Specimen Orientation The values listed in Table 5.3 are the minimum acceptable values for forgings and wrought products tested in the trans- verse direction and for castings and weld qualifications. The materials manu- facturer shall document foundry practices which establish limits for sand control, core making, rigging and melting to ensure repeatability in producing castings which meet the requirements of this speci fi cation. PSL 1 Requirements All wrought material(s) shall be of pressure vessel quality and shall be formed using a hot working practice(s) which produces a wrought structure throughout. b. PSL 2-4 Requirements PSL 1 requirements shall also apply. The materials manu- facturer shall document .hot working practices. 5.4.3.3 Melting Practices a. PSL 2- 3 Requirements The manufacturer shall select and specify its melting practices for all body, bonnet, and end and outlet connector material. b. PSL 4 Requirements PSL 2- 3 requirements shall apply. The manufacturer shall document the actual melting practice utilized. 5.4.4 Heat Treating 5.4.4.1 Equipment Qualification All heat treatment operations shall be performed utilizing equipment qualified in accordance with the requirements specified by the manufacturer. Appendix H of this specifica- tion provides recommendations for heat treating equipment qualification. 5.4.4.2 Temperatures a. PSL 1- 3 Requirements Tune at temperature and temperature level for heat treat- ment cycles shall be determined in accordance with the man- ufacturer's specification.
