During menu operation, press MENU key or REDIAL key
to quit the current setting and get back to the last menu
Any setting procedure should be confirmed by pressing
ENTER key except for storing of repertory key
When using phone book, redial and call back, you can
dial the number on the display by ENTER key

Microphone
For your safety and protection, the phone should not be used in bath-
rooms or shower rooms (wet rooms). The phone is not splash-proof.
The phone should only be disposed of in an environmentally friendly
manner.
Never give the Siemens 2025 to a third party without the operating
instruction.

Insert the short end of the coiled handset cable into the slot provided on
the handset. Insert the long end of the cable into the slot marked with the
symbol on the underside of the device. Insert the telephone cable
into the wall socket and insert the other end into the slot marked with the
symbol on the underside of the device. Your telephone is now ready
for operation.

Getting started
A callers number will only appear on the display and calls will only be
saved in the call list if batteries have been inserted.
If no batteries have been inserted, or the battery charge is critically low,
the symbol appears on the display when the handset is lifted.
Before inserting or removing the batteries, disconnect the telephone cord
from the wall socket or from the phone itself.
Only use 1.5V AA type alkaline batteries, as specified!
1. Slide off the battery compartment cover from the edge of the base of
the housing. (see diagram on Page 4)
2. Insert the batteries (1.5V Type AA alkaline) into the battery compart-
ment in accordance with the polarity symbol (+/-).
3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

Setting the area code
With setting the correct area code, the local call can be called back.
Otherwise, in some areas, the function of calling back for local calls can
not be used normally.
Press MENU key.
Press UP and DOWN key until AREA CODE
appears on the display, then press ENTER key.
Enter the area code (Example: 030). Then press
ENTER key to save the setting and quit.
Press MENU key.
Press UP and DOWN key until SET TIME appears
on the display, then press ENTER key.
Input current date and time, the format as follows:
Month / day / hour / minute.
For example: current time is 23:42, 21th April,
Please input 04, 21, 23, 42.
04/21 23 :42 will appear on the dispaly. If
you input wrong values, VALUE INVALID will
be displayed. In this situation, you have to input again.
Press ENTER key to save the setting and quit.

Basic setting
Setting the dialling mode
The dialling mode of your telephone must be set to DTMF (dual-tone multi-
frequency signalling) or DP (dial pulsing) (depending on the dialling mode of
the local Telecom Bureau) before you put it into service.
Your telephone is set to dual-tone multifrequency signalling by default.
Checking:
Lift the handset (or press the SPEAKER key ).
Dial any digit. If you cant hear the dial tone, you
must change over to the other dialling method.
Setting:
Press MENU key.
Press UP and DOWN key until PHONE SETUP
appears on the display, then press ENTER key.
DIAL MODE:T will appear on the display.
Use UP and DOWN key to select.
DIAL MODE:T dual-tone multifrequency
signalling
DIAL MODE:P dial pulsing
Press ENTER key to save the setting.

Hearing and being heard
There are: 7 volume settings for ringer. (factory setting: 7)
3 settings for the frequency (speed) of ringer. (factory setting: 3)
10 different melodies for ringer. (factory setting: melody 0)
Setting while the telephone is in standby:
Lift the handset, then press MENU key.
Press UP and DOWN key until RING MELODY
appears on the display, then press ENTER key.
You will hear the ringer.
1.Use HIGH and LOW key to set the ringer
volume. (For example: level 3)
0/S
2.Use UP and DOWN key to set the ringer
frequency.
F = Fast
M = Middle
S = Slow
(For example: middle frequency)
0/M
3.Use 0-9 to set the ringer melody.
(For example: melody 7)

Press ENTER key to save the setting.
Setting while the telephone is ringing:
You can directly set the values with the above
keys without LCD display.

appears on the display, then press ENTER key.

appears on the display, then press ENTER key.

Dialling call numbers
Lift the handset.
Dial the call number.
Any digit following the 14th digit are shifted from right to left on the display.
A pause (2s) can be inserted by pressing (a pause should not occur
as the first element in a call number).

When off-hook:
Lift the handset.
Press repertory key.

The last number dialled is redialled.
Last 5 number redial (32 digits max.)
Press REDIAL key when on-hook.
or Use UP and DOWN or REDIAL key until the
unreceived call appears on the display.
Press ENTER key. The number which you select
will be dialled by using handsfree function.
When on-hook:
Press repertory key.
(If the entry is empty, EMPTYwill appear on the
display)
Press ENTER key to dial the number with
handsfree function.

Dialling call numbers
Handset on-hook.
Dial the call number.
Press ENTER key. The number displayed will be
automatically dialled by using handsfree function.
Pre-dialling
Mute function
You are conducting a call.
Press MUTE key. The microphone, handset
and loudspeaker are switched off. The status is
indicated on the display. You can consult with
colleagues in the room without the other party
listening in.
If you press MUTE key again, the microphone,
handset and loudspeaker are switched on again.
Activating/deactivating handsfree talking
Your telephone is equipped with a loudspeaker and an additional
handsfree talking microphone (front right). This means that you can
make calls when the handset is on-hook.
Activating handsfree talking in the course of a call:
You are conducting in a call via the handset.
Press SPEAKER key, hold it depressed and
replace the handset. Handsfree talking is activated.
Activating handsfree talking before dialling the number:
Press SPEAKER key until the display appears.
Handsfree talking is activated.
Deactivating handsfree talking:
Lift the handset in the course of a call. Handsfree
talking is deactivated.

Dialling call numbers
Your telephone is equipped with a loudspeaker which can be used to
allow other persons in the room to listen in on a call.
You are conducting a call.
Press SPEAKER key.
Open listening is activated or deactivated.
(depening on the inital status)
Notes:
If the loudspeaker is switched on and the handset is off-hook, you are
automatically in open listening mode. The built-in handsfree microphone
is deactivated.
If the loudspeaker is switched on and the handset is on-hook, the
telephone is in handsfree talking mode via the built-in handsfree
microphone.
Temporary changeover of dialling mode
You are conducting a call.
Press STAR key.
The dialling mode is set to DTMF signalling.
You can now enter digits for remote control/data
transfer.
When the handset is replaced, the telephone reverts
to dial pulsing mode.
If your telephone is set to pulse dialling and you want to use functions that
require tone dialling (e.g. remote replay on an answering machine), you
can swithch the dialling mode while connected.

Activating/deactivating open listening
Phone book
Press MENU key.
PHONE BOOK will appear on the display, then press
ENTER key.
NEW ENTRY will appear on the display, then press
ENTER key.
NUMBER:will appear on the display, you can input
the phone number and confirm with ENTER key.
(You can use DOWN key to backspace)
NAME:will appear on the display, you can input the
name (11 characters max., you can use DOWN key
to backspace) and save the entry with ENTER key.
System will back to the NEW ENTRY.
Saving new entry
Dialling with phone book
Lift the handset, press MENU key.
PHONE BOOK will appear on the display, then press
ENTER key.
30 entries with name can be stored in the phone book. (11 characters and
32 digits max. for each entry)

Only English can be input, the method as follows:
Depending on the position of the digit key, letters are input by briefly
pressing the key (less than 1 second). For press key three times in
succession, as R is the third letter assigned to this key.
Example: If you want to input TOM, you should press key one time,
press key three times, press key one time.
Phone book
Press UP and DOWN key until the entry you want to dial
appears. (After 1 second, the phone number will be
displayed)
Press Enter key, the number will be dialled.
Deleting Entry
Press MENU key.
PHONE BOOK will appear on the display, then press
ENTER key.
NEW ENTRY will appear on the display, press
UP and DOWN key until the entry you want to delete
appears.
Press STAR key, DEL CURRENT will be displayed.
Delete current entry by using ENTER key.
Notes:
Max. 30 entries can be stored in the phone book. When the phone book
reaches its capacity limit, please delete entries manually.

Handset is on-hook:
The procedure is same as above, after pressing ENTER key, the number
will be dialled automatically with handsfree function.
CLIP function
The call list contains a maximum of 50 entries. A new entry is not created
if a subscriber calls more than once. Up to 99 repeated calls are shown by
a counter in the additonal information.
Correctly install batteries and keep the phone on-hook, otherwise the
CLIP function will be unavailable.
Apply the CLIP function from your local Telecom Bureau.
50 caller numbers can be saved to memory. Exceed the current stored
caller numbers the capacity, the first entries will automatically
recovered from the new entries.
If a caller number is too long, only the last 14 digits can be displayed.
If the caller number conforms to the phone book, the name relevant to
this number will be displayed.
The content of call lists is shown as below:

Serial number Caller number
Serial Number: The serial number indicates the order of the call
numbers.
01 indicates the call number as the latest entry.
Caller Number: Please consult the local Telecom Bureau because
of the different content of the call lists in different
regions.
Example: 030 is the area code of Berlin.
If you have set the area code, the local call
number will be automatically filtered and you
can call back directly.

CLIP function
When on-hook, if there are no new unreceived calls, only the clock will be
displayed on the LCD.
The following information will appear on the LCD when you have one or
more new unreceived calls.

To view the caller numbers, press UP or DOWN key.
The caller numbers not viewed will remind you with a
black background.
You can view additional information for the caller num-
ber pressing by # key. (Supported by Telecom Bureau)
Calling back
Lift the handset.
Use UP and DOWN key until the unreceived call
appears on the display.
Press ENTER key, the number you select will be
dialled automatically.
If you select unreceived calls without lifting the handset and by pressing
ENTER key, handsfree function will be used automatically and the
number you select will be dialled.

Press UP and DOWN key to view the call list until
the number you want to save appears.
Press MENU key. DEL CURRENT will be
displayed.
Press UP and DOWN key until COPY TO MEMO
appears on the display, then press ENTER key.
NAME:will appear on the display. You can input
the name for this entry.
Press ENTER key, the entry will be saved to
phone book.
Press a repertory key, the entry will be saved to
this repertory key.

Press UP and DOWN key to view the call list until
the number you want to delete appears.
Press MENU key. DEL CURRENT will be
displayed.
Press ENTER key to delete current entry.
Press UP and DOWN key until DEL ALL appears
on the display.
Press ENTER key to delete all the entries.

Repertory keys
You can save up to 10 phone numbers (including unreceived calls) to the
repertory keys.
Saving repertory numbers/notebook function
Press the MENU key.
PHONE BOOK will appear on the display, then press
ENTER key.
NEW ENTRY will appear on the display, then press
ENTER key.
NUMBER:will appear on the display, you can input
the phone number and confirm with ENTER key. (You
can use DOWN key to backspace)
NAME:will appear on the display, you can input the
name (11 characters max., you can use DOWN key
to backspace).
Press the desired repertory key to save the entry.
Copy entry from phone book to repertory key
Press MENU key.
PHONE BOOK will appear on the display, then press
ENTER key.
NEW ENTRY will appear on the display.
Press UP and DOWN key until the entry you want to
copy appears on the display.
Press the desired repertory key.
Press ENTER key to copy.

Operation at private PABXs
Recall key
During a call, you can make an enquiry call or transfer a call. To do this,
press the recall key . The next step depends on your PABX. When
your telephone is connected to a private PABX, it may be necessary to
change the flash time (e.g. 270 ms). Please check the operating
instructions for your PABX.
Press MENU key.
Press UP and DOWN key until PHONE SETUP
appears on the display, then press ENTER key.
DIAL MODE:T will appear on the display.
Press ENTER key to save the existing dialling mode.
FLASH: 90ms will appear on the display (as
factory setting). Press UP and DOWN key to select
the flash time. (90 ms, 120 ms and 270 ms available)
Press ENTER key to save the setting.

Operation at private PABXs
If you are using your telephone on a private PABX, you may need to store
one or more exchange codes. A dialling pause is automatically set when
the exchange code is programmed.
Setting exchange codes
Press MENU key.
Press UP and DOWN key until EXCHANGE CODE
appears on the display, then press ENTER key.
Enter the exchange code.
If you want to enter more than one exchange codes,
please use UP and DOWN key to move the cursor
and input them. (3 exchange codes with 3 digits max.)
Press ENTER key to save the setting.

Troubleshooting for CLIP
If your telephone cant display the proper caller numbers, please try to
change your CLIP setting before contact your network provider or dealer.
Press MENU key.
Press UP and DOWN key until PHONE SETUP
appears on the display, then press ENTER key.
Press ENTER key twice until CLIP MODE: 1
appears on the display..
Select proper CLIP mode for your local network.
CLIP MODE: 1 factory setting
CLIP MODE: 2
CLIP MODE: 3
Press ENTER key to save the setting.
