ethnicities. Thats why President Obama is not capable of abandoning
this policy of backing political Islam. But this approach is destined to failure because it
will only embolden Iran and Syria.
4. Whats going to be President Assads reaction if (or when) Washington attacks?
Answer: President Assad cannot really do much. Washington and Moscow have already
reached an agreement on the issue. They agreed that the US will carry out a limited
strike against Syria because the US has gone too far and cannot afford itself to
backtrack. Russia and the Syrian government know which sites are going to be bombed
and so they are ready for the hit. The Syrian leader doesnt feel that the attack is going
to threaten his rule or overthrow him, thats why he is calm. Having said that, he already
started moving [the terrorist group] Hezbollah in Lebanon only because he wants to
change the focus and shift international attention away from Syria.
5. Does this mean that the World War III is not on the horizon?
Answer: I think that at least this time around WWIII will be avoided. At the same time, it
could burst out if the US despite giving assurances to Russia uses this opportunity of
a limited strike to topple the government. However, regional wars are still possible, they
can involve (partially or wholly) such countries as Iran, Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Israel. Of
course, Egypt, Tunisia and Libya are already going towards Syrian style civil war.
6. What about the Kurdish people? Does that mean that the dream of a state remains
remote?
Answer: One thing is for sure: Syria will never be the same again. Eventually, it is going
to turn into another Somalia or Afghanistan. But the Kurdish people will fight that.
Currently, the world powers ignore the desire of the Kurdish people to obtain
independence but I believe that the international community should reevaluate this
situation. The Kurdish people are the engine of democracy in the Middle East and we
deserve our own home.

The Iconoclast: The Consequences of President Obamas Challenge to Assads Syria

President Obama sought political cover when he announced Saturday, August 31, 2013, in a televised
broadcast from the White House Rose Garden that he was seeking authorization and support from
Congress for a limited military assault in Syria to confront the menace posed by Chemical Warfare
(CW) attacks on Syrian civilians. From polls taken this weekend the US is virtually divided. Thus,
whatever Congressional debate over authorization of President Obamas announced intent to punish
the Assad regime will doubtless allow more time for receipt and consideration of the results of the UN
inspection team.

Separately there were conflicting reports about the realities on the ground in Syria. Abigail Esman in an
Investigative Project, guest column, Bombing Into Unintended Consequences in Syria , drew attention
to the likely outcome of the proposed bombing, expansion of the Sunni supremacists.
Note these comments:

True, it is a proud and longstanding facet of the American psyche to intervene in the
face of human suffering, to protect the citizens of the world from the abuses of their
leaders. But the question Washington needs to consider as well is not just whether we
can afford another war with a still-struggling economy and a military exhausted by two
others. Nor is it simply whether we should be involving ourselves in a war against a
country that has brought no direct threat to the U.S. The bigger question is whether, in
Syria, we are ultimately aiding those who seek our destruction. Speaking to reporters for
The Hill recently, former Congressman Dennis Kucinich put it in the clearest possible
terms: "So what," he asked rhetorically, "we're about to become Al-Qaeda's air force
now?"

U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., has also expressed reservations, based in large part on his
own visit to Syria in February. "There were a number of people who came out of
Damascus to meet with me," he told me, "and conditions have only gotten worse since
then. You have brutal people involved and what if they got our weapons? How would
we control it all?"

The window of opportunity for safe involvement in Syria, he feels, closed about a year
ago. "Maybe two years ago we knew who the Free Syrian Army (FSA) was," he noted,
"but now we don't. Maybe the CIA does, but I certainly don't." That uncertainty, for
Wolf, is just a part of what makes the stakes so high. "It takes just two hours to drive
from Jerusalem to Damascus," he said. "Now Jordan is in trouble. There are bombings in
Lebanon. Egypt is in crisis. Syria is falling apart. What a war we'd be facing

Contrast this with the myopic piece by Elizabeth O'Bagy: On the Front Lines of Syria's Civil War, which
appears to follow the Obama Administration line that bombing may help the FSA with Saudi supplied
weapons to create enclaves that would protect the various ethnic and religious minorities. This despite
the inchoate attempts to establish an internal and exile opposition coalition. OBagy who is a senior
analyst at The Institute for the Study of War bases her assessment on observations of what is occurring
on the ground in Syria. Based on her investigations in the field in Syria she concludes:

Where does this leave the U.S. as the White House contemplates a possible strike? The
Obama administration has emphasized that regime change is not its goal. But a punitive
measure undertaken just to send a message would likely produce more harm than good.
If the Syrian government is not significantly degraded, a U.S. strike could very well
bolster Assad's position and highlight American weakness, paving the way for continued
atrocities.

Instead, any U.S. action should be part of a larger, comprehensive strategy coordinated
with our allies that has the ultimate goal of destroying Assad's military capability while
simultaneously empowering the moderate opposition with robust support, including
providing them with anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapon systems. This should be
combined with diplomatic and political efforts to first create an international coalition
to put pressure on Assad and his supporters, and then working to encourage an intra-
Syrian dialogue. Having such a strategy in place would help alleviate the concerns of key
allies, like Britain, and ensure greater international support for U.S. action.

The U.S. must make a choice. It can address the problem now, while there is still a large
moderate force with some shared U.S. interests, or wait until the conflict has engulfed
the entire region. Iran and its proxies will be strengthened, as will al Qaeda and
affiliated extremists. Neither of these outcomes serves U.S. strategic interests.

However, there are overarching consequences of the proposed bombing campaign by the US in Syria.
One is unleashing a more dire threat alluded to in President Obama alluded to in his White House Rose
Garden announcement, Assads using Biological Warfare (BW). Dr. Jill Bellamy van Aalst, an expert on
Syrias BW noted in an opinion article for Israel Hayom , the immediate threat to Americas only
reliable ally in the conflict zone, Israel: Are Biological Weapons Next on Assads Agenda?:

Assad's use of chemical weapons should serve as a wake-up call on his ability to use
highly portable and devastating biological warfare agents. National security echelons in
Washington should view this as an important message.

Given Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks this past weekend, Israel knows
that use of both chemical and biological weapons by the Assad regime represents a
clear and present danger. If Assad is capable of using chemical weapons near Damascus,

he is equally as capable of launching biological weapons, which pose a global pandemic
threat. After increasing evidence of a mass-casualty chemical weapons attack in Syria,
the international community no longer has the luxury of standing by and seeing what is
next on Assad's weapons-of-mass-destruction agenda.

An area that perhaps, Ms. O'Bagy didnt visit was the Kurdish heartland in Syrias northeast that is
teetering on the break of a major humanitarian disaster because of al-Qaeda threats and conflicting
divisions among the Syrian Kurdish leadership. Kurds have fled in the hundreds of thousands to the
adjacent Kurdish Region in Iraq. Robert Sklaroff and Sherkoh Abbas (see our interview with Abbas in
the June 2012 NER Will There Be Room for Kurds and Other Minorities in a Post-Assad Syria) noted this
in an article published this weekend in the blog Israpundit, The Kurds Can Lead a Reborn Syria, At Peace
with ALL of Her Neighbors.

They noted:

American ships are rushing to the Levant, presumably preparing to launch a bombing-
campaign in reaction to the mass-gassing that Assad again directed at his citizenry.
Although pundits could analyze the reasons forand consequences ofthe delay of
this effort, it is only necessary to get into the weeds far enough to identify how a
coalition of the willing can quickly be assembled to stop the slaughterand to build a
stable, peaceful Syrian society. The Kurds have been issuing humanitarian appeals to the
international community to save the Syrian Kurds, but it seems their plight is finally
being heardor maybe not!

Minority ethnic and religious groups hope to create a secular democratic federal
republic led by secular Sunni Kurds, Arabs, Alawi moderates, Christians, Druze, and
Turkmen. Kurds played a substantial role as Syria gained independence from France.
Inasmuch as they are the countrys second largest ethnic group, the Kurds can play a
very positive, democratic role in forging its future.

Those who claim that there is only one choice in this matter (arming Assad or the
Rebels) must be helped to view the conflict within a larger context. Opposition is not
homogeneous. Urgently acting upon humanitarian concerns could dovetail with the
need to help long-term friends of the United States who can be depended upon to help
others build a modern Syria. The Syrian Kurds could be the leading contingent in a post-
Assad Syria and deserve our help.

Ms. O'Bagy's comments belie the tragedy unfolding in Syria's Northeast-the heartland of the country's
Kurds. Division among Kurdish factions and the presence of Al Qaida fighting units have driven hundreds
of thousands into the sanctuary of adjacent Iraqi Kurdish Region. There is a looming humanitarian crisis
that Kurds will likely face this winter, as the civil war has deprived them of cultivation of the bread
basket of Syria in their northeastern enclave. Moreover, that is also where Syria's oil reserves are
located.

There is vastly more catastrophic Biological Warfare (BW) threat and the ease by which the Assad could
transfer pathogens to terrorist proxy Hezbollah. Think of Iranian supplied drones already in the
possession of Hezbollah making a swarming attack on Israel with releases of pandemic pathogens.

gear in Syria's south. However, without a Syrian government in Exile composed of moderate Sunnis,
Alawites, Druze and Kurds backed by the US, UK, France and others there is no future for Syria.

Where is the future for Syria? Perhaps one should revert to the past under the French Mandate when
Syria had a weak central government with ethnic semi-autonomous provinces.

But the aftermath of a possible strike on Syria's meager air assets and command and control echelons

weeks end, a message that will be conveyed to him by a lifelong personal friend who was in-attendance
[and who was given hard-copies of memos CXXI & CXXII to be conveyed to Mike, so that he will have
been provided informed consent regarding the specific provisions of ObamaCare that are unnerving].
Diplomatically, a vigorous exchange of ideas occurred for more than two hours; the attendees names
have been suppressed [because no formal action was taken], and it is noted that the Independence Hall
Tea Party Association/PAC was the only regional TPM-oriented group that declined our invitation.



We have been fervent supporters of Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick for years, having
provided time, cognition and money to this honest civil servant. Yet, he has not yet
agreed to oppose financing ObamaCare through the Continuing Resolution, for
whatever reason[s]. He is threatening to undermine the energies expended by his
base, which has provided the door-knocking component that underlies his
achievements; indeed, the intensity of the national effort even extends to plans to
primary each Republican who attempts to forget that If you fund it, you own it!
There is no further information available that will affect any effort to strategize
regarding this issue. We therefore hope that Mike will announceimmediatelythat
he recognizes the acute dangers of Big Government that ObamaCare would cement
into American life and specifically pledge to oppose funding ObamaCare on
each/every vote that he will take throughout the rest of his current term.

What is being requested of Mike [in lieu of approval of the above-resolution for formal dissemination]
would be a Press Release stating that he has announced he will not vote for any bill/resolution
(including a Continuing Resolution) without ensuring that it appropriates 0 monies for ObamaCare;
also, we would wish that he would formally announce having signed the Cruz/Lee Heritage-Action
Petition [www.dontfundobamacare.com] being disseminated in the Capitol by Senate Republicans
[which a million-plus have now signed]. We reminded Mikes friend of multiple recent events which,
individually and in the aggregate, suggest that the adverse effects of ObamaCare have been emerging.
We are thrilled that rep-fitzpatrick-gave-the-gop-address this past Saturday, and we suspect that he is

already prompted British Health Care Predictably to start Running Out Of Money, and we do not blink
when Unions now claim Obama & Democrats are to Blame if Jobs & ObamaCare causes Insurance Loss.
Recapping the strategy, it is advised that the following Parliamentary Procedure can be used.



HR 2009 *Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act of 2013+ was passed by the House and
could be appended to the CR covering the Treasury Department; HR 2300 *Empowering
Patients First+ could be appended to the CR covering the Health and Human Services
Department; the remaining eight departments could then be amalgamated into one CR
and passed [thereby envisioned to be passed by the Senate and signed by the POTUS].
In this fashion, the GOP would not be portrayed as the Party of NO! because it
would have adopted [and funded] its alternative-plan, and the GOP would not be
portrayed as having shut down government because it would have upheld its duties
[per the Constitution, Article I, Section 7] to originate government-funding bills.

chronic import, it is to have channeled the effort to redo the intramural autopsy performed after the

Consider the status of Sarah Palin, who is attacked predictably from the left [tell-alaska-
dont-send-sarah-palin-to senate] and the right [Kristol On Palin: I Dont Think She Has a
Future]; meanwhile, Sarah PALIN commented ON a SENATE RUN: 'NEVER SAY NEVER.'
This explains why After 100-plus years, Dems catch GOP in Delco, why the grand-old-
party-is about-to go-boom, and why Jim Ryun claimed Mitch McConnell's dinosaur GOP
can't fix DC; it also explains the longevity of the Republican Assemblies, which claim the
status as being the true Republicans within the Republican Party. Yet, pessimists are not
permitted admission to this debate, for *facetiously, playing-on an opposite claim]
rush limbaugh revealed what many democrats are privately telling him of the Ds travail.

Driven to exasperation, some have asked the Dear GOP to Give Me a Reason to Stay when such as
Petition as has been generated herein is answered by an announcement that the rnc-launched-
obamacarecosts.org-to-inform-voters-and to hold-2014-democrats-accountable; the GOP hierarchy
cannot deny that its nearly impossible to wean Americans from entitlements, and yet they will be
more than eager to play-politics with the future of the United States. Although the-new-york-times-
asked-how-did-corporate-america-lose-control-of-the-republican-party, the base notes revelation that
Early big winners of ObamaCare [investors, lawyers, consultants, tech experts] are not exclusively Ds;
this may explain why Jennifer Stefano *presumably channeling Americans for Prosperity+ has argued
against defunding without having offered a cogent alternative [presumably a member of the-meatloaf-
caucus]. Hearing Bill-clinton-sell-obamacare by calling-for-bipartisan-efforts-to-fix-problems-with-the-
unpopular-law may prompt the GOP to claim sorry-mr-clinton, obamacare is-beyond-repair, but the
base views such exclamations as just as ineffective politically as are self-serving complaints from unions
[e.g., AFL-CIO President Trumka: Employers Cut Workers to 29 Hours to Avoid ObamaCare].

Consider why the base feels played, for it is fed limited-info intended to disarm it
from full-throttle action [e.g., insiders-saying-speaker-boehners-done-after-2014 and
even rand-paul claiming boehner-speakership-in-jeopardy-over-immigration-reform];
here, achievement [e.g., the 2010 electoral sweep, the fact that TEA PARTY GRIT SAVED
NATION HALF-TRILLION IN NEW DEBT] is ignored and, instead, its heroes are primaried
[bentivolio-gets-a-primary-challenger]. This is why it issues a call-to-action, provoked by
observing when-mccain-and-flake-hold-another-staged-town-hall-farce, and this is why

some choose to abandon the GOP and, thereby, risk swinging elections to Ds *e.g.,
Libertarians Dividing the GOP, and Libertarian with Little Money Could Spoil Cuccinelli
Campaign]. Thus, they can only groan when Sebelius describes the federal government

Those who want to work within the party to win the battle for the heart of the GOP nod approvingly
when Joe Wilson Accuses BHO Of Pushing a Syria Strike To Distract From Benghazi and ObamaCare;
cheer when tennessee tea partiers say theyre going rino hunting and us sen lamar alexander is their
target; and encourage Tea Partiers who have Hit Lindsey Graham for Reluctance to Defund ObamaCare
[n.b., LEE BRIGHT: GRAHAM 'A PINATA' ON VULNERABLE ISSUES]; the South Carolina race is perceived as
a test-case which parallels a national trend towards contested primary elections that will attract the
passion of Establishment GOPers [cross-posted at RedState and at The Madison Project]. In the interim,
as jack lew keeps claiming BHO will negotiate-over-government-funding [but, alas, not the debt limit],
house-conservatives prep-fiscal-fights and look ahead [Tea Party vs. GOP Battle Shaping Up for 2016].

Into this volatile intramural environment steps the fervent effort to defund ObamaCare; although the
Ds claim the Rs threaten to provoke a government shutdown, the Rs want to shut-down-ObamaCare,
but not government. Surprisingly, this message has not been heard by other in-the-know Republicans,
ignorance that is manifest when it is claimed efforts to defund ObamaCare could yield a government-
shutdown [per tom-coburn, who should know better]. Sadly, it seems documentation [e.g., Obamacare-
Increases-Tax-Rates-12-Times-More-Than-Romneycare] resonates insufficiently, even after portrayed
both in prose and in posters [e.g., all two-dozen ObamaCare Fact posters are available for review].

Consider how hollow-sounding are the typical press-releases claiming a congressman
has brought home the bacon *e.g., Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick (R., Bucks), surrounded by
SEPTA officials, announced Wednesday a $10 million federal grant to add a third track to
a commuter-rail and freight corridor in southeastern Bucks County] or has composed an
op-ed critical of BHO [e.g., rep-gerlach-assails-president-obama-in-op-ed]. On the other
hand, consider how much more satisfying it is when opposition to BHOs misadventure
is announced [e.g., fitzpatrick-claims critical-questions-remain-unanswered-on syria],
particularly as Tea Party Groups Nationwide Unite Against American Attack on Syria.
Confronted with the specter of a lawless POTUS influenced by the Muslim Brotherhood,
and a White House planning to spend another $12m promoting ObamaCare, many of
those who are most aware of these trends are manifesting pure-angst.

This is why the propitious arrival of Heritage Action has been so well-received; for example, in Dallas,
when Ted Cruz handled having been interrupted twice by hecklers with tact, grace and wit, the reaction
was electric. This is why Heritage Actions last of nine health care town hall meetings in Wilmington,
Delaware attracted a SRO-crowd, as Rafael Cruz [Texas pastor and father of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)] and
Heritage Foundation Pres. Jim DeMint continued their efforts to defund the health care law. This is why
heritage action claims sen-coburn-is fighting-a-straw-man, as it views the over-reaction to its advent as
mischaracterized [stirring-the-base-and-alienating-erstwhile allies]; quotations from competing-egos are
particularly entertaining [as is revelation of the vacuous ObamaCare plan propounded by Boehner],
recognizing how the authors liberal-bias subtly emerges via a segue into imbalanced negativity [citing
unnamed critics+ and how the Rs would be blamed for any purported government shutdown, to wit:

Representatives of the advocacy arm are traveling the country in an attempt to pressure
lawmakers to vote against funding the government in the new fiscal year unless the bill
also halts spending for ObamaCare. Top GOP aides believe the proposal has little chance
of success and is likely to backfire.

Boehner has promoted a different strategy aimed at challenging House Democrats to
take a stand on controversial parts of the health-care law in a series of votes.

lecture on 9/3/2013 by Congressman Jim Traficant on the Department of Agriculture [presented by the
Harrisburg Liberty Alliance]; levity often provides a refreshing respite. Ultimately, the base is simply
eager to apply [overseas] reagans-rules-for-military-action and [domestically] Lawrence Reeds iteration
of Seven Principles of Sound Public Policy, lest America [and its economic system] collapse; it views the
upcoming conflicts [with establishment-Rs and statist-Ds+ with trepidation, but with steely resolve.
