STORAGE

Before use of spandex yarn, we recommend 24-hour acclimatization period in the workroom of
production site and box should be kept open to equilibrium with the environment. his reduces yarn
breaka!e and will obtain the peak efficiency.
"ormally in warehouse #pandex yarn should be stored in its packin!. he packin! protects the spandex
yarn a!ainst the effects of li!ht, $% li!ht, "&x !as and other pollutants.
he temperature in the stora!e room should ran!e between 4 and 2'()* relative air humidity should be
minimum +,- and maximum .,-. /f the room is too dry or too warm, the normally very !ood
processin! 0roperties of spandex yarn may deteriorate. /f the temperature is too low, elasticity becomes
low. his ne!ative effect increases proportionally to the time the yarn is stored under unfavorable
conditions. 1dequate stora!e conditions are most for perfect processability.
2arns and ready-made articles containin! spandex should be stored in suitable packin!. he climatic
conditions should be the same as for the stora!e of the bobbins.
#helf life of spandex from production date

3he shelf life of spandex yarn could be chan!ed by storin! conditions.
he quality of products will be affected for a lon!-term stora!e. /t is better to adopt the mana!ement
system first in first out - the products enterin! warehouse first shall be used first
HANDLING
4on5t use sharp tools to remove or unseal external packin! of products
he spandex cones shall be handled with care to avoid dama!e durin! mountin!, the cones shall be
protected from web-line or slou!h-off resulted from scratch, or the product quality would be impaired.
6hen fetchin! spandex, don5t catch or touch the yarn reel 7/t will cause yarn to break and fall off8
below 20de 6 months
30de & 40de 8 months
over 70de 1 year
6hen loadin! the spandex bobbins to your machine, please check whether there is
undesirable curled form.
he system of loadin! spandex yarn on circular knittin! machines is as,
USAGE
9ach box carries :ot number. 4on;t mix lot numbers and use. #pandex with different
specifications or different lot numbers would have different physical properties and
they shall not be mixed in use, otherwise width variation or wrinkles of fabric would
occur.
/n case of warp knittin!, it is classified by set number. 4o not mix set numbers.
/t is su!!ested that spandex with the same wei!ht bobbins should be used for stricter
requirements.
4urin! use of spandex, the environmental temperature and <= 7<elative =umidity8
shall be kept stable and the optimal environmental temperature and <= is 2>?> and
@>-?>- respectively.
$se within a proper draft ratio of #pandex. 9xcessive hi!h draft ratio would result in
breakin! durin! processin! and weavin! and impair product quality. he optimal draft
ratio for 4,4 and ',4 is A+.> times. 6ith a speed B>,, meterCminute of )overin!
2arn, the draft ratio should be A+., times.
he set of twisted yarn should reach the covera!e rate of spandex to the optimum.
state.
#pandex should be kept at a proper feed tension* spandex yarn shall be kept in the
moderate state. /t is recommended that the best state of tension shall be controlled to
DCD, denier 7by the !ram8 or spandex would break and dull bar would occur on fabric
durin! knittin!.
he yarn nozzle and sinkin! point shall be lessened for the yarn feedin! device of
spandex and the yarn wheel shall be furnished.
here shall be active conveyin! appliance for the spandex yarn and spandex in use
shall be of the same size.
1void hi!h temperature and hi!h speed. #ince the wire loop is easy to !et linty and
woolly !rain, it needs to be replaced re!ularly.
Eor bleachin! of spandex blended fabric, the consumption of bleachin! a!ent shall. 1s
a rule, be reduced and no chlorine bleachin! a!ent shall be allowed 7if chlorine
bleachin! a!ent can5t be avoided, 1nit-chlorine #pandex is recommended8. he
blended fabric with cotton shall be bleached with hydroperoxide under atmospheric
pressure and with less alkaline.
4urin! finishin!, the temperature for dry heat-settin! and wet heat-settin! shall not
exceed D.> and D2> respectively and the time for dry heat-settin! and wet heat-
settin! shall be 2>-+> seconds and ,.> hour respectively.
"oteF he heat-settin! temperature in finishin! is dependent on model of settin! machine,
size of the yarn and modality of the yarn in fabrics, which shall be decided throu!h test on
the basis of D., and D2, for dry heat-settin! and wet heat-settin! respectively.
