Subject: Teaching Listening Skills And Speaking Skills
Skills: Listening Skills
Level: Students of 6 to 8 class
Strength: 20 students
Time: 30 minutes
Material: 10 Number-cards (1-10) and NOUN worksheet.
Procedure:
Give introduction to the students about NOUN. Make 10 groups of 20 students. Each
group should be given separate number (1 to 10). Now make students understand, that they
have to listen to the sentence uttered by teacher. When teacher call any number, group of
that number has to write nouns on the paper, used in that particular sentence. Mark
students on correct answers give reward to the winning group.
Now teacher should stand behind all students and read one sentence, written on the paper,
loudly so that it is audible to each group. Now teacher may call any number randomly. Time
of one minute should be given to the group to write nouns mentioned in sentence.
Note: Teacher should stand behind all students while reading particular sentence and call
number after reading sentence so that every group should listen to it carefully and with
interest.

Skills: Speaking Skills and Writing skills
Level: Intermediate
Strength: 10 students
Time: 40 min
Material: 5 dialogue-pictures sheets

Procedure: Make students understand that they have to work in groups on dialogue
sheets, which have pictures with empty dialogue boxes. They have to consider
themselves as characters and fill the dialogue boxes with in given time and afterwards,
each group also has to perform dialogue in front of the class.
Distribute sheets in the groups and give them 10 min to fill the dialogue boxes
according to situation shown in pictures. When time is up, call each group randomly and
ask them to perform the dialogue in the class. Mark students according to efforts they
have made and reward them for encouragement.
Note: You may distribute same sheet to all groups, so that to observe different ideas
of students about same situation.
Skills: Listening Skills and speaking skills.
Level: Foundation
Strength: 15 to 20 students
Time: 30 minutes

Material: Big toy box, which contains 27 different toys whose names start with
different English Alphabet letters (A to Z).

Procedure: Teacher has to utter loudly, any English Alphabet letter randomly and
then will randomly call name of any student. Then that student, whose name is
called, will run and try to find the toy in the box, whose name is starting with that
particular letter, which the teacher has uttered, in given time lets say in 1 min, for
example. When student finds the toy, he or she has to call the name of that toy and
whole class will repeat after him or her.

Note: This activity can also include writing skills if student is asked to come back
to his or her seat and write name of that toy on given page.
Skills: Speaking skills .
Level: Intermediate or Higher level.
Strength: 10 students.
Time: One or Two days.
Material: Choose topic for social awareness. For example Global Warming. Post
discussion questionnaire and voice recorder.

Procedure: In this activity students have to go to the people of different ages
(children, youngsters and aged) and discuss with them information about topic
Global Warming. After completing discussion they will have to give chance to the
people, if they want to ask any question about topic. After entertaining questions,
now student will give questionnaire to be filled by people to whom topic was
discussed. The most important is that they have to record their discussion and
question answer conversation so that to submit it to the teacher.
This will enhance the ability of students to communicate with people of
different ages and convey their information in better way.
Questionnaire may contain different questions according to level of people.
Teacher should listen to the audio records to judge efforts made by
students and should mark them accordingly.
