NAMING CONCEPT
By decision of the ITS top management the SPMT
developed a new concept for the AVL software Suite.
This includes a naming concept as well as definition of
the life cycle of the Suite. This concept was agreed on
May 5th 2009 and is valid from this date.
The naming concept takes several boundary conditions
into account defined by the messages that shall be
transported:
Make it easy for customers to know which products
fit together
Keep value of product brands
Emphasize system approach
The name for the IndiCom version that will be released
in October 2009 will be
AVL IndiCom 2010

CHANNEL BROWSER
Channel Filter Set
Allows users to assign channel filter criteria to a set of filters and save them
under a definable name. The defined channel filter sets can be activated
quickly via the channel filter list
Data Point Filter
Via the Data Point Filter option in a datasets context menu you can filter
out the data points from a long measurement that are relevant for an
evaluation. This function is useful e.g. in cases where the measurement
has several curves which then need to be evaluated individually. You can
now define a filter for the data key that returns only those records from all
channels in which the value of the curve channel is 1. Data point filters are
are ideally suited for control channels which contain the relevant curve
numbers (or phase, mode, cycle, etc.). It is then possible to filter by these
data points.
Dataset Display
Datasets which are shown in any form in the current diagram window are
now marked in Channel Browser by the corresponding formatting.
Modifying Graphics Attributes
Via the context auto toolbar of Channel Browser you can modify the
graphics attributes in one step in all tests and across the entire layout.
Changes made at the file/test level will affect all displayed datasets of the
selected test, at the channel/dataset level these will affect all displayed
datasets of the same name.

GigaBit SUPPORT FOR INDIMODUL & INDISMART
The GigaBit device family is now completed with
IndiModul and IndiSmart. All new devices are
delivered with IndiCom 2010. For more detailed
information of the devices click on the pictures on
the left.

RAW DATA STREAMING
Raw Data Streaming is now available both on
a time and angle basis. This allows users to
also measure the time data in Streaming
mode.
Benefits:
Parallel streaming of time- and
crankanglebased raw data
enables to perform realtime calculation
of results on the PC (SoftRTP)
save time because on measurement
completion all data have already been
transferred to the PC
new measurement solutions to record
all the necessary information
Only fo GigaBit systems!!

COLD START MEASUREMENT
In this mode, normal angle-based parameters are
automatically converted internally into time values and
measured. This way all signals involved in the cold start
process are available as time-based data which are then
also converted into an angle-based IFile. During the
measurement, the time-based signals are plotted over
angle base using a fast macro.
Benefits:
Measurement of effects happening already before first
engine rotation (e.g. battery voltage drop)
Data file with time- and crank angle based information
of all measured channels
No need of complicated time to crank angle
conversion after the measurement
Online display of raw data and calculation results for
fast engine start evaluation
Only fo GigaBit systems!!

SIMULTANEOUS EVENT RECORDING
In this mode, if the Normal measurement mode is
selected, a measurement can be saved to a
separate file after an event has occurred. This has
the advantage that the event measurement takes
place regardless of normal test bed operation.
Simultaneous measurements (single-, snapshot-
or PUMA measurements) are not affected by this.
Benefits:
Execution of two measurement at the same
time
Generation of separate measurement file for
easy data access
Capturing of events on cyclic basis even
during averaged measurements takes place
Measurement 1
Event 1 Event 2 Event 3
Only fo GigaBit systems!!

SNAPSHOT MEASUREMENT
In order to record events that occur suddenly, this
can now also be triggered very simply by pressing the
space bar. This measurement is possible in all
measuring variants with Streaming and Monitoring
and is independent of other measurements. A
separate file (BackgroundFile) is created with a
definable name and path.
Benefits:
Capture of events even without defining an
event in the parameters
Measurement of unpredictable events
No disturbance of ongoing measurements
Easy data handling by saving a separate file
Only fo GigaBit systems!!

MEASUREMENTS TRIGGERED VIA HARDWARE
For special applications in test bed operation a
measurement can be started via an external
signal (e.g. via Digital In). This enables users to
save data in sync with such an external signal.
As of PUMA Open 2010 it is possible to perform
real-time measurements using the function Bit-
controlled measurement series.
Benefits:
Triggering a measurement via external
surface feeler (e.g. two wheeler
application)
Triggering of measurements via external
Bits for synchronization of different
measurement systems
Support for Puma 2010 real time
measurement
Only fo GigaBit systems!!

SENSOR ADMIN
The additional program Sensor Admin can be called
via the Utilities option in the workflow bar.
Sensor Admin serves for sensor administration in an
Access database. When setting the parameters for
the amplifiers in IndiCom you can take over the
respective sensors calibration data automatically
from this database.
With Sensor Admin you can add new sensors,
delete old ones, make required adjustments and
display the sensitivity of the individual calibrations
over time as a trend.

DATA COMPRESSION
IFiles can now be compressed automatically
(xxx.zip). For this purpose, the Compress file
(zip) check box under General tab under
Extras | Pre-Sets Data Storage has to be
activated.

INCA INTERFACE
IndiCom 2010 is fully integrated into the
calibration software INCA. The Open
Hardware Interface (OHI) from ETAS is used
to communicate between IndiCom & INCA.
Benefits:
Measurement control from INCA
Data exchange from IndiCom to INCA
Synchronization of time based INCA data
& crank angle based IndiCom data
Usage of IndiCom for thermodynamic
online calulation of indicating parameters
Advanced data post processing in
Concerto (MDF & IFile)
Fast data check in IndiView (substitute of
MDA)

ENHANCEMENTS
Copy Object Attributes
The toolbar button Format Brush can be used to apply object
attributes (color, line width, line type, marker, label, font) of a
given object to other objects of the same type. If the user
selects a target object by right-click, a context menu will open
showing a selection of the attributes to be copied. If the target
object is selected by left-clicking it, all attributes will be copied.
Scale Range Property "Interval Rounded
The functionality Interval Rounded was reactivated for the
scale range settings. By deactivating this setting it is now
possible to define an exact scale range without causing the grid
spacing to be rounded.
Extensions to CA Processor / 4CA1 CA calculator
The Double Gap Mode allows users to use double-gap disks.
The Delay Compensation for Inductive Sensors function can
be used to compensate for the speed-dependent delay of
inductive sensors.
